Absolutely Incredible service!! They’ve helped with a few tickets I’ve had over the past eight years, including a recent one for my teenage son. I was super concerned about how it would impact insurance with him getting a ticket, but they helped me resolve it more than I thought was possible.
I’ve recommended them to many friends and business clients, at least a dozen in SD and all of whom have been very happy with the results. I’ll definitely continue to recommend them!

I have been very happy with Elizabeth Aronson's office regarding the speed of communication, helpful and friendly staff. Most important she knows how to have cases dismissed . I have repeatedly used her for my son and me to have speeding tickets dismissed on at least 3 different occasions if not more over the years. Highly recommend her for any traffic related tickets. Erik Jenkins and April Hu did an excellent job of representing me in my child custody case. They were aggressive in their litigation with the petitioner and her counsel and made decisions that were in the best interests of my family and my child resulting in a 50/50 custody schedule. Previous judges and our mediator had made my path to extend visitation with my child very difficult and the representation I had had in the past was not the caliber that was necessary to see through the deceit of the petitioner and her attorney. Erik and April were able to navigate through the conflict and the result was increased time with my child. Everyone I interacted with in Erik’s office responded promptly to my questions and my concerns. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a trustworthy practice that is highly knowledgeable of the law and will be committed to your needs.

We were facing a giant complaint and the Jenkins team helped us with a powerful and cost friendly defense plan that ended the lawsuit with a dismissal VERY early in the process! These things can be very stressful and damaging and Erik had the patience to keep us calm and confident! The entire Jenkins team was focused and professional and sharp and even occasionally light hearted when the moment was appropriate. This balanced constitution was both effective and comforting!

Been dealing with these folks since 4/23 and any time I enquirer about what’s going on with the case I get a reply about how much money someone else has received but never any update regarding my own case.Im really starting to have tons of questions regarding the legitimacy of the cases and if anything is truly being tried.I have endured 2 separate rounds of treatments,haven’t been able to work since 2/23 due to treatments and lingering side effects,and have built up tons of medical debt aside from what I owe the insurance company Cigna.Do your homework before you decide to go down this rabbit hole I sure wish I would have

I retained Maria's services to assist with the asset portion of my divorce after my previous attorney basically did nothing. Maria familiarized herself with my case immediately and took to the task. Without going extensively into my nightmare case here's the short version: my ex used any and every tactic and dirty dealings to avoid compliance with my court order to sell our home, pay monies, return my vehicle and provide documentation. She is the best Attorney I have ever known ! , she went above and beyond and never stopped.
My daughter was going through a very rough divorce and had started with another well known law firm and they were so lax and had done a very poor job in representing her . , she was in tears and asking me to help her find a good attorney , I contacted many a discussed the case they all just said come in and we will talk . I then called Ms Harris and she talked for about an hour and was so reassuring , my daughter and I went in and it seemed like she was an angel sent to us by heaven , she took on this case that had already went to mediation and we thought was hopeless , she stepped in and took it all the way to trial , I thought I was watching a movie she took over and just had me in aw , her ex had hived a well known attorney and we thought we were beating a dead horse so to speak but she went in the court room as she did with us before and by the way she always was good in court , and she started off with penalizing the other attorney for not have filed and serving all the proper paper work , ( now remember this attorney was from a lg well known firm ) and that set the stage , they could not speak at all , she then proceeded to present her case for about three hours , it was amazing , it should of been filmed for a how to movie , at the end it was better than expected all of her demands were granted , I just have to say if you don't choose Ms Harris you would be making a big mistake , her daughter is her assistant and is just as good as her mother and together they are the best attorney team I ever ! , they pay attention to all details and it dose make a difference , they gave us peace in our home and saved my grand daughter from harms way , thank you again !!!!!

Look no further, Paula and her team ( Matt ) will get the job done right for you with experience, knowledge, compassion, and trust. My now ex wife was so problematic and full of unnecessary bullying and threating tactics of litigation over a pin drop. I was emotionally exhausted and unsure of the unsettled waters that were on the horizon for me. I handed the reigns over to Paula and she delivered not only in silencing my ex wife, and negotiations with opposing council, but in the court room as well. I hired Paula at the beginning of my divorce and then found another attorney. I was not happy with her turn around time / ability to multi-task. She would tell me she needs a week to get back because she is busy with one case. Also I believe I could have avoided a Sapeena if she had submitted my pay stubs to OPC earlier.
The other aspect that did not work out for me is accuracy in communication, granted I am a bit of a detail-oriented control freak. I had provided specific text to change and she did not merge it, more than once.
At the time she worked for me (2017) her rates were the cheapest I had seen. The best part being the minimum billable is 1/10 of hour, not 2/10.
I have no doubt others may be satisfied with her services.

