In 2021 I was referred to Sandhya by a friend who had worked with her who said she was fantastic. Boy, what an understatement! I don’t think words can express how grateful I am to have worked with Sandhya on a difficult emergency Child Custody case.

Sandhya Is fantastic!
My ex-wife is a lawyer who filed a default. Trying to remove custody from me and leave me penniless in a divorce. Sandhya helped me by Filing a request to deny default. She instructed me what to say when I was in court. My wife showed up to court with an attorney by her side.
Not only did I get the default denied, I was awarded attorneys fees. Temporary joint custody, plus an increase in spousal support.
It’s only the beginning but “wow”! What a start!

Angela has represented my family for 3 years and she is amazing! I have restraining order, custody, and child support case against my ex who is a political figure. Angela is amazing for many reasons but here are my top 3: she knows the law and the judges; she is tech savvy; she is empathetic.
When I was assigned judge Nöel Wise Angela recommended we switch judges and she was so right! Also, when my ex attempted to divert the case to his political egotistical self, she redirected the case back to the well-being of our son.
Second, I text Angela (Yes, TEXT) if anything comes up, like an R.O. violation, and she responds quickly with a call or text.
Third, she understands survivors of domestic violence in the justice system- sometimes the system is not just. However, she advocates strongly for justice! I really trust her with everything!

Angela was my lawyer in a domestic violence restraining order case. I called several lawyers in the Bay Area while looking for a good fit, and Angela by far made the best impression on me. The first time we spoke on the phone, we spoke for quite a while at no charge. She went through how she would handle the case and I was impressed with her strategy. It was evident that she really cared about my situation, as was not out to just make money. She even gave me the name of another lawyer that did sliding scale work in case I needed a lower-cost option. In the end, I went with Angela, and I am so glad that I did! She was always on top of things, has a very solid knowledge of family law, was always prompt, and always had a solid strategy for how to move forward. During the entire case, the opposing counsel was trying everything possible to make the process harder for me, and frequently dragged their feet on things that needed to get done in the case. Angela took over several tasks that really should have been the responsibility of the opposing counsel because she wanted the best outcome possible. She did not even charge me for these things, which was very generous.
In the end, Angela was simply a much better lawyer than the opposing counsel and was able to negotiate a settlement, which saved me a lot of money. Everything that I wanted Angela was able to get for me, including a long-term restraining order and required anger management for the respondent. Angela was even able to get a significant part of my lawyers fees paid for by the opposing side. I could not have gotten nearly as much without her.
This was an extremely difficult situation for me to deal with, but Angela made me feel like there was someone on my side. If you are looking for a family lawyer, you will be hard pressed to find someone better than Angela.

I had a protracted 7 year long divorce which may seem impossible given the laws in California but if one party has money and decides rules are not for them you find yourself in court. If I had not found Rosanne at the beginning I would not be where I am today. At age 56 you can't just walk away with noting and say I can start over. The reason I am whole now is because she not only knows the law, she makes it her business to research new case law and as a result of her diligence it made all the difference in what the court awarded to me. Her briefs are so well written many judges used her text in there judgements. I was in front of 4 different judges on my journey. I couldn't have done it without her. The first thing she did was try to settle out of court and ironically if my ex had accepted the offer which based on what California law said I was entitled to nothing more, he would have saved hundreds of thousand of dollars. She makes every effort to keep you out of the courts but if you find yourself in my position she is the one you would want representing and advising you.

I wanted a lawyer who listened, counseled in a way that I understood (this being my first time dealing with a legal representative), and was a fair and honest advocate for my legal needs, and I found that in Rosanne. She helped make a difficult time in my life a little bit easier, while getting a result I feel was both acceptable and fair. I didn't want a win-at-all-costs lawyer, but I wanted someone who had my back, was easy to communicate with, and who I felt comfortable with. Deborah Dubroff guided me through a very long, contentious divorce that involved all kinds of non standard stuff (QDROs, out of state moves, spousal support, even a contempt hearing). When I met her, I was immediately struck by her candor, razor-sharp wit, and her obvious generosity of spirit. What I mean by the last is that she took lots of time with me during our initial meeting and really listened to me. She made me feel like everything would be ok, and it was. I won the entire case, including a very large settlement. She strikes me as extremely honest. She always charged me very fairly. I’ve been involved with the family law court system for 4 years now. I’ve learned quite a bit. I’ve self-represented myself, and had other attorneys. I can’t recommend Alexandra enough.
I had a last minute emergency order handled by Alexandra. She was professional, timely, and communicated very well. If she wasn’t so responsive I wouldn’t have had my case seen in time.
Unfortunately family law can be ugly, and Alexandra handled my case in a manner that calmed me, and she communicated my options with clarity. She treated the other party with respect. My child is doing well with the split, and gets to see both parents.
Alexandra is realistic and doesn’t give unrealistic expectations. She also is a lawyer that you can trust and doesn’t use short sighted tactics such as making up issues with the other party. I highly advise getting a lawyer that is truthful and knows the system in the county that your case resides in. This is very important. I was naive and originally expected the court and mediators to be professional and fair. For the majority of my family law experience this was not the case. Some judges and mediators are fair yet many are biased without cause. Since parents will always be the parents to the child, it is very important to get a lawyer that doesn’t see only the short term and throw mud at the other party.
As long as the system has problems, you really need a good attorney.

Alexandra was an amazing resource for me during a very challenging time. She was of course knowledgeable and professional, but she was also sensitive and caring which just made everything easier. I was always provided with sound and detailed instructions regarding my next steps, so I knew what to expect coming up. Another attorney at Frudden and Padilla referred Riena Yu. I needed her for a restraining order, and it was very complicated and kept getting delayed. We worked together for six months. The opposing attorney was disrespectful towards the judge and Ms. Yu, but she remained poised and professional. Ms. Yu stayed by my side even when the case kept getting delayed. She spent a lot of time practicing with me and preparing me for the questions the judge and the other attorney may ask me. “I hired Riena after i was referred to the firm by my friend. I needed her at the very moment as i was fighting againt my husband and his family all alone. This was my first time seeking assistance from a legal professional. Mr. Kershner is considerate, to the point, and professional. Unfortunately he was not able to provide me with the services I needed, however, he was able to be clear and upfront about that, and provide me with references to individuals that could help me with my situation.

Thus I learned of options / remedies I hadn't known much about. He also said that for the specific work I might need to hire an attorney for, I should find someone specializing in that area.
