We used Paul Kaplan's office to sell our house in New Haven. We had relocated across country before we had a chance to sell it, so we had to sell it remotely. Fortunately, we found some wonderful people to buy it and could do a for-sale-by-owner (FSBO) transaction, but we needed a capable seller's attorney's office to handle all the paperwork for us. The entire transaction was as smooth as it could possibly be. Paul's office was very competent. We gave Paul a limited power-of-attorney to handle the transaction for us. Aside for a last minute scurry to find a notary public here (hint: use Yelp) here, there really weren't any problems at all. Anytime I had any questions at all, I knew that I could call Paul or toss him an e-mail and he'd call me right back. After closing, Paul's office wired the balance of funds as soon as they settled the books (one business day!). Because of wire fraud, they were careful to make sure I was really me, and my bank account was really mine, which I appreciated. Over all, I couldn't have been happier. Well, I could have been. I would have liked to have shaked the hands of Paul and his team for doing such a great job. What could have been a stressful situation (remotely selling a house) was instead a dream. Now we have the funds to fix the fixer-upper we bought on the west coast!
