This law office has been the biggest breath of fresh air for my partner and I. I seriously do not know where we would be without them. Immigration law can be a very complex and nerve-wrecking thing. But from the moment I first talked with Fred and his team they were incredibly understanding to my situation.
This review alone does not justify how helpful and amazing they have been but I hope it shines a light on how amazing they are. We are very fortunate to have people like them specializing in such a complicated profession and do it in a way that feels less stressful through thorough detail, and kindness/friendliness.
One of my biggest worries when finding a law office to help us was that they would not listen to me in detail and just want the 'shortened' version of things rather than understanding the full range of the situation and what led to our nail-biting situations.
Fred and Stephany carefully listened to every single thing I had to say, and I honestly felt as if they cared for my partner and I as if we were their close-family. I genuinely felt a connection with them and felt that they wanted the best for us.
It's hard to explain that connection over a review, but your best bet is to find out for yourself. I highly suggest that if you are seeking for legal advice to please consider their office and find out for yourself why the office is so highly reputable. To ask for help is difficult
To ask someone to help you fight with you against horrible people is harder.
Blooms form specialises on fighting for survivors of sexual assault. And they doing an amazing work for survivors. They empower you. When I contact them I was broken, and I don’t feel that anymore.

My divorce was fairly straightforward, we were not fighting over anything and Robert guided me with information I needed in order to make the best decisions for my children and myself. When I set up my appointment to meet with him, he suggested I make notes so that I stay on track and get the most out of our meeting and I never felt rushed and he was fully participatory in our meeting, this wasn't 'just another meeting'. His knowledge of family law, of what options I had and what my rights are felt almost tailormade for me. I will forever be grateful to him for his kindness and compassion while also being a versed attorney and was able to make suggestions that actually saved me money and assisted in me obtaining my divorce. I was involved (starting in 2004) in a probate case with another lawyer.
I spent the next 5 years trying to get him to be a lawyer. He was very incompetent and the experience was horrible.
I needed someone to help me out of the mess the other lawyer created.
And it was a mess and complicated by this time.
I found Eric Gordon by a referral, and from that day my entire case began to look like something that We could resolve.
Eric shared with me all the unethical actions of the other lawyer.
Once he took on my case it all came together in MY favor.
Eric walked with me through the legal system steps and all that he needed to do so that I always knew what was going on. Huge for me since the other lawyer was impossible to get return calls and emails from.
Besides his total professionalism, Eric was available to me on every level. I felt watched out for and cared about as a real human being.
He goes the extra mile to do what is necessary . A rare trait these days.

Dana Urick was my divorce attorney for six years. I know that this is an unusually long time, but that is what happens with a complicated divorce. Dana was wonderful to work with. She was caring, smart, dedicated, and honest. She was also very articulate and driven to get a divorce agreement that would suit my children and me. At the time of my separation, I was a stay at home mom and had stopped working for seven years. Dana encouraged me to go back to school and get a master's degree, which I am grateful for. Dana is very approachable and easy to talk with, yet she is fierce in the court room. She was actually the second lawyer that I hired to work on my case, after the first lawyer cost me a lot of money and did not help much. I googled pro-Bono attorneys, since I’m a full time single mom right now and up against a wealthy abusive ex. Even though it turned out Navid doesn’t work pro bono, he still generously and patiently answered all of my questions. He calmed me down and even though he had a trial the next day he generously gave me an hour of his time, which I’m very grateful for! He is professional and knowledgeable. But most importantly compassionate and caring. Though we all need to make a living he isn’t driven by $$$ only, but rather by being of help to parents in difficult situations.

