My husband and I hired Jonathan after having a dispute with a contractor. This was the first time either one of us had ever hired a lawyer. Jonathan was highly recommended by a colleague and we immediately understood why. I texted him requesting urgent help on a Thursday night as our issue was time sensitive. He responded that evening and by Friday morning, we had hired him. He was able to efficiently gather enough information to start addressing our urgent concern that Friday afternoon. Within the week, our situation was resolved to our satisfaction. His responsiveness and professionalism was outstanding. He helped set expectations and educate us. He was upfront about expected costs for our case and when we ended up exceeding that, he honored his initial quote. We are in the middle of an adoption and he told us to take the difference of the quote and actual cost of his services and apply it towards the adoption. It was not expected and he certainly was not obligated to do this but was greatly appreciated. If we ever need a lawyer again, we will not hesitate to reach out. My job was eliminated after 18 yrs. I was 1 of 3 over age 60 eliminated. Since there were new employees and less seniority employees , i felt i was let go unfairly with age discrimination. Jonathan fought for a new severance contract against the medical corporation and won. He achieved double the severance i was offered per "their protocol" that was unfair. We had gone through a foreclosure process with our bank over three years ago when the bank dismissed the case. After almost a year and a half with no word the bank filed again. We had received a "mailer" advertising this attorney and contacted her two days before needing a response for the courts. I found Steve to be personal and professional simultaneously. This is a feat for most of us, with lawyers being either one or the other and often neither. Steve was focused on my case and successfully found a Chapter 7 solution when the means test made it look improbable.
Steve didn't "sugar coat" the situation, and was very upfront even when he had to say something I didn't necessarily want to hear. There were no "suprises" along the way. Steve was able to mitigate the stress level associated with bankruptcy; which was a tremendous help.
From the standpoint of value, Steve's fees were very reasonable especially considering the level of responsiveness, personal service and results provided. I didn't feel like I was part of a "bankruptcy mill" or being given only cursory attention. In part, I believe, that this is because Steve is a single lawyer firm....bigger isn't always better.
I highly recommend Steve!

Mr. Cotter was able to file a chapter 7 without issues when other bankruptcy lawyers thought it wasn't possible due to the means test. He did not give up when there was clearly a need for bankruptcy protection and researched all aspects of the law to find a solution. If it wasn't for his excellent research skills my financial situation would be very bleak indeed.

I speak to the people who are looking for an attorney who is able to first of all be honest and give an accurate evaluation of your money being spent wisely. We then spoke about how things would play out in the amount of court time, phone calls (BILLED IN QUARTERLY BY THE HOUR) and one on one office strategy meetings. Attorney Cotter before taking one dollar from me, sent me to a tax advisor to see if i would be responsible for the liability if we lost the case. I had seen two other attorneys all saying I had no chance of WINNING, Attorney Cotter saw a posibility and he won my day. He is on his own with a wealth of knowledge and I think this was a key to the success. If you seek one on one personal service and do not care to be a part of the lawyer factory, I am on a 4 month holiday and that is as good as it gets! GOOD LUCK who ever you choose.

As first time going through bankruptcy we were not sure what to expect from the process much less who to trust. Greg explained each step and all fees involved before we even hired him. During the process he was always quick answer our calls and kept us informed all along the way. Never made us feel bad just always there to answer our questions. He even sent us all the necessary info needed for what to do after the bankruptcy was finished. From the beginning he was ethical trustworthy and very competent. I had a legal sitution that festered for over five years. Complicating the matter was that I received a judgement in another state and my opponent sought to evade payment in Wisconsin. This mattered little to Mr. Thill. He quickly registered our judgement in Wisconsin and began proceedings. What impressed me the most was that Mr. Thill kept at it no matter what my opponent attempted, tried, or said. I had recently had an unfortunate matter involving property and family. Sadly the situation could not be resloved without the need for legal intervention. I had a lot of credit card debt, and I managed to pay every month, but I could never get ahead. When my income went down during the pandemic, I knew I was a hare's breath from having my debt overwhelm me. As a responsible person, I was embarrassed and scared about filing for bankruptcy. The decision to file was hard, but, with Kirk's help, actually filing was MUCH easier than I ever could have hoped. My initial contact was with another lawyer at his firm, but I was assigned to Kirk for my first meeting. He is calm, funny, non-judgmental, efficient and absolutely reassuring. From the first meeting where we discussed my financial situation, he made me feel I was making the right decision. He told me what was going to happen and what records I needed to provide. He always answered my questions quickly, and I know he did a LOT of work on his end to make my Chapter 7 bankruptcy happen. I really trust him - he's dedicated to providing good service and doing the job right. If you're considering bankruptcy to discharge debt, but you're scared of what it will take, talk to Kirk. I do not recommend this law firm.

Ben Wright was a great help for information on Medicaid and how trusts work. My mom and I went to find out information about applying for Medicaid for my dad and how the trust on my grandparents house worked, and he was very patient and answered all of our questions. I picked her based on the reviews, but If I could redo this process, I certainly would and wouldn't choose this attorney for something this important and life-altering. She was evasive, not very informative, and since working with her, I am no more informed than I was prior to hiring Deborah. She rarely responds to correspondences too, even with the various modes of communication these days. There seemed to be a correlation between the timeliness of her responses versus getting payment. After receiving payment, she was difficult to make contact with. I regret hiring her for something so important.

Navigating through the legal system can seem to be an overwhelming task. When my wife and I needed legal help we contacted Mr. Bugni for help. Mr. Bugni sat down with us, took notes, and devised a plan with his assistant Trinity on how best to address our situation.
