I contacted this number for help with a DMV hearing. I was told it was going to be 200$ to get started with pulling records and going over them. All pretty standard except how little I actually got for the 200$. Spent maybe an hour on the phone for 3 minutes of information. Then I was quoted 2k for the hearing help. I would look down the street.

Jonathan was referred to me by a friend. He was very attentive, answered all my questions in a promptly manner, and was able to examine at the evidence that I provided and built a great case for me. Most importantly, he acted in the best of my interest and provided great counsel in my case. I highly recommend him and will definitely come back to him again in the future if I have any legal questions.

Jonathan Vogel is an outstanding attorney who communicates well and cares about his clients. His strategy is quite versatile: he can take an aggressive or low-key approach depending on what the situation requires. He is incredibly well-versed in the law, and he will take time to thoroughly research and understand your case so he can be a fierce advocate for you. He listens to his clients and puts their priorities first. My case was very complicated. It involved many individuals and classes at a large university, but he was quick to sort out the important details. Less than three weeks after taking my case, everything was resolved in my favor, and he didn’t even use the entire retainer! I highly recommend Jonathan Vogel for any educational issue. He will represent you well. Susan Nelson

Jonathan worked with me while dealing with a code of conduct issue at my college. He was extremely supportive, hard-working, and thoughtful during the time we worked together to navigate the judicial process at my school. Thanks to Jonathan's efforts, the issue was resolved in my favor. I highly recommend Jonathan to any student who needs support protecting his or her rights-- I could not have hired a better attorney.

1st Mr.Schupp is very reasonably priced and made a payment plan that I personally could afford. Mr. Schupp is very knowledgeable when it comes to the Nc law, Before I met Mr. Schupp I had all intentions of taking a five year prison sentence. But after are consultation I went from giving up to putting it all on the line and rolling the dice and going to trial. During trial I was absolutely impressed with the professional way he worked the court room. He made the D.A look like a public pretender. In the end I was found not guilt on all 9 charges I would recommend Mr. Schupp for all you court needs I personally will never use a different attorney ever again

I Thank God for bringing Atty Steven Walker into my life during such a trying time. He worked with such ease, authority, confidence, and CARE. He is a fine gentleman that truly CARES for his clients! His law office (Including his staff) is professional. And my friends and family could not believe that I had a lawyer that was so responsive. Don't take for granted that he actually returns your calls and email as quickly as possible - because I will tell you, he is a very busy man. But busy people who have good boundaries, and a great staff, and CARE about people, know how to manage their time - making it seem like you are the only one in the world. When my commercial landlord learned that I was not interested in taking over her property, she betrayed me and our contract by selling the property to another person and wanted me out. It brings tears to my eyes to see that the case was dismissed a year from the text where she offered to sell the place to me. Atty Steven was not having that. He fought for me and my business - allowing me to SLEEP at night and take care of my clients in the morning. All the harrassing mail and emails stopped and the changed their tune when Atty Steven told them what they could do or not do. When the new owner's construction was hell for me and my clients, Atty Walker wrote a Cease and Desist and the construction stopped! He turned the entire case upset down. How? We went from having the Plaintiff demand that I leave the property and pay some astronomical amount - to where they were begging to settle with me. This life is truly sad. I learned from this case that the Love of Money will bring out the worst in people. But hey! This battle is over. Good Lord, I AM FREE from this battle. I will overcome any other that comes my way, as well. Thank you Attorney Steven. You are my Attorney for life! Personal and Business. God truly bless you! You are a Fine Man!!

I would not hear from him nor my daughter in law would see him attend to business. Patterson Harkavy LLP claims to handle employment matters for employees, but my experience was completely the opposite. They turned me away without even bothering to do an intake to review my claim. When I tried to follow up by phone, no one ever answered. If you're dealing with legal issues, I wouldn't recommend reaching out to them—they're unresponsive, and it's clear that employment matters are not their priority. Very disappointing.

Attorney Richardson is frank, direct and goes straight to business. Something that I respect is just that. When his words to me is “What do you want to do?” That was my first sign to me he means business. Here I was thinking I’m going to meet his paralegal. Absolutely was not the case. I found myself in a room sitting in front of the attorney himself. After offering us coffee (my wife and I) the attorney went right into my case. He listens, processes all that you tell him about your case and then executes what is best for you. After our first meeting (same day) it didn’t take an hour before he had us sitting once again in his office gathering more information about my case. PHENOMENAL experience and exactly what I need. Someone who actually cares and has a personal relationship with his client.

