Attorney Richard Batelman and his staff not only met but exceeded my expectations. Having been introduced to his office via referral by the Brooklyn Bar Association, I too would now highly recommend him and his support staff. Both the strengths and weaknesses of my rent-dispute case were explained, thereby allowing me to weigh the risks against the potential rewards of going to full trial versus settling. Subsequent to an agreement by both adversarial parties on terms to resolve our dispute, Batelman remained engaged throughout the follow-through process to ensure that the agreed-upon terms were properly enacted. I hired Rob Gershon prior to hiring Michael Mueller . He had my case from October of 2022 until August of 2023. A total of 10 months. Initially prior to highering him I filed my own custody visitation child support paper work with the courts and uploaded my documents into the Edds and wrote my own acs appeal letter. Rob did make several court appearance and file motions and petitions after I hired him however , I was not pleased with his performance because the case was not progressing. I reported him to the bat association as well however he charged $4,500 and in his invoice he did do more work and he refunded me $700 for the work that I did and that he did not do. Therefore, he was fair because he refunded me what was owed to me with Michael Mueller I have to go to the bar to dispute my refund for him robbing me and charging me 10,000 unnecessarily when majority of the work was already completed by Rob and myself . So I will say Rob is fair but I wasn’t pleased with either of them now I am seeking a 3 rd attorney .

First of all I must say that God had bless myself and my mother with meeting Mr Robert Gershon. He is hardworking patience, very easy to talk to. He always took time to explain everything to myself and my mother. He was never at anytime aggressive compare to other lawyers that I have heard about. Mr Gershon is a sweetheart. He is one in a million. No one recommended him to be. Oh yes someone did, that's God The Almighty. I was looking for a good divorce lawyer for my mom so I decided to pray and go through the internet. I contacted a few Attorneys. After praying on it I was directed to Mr Gershon by God. After meeting with him I told my mother we will stay with Mr Gershon and that was the best decision I made for my mom. He was always on time in court. He always came prepared with his paperwork and I must say always dressed fresh and professional. My mom always said what a handsome man he is. (Had to put that in) He never pushed for his payment. He is one in a million. I always had faith in him. In the beginning my mom commented that he was too young, but when she saw what he had to put out she was convinced that he was the right choice. My mom case was very lengthy and even though I know he felt a little tired he never showed it. He is a decent man. His parents raised him well. So easy to talk to. Words cannot express the amount of gratitude, appreciation, and ultimately indebtedness our family has and feels for Mr Robert. I have been in a heated custody nightmare for over a decade, and our last experience with a local lawyer was an utter joke. I was referred to Mr Robert office by two relatives of mine when circumstances once again turned negative, and he and his staff were both amicable, and VERY knowledgeable. From speaking to him during the initial consultation I saw more passion, empathy, strategy and experience then I saw in my previous lawyer during the whole time he represented our family. I knew immediately that he was the one to represent myself , my son, and ultimately our entire family as this has been a nightmare for everyone.
Having had such a horrible prior experience, I was hesitant, emotional, and to be honest so exhausted from the years of negativity my son and I as well as our family had endured. Mr Deller took his time and asked questions, and kept me calm throughout the entire process, he broke down the case and our situation, and he and his staff followed up in a timely manner to ensure I had the latest information. They took my hundreds of pages of ten years of reports and documents, and turned it into an amazing stipulation that had my son and my best interest front and center. Mr Robert was nothing but honest and forthright and it was much appreciated, I was left with no false hopes or expectations.

Extremely Dissatisfied with Michael’s Conduct as an Attorney
First and foremost, during our initial meeting, Michael provided me with an expectation for my case that is very different from the conclusion he is currently suggesting. Also, he sets certain dates for filing certain papers However, when I followed up with him, he unexpectedly demanded that I replenish the retainer much earlier than we had agreed upon to justify him not doing what he said will do.
But what truly baffled me was the attorney's constant attempts to play mind games throughout the conversation . Whenever I questioned him or held him accountable for failing to fulfill his own words, he would adopt an arrogant and condescending tone. Such behavior not only undermined our professional relationship but also made me question his integrity as an attorney,
In conclusion, I must emphasize that this attorney's conduct is very manipulative and arrogant.

