I was referred to Joe from a friend that used him, and I am so glad we hired Joe. He helped us navigate a year long battle with my narcissistic ex and the trying opposing counsel my ex hired.
Joe is NOT a lawyer that is a money grabber and tries to extend the case as long as possible. He did everything he could to try to move our case along in the system, because he actually cares about his clients (I know, a shocker in the lawyer world!) He was honest and patient with us, and responded in a timely matter for calls and emails.
I felt that he billed us very fairly as well (I went through 3 lawyers in my first court case, and some of them billed for the most ridiculous things). Near the last 3/4 of our case, it was financially rough to pay in full for a few of the bigger court date months. Joe was extremely understanding and let us do a payment plan which helped a lot and we were very grateful for. Not everyone is willing to do this, so it truly shows Joe is compassionate and sympathetic to what his clients are dealing with financially and emotionally during an already stressful time.
Mornings before court status, Joe would call me to make sure he had all the facts correct and we would go over a quick synopsis of what he was going to bring up to the judge. He argued well for my case, and stood up for the best interest of my child. There were a few things I was stubborn on when I shouldn't have been, and Joe would calmly explain to me what he thought was the best route to take and why. He never spoke down to me in these instances and treated me as an equal. I did listen to his advice and I am really glad I did.
I started out with what he said was, "one of the worst agreements I've ever seen" and we got it to a much, much better place. Some of this was due to my ex making extremely poor decisions and the GAL realizing my ex was not going to change, but Joe helped in crafting a well written agreement. When the GAL gave us her recommendation synopsis, it was a hastily written, poorly worded document. She left out so much of what we had talked about and what she said she recommended in front of the judge. I basically crafted the entire final agreement, and put in almost everything Joe had written in his original draft. In the end, we did not have to go to trial and my ex lost a lot of his decision making abilities and visitation.
Lastly, I appreciated Joe's legal assistants. They were always very kind and helpful. Whenever I needed something, they usually responded very quickly which I really appreciated.
TLDR:
-Joe will argue well for you and not waste your money
-Joe will try to move your case along as best he can in the very slow court system
-Joe actually cares for his clients

Joe is an outstanding attorney and was successful in securing my first win in my challenging family law case.
Before working with Joe, I had three previous attorneys who were unable to overcome the litigious nature of the other party that would throw everything at the wall to see what would stick.
Joe is incredibly knowledgeable, understands the statute and case law inside and out, and can properly assess the situation.
His billing is always fair and transparent, which has been a change of pace from a prior attorney that would overcharge.
Most importantly, Joe genuinely cares about you as a person, not just as another case file.

I came to Michael during what can only be called the worst period of my life. Going through a divorce is hard enough but at the same time my daughter was being treated for cancer and there was a pandemic going on. He was always calm and clear and helped me to do the same, taking me step by step through what seemed like an unmanageable process. These never really end well for the people involved but I was able to come away with my dignity and confidence intact with his help.

Dan Collins. I’m making this post out of free will. I wasn’t asked from anyone to make this review.
I am making this review because I want everyone looking for an attorneys support to stop and call Dan. I’ve known Dan for about 7 years I want to say. I’m 4 years from 30. I was referred by my sister who was referred by everyone else in the dupage area that she knows who’ve had from traffic violations, dui to so much more.
Dan is honestly the absolute best, he’s got the type of personality that makes you comfortable. He’s the
most reliable, the most caring, the most understanding, the most motivated, the most intelligent , honest, lawyer I’ve ever had. I’ve had lawyers before for the same cases that I had to hire Dan for because the previous attorneys gave me option that I couldn’t take. Dan gave me better option. Ever since I’ve had him represent me, he has helped me tremendously from life lessons to not extreme results to my consequences.
Dan is for the people 1000% and I’m not the only one who has said this. Dan is a my Harvey Specter.

I received a DUI last December.
Once in the system , I received dozens of letters, testimonials, and resumes from attorneys soliciting my business, to represent me in court for my case.
I chose Ingrid based on her experience and background.
That was a Huge and Costly Mistake.
Once Ingrid took my money, she became next to impossible to reach.
Every time I called her office her subordinates would screen my call and gave me a myriad of excuses why Ingrid wasn't available to talk to me.
When I did finally talk to her she was very condescending and provided little incite to what the next step(s) would be.
The outcome was terrible, and I have to believe it would have been different with better representation.
This was my first and last experience with this type of thing.
I was relying on my attorney to keep me apprised of what to expect.
Lesson learned!

The best way to describe her is Shakespeare's character of ''Shylock'' in The Merchant of Venice. In 2024, I hired her for a DCFS hearing before an administrative judge and after collecting my hard earned money, she changed completely! As an Attorney she was supposed to carry out interviews prior to the hearing to help give my case a chance, but she didn't. During the hearing I was the one that brought one person to support me. My advice to anyone, DO NOT HIRE her, she will do TERRIBLE JOB!!!!

