II retained Martha after my ex-wife put a restraining order against me, and than filed for a divorce. My case was difficult as I was not able to obtain any needed documents as they were very old and only copy we had were in the home, and I did not had access to my home to retrieve them. A month after surgery my employer began to harass me about coming back to work but also started contacting the doctors office behind my back to have them create a doctors note that would indicate that I'm able to return work. At that point I sought counsel with the Barrera Law firm for help.

Do they know they're talking to paying customers? I wonder....
Call me old fashion, but I do appreciate a respectful exchange and greeting. Especially if I am paying top dollar for boilerplate templates I could potentially fill out myself.

Bottom Line - Colleen Haddow is the BEST attorney I could have ever wished for --my only regret is that I didn't start with her from the beginning.
Ms. Colleen Haddow came as a recommendation from my previous law firm following failed mediation in a highly complex, contentious, and financially draining divorce and custody case. The opposing counsel - whose professional reputation precedes her as a person devoid of ethics and civility, made finding a willing, capable, and affordable replacement daunting. Colleen personally and immediately took my call for an intake interview. When I opened by informing her of who opposing counsel was, she simply laughed with complete confidence, accepted my case, and immediately got my case moving on the right track.
Unlike opposing counsel in this case, Colleen is a legal professional with impeccable integrity and ethics; but not to be confused with someone who submits to bully tactics or shies away from confrontation in or out of the courtroom. Jessica is an excellent attorney who works for your best interest and does not engage in petty issues. She gives sound advice that helps her clients come to the best and most equal division of assets. She is calming when she needs to be and fierce and controlling when the situation calls for it. What I respect most about her was her "high road" tactics and her best interest in her client and her client's children. Divorce is not fun and custody is equally as hard but she made sure that my interests and my child's interests were the most important and not "petty" jabs. Jessica strongly encourages working with opposing parties and finding an agreeable solution.

Jessica helped me navigate the divorce process with agility and constantly provided strategic advice. Without her, I know that my divorce settlement would have been much worse. I am shocked by the below review. I have worked with Colleen on my high conflict case for nearly 8 years (initial divorce and subsequent modifications). She has been nothing but a fierce advocate and her attention to detail is unmatched. She knows numbers off the top of her head, is incredibly effective, and her courtroom skills are unmatched. We have been to Court numerous times and she has been able to predict the result with great accuracy each time. She is also incredibly responsive and has great bedside manner. Perhaps she was too busy or burnt out, but we will have to live with the consequences of her lack of adequate attention and advocacy for decades. The next round of attorneys I interviewed to deal with the aftermath were shocked with the work in my case and the one I hired made sure anyone consulting on the case understood that it was not their work. She might be great with amicable cases, but her work resulted in great burden at the hands of a high conflict ex. I hope it’s a one-off, but that doesn’t help us.

Mrs. Miller's litigation services were nothing short of exceptional. I was falsely accused of abduction, assault, unlawful use of a firearm, and hit and run. Due to the lack of evidence defense presented by Mrs. Miller the prosecutor moved to nolle prosequi the case (meaning that they decline to prosecute) and the judge granted the prosecutor's motion and my case was dismissed. Mrs. Miller also advised me on how to proceed on an additional emergency risk order case that I chose to represent myself on. Based on Mrs. Miller guidance with that case, it was also dismissed without prejudice.
Mrs. Miller was easily and readily available / reachable throughout the duration of this ordeal which lasted approximately 4 months. I would certainly recommend Mrs. Miller to anyone needing legal representation.

She does not listen to a word you say, she came
To court unprepared, my child’s mother basically ran the proceedings and she just said “ok and yes” to everything with out consulting with me. She failed to get my proposal sent over on time so instead, the other party sent theirs first and I had to either accept or counter when I was the one who was supposed to be sending over the proposed offer 1st. Just a terrible lawyer. Stand clear, she will not fight for you especially if you’re a male.