After a 20 year marriage, my ex-husband and I used Ty Supancic as our mediator. He explained our options clearly and patiently. He promptly answered all emails and phone calls. Even though I went into my divorce thinking it would be a "walk in the park", there were many important things (sale of family home, spousal support, medical insurance) that I needed to understand more realistically and less emotionally. I was referred to The Law Collaborative (TLC) by a colleague. I grew even more interested in working with the firm when I learned its mission is to help clients pursue the most peaceful and cost-effective solutions for separation, divorce, and nullity matters. TLC promotes negotiation and mediation over expensive court battles. I support this approach to navigating the emotionally difficult seas of family law, and wanted to be able to rely upon the skills of the attorneys at TLC to help manage the hostility I expected to face as I made public the facts about my ex-husband. From the first time I met Ty Supancic I was impressed by his intelligence, honesty, kindness, and good-natured personality. After we discussed and evaluated my options, I chose to pursue a nullity. A divorce would have been an easier and cheaper route for me to take. However, divorces only allow one to state “irreconcilable differences” as the reasons for the death of the marriage. Since this was not an accurate depiction of the facts, I decided to file for a nullity. From the start I was advised that obtaining a nullity would be a challenge. A nullity enables one to outline the chronology of events and list the specific causes (and explain why one party is at fault) for the end of the marriage, and thus allows one to present a more comprehensive case to the court. However, judges still very rarely grant them. It was clear to me that we were facing an uphill battle. However, I felt confident that I was in good hands with Ty as my representative and advocate. I worked closely with him for months gathering and reviewing the evidence for inclusion in my case, and assisting with the development of the legal documents. Ty is an extremely gifted writer, so this actually made the process enjoyable for me. He was able to consistently and accurately reflect my perspectives in his prose. Ty was also highly responsive to me during all of our communications about the case. I would receive replies to my emails within minutes sometimes, and he always made time to take my telephone calls. He answered at length every question I ever posed, and even took the time to explain larger legal concepts to me. In addition, Ty went to extraordinary lengths to accommodate my schedule for the few times we needed to meet in person. He even spent five hours with me finalizing the court documents and organizing the evidence for the nullity the day before the law office needed to be packed and moved to a new location. He never once tried to rush me or act like he had anywhere else to be but there working on my case. I am pleased to say we obtained the nullity shortly after filing our legal documents in court! The partners in the law firm said it was the first time in their collective 60 plus years of practicing law that they had ever seen a nullity granted so swiftly and based on the strength of the legal documents alone. Customarily a “prove-up” hearing is required with witnesses called to provide testimony. Here is an excerpt from a thank you letter I wrote to Ty following our legal victory: “I am so overwhelmed with gratitude that words are not sufficient to show my appreciation for your work at this moment. So, I will simply say again that I have been tremendously blessed to have you represent me and advocate for me in this nullity. Ty, your unsurpassed intelligence, legal skills, work ethic, sense of humor, unwavering kindness, and cheerful personality truly brought out the best in me. I developed great confidence in your abilities, and this allowed me to focus on the sometimes emotionally difficult process. Equally important to me was feeling encouraged and supported by you every step of the way. Your positive outlook kept me from becoming undermined by doubt, or entertaining any fear that I was "wasting" time and money on my pursuit of what I knew were worthy goals. You worked tirelessly and patiently with me for months during this labor-intensive process." Ty is highly recommended.