Alex Rothenberg served as the court-appointed GAL (Guardian ad Litem) in my case, and my experience with her was deeply troubling. Despite initially appearing engaged by asking questions and taking notes, she failed to address any of my concerns, displayed a clear bias toward my ex-wife, and accepted her statements as truth without requiring any supporting evidence.
Alex prematurely removed herself from the case, leaving critical issues unresolved and contributing to an outcome where my daughter has been denied fair and equal time with both parents. Her actions violated several key statutes and guidelines that GALs are required to follow in Illinois, including:
750 ILCS 5/506(a)(2): GALs must conduct an independent investigation, including interviews and a review of relevant documents, and provide an objective recommendation to the court. Alex failed to conduct a thorough investigation or verify evidence, instead relying on unchecked statements from my ex-wife.
Best Interest of the Child Standard (750 ILCS 5/602.7): GALs are required to prioritize the child’s well-being and ensure meaningful relationships with both parents unless there is clear evidence to the contrary. Alex’s biased and incomplete recommendations directly harmed my daughter’s ability to have a fair and balanced relationship with both parents.
Ethical Obligations of Attorneys and GALs: GALs are required to avoid personal bias, remain neutral, and act in a professional manner that serves the child’s best interests. Alex’s personal bias against me was evident and unprofessional, resulting in recommendations that prioritized her own prejudice over the needs of a 5-year-old child.
To make matters worse, Alex’s conduct was part of a broader pattern within her firm. Other members of her firm displayed similarly unethical behavior, including inflated billing practices, misrepresentations to the court, and a general failure to uphold professional standards.
Alex’s unprofessional and unethical behavior, combined with her failure to follow required statutes, caused irreparable harm to my daughter’s well-being. Her actions were not only a disservice to the court but also a direct violation of the trust placed in her to act in the best interests of the child.
Avoid Alex Rothenberg and her entire firm. Their lack of professionalism, integrity, and accountability makes them unfit for any legal matter, particularly those involving children.

She is very responsive which is very rare with most attorneys. So, she created a Power of Attorney for me which is very specific and was time sensitive. I was impressed by her attention to detail and how she explained legal things that were new to me, made it easier to understand and educate me at the same time.
She is sincere and showed me that she cares for her client(s).
But the best thing was she was able to provide me with the revised/final POA in less than a day!!!

I would absolutely recommend Henry and the MKFM firm to all my friends and family. My case was a contested adoption and ended up also including a side appeal case as well. It was an extremely long and litigious case that required patience, expertise and attention to detail. We won our case handedly and we would not have without Henry's extensive knowledge in case law, brilliant trial composure and overall calm, composed and very confident demeanor. I came to Henry with a divorce case previously handled by another attorney that was extremely long, complicated, and for which there was no similar precedent. Add to that a change in the divorce law while in process, and the complexity magnified. I truly believe had it not been for Henry's intelligence, tenacity, deep understanding/amazing total recall of the law, and spirited desire to make things right, my outcome would have been financially and psychologically disastrous. I was the successor trustee for my deceased aunt's trust. Midway through the process the original attorney handling the trust left the law firm and Colleen Henes was assigned to us. Although we never met in person, we were able to conduct our business via email until completion. Colleen was always up on everything and responded to my emails in a timely manner, even on weekends. Attorney Miglore is THE G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Times) when it comes to Criminal Law. He was able to do what others said would NEVER EVER happen. My spouse had an issue that he was grandfathered into when the laws changed which was out of state that required him to register as a sex offender. We lived in Illinois for a brief period and to be in compliance with the law he had to register. The out of state Judge granted an order to remove him from the registry nationally. Since we lived in Illinois briefly, he was on the registry and was told that he would be on the Ilinois registry for the rest of his life, even though we don't reside there anymore. My wife received a ticket for not properly stopping by a school bus in a school zone. it was total B.S. she was stopped the bus was moving with his sign out! Naturally there was a ticket maid from the government to watch and nail her with a ticket. He probably sits there all day. Its just another revenue generator for local government. Its a very serious ticket because they threaten to restrict or suspend your license ( its all about kids safety right?lol) Plus she works as a nanny and submits to background checks. she was interviewing with a couple when this happened and this ticket came up in a check on care.org and they suspended my wife's account like she was guilty!!! what happen to innocent until proven guilty. it was a real mess.
Sal got it changed to a changing lanes violation with online drivers improvement school and a probation period. These over paid ticket maid are out to nail you and generate revenue for the local government. thats their real job. Do not let them steal from you. You have rights. Hire Sal!
To end a bright note the couple hired my wife with a four year contract. They said everyone knows what the cops are up to so it didn't bother them in the least.

I was recommended to work with Justin on my "highly contested" divorce with a raging narcissist. It had been 8 months and the needle hadn't moved an inch. Justin came in and he accomplished what my last attorney couldn't. It was 3 months in the working of getting my home back while my ex moved out and the house was vacant. Two days into hiring Justin, opposing counsel answered his emails after not receiving any response for 3 months regarding the issue. Just merely hiring Justin provided an upper hand in my case. He walks tall and carries a big stick. The courtroom is an attorney of people who know each other and it seems that everyone knows Justin. His law firm is definitely known as my realtor mentioned it when she heard his name. Regardless, I am a week in to having Justin as my lawyer and I already feel more confident with him on my side, he's achieved as much if not more in that time frame than the last attorney, and he seems sincere and legit. If you have a difficult divorce with a lying maniac then you probably have Leah Setzen as your opposing counsel attorney. Justin is the one to make it right. I am shocked there aren't more reviews.