I lost my daughter 7 years ago. The guilt spiked my addiction to alcohol and I am now two years sober. My daughter’s father and his fiance planned a life for my daughter without me. I was pushed out of every aspect of my daughter’s life with false and forced allegations. Resulting in severe trauma and distress on my daughter. Triangulation, malicious parent, and parental alienation became overwhelming. Ms. Kim is professional, compassionate, she did NOT judge me for being in recovery (unlike most people) she worked with my schedule, she prepared me for the worst but came out with the best outcome for my ten year old and I to finally have a balanced life together and start to heal. She literally got EVERYTHING I asked for. Mental health for my daughter, coparenting counseling, one week off and on w dad, and compliance with the legal custody we now share. She saved my daughter’s life. That’s no exaggeration. Parental issues weigh heavy on children. 1000000% recommend. Will retain again if necessary.

I called to receive advice about the process of generating a prenuptial agreement. After taking very minimal information from me, the secretary passed me off to Russell Ray. He knew nothing about me other than my name and the fact that I sounded like a young woman. Rather than providing legitimate legal counsel, he asked me to picture a scenario in which a young woman in her 20's marries a man and has four children, and continued with saying "a woman can't work with four kids." He went on to explain that the man would be the bread winner and the woman would care for the children. In their 50's, the man may be attracted to a "hot blonde in her 20's" and leave the woman. She would have no relevant job experience and because she signed a prenup in her 20's, she would have forfeited her right to spousal support and/or his "$1.5 million in retirement investments." Therefore, she would settle for working a basic job, earning $30,000 in annual salary, left with nothing... All because she signed a prenup.
As a successful woman with active personal and retirement investments, a steady career, and a progressive outlook on parenting in a dual-income household who is marrying a man with similar financial assets and outlooks, Russell Ray's "advice" was extremely insulting and inappropriate. I will not be working with this attorney and I highly advise others to take this account into consideration when seeking legal counsel.

Mr. Ray was an amazing attorney and he was able to help me throughout the process of my divorce, which was a bit complicated. He guided me through the process of splitting my 401K as well as how much to pay for alimony for just a specific time frame. I used Mr. Hendrickson to represent me for a judgment I won while we were stationed away from our home. Not only did I waste my money on his services, he filled out the paperwork with the court incorrectly. I took him to court and won my judgment and he refuses to pay me. I wrote to the Bar Association and he was reprimanded and had to pay a fine. I garnished his bank account and he filed an emergency Homestead Deed to stop me from collecting my judgment. The Judge sided with him and I have to find another way to collect my judgment. He is a liar and told another Judge he never was paid his fees, which I have a canceled check signed by him. His case against me was dismissed. He put a lien on my home and refused to remove it. I had to get the Judge to sign off on documents proving that I didn't owe him anything. He is a lawyer that should be in jail for contempt. Its pretty bad when the Bar Association finds you for your wrongdoings. They should have made him pay me my judgment.

I hired Mr. Wigodsky to handle an accident case. It has been a few weeks since it was settled, and I am still processing the fact that this enormous weight has been lifted. I had no idea what was going on with my case. he will never contact other party attorney without me asking him. he had no clue how to deal with lawyers in general. every time an issue arrises he comes to me for counseling. he had no professional advise to give me nor did he give me any idea of how to resolve the problem. he only knows basic administrative task and how to fill up forms provided by the court. he has very little knowledge about contested cases. it is very scary to deal with an attorney who will not tell you that he has no idea about how to handle a contested case but he will continue so that his pride does not get affected.
He will never keep me posted about my case and he will never give me a copy of any documents. he will randomly file motion with the court and send me letter saying a motion has been filed and I have to attend the court. I wouldn't have a clue what the motion is about. when I call him, he will never answer my phone and he will never reply to my messages. I had to go to the court to pick up documents that he filed with the court and try to understand my self what it is about.
I went through sever stress dealing with him as compared to my divorce. I had to fire him immediately when I realized that my case was going nowhere and he is just collecting my money.
