Attorney Butler saved my daughter's life! We live in Detroit, which is a 6/7hr drive. Sometimes we had to drive to the court, see the judge & Atty Butler-then leave! Drive 6/7hrs back home. We weren't there 15min! By the way, we're Butlers too! But my baby was going to see family, and got pulled over. She had drugs, pills, weed, checks, check printer & State Licenses with her picture but in other names! She had Sooo many charges, that would mk ur head spin! She also had speeding & wreckless driving! She got Atty Butler's name from a friend, who highly recommended him. And by him being a Butler, I knew he was the one! My daughter got 5yrs but did 10months! We thought the Feds were gonna drop by, but they didn't! Atty Butler was up front & was straight up! He was always there for Us & reassured Us too! Cause We were nervous recks! Atty Butler said, "I don't play, when I go in there" and He didn't! If anyone need an Awesome Attorney, BUTLER'S the ONE!!!

He told me to hire my other lawyers and she would be my lawyer and promised me to get to see a social security doctor. I fired my other lawyers and then he doesn't take my case. So left me hanging because I would not file my own appeal mercer said that but it's not my job to file san appeal. Your secretary is rude and you left me on my own and I couldn't even go to court cause lied and I had no atty. You are not a good person

Mr. Harrell took on my case after I was initially denied for disability. He was very thorough in explaining the whole process to us. First we tried an appeal which was denied and then we requested a hearing. Mr. Harrell kept us informed of anything we needed to do while we waited. We provided him with doctors and their contact information and his office gathered all the medical information needed. After getting a court date, we had a meeting with him. He explained how the hearing would go and what to expect.He answered all our questions. Before the hearing he wrote a letter to the Judge explaining everything going on with me and why I do qualify for disability. I was approved for disability after the hearing. I wouldn’t recommend another lawyer! Great service and knowledge! Thank you Mr. Harrell!

I recently worked with this for my legal case, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. From the beginning, I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously, and communication was often lacking. My attorney seemed unprepared and did not provide the attention my case required.
I had high expectations based on their reputation, but I left feeling disappointed and frustrated. I believe my case deserved more diligence and commitment. I hope others have a better experience, but I would not recommend this firm based on my own.

When I met Rebecca Simms my husband and I had already had a bad experience with other attorneys and was basically told we had little chance of winning a custody case. From the moment we sat with her, shared our story, reviewed our potential case, we knew she was the one to help us through what wouldbe a four year battle for justice. Rebecca quickly proved herself to be impassioned, dedicated, and brilliant.
Never for a moment did she let us think we might not win, and the odds were definitely stacked against us. When things looked bleak she assured us with confidence. Beware of working with Rebecca Simms: Following her advice has left me in an unsustainable situation.
Ineffective planner. She repeats over and over - “it’s a marathon”. Rebecca focused on symptoms instead of causes. This can lead to more lawyer time needed with no end in sight to resolve the actual cause of issues. I was on an island most of the time working to create positive changes that would result in less issues in the future.
Her hourly rate is not justified. Her performance wasn’t good so it’s hard to say what hourly rate would be justified. $350 an hour is certainly too high.
Rebecca did not take responsibility for mistakes. When I asked her if she was responsible for mistakes made she filed a motion to withdraw as counsel due to irreconcilable differences. We didn’t have irreconcilable differences. I followed her advice, always. Instead of taking any responsibility she blamed me and quit. I didn’t even blame her. I just asked her if she felt any responsibility for the situation I was in due to her legal counsel, advice, recommendations, etc. It took that little for her to quit.
She never truly represented me or my child. She kept doing what she thought was best. Rebecca may work better in divorce with minimal or no disagreement.
Since working with Rebecca I have seen a continual reduction in my authority/autonomy as a parent while acting for, and displaying nothing but, the best interest for my child.
Make sure, if you don’t agree with language in proposed agreements, even if Rebecca urges you too, you don’t simply go along with it thinking she knows better. Be thoughtful and work through examples of what could happen in the future so language is incorporated that can mitigate potentially bad future situations. One would think an experienced lawyer would be good at providing better future-proof language. In my experience, I didn’t see the results of her advice and direction lead to positive results.
I hired Rebecca to make my life and my child’s life better. She failed to make either of those happen. If I could go back in time, I would have hired someone else or just put the money I spent on her directly toward improving my child’s life. Before hiring Rebecca, ask yourself, can you trust a professional that won’t take any accountability or responsibility for their work. Do you want an attorney that will blame you and quit on you instead of trying to fix mistakes?

Great experience, they were very helpful and on top of every little detail. Getting a divorce wasn’t a easy thing to do even though my divorce was unconsented I thought it was going to be a nasty /tedious process but they helped me back and forth with all documents both parties needed to get, they promptly emailed me right away if I missed anything on my documents to correct it so the process was easy and fast . “I was referred to Hal Friedman and Cooper & Friedman by a friend who is a lawyer. Mr. Friedman met with me and my husband, took my case and has kept me regularly informed on the status of my case. Within the first week she had already been working on filing a child support order and getting things rolling. Both Katie and Jo were very responsive and knowledgeable.