Trying to decide on a lawyer is very stressful, you have to go with you gut and best decision after just a few short consultations. I felt comfortable and at ease with Anne right away and knew she was the right one to help me through this difficult process. I am sure glad I found her and know that she is the reason I was able to make it through this with a successful resolution.
Anne was extremely thorough and timely with my case. Any time I needed clarification or didn't understand the process, she was quick to respond and explain clearly to provide better understanding. Her knowledge and experience is vast, and her suggestions for ways to approach things were ones I hadn't even thought of.
Anne was very professional, both in our interactions and in her communications with the opposing counsel and written court documents.

“I have been working with Catie, John and Eric on a very difficult case for over year. They all worked on my case from different angles based on their individual expertise. The work they did was highly strategic and effective, and resulted in the Court ordering exactly what we asked for. We dealt with an overly aggressive opposing counsel that forced us to spend tens of thousands defending a frivolous action. Not only did the Court deny the frivolous request that the other side made; we were able to get an order that the other side pay me back 100% of the attorney’s fees that I paid to GYL. In my opinion she doesn't even deserve one star, but it's required. I was very naive to the divorce world and looked for someone who was professional and specialized in high asset cases. I counted on Myra and her firm to guide me through the process which never happened, and when I asked questions, she was always dismissive, short and demeaning in her delivery. I often felt helpless, and felt it was more important for her to bill me than support me. I paid 10's of thousands of dollars to her firm to fight for me, but when it came down to it, she misled me into believing that I would get a fair settlement, but then sat quietly and left me to fend for myself during mediation, leaving me with much less than expected. She then demanded immediate payment of the balance of her attorney fees to be paid by the end of the day, after agreeing to a payment plan, and then abruptly withdrew as my attorney of record. I would never recommend anyone to this firm and this experience has caused me to lose faith in the justice system!

Mark was very easy to work with. When we first spoke over the phone, he gave my wife and me all the details we needed and made us feel reassured that help was available. I am a combat veteran, with 10 years of service. In the fall of 2020, I received a call from the Public Defender’s office asking me if I was going to use their services. I told her that she must have the wrong number. She confirmed that she in fact had the correct number. She went on to tell me I was being indicted on two felony counts for attempting to exercise my 2nd Amendment right to purchase a shotgun. I thought, “This is some kind of joke.” It was not.
In the summer of 2016, I was taken to a hospital by the police for an alcohol related incident. Prior to leaving the hospital for home, I apparently signed a document acknowledging that I could not purchase a firearm for 5 years. I don’t remember this or really anything about that night.
After becoming sober, four years later in December 2019, I attempted to purchase a shotgun so I could teach my son to shoot. On the 7th day of the 10-day waiting period I received a phone call that the gun store could not release the weapon to me. I didn’t know why. Two months later I was contacted by an investigator asking why I tried to purchase a gun. “You are barred from owning a firearm” he said. This was news to me. He explained that almost four years earlier I was given what’s called a 5150. This means that a doctor had determined that I am a danger to myself and others. I don’t remember ever hearing those words from a doctor.
I was given a public defender who, in my opinion, did nothing but try to intimidate me into taking the prosecutor’s deal. I refused because I honestly did not know that I was a barred person and was willing to fight for my 2nd amendment right, even if that meant I might become a convicted felon. It seemed like the DA’s office and the public defender both just wanted me to go away. I was getting irritated with the way the whole situation was developing.
Finally, I was fed up. I started asking around for any effective attorneys who truly believed in our constitutional rights and that wouldn’t try to extend the case in order to increase their bill. A veteran neighbor suggested Attorney Gary Barthel at the Military Law Center. Mr. Barthel is a veteran himself and so I felt he could understand the nuance of this case. What he discovered blew my mind.
After retaining Mr. Barthel, he immediately started to examine the evidence and determined the 5150 determination, that I was threat to myself or others, was not properly assessed in accordance with California law. Additionally, Mr. Barthel also determined I was denied a required hearing to appeal California’s 5-year ban to purchase a weapon. Based upon the results of his investigation, Mr. Barthel was able to convince the District Attorney’s office to dismiss the charges.
It took Mr. Barthel only a few months to get all charges dropped. Attorneys are expensive so it is important to find one that is efficient. Mr. Barthel was able to win the case and since it was done so quickly, my total bill was very reasonable. I was also refunded the unused portion of the retainer. I don’t plan on ever needing a criminal defense attorney again, but if I do, I’m calling Gary Barthel. He is very competent, and I would highly recommend his services.
