My ex-wife file for divorce and once I got David involved, the opposing attorney and ex's demeanor drastically changed. After David gained insight on my situation, how I earn income (I'm self-employed) and what my ex was asking me for, David was my voice and advocate to make sure I was not taken advantage of. My ex's requests (demands) were based on emotion and she wasn't budging until David came along. David worked through the legal system and made sure the settlement was based on facts and not emotion. When I wanted to give in, he asked me "for what? There is no legal basis for what they're asking for (paraphrased)". There's an awful lot of waiting as the due process takes place but it's for a reason. This gave my legal team some time to formulate a plan, and used time to our advantage. David and his paralegal Joni are top notch, very knowledgeable about the law and how to apply it to get my case settled. There were many phone calls and emails to me from their office outside of normal business hours, which I appreciated, so their dedication to their clients were beyond evident. David worked hard on my case and I can finally move forward in my new chapter of life. If you're interviewing attorneys deciding who to select, have at least a conversation with David, and you will immediately know that he absolutely has your best interest in mind. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for what he and his team have done for me, my future and for my dependent son. Thank you David! I'd give him 10 stars if I could.

Divorce is such a painful process on multiple levels. I wanted my divorce over as soon as possible. Unfortunately, there are levels of attorneys and 5 star reviews don't always correlate with competence. I chose one based on 5 star AVO reviews and was severely disappointed. My divorce dragged on years exacerbated by Covid.
I was at my wits end when I was thankfully referred by word of mouth to David. After a 20 min ph call with David, I fired my last attorney and hired David. He is very intelligent, professional and straight to the point. David has a network and rapport with the "system" that can only exist because of a long and successful career. This network also greatly benefitted my case both financially and psychologically.
My experience with divorce was ugly. It was not only a battle with my ex, it was a made worse because of her team of lawyers. Petty arguments and tactics designed to drain the estate of finances and wear you down emotionally.
In such a situation, you want a shark on your side to cut through the opposition with efficiency. David was just that both strategically and in front of the judge. If only I had hired him first. I would have saved myself a lot of mental and financial energy. Do yourself a favor and call David. Trust me.

I would absolutely recommend Henry and the MKFM firm to all my friends and family. My case was a contested adoption and ended up also including a side appeal case as well. It was an extremely long and litigious case that required patience, expertise and attention to detail. We won our case handedly and we would not have without Henry's extensive knowledge in case law, brilliant trial composure and overall calm, composed and very confident demeanor. In fact, the Appellate court saw fit to have Henry's arguments entered into case law for future cases.

I came to Henry with a divorce case previously handled by another attorney that was extremely long, complicated, and for which there was no similar precedent. Add to that a change in the divorce law while in process, and the complexity magnified. I truly believe had it not been for Henry's intelligence, tenacity, deep understanding/amazing total recall of the law, and spirited desire to make things right, my outcome would have been financially and psychologically disastrous. I was the successor trustee for my deceased aunt's trust. Midway through the process the original attorney handling the trust left the law firm and Colleen Henes was assigned to us. Although we never met in person, we were able to conduct our business via email until completion. Colleen was always up on everything and responded to my emails in a timely manner, even on weekends. I felt I was always kept up to date. It was a pleasant experience working with Colleen.

Attorney Miglore is THE G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Times) when it comes to Criminal Law. He was able to do what others said would NEVER EVER happen. My spouse had an issue that he was grandfathered into when the laws changed which was out of state that required him to register as a sex offender. We lived in Illinois for a brief period and to be in compliance with the law he had to register. The out of state Judge granted an order to remove him from the registry nationally. Since we lived in Illinois briefly, he was on the registry and was told that he would be on the Ilinois registry for the rest of his life, even though we don't reside there anymore. My wife received a ticket for not properly stopping by a school bus in a school zone. it was total B.S. she was stopped the bus was moving with his sign out! Naturally there was a ticket maid from the government to watch and nail her with a ticket. He probably sits there all day. Its just another revenue generator for local government. Its a very serious ticket because they threaten to restrict or suspend your license ( its all about kids safety right?lol) Plus she works as a nanny and submits to background checks. she was interviewing with a couple when this happened and this ticket came up in a check on care.org and they suspended my wife's account like she was guilty!!! what happen to innocent until proven guilty. it was a real mess.
Sal got it changed to a changing lanes violation with online drivers improvement school and a probation period. These over paid ticket maid are out to nail you and generate revenue for the local government. thats their real job. Do not let them steal from you. You have rights. Hire Sal!
To end a bright note the couple hired my wife with a four year contract. They said everyone knows what the cops are up to so it didn't bother them in the least.

