I was disappointed with my experience. The lawyer did not follow through on promises, including failing to call when he said he would and not delivering the results he initially projected regarding my child support case. Communication was inconsistent, which added to my frustration. I hope they improve in providing clear updates and realistic expectations to future clients.

Angela is the worst “lawyer”I’ve ever encountered. My firm has gone against 2 lawyers prior to Angela being the 3rd/ most current. She uses bullying/ intimidation tactics against opposing counsel because she isn’t capable of arguing Florida law and providing evidence. She only files to see what sticks. With her background she is well aware of state law yet disregards Florida law completely to the point I asked for her to be sanctioned in court and sent over to the bar. She is a liar. A manipulator and a bully. Nothing about her fights for the best interests of any child. She only cares about a paycheck and will file anything to get paid.
There are way better firms and lawyers than her. She will not fight for your family or kids. Make sure you document everything from her and send her over to the attorney general and Florida bar.

If I could give less than one star, I would. Jamie is all too happy to take money, but not happy to be held accountable for the job for which you hire her. She and another lawyer screwed me and my kids, and when I begged and pleaded for her to fix it, make it right. She told me it wasn’t going to affect me and she didn’t know why I was worried about it (see attached email response). To this day, it does affect me, and my children, and she simply didn’t care to make it right after happily accepting thousands of dollars. I am still dealing with a case that she didn’t fix and reached out again to try to have her resolve but she doesn’t even bother to answer. I had to file a bar complaint for her to respond only for her to tell me she feels she did her job. If that were the case why doesn’t the state recognize the order she filed and why won’t she fix it? This lawyer has no integrity, so if you want someone who will take your money and offer no help, this is the lawyer you want. She is overpriced and doesn’t even do her job. It’s a wonder she hasn’t be disbarred.

I found this attorney difficult to deal with personality wise. One of the key points of law that helped me, I found. I felt that billing of some tasks should have been delegated to clerical staff. It was not the representation I expected after my initial consultation. Might work better with a different personality and not dealing with federal employee related matters in a divorce. I ended up personally negotiating with the other party which I also did not expect, but felt necessary to reach an expedient conclusion. The job got done, but it was more difficult in what was already a difficult time.

I hired her for a prenuptial agreement, before we started the process my fiancée had an extreme accident with a skull fracture and a speech impairment, we no longer could go through with the wedding, as he wasn’t in the right state in mind. She gave no sympathy for our situation and wouldn’t let us back out of our agreement even though we never attended a meeting with her. My fiancée was in the hospital unconscious for 2 weeks and she cared more about receiving her check than being a decent person. She got her money. I still don’t have a prenup.

This woman is a nightmare. When someone is going through a divorce they are already obviously distraught and feeling bad about themselves. Angela is condescending and abusive in her dealings with clients. She, I believe condescends to make herself feel superior. She knows the law and her clients do not, that is why they need her. She doesn’t like to repeat or clarify law and expects the client to have a grasp of the proceedings, which no layman does. She has a trashy appearance and cannot handle anyone coming back at her with the same attitude she gives out. I’m not sure why she is so cruel, but obviously she has some issues to work through. Clients should not be paying to be abused, belittled, terrified, and reduced to tears. Her treatment is unacceptable and brings shame on her profession.

I retained Kenneth M. Poole, Jr. as my attorney in June 2011. Ken was steadfast in his representation of me in long-drawn-out, post-divorce litigation that concluded in June 2019. I hired Mr. Poole while I was getting divorce. I hired him because he belongs to a big firm, but that was it. I never heard before of him.
What a terrible mistake!....After we spoke a couple of times, he told me that my case was too difficult and he prefer not to work with me. So I asked him if I could get the $2000 back that I gave him as a retainer fee, and of course he said no.
I hired a second attorney. Yes, my case was difficult because my ex husband run away with my children, but this second attorney got me a mediation in just 3 days and got my children back.
Do not hire Mr. Poole. You will lose your money.

