Keep looking for a better law firm. There are others out there.
In the beginning they were great. Attentive. Action planned. Quick response time. It took my lawyer a full year to get my divorce settled. I know each case is different but we did not have a lot to settle on and we had no children. In the end I was the one pushing my ex-husband to comply. He had committed multiple contempt's of court actions. My lawyer explained the judge probably wouldn't side with me. I appreciated her opinion and chose not to take him to court. She still went through and wrote drafts (costing me more $). Once I finally got everything done on my own the law firm in general just stopped communicating. No more emails being answered. No more phone calls being answer or returned. They offered to write me a check when I was done with the business for less than my account had left in it. I wanted the full amount. The only way to get someone to talk to me was to show up at the office. At first I thought it was just my bad luck with a bad lawyer. It wasn't. It was the law firm in general. It may cost more money in the end but keep looking!!

I have been awarded social security disability benefits because of the hard work of attorney Corey Luedeman of RSH Legal.
After Corey took over my case, he literally did everything. He handled all communication from requesting medical records to meeting deadlines. All I had to do was update him on any medical changes.

Had scheduled consultations set up with Austin Norden to review a child support case. First meeting was supposed to be in his office at 11am. He called at 8:30am and said it would have to be over the phone and he'd call me at 11. 11 came and went with no phone call. I finally texted him at 11:30 asking if he was still available to meet, but got no response. At 11:45, I called him and got his voicemail. He immediately called back and acted like nothing happened. No apology, no explanation for missing the 11am meeting without notice. After a quick call explaining the situation, he said he would call back the next day at 3:30 to get more information. Well, 3:30pm came and went with, once again, nothing from him. He didn't even try to call or text me after missing this second appointment, and needless to say, I didn't try to contact him again, since being stood up twice in 2 days was not only rude and inconsiderate, but a window into what it would probably be like if we hired him. It's mind-blowing that someone could treat another person like this and not reach out to apologize. He clearly lacks common curtesy and manners in general. I'd save yourself the headache and hire someone who's reliable and actually cares!

All of the reviews seem to be for Tom. Iv had one of their lawyers assist me in a traffic case and he gave me 30 minutes of his time with really no results. I heard he may have been let go after my case which is good. Businesses need to perform and be accountable for their results.
I recently called in and spoke with a diffrent attourney and more or less he didn't want to help me. Iv got a bad taste in my mouth from this firm. I have not experienced Tom's performance. He is approaching $500/ hr.

I should start by saying our best case scenario going into court was to have the case dismissed, and Peter got that done for us on the first day (when another lawyer said the court would meet with us for a few minutes, and set a future trial date). The amazing thing is that getting the case dismissed wasn't even the best thing that Peter did.
My fiancee had been separated for a long time, but had not filed anything with the courts. The Monday before Thanksgiving, her ex didn't show up for the meet-up to hand off the kids to her. He said they were sick, and then stopped answering calls. After driving to his house and a hospital, thinking there was some emergency, it was the middle of the night before we found a police officer who was able to tell us he had filed a temporary order of protection. They gave us a paper with some information, and told us documents would be served in the next day or two. I mention this so anyone reading this understands how I ended up spending Friday after Thanksgiving calling every lawyer I could find, hoping one would be available for a hearing at 8:00 AM the following Monday. I hired Peter, not because I knew anything about his qualifications, but because he was the only lawyer I could find who was willing to show up to court the Monday after Thanksgiving, presumably after cramming for the case all weekend.
Peter showed up for the hearing early. He knew all the pertinent details, and he was professional. More importantly, he won the case.
When I say winning the case was not the best thing he did for us, that's not hyperbole. Neither my fiancee, nor her children, live in Illinois. We hadn't discussed her filing for divorce, but it had obviously become inevitable. I don't think either of us considered where the divorce would happen. (When they were married, they lived in Iowa. We still lived in IA, and the children spent the majority of their time with us.) After winning our case, Peter told us my fiancee should file for divorce ASAP. We said we would. Peter said he wanted to be clear he wasn't talking about filing before too many days passed by. He was talking about filing before too many minutes passed by. He told us that he couldn't represent my fiancee, because it would be prohibitively expensive to hire a lawyer two hours away, but he offered to file the divorce papers. He explained that, if my fiancee's ex filed first, he would file in IL. Eventually, we would probably succeed in convincing the courts the divorce belonged in IA, but we would spend thousands doing that. If we filed first, we would file in IA, and probably wouldn't have to fight that battle. He drafted the divorce papers, and filed them in less than 1 hour. Throughout the 2 years of divorce that followed, my fiancee and I talked about how important that advice was. When you have 3 lawyers and 2 paralegals copied on dozens of e-mails about things as trivial as a missing lunchbox, you realize divorces are almost as much about how much you are willing to spend as they are the fact that you're actually the better parent. Saving thousands fighting about which state the divorce should happen in was huge, given what little money we had left after 2 years.
Peter's rate was $25 higher than our IA lawyer, but his billing was less for calls they were both on, because he didn't overstate his billing like the other lawyer.

He fixed all the damage that a less experienced lawyer created on my divorce/ custody case. I went from supervised visits to joint custody. He's not very prompt with returning urgent phone calls.. But when it matters in court he is well prepared and knowledgeable. Very respectful and honest to clients as well. Definitely worth the money!

Maureen is an excellent lawyer. We hired her for a difficult case in removing an executor. Between the time we contacted her to her filing an injunction was less than a month. We were able to get an agreement assigned and new executor in place without having to go to court less then a month after the injunction. She gives great advice and knows what she is doing. She also takes the time to listen. She is very responsive and keeps things moving.

I met Carrie in 1999. She was my ex-husband's attorney. She helped him get custody of my daughter away from me. After that I knew she was good. If she could get my daughter away from me after I fought tooth and nail to keep her that's all I needed to know. In 2003 I needed an attorney so, I called Carrie's office. She was surprised to see me. She asked me if it was in regards to my ex-husband because that would be a conflict of interest. I said no. Right after that my current husband passed away. Carrie was both compassionate and professional. She was sympathetic and helped me through this tragic time. I have never forgotten it. I refer everyone who asks me about an attorney to her.

Working to get the custody of my son. I had tried two others attorneys before in family issues, but Mr. Fisher is for sure the best and most ethical one. He explained to me clearly how strong my case really was, with all the pros and cons if we went one way or another. We tried to go to arbitration, as it’s required by law first in Iowa, but we had to change the mediator because it was handpicked by the opposing party. His legal assistant is also very kind, knows her job well, and it’s always kind and courteous in all matters. I don’t know much about the rest of the law firm, I imagine it’s also good and ethical too, but I can say that with attorney Fisher, he knows how to handle legal matters very well and is also very time efficient. He’s not the cheapest attorney in CR, but he’s also very reasonable. At the end, you get what you pay for.