I was recommended to work with Justin on my "highly contested" divorce with a raging narcissist. It had been 8 months and the needle hadn't moved an inch. Justin came in and he accomplished what my last attorney couldn't. It was 3 months in the working of getting my home back while my ex moved out and the house was vacant. Two days into hiring Justin, opposing counsel answered his emails after not receiving any response for 3 months regarding the issue. Just merely hiring Justin provided an upper hand in my case. He walks tall and carries a big stick. The courtroom is an attorney of people who know each other and it seems that everyone knows Justin. His law firm is definitely known as my realtor mentioned it when she heard his name. Regardless, I am a week in to having Justin as my lawyer and I already feel more confident with him on my side, he's achieved as much if not more in that time frame than the last attorney, and he seems sincere and legit. If you have a difficult divorce with a lying maniac then you probably have Leah Setzen as your opposing counsel attorney. Justin is the one to make it right. I am shocked there aren't more reviews.

I own my own business. My divorce was complicated because I wanted to keep my business, stay in the house, maximize my time with the kids and only pay what was legally required to my ex. Chuck got the job done promptly, and while the process was expensive it cost far less than it could have. This is the guy for your divorce. Great office staff too! The only real danger is that you don't hire him before your spouse retains him. I would definitely not want him on the other side of my case.

I was referred to Will and could not be happier. I've dealt with lawyers for 40 years in business, but this was my first family law situation and Will was outstanding. Will is an amazingly good legal mind but also a great person. Our family law case was not a common situation, but Will handled everything extremely well. HIs legal competency is unquestionable, and his understanding of people and the related dynamics is exemplary. Will does not hesitate to tell you the truth, but his work is 100% aimed at getting you the results you are seeking. One of the other characteristics I respect about Will is that he actually thought about both sides in the case so we could get to a practical result. Our case had many ups and downs but Will took them in stride, kept us informed and calm, and then did fantastic legal work. Will was 100% on our side but he was extremely practical in how we achieved that goal. Will is easy to talk to, easy to work with, and very thorough. First, let me begin by saying I have never written a review before but felt the need to write this review on behalf of Will Stogsdill and the Stogsdill Law Firm. I walked into the Stogsdill Law firm in June of 2015 and after meeting with Bill and Will Stogsdill for a few hours, I knew I went to the right place. Eighteen months later, I still believe (and know) it was the best decision that I made.
1. Customer Service - I will say that their service is what I would call "white glove". Both Bill and Will were always there for me and always took my phone call, independent of the hour of the day (because when the s--t hits the fan, it's never at a convenient time). They were with me every step of the way and I'm happy to say that have just completed an 18 month battle in Dupage County divorce court and couldn't be happier with the level of service and personal attention I received.
2. Knowledgeable about the Law- Will and Bill were nothing but stellar and were incredibly knowledgeable about the law (and every detail of my case). I never once had to explain anything to them twice and there was always an understanding of legal process and procedures. When I called to speak with them, they had already read all of the emails/correspondence and we didn't ever have to waste time on the background.
3. Understanding & Compassionate - Will in particular was incredibly compassionate about my circumstances and always tried to help and make accommodations, especially keeping up with the bills. His empathy is one of the reasons he's such an amazing attorney.
4. I needed to provide one additional comment about Will in particular because while he's more junior than Bill in terms of years of experience, he was just as good at trial (trust me, I saw him in action), legal strategy, ALWAYS went the extra mile. Not once did he ever back down or make me feel like I was imposing on him (and there were many weekend calls and texts).
I have since recommended them to many in my network. Hire them. They are an incredible firm and Will and Bill are second to none!

