I don’t have a ton of experience with lawyers, but would 100% recommend working with Cary after utilizing him to help with our prenuptial agreement. Cary was knowledgeable, quick to respond, and made the process as easy and straightforward as possible.
Since Cary was my lawyer and my partner had a different lawyer, I can tell you that our experience was one of extreme differences. While Cary was no nonsense, great at listening and modifying the document to support our wishes, and respectful of our timeline- my partners lawyer was an absolute nightmare for us both.
One large difference between the two was that Cary had a flat rate fee and my spouses lawyer charged by the hour. Because of this, I firmly believe his lawyer drew the process out as much as possible, often completely disregarding our express wishes, and did everything extremely last minute- causing a lot of stress and unnecessary anxiety for us all.
That said, Cary did a fabulous job handling working with someone so unimpressive, and I believe is the only reason we ended up with a document at all.

There are a lot of good lawyers out there, but when your child is in trouble, you need a GREAT lawyer, and that's where Mike Silveira comes in. Today, Mike contacted us to share the fantastic news that our son's case was dismissed. This was no easy feat. Our son received a DUI in Nov. 2020, and to make matters worse, fentanyl (not intentionally ingested) was found in his system. We looked at reviews online and we chose Silveira Law based on the great reviews we read. We could not be happier with the outcome. For more than 3 years, Mike Silveira fought for our son, never giving up and doing everything legally possible to have the case dismissed. AMAZING!!! Got my 2nd DUI dismissed!!!! (small collision involved, no one hurt so I cannot believe it). Silveira communicated great, their office was easy to contact and courteous, detailed, and quick replies. I have spent months trying to understand my rights. I have contacted the EEOC, the ADA, the Job Accommodation Network, the EDD, and the CRD. All of these organizations send me back to one another. None have been able to answer my questions.
Oleg was able to answer questions. He turned a 3 month project, into a 40 min conversation. I recommend contacting Le Clerc law for any questions you have about your rights.

Kristine was the best lawyer I ever had. She is a wonderful person, and also very knowledgeable with divorce law. She tries to do things collaboratively, and that actually worked very well in my case, as my ex is not the easiest person to deal with, neither was his lawyer who is known to be very aggressive. In this case, trying to be collaborative and civil actually worked quite well , and I was very happy with the outcome. Mine was a divorce because of domestic abuse. Valerie negotiated with my former husband's attorney to get my former husband to accept a 3-year stay-away order without my having to testify in court! It was an achievement I hadn't expected but was extremely grateful for. It truly saved me a lot of anxiety. On the other hand, Valerie needs to acknowledge that older people have more life experience than she does and are frequently more experienced in human behavior, especially their spouse's behavior and thinking processes.

It's never easy to write about or disclose personal information involving Family Law, but I honestly found a good lawyer that performed her work exceptionally, so I feel I should let people know. I screened a lot of attorney's and discussed my personal situation. It wasn't easy re-living the ordeal. I quickly realized that the law is complicated and a lot of lawyers can focus in on one particular area and neglect the others. Other lawyers can hit the panic button and lead you to think that the situation is dire. I was looking for sound advice about my situation according to my legal options. And I found it in Susanne. She really listened and explained the law well. I met with her several times, in her convenient downtown location. I remember I had emailed her a bunch of questions, she brought those with answers to our consultation. Her professionalism and understanding of the law was a huge sigh of relief. I felt better knowing my options and what can and can't be done according to the law. Navigating the courts, can be daunting but she knows exactly how to do it. She's also an excellent communicator, always available and responsive. Having a good attorney is important especially in Family Law situations, where loved ones and the right thing to do should come first. We highly recommend Alex. We interviewed 3 lawyers to help us with a landlord that was leasing us a house with multiple issues. We chose Alex because of his expertise with renters' rights and his clear way of explaining them. We had some calls and emailed all of our evidence to him to make the case. We initially consulted with Alex when we were going through a difficult situation with a past landlord who was withholding funds from us and demanding additional payment for a situation completely due to landord negligence. As a much younger man than I am today, I was lucky enough to hire Janet to handle a paternity case for me.
She help me set all of the necessary legal things that I would need to do in motion. And by the time this case entered itself into the courts (involving child support, and custody issues), not only did I Not owe any back child support, but I eventually (with Janet's help) was awarded full legal, and full physical custody.
Janet later successfully handled my divorce, and I could not have been happier with the final results.

Heather has provided legal counsel for me for two separate problems. The first was an issue concerning the housing situation of my very uncooperative and sometimes hostile mother. Family issues can be very tricky to solve, even when the law is pretty clear. Family members tend to play by different rules when dealing with one another and there is a compassion that you give to relatives that doesn't come into play when dealing with strangers. Nobody understands this more than Heather. Her care and compassion for all parties involved give her unrivaled effectiveness in determining a solution with which everyone can be happy. Instead of just going through the legal motions of removing my mother from her current, undesirable housing - which was the legal help I sought - Heather actually went the extra two miles and found several housing alternatives that would fit my mother's financial requirements. She investigated records and found some government assistance programs for which my mother would be eligible. She thoroughly researched all possible avenues, including mediating discussions with other family members. Her warm-hearted demeanor and obvious compassion make her instantly likable and does not put anyone on the defensive, which I have found can be the most serious obstacle to progress. These factors were enough to overcome my mother's hostility and help her realize the right choice to make. I would hire Heather again in a heartbeat if another such situation arises.
Heather is currently representing me in a personal injury claim from a motorcycle accident. I am continually amazed and impressed by her organization and knowledge. Despite being young and newly licensed, she's an excellent researcher and knows when to ask for help. It's obvious to me that she cares most of all about my satisfaction and providing me what I need, rather than serving her own interests. Try to imagine the situation where you suddenly find out that your children who you thought were on a vacation like so many others, have been held on the other side of the world against your will by the person you thought you could trust. In that moment you know you have to do something, quickly, but what? In your head just confusion, bewilderment, chaos. In that moment you realize that you need help, lots of help.
And it was at such a delicate moment that I was lucky enough to find Mr. Seymour. Brent not only proved to be an exceptional professional but also the person who led me by the hand in such a complicated moment of my life. He knew how to untangle all the complications of the issue at hand, not only those strictly related to the legal problem itself but also language problems, laws of different countries, further complications introduced by the pandemic that prevented from moving anywhere. In spite of all the difficulties, Brent was able to operate with extreme mastery of his profession, never forgetting that on the other side of the screen, on the other side of the world, there was a person fighting to have his rights recognized and to be reunited with his children, living in a state of mind easy to imagine. I'm convinced that Ann Riley is the most ethical, competent, and intelligent divorce attorney in the Bay Area.
I interviewed a lot of lawyers and many of them were simply not confident about the law and fairly apathetic. Ann really cares in a way that is helpful. She doesn't waste your time, she is able to be firm when needed, and is extremely logical.
She has a good understanding of the family court system in SF. Opposing counsel was unprofessional and difficult and Ms. Riley refused to engage, knowing that it would cost me more if she did so and that it wouldn't get me any further ahead.
A lot of attorneys like to engage in time wasting activities because they know they can get away with billing you for them - there wasn't a single line item in Ms.Riley's bill that was questionable - she deserved every penny of her retainer.
I wish I had met Ann under different circumstances but I'm really grateful to have met her when I did. She gives me hope that there are still decent and good people who find value in doing the right thing.