This attorney does very minimal work. I was asked to retain him by a partner in his firm and from day one I didnt have a good feeling but given the partner that asked me to retain him, I did. I have pretty much had to beg for proper legal information since that time. He filed some paperwork that anyone could have filed, sent some emails, allowed the other party in my case to threaten him in to bringing such a simple case to a halt and then decided he wanted to remove himself from my case. Beware.............. You get what you pay for.

I interviewed 6 different divorce attorneys before choosing Kate Halvorsen. I couldn't have made a better choice. It sounds cliche, but she's truly a diamond in the rough. Kelly is a very nice person but not a good lawyer. She put the least amount of effort possible into my case and of course lost. She filed no motions or paperwork even though I gave her a lot of help with my case, she didn't know how to cross examine and show that the witness was lying and I would not put a perfectly good witness on the stand even though he missed work to help me. She was unprepared for another of my witnesses testimony and I would have preferred to save my money and couldn't have done any worse as my own attorney. She needs to listen to her clients and not just take money without giving a damn what the outcome of the case is. I've filed a complaint with the BAR to get my money back. Very Poor Job she did for me!!!

I just signed my contact less than 24 hours and already I have not heard back from my emails or left messages and calls. Yesterday, after leaving the office I could not get a hold of the office (two person team) and today the same. Tomorrow is a holiday so I doubt anyone will be working. Also, I expect a lawyer to be truthful, in my case my lawyer expense may not be compensated unless a judgement is won through litigation, not negotiation. I was told by Kelly it could be compensated. Two other lawyers with 20 years experience over her clam this to be false.

We had a very good consultation, I felt great about him. I gave him a retainer check and then promptly didn't hear from him for almost 3 weeks. They didn't answer their phones or return emails. I had 20 days to respond to my papers I'd been served, so I had to cancel the check and in a rush go find a new lawyer. He then emailed me after that that he was on vacation and he was sorry for my inconvenience.

I hired Mr. Hansen for family law after my husband and I separated. When we went to court he did not speak as the other parties attorney did all the speaking. When asked about a form by the judge Mr Hansen knew nothing about it. We were there for 15 minutes and I got a bill for 1100 dollars with false charges (ie left a message for daycare worker 95$ yet my daycare states they never spoke to him) after disputing this they actually sued me instead of trying to help me. I felt like he took advantage of the situation. It was later revealed he did not practice family law at all. Hasn't in many years which was false representation. Their office has been anything but truthful or helpful. I would never recommend them. Mr. Nicholas Sardelis however of Sarasota is phenomenal in family law. Nothing but good words for him!!

I will remain objective and stick to only the facts of my experience with Melinda. I really am sharing this information to have my voice heard and to protect others through educating them. My hope now is this does not happen to others. Melinda failed to add refinancing terms or payment terms to a property settlement in my divorce settlement. I was advised, after I signed the settlement, refinancing terms are usually added to property settlements and/or specific payment terms on the property in the case of ongoing defaults. During mediation 5years ago, neither of these items were discussed or put in writing in the settlement. Furthermore, an indemnification clause was added to my divorce settlement without any legal advise or direction. Melinda did not explain how it will protect me financially in the future. This clause does not protect a client from debt defaults in which the client no longer has any ownership rights to the real estate property. I was advised by Melinda via email after the property was defaulted on, even moved into foreclosure, that the indemnification clause should protect me from any financial harm. Upon legal advise from other attorneys, I was advised after my settlement was already signed that specific terms needed to be added to the settlement whether it was refinancing (which was not possible solution in this situation) or specific terms for delinquency and defaults. I am incurring more legal expenses to enforcement a settlement in which ongoing defaults and failures to pay continue to take place 5years after the property was quit-claimed over. Most middle class people cannot financially afford to stay that legal course and unfortunately innocent people get financially harmed. I really would like more legal awareness and education to take place. Sometimes we cannot rely on an attorney to give us the best advise. We need more public awareness to truly protect.