I hired Will after hearing glowing recommendations about Stogsdill Law Firm as being the "Cream of the Crop" when considering Family Law legal representation in Dupage/Will County. After seeing him argue in court, I would say you would be wasting time trying to find another law firm in The STATE of Illinois that is more sharp! I have watched him argue motions while veteran Attorneys (25+years) sit-in the courtroom, listening, smiling, whispering and nodding their heads in approval, at how well prepared he is. His presence in the courtroom is impeccable; his command of the law (in the most difficult kinds of cases) demands respect from opposing counsel.

Wonderful Professional man. Joel was there for me after my car accident. Making a decision to file bankruptcy is nerve wrecking, a different kind of stress. Mr. Stephen is knowledge coupled with immeasurable customer service that helped to ease the stress. He is very thorough in explaining the options. He is not forceful. He wants to make sure your are comfortable with the decision that will best fit your financial situation. His patience and follow through helped make filing bankruptcy more accepting. Once it was all said and final, I reflect back on his services and realize that he helped to change my life. I hired Megan Harris for my divorce and custody case. Megan helped me obtain custody of my 3 young children. I think that's a huge feat for a dad in the first place. Issues arose post divorce and re-hired megan and she was there for me every step of the way. She is always available, she even was available for me on weekends. She will fight for you, communication is immediate, she will help you see the reality of the situation, and help facilitate agreements so not to drag things out of no reason. Thank you doesn’t seem enough for all that Bill Stogsdill and Brett Williamson have done not only for me, but my children as well. When I first met both of these gentlemen, each presented themselves with such self confidence I instantly knew these were the attorneys to represent both my children’s and my interests. Their knowledge of the law, the court system and taking the time to understand my situation and what was most important to me was outstanding.
Although my case was not a million dollar case, both Bill and Brett treated it as if it were. I was continuously encouraged to be apart of my case, not just a “victim” of circumstance. They allowed me to help them help me. Documents created by me at their request helped my case.
Bill was a Bulldog during trial. Bill did not only have superior knowledge of the law, but the knowledge of every detail of my case was impressive. It was abundantly clear, Bill was prepared for trial.
Organized and detailed are just a couple of words I would use to describe Brett. He not only showed this before trial, but during trial. Before Bill could ask for a specific exhibit, Brett was already handing it to him!
From the most mundane tasks to the most important, I was continuously informed about my case. The approach taken by both of these attorneys, was to be proactive and reactive. Both Bill and Brett took the time to explain my options, what is my children’s best interest and mine, and more importantly, understood some of the tough choices I had to make. Although we may have had our disagreements at times, we always talked through the decisions that needed to be made. More importantly, we were always a united front. I trusted my attorneys implicitly and in the end, I’m so glad I did!
The Assistants in the office were always so helpful, friendly, outgoing and completely understanding regarding the roller coasters of emotions I felt during this process. I truly appreciate their kindness and respect for the sensitivity of the process.
I hired Bill on paper, but in reality the entire law firm was essential to my case. On the one occasion when Bill could not appear at a court hearing, Bob Boyd appeared. I was nervous not to have Bill at court, but Bob quickly laid my fears to rest.
This has been the toughest time in my life. But I am thankful everyday Bill was on the same side of the table as I was and not sitting a cross from me. During the course of this divorce, it was comforting to know that both Bill and Brett were protecting, defending and fighting for what was best for my children and me.

Brett was everything one wants in a divorce lawyer: attentive, responsive, knowledgeable on current laws, professional, courteous and a stellar advocate for me. I made a huge mistake in switching to a much less (in every category) lawyer to "save money", all to my severe detriment. I ended up paying so much more money in legal fees AND in the end, to my ex. If you want to get your divorce DONE and done properly, expeditiously and with a lawyer who has brains and class, hire Brett. Don't make the mistakes I did--stay with the best and most qualified.