Mr. Supancic wrote our prenup and my husband and I swear it is one of the reasons we have such a good marriage. He made us talk about and plan for things we probably wouldn't have on our own. I have been dealing with attorney's for all of my life and I trust this lawfirm like I trust my family. Anytime I have ever had an issue they were quick to come to bat for me and they always produced the best result. I found Christopher Melcher's name while feverishly researching IRS codes etc., regarding alimony and mortgage contributions. My ex-husband was insisting that I claim not only my spousal support for the entire 2012 tax year as income (which I knew about and was prepared to do) but also his "mortgage contributions" as well.
My ex gave me 40% of the mortgage monthly for the "marital home" from January 2012 to October 2012. This was home, not only to myself, but to our children as well. Both my ex and I were on the deed and the mortgages. I never imagined that mortgage consideration would be taxable to me!
My own attorny was zero help on this. After 2 grueling years of being his annuity, I wasn't surprised that once again, he was unable to give me a definitive answer. That's why I set out on a mission to understand the divorce and IRS tax laws on my own, which quite frankly, is comparable to my becoming a physicist. But I persevered, and came across a terrific article on the topic by Mr. Melcher. I was so impressed with this article that I decided to contact him, even though we were in different states. I was hoping that since this was a federal tax income issue, he might still be able to help me regardless of where I lived.
I am not only happy that I reached out to Chris-- but I'm ecstatic! He responded immediately to my online inquiry and he asked me to email him all the various court orders. I emailed the files and he wrote back-- again on that same day---outlining his advice, answering all my questions concisely and thoroughly.
Thanks to Chris's keen perusal of my 3 court orders, he caught something that I would have never realized (and sadly neither would my own attorney). The one court order that was executed in June of 2012 had modified the September 2011 court order, and made it "retroactive" to September 2011. Chris explained that the IRS will not recognize that type of modification, retroactively. The June 2012 order was modifying the older order for child support, keeping the amount of money the same, but changing the breakdown from all child support to child, spousal and mortgage contribution. Chris explained that the IRS would only recognize the order that was in place at the time of the payments. So.....now this meant that EVERYTHING my ex paid me prior to June 2012--in the eyes of the IRS---would be considered ALL child support!
He also weighed in on the mortgage consideration issue, explaining that since my ex was also on the mortgage at the time of those payments, they were not spousal support, and that it would be a very difficult case for my ex to make. He confirmed my thinking that I should not take those payments as income, and suggested how I could give my ex his "fair portion" of the mortgage interest. This will now be a very small amount since, as Chris pointed out, according to the court documents, there was no mortgage contributions ordered until mId year! Can you say KARMA?!
Chris and I exchanged a couple of emails and we had one phone call (which by the way he made to me while on his family vacation!). Chris is obviously extremely sharp, extremely knowledgable, very kind and he was very generous with his time.
I was also very impressed that on all of Chris's emails, his cell phone is listed along with his other contact info! Very unusual, and I think that says a lot.
Moral of the story? Trust your instincts, be your own advocate, don't be bullied, do your homework, and call Chris Melcher.
If I had a "re-do"- I would live in CA and hire Chris to handle my whole divorce!

Ms. Kohannim began working with me after I had to fire two attorneys. They had dug a hole so deep, I did not know what to do. It is my deepest regret that I did not know of her at the beginning of my custody battle. Ms. Kohannim is a talented, astute, and shrewd attorney. Her thoroughness out distanced any other attorney I have seen throughout this horrible experience. She is not only a gifted attorney, but, she also deeply deeply cares. Robert Borsky pulled it in, got control, then got it done, instead of taking me for a ride. My only regret besides having to go through this travesty called “Family Law”, is not engaging Robert Borsky from the very beginning.”
My divorce took 6 long years to finish from February 2008 to January 2014.
Seven attorneys later, it was the divorce from hell that would not end.
Having to thank the corrupted “Industry” of California Family Law for that, too much time, energy and all of my resources were completely wasted, only to see my entire family become the victims.
I’ve experienced the “super attorney” who was only super at keeping me on the clock as they dragged their feet with delay after delay, only to satisfy their own financial interests, to the attorney who was very hard working and honest but lacked courtroom savvy/experience and the ability to get things done.
The other five attorneys were everything else in between.
My case was a train running out of control because of bad and/or dishonest representation (or lack of).
I met Robert Borsky at a workshop he was heading in 2008 that offered assistance to those who wanted to educate themselves on the subject and process of divorce.
I liked his workshop and message and decided to give him a call after being betrayed and abandoned by attorney number 6.
My brief experience with Mr. Borsky was a very positive one.
Besides being very accessible, he was always well prepared in our meetings both in and out of court and would exercise his ability to collaborate and contribute good ideas which complimented his knowledge of family law and my case.
Always fair and honest and fully engaged, he also shared a sensitivity level that really helped me rebuild my confidence towards a resolution to my case especially after six laborious years of litigation.
Additionally, he had no problem exercising his bravado in court or asserting himself when dealing with the rouge antics of opposing counsel.
In short, I was represented.

Looking for a family lawyer was not fun. My fiancé was not happy with so many of them. But Cynthia was highly recommended by another attorney who was very busy, so we decided to call her. It was the right call. This is one woman who does not let the grass grow under her feet.