I hired Kathy Polias in 2014 for a paternity proceeding asking for a civilly registered parentage judgment and DNA test because it was required for recognition in the country I lived with my son. Kathy made a private stipulation of support deviating below CSSA that is not even enforceable in NY State and obtained a common law order of filiation that is also not considered valid by NYS. The nonjudicial orders were not confirmed by a judge, I was not even joined or served with the documents. My son has had no right to child protective services in the 9 years I have been requesting them, CPS does not afford credibility to unregistered parentage orders. Kathy believes she did her job and says she can’t provide more assistance when I asked her to obtain confirmation from a judge. She believes common law documents of filiation that are never confirmed by a judge are valid. She believes orders of support after order of filiation can be unregistered and enforced in private meetings with no state or judicial oversight.
she deems to believe that children born out of wedlock are not entitled to have civil rights in civil records. She appeared at the first fearing but the case was never overseen or confirmed by a judge, so technically there was no parentage trial. I was not joined and Paternity requires personal appearances or both parties to execute a single signed original document to meet requirements for the software to permit a stipulation to be transmitted. A family court judge could’ve issued an order, but since 2014 UCCJEA, paternity is a custody proceeding so support for a child born out of wedlock requires a judge to confirm and electronically transmit final judgment then refer matter of support back to a magistrate after the electronic record has been established in the state.
Kathy believes magistrates can be vested with power of a judge to make final judgments when custody is disputed. The software does not follow common law precedent so no orders establishing my son’s rights have ever reached the state officials.
The birth certificate says father unknown, after 9 years trying to obtain enforcement of the deals Kathy made.

Mary Grace will belittle, berate, and make you feel so insignificant that she talks down to all her clients. I am one of 3 with a bad experience with her. People gave up because everything with her takes forever!!! She loves going to trails and constantly asking for money. She dodges calls and pretends she is in court. She has been virtual and not busier than any other attorney. She is disgusting in her tone and mannerisms. She also will never go ahead and file anything in favor of a man and also will continue to dodge things she knows she could be doing. NEVER hire this woman- she's a scam artist and is always ready to put a lien on your house because she loves going to trial. She will adjourn and adjourn and adjourn to get to a trial. I've had a real estate problem for a few years now. I've gone through a few shady lawyers and a few consultant groups that claim they would help me but never did. Instead they drained me dry of my earnings. A friend referred me to Mrs. Aughtry, but I didn't call on her because I was already sick and distrusting of lawyers. I have another lawyer helping me with my mediation for my home in NJ but I got sued by the collectors and needed help. My current lawyer would not help me with that and claimed that the medication would put a stop to it, but the mediation date was not set yet. I went to Mrs. Aughtry for a second opinion and she was very open and honest with me. She even went out of her way to assist me with the current lawsuit although she couldn't represent me. This is what a real lawyer represents, not just the ones that are looking for a paycheck. Unfortunately there are just too many of them to speak of, but obviously, Mrs. Aughtry is not one of them.
If you need a good, honest and helpful lawyer that is not full of nonsense and not just looking for a paycheck, but is willing to see you through and is up front? She is the one. The other thing is, if she can help you, you are getting one of the best lawyers they have out there. I wish I had contacted her sooner or else I wouldn't have all of the problems I have now.

I so regret that I hired her as my divorce lawyer. Almost immediately, to my dismay and confusion, she wanted me to concede and make concessions to my ex that gave my ex so much of the power and benefits. When I think I could have and should have gotten 50/50 custody of my kids, she told me I would never gotten it without ever making it clear as to why and she thinks I should be happy that I got the couple days that I did and that I don't have to pay full child support. Keep in mind that my ex makes more than double what I make and she would have had to pay me monthly spousal maintenance if it was 50/50. I also got left with all the marital debt because Sofia thinks I should have been happy with the reduced child support. l feel like Sofia did as little as possible and left me, who was under so much emotional stress and duress, to figure things out, which led me to miss so much in the stipulation agreement that will keep me down for the next 15 years. In the agreement, I found errors and inconsistencies that she should have picked up on. In retrospect, even if it had cost me $50,000 or more, it would have been cheaper to have gone to court and to fight for a better deal than to give in and sign the one I did. So again, maybe Sofia is a good lawyer for some things but divorce isn't one of them. Find another divorce lawyer.

It’s stressful enough working through my pain but to find lawyer after lawyer uninterested in my case is extremely disappointing. As many I have reached out to before, this was no different. Michael & his team are curt, not interested when contacted. Maybe it’s me but with the injury I’m dealing with I have enough on my plate. I don’t want to be begging someone to return my calls…enough of a headache. Don’t recommend. I will continue to look elsewhere.
