Not happy with this law firm at all was in a serious motorcycle accident that wasn't my fault and this attorney is getting more money than I am. If I could do it over again I wouldn't use this guy did absolutley nothing for me nothing but taking money stay away.I don't have any idea who all these other people are being represented by but I didn't get anything like there help .Im disabled for life and he didn't help me at all .

My experience having Erika Portillo and her team as my immigration attorney for the past 10 years has been phenomenal! From the very start of my case she has ALWAYS been upfront and honest with me about my case which made the whole process much less stressful for me. Erika will ALWAYS go above and beyond her expertise to help her clients as best as she can!
I was able to petition my mother and she also just became a US Citizen two weeks ago! The only reason why I took the 10 years to apply for our citizenship was because I personally decided to wait until my Green card almost expired to apply for our Citizenship. I know I should have applied sooner but with three young children, my studies, and work, I got so busy in my “mom life” that I didn’t realize how fast time had gone by. The good thing is that as soon as Erika filed both my mother’s and my N-400 application in December, by February we had already received our appointment letter in the mail for our citizenship exam! After passing the exam, we received our Oath ceremony appointment for citizenship in the SF location just three months after! We are so happy and relieved that we no longer have to worry about our immigration status and most importantly that the process was smooth because we didn’t have to stress about receiving bad service or looking around for new attorneys because Erika took good care of us every step of the way. 🙏🏼
I mean this from the bottom of my heart because I’ve heard so many unfortunate situations of how difficult it is for our people to find a good lawyer who doesn’t charge them every time they show up to their office, or charge them tons of dollars upfront to take the case and then they take forever to respond or get a hold of. My husband and I needed a will and a trust before we left on a vacation to Africa. We really did not give Summer a lot of time to do this. She had it finished and ready to sign in record time. She made us both feel very comfortable that she was taking care of us. My husband is not the easiest to please when it comes to these types of issues. First off, what can I say about Tanya. She is absolutely the best at what she does. She is not only professional, but there for you in these stressful family law situations. Because of Tanya, I was able to settle this very tough dispute with my ex husband and I no longer have to stress about my financial security or child custody as I have two small children. I would agree with most positive reviews about Ethan and more. I have known his father Merritt professionally for a long time and I met Ethan years ago at their office. Ethan was a young sharp attorney then and he is a brilliant attorney now. My divorce was complex and difficult as it emanated from a foreign marriage. Ethan was not only prepared to deal with issues dealing with an ill conceived attempt at a reconciliation of marriage but also with issues stemming from a foreign marriage contract. He not only navigated through the reconciliation issues but also complex property issues, alimony, child support, custody and visitation aspects of the case. I couldn't have hired a more knowledgeable, aggressive and well prepared attorney. I could write a brief on Ethan. He is not only readily accessible but friendly and down to earth. There's no hint of arrogance or standoffish that you might find with other attorneys. I would say Ethan takes each case very personal and high professional. My experience having Erika Portillo and her team as my immigration attorney for the past 10 years has been phenomenal! I was able to petition my mother and she also just became a US Citizen two weeks ago! The only reason why I took the 10 years to apply for our citizenship was because I personally decided to wait until my Green card almost expired to apply for our Citizenship. I mean this from the bottom of my heart because I’ve heard so many unfortunate situations of how difficult it is for our people to find a good lawyer who doesn’t charge them every time they show up to their office, or charge them tons of dollars upfront to take the case and then they take forever to respond or get a hold of. This is not the case with Erika Portillo!
With that said, I will say that it’s 100% worth your time and money to schedule a consultation with Erika to see if you have a good case. She will not lie to you nor waste your time and money like some attorney tend to. I actually just referred her services to a friend of mine who was asking for an immigration attorney for her brother in law. So I’m confident that if her family takes my referral, they will be in good hands.
*FYI: Both Erika and her front desk receptionists are all Spanish and English speaking so communicating with them and getting answers about your case is very easy as well. They were always ready to assist us with a nice smile on their faces.
What I love the most about having Erika as an immigration attorney is that she continues to educate herself. She stays on top of all the new laws and that’s what allows her to provide such clear and accurate services. Johanna came highly recommended. She was able to help us (rookies to the Juvenile court system) understand the process, the probable road blocks, and the players. She was able to level set our expectations. She collaborates and listens well. But, what was most amazing was to see her in action in court. She could hear a case citation and "on the fly" find an offsetting case to present to the Court. She has a deep understanding of juvenile case law.

We were referred to Johanna Kwasniewski by a trusted lawyer that had worked with her partner. We own a commercial building that has about 40 leases in place at any given time, plus other Homeowner's Association matters that we deal with. She has handled about half a dozen different cases for us over the last year, ranging from evictions to settling monetary disputes with commercial tenants and other Homeowner Association matters. She has handled all of them efficiently, to our benefit, and so far not once have we needed to go to court (although that will likely happen...what are the odds?). I am new to this firm but have been with Sara Driesen since switching over from a previous firm. I've said this to Sara and I'll say it here, "I'm never entering a court room without her!" I have been with Sara for nearly 5 years already. As a father I was terrified entering a courtroom especially with false accusations said against me, but since I have been with Sara it has been nothing but favorable outcomes in court. Having her by my side feels like everything is under control, she's honest and gives it to me straight, and I respect that a lot! as her client I think its important for me to have honesty, self awareness, reasonable expectations, and truly have the children's needs as a priority for any attorney to have success. I like to think I do that.
Trust me I am not rich by any stretch, however Sara has always worked with me from a financial stand point and has always tried to be transparent with me and help me in any way she can.
As for the new team I was nervous having been used to the old firm but everyone here is great the transition was smooth and everyone is on the ball!
I was awarded majority custody for the past 3-4 years and I recommend Bednarczyk & Valerio, LLP to anyone who needs the BEST representation. I haven't experienced any of the other attorneys but if they were smart enough to bring Sara along then they know what the hell they are doing.

Mark put together a will/trust for us. Work was ok/standard. We later needed a soft copy of a doc that was part of that service (had lost the email previously sent that had contained it). Instead of re-fowarding that previous email or at minimum letting me know there'd be a charge and a substantial charge at that, he sent the docs, and then billed us nearly $200. That's a $360/Hour rate looking at the time he says it took (which was overblown by about 200% from how long it should have taken). Unbelievable that somebody you thought you could trust, attempts to take advantage of people like this. He most likely has a bunch of rich clients, where this is just a drop in the bucket and pay these things without even looking at them. But for most of us, this is a large sum of money, and massive considering the services received for being charged it. Do not trust him.

About a year ago I called Mark Blake's office because I needed a Power of Attorney to help with the settlement of my late father's east coast estate. Since that was such a pleasant and successful experience, we decided to return to him for help with estate planning.
During the first meeting he listened to us, understood our specific concerns, and advised us. We arrived at an agreement and he arranged everything exactly the way we all agreed it should be. The work was done quickly and thoroughly. At our second meeting he went over everything with us, all of it straight-forward, we signed the papers, and left the office knowing that things were in good order. Now I wonder why I procrastinated so long. It's a wonderful feeling to have everything in place, and to know that whatever happens in the future, our decisions will be honored and our loved ones protected.
Mark Blake is a pleasure to work with. He is pleasant, intelligent, cordial, and he listens. He inspired confidence from the very beginning, and as time goes by we find that he is always quick to respond to messages and helpful. An added benefit is that the law offices are easily accessible in downtown Walnut Creek, but I think that even if we moved away from the East Bay we'd still call Mark Blake for any legal need. We would (and do) highly recommend him to our friends.