When I made the decision to modify custody for my daughter I knew it was going to take a GREAT attorney to make it happen. I was told Courtney Hull was the woman I wanted, and boy was that information correct! Courtney is an amazing attorney who is passionate about what she does, I felt like like she was more than just my attorney but a friend! She did everything in her power to help my case and I ended up with joint custody, 50 50 after signing sole custody over to my childs father and after not seeing my child for a year. Almost unheard of right? Yet Courtney made it happen. Custody cases are always hard and your esentially putting your life in your attorneys hands which is a scary thing, but I promise you Courtney is a must you can trust! The best traffic attorney in North Carolina BY FAR. Scott is a straightforward, trustworthy, and fast-acting solution to your law-related needs. At the start of my case, what he said would happen, happened. He doesn't beat around the bush, so if he tells you your case will turn out a certain way. Then that is the way it'll turn out. His fees are provided to you with proper notice, and they're dead accurate so no need to worry about any sudden bills. He will happily answer any and all questions you may have, and doesn't make you wait for a response. Given he is most definitely the busiest traffic attorney on this end of the state, it's awesome that he still takes the time to confront any concerns or queries you present in a timely manner. 10 out of 10 experience! Thank you Scott!

David Williams was able to take my case on short notice. He was very polite and professional and represented me well in court and outside of court. Mr. Williams worked very diligently on my case while we were waiting to get back in the courtroom due to the COVID pandemic. Mr. Williams kept in contact with me via text and phone through the entire process and discussed options with me up front so there were absolutely no surprises about the case. Mr. Williams was able to work with the DA to get my case dismissed outside of the courtroom before my next court date. I would HIGHLY recommend David Williams as an attorney for anyone going further. You will NOT be disappointed. Price is right and the services are OUTSTANDING!!

Mr. Leaven represented my wife in a recent unemployment appeal. His soothing demeanor help ease the anxiety my wife was experiencing. This was the first time in a 50yr work history my wife was fired from a job and she has been awarded numerous employee of the year awards and vacation packages for her ethic and attitude. She was devastated. Mr. Leaven won the appeal and explained the step by step process of his strategy that made my wife very comfortable with him. He is thorough, methodical, and logical in his plan to pursue a rightful outcome.

I was battling for the removal of a General Officer Memo of Reprimand from early 2008. This GOMOR was filed in my Official Records preventing promotion and prompting a Show-Cause for Retention or Elimination. After 2 failed attempts with Active Duty Legal Counsel assistance appealing through the Department of Army Suitability and Evaluations Board, I decided to interview non-Military Lawyers for a final appeal through the Army Board of Corrections for Military Records. After the initial phone interview I knew he was just the right Lawyer for my purposes. As my last chance for promotion was nearing, Mr. Stockdale assisted me with excellent guidance on how to best argue my case for relief. I was expecting to hear results in 10-12 months, but was elated to discover that within 5 months, the ABCMR granted me FULL RELIEF! I cannot thank Mr. Stockdale enough nor show reserve when recommending him to others. It is with full confidence I recommend Mr. Stockdale to anyone requiring assistance in correcting military records.

I was referred to Eric Kopka by my brother-in-law, whose wife, a lawyer, highly recommended him as the best attorney in town for Marine Corps defense matters. At the time, I was facing legal issues but had no idea of the charges or the situation I was up against. Mr. Kopka guided me through the entire process, explaining what to expect and keeping both my wife and me well-informed, even before the charges were officially revealed. Once I learned that I was being falsely accused, Mr. Kopka and his paralegal acted swiftly, helping me gather all the necessary information to build my defense. On the day of my hearing, Mr. Kopka's performance at the administrative separation board was nothing short of impressive. He demonstrated extensive knowledge of my case and the legal process, and within 15 minutes of the closing statements, I was unanimously vindicated and retained, with the board finding no basis for the charges against me. I couldn't have asked for a better attorney. Even before the verdict was announced, I felt confident and at peace, knowing that Mr. Kopka had delivered a stellar defense. My only regret is not being able to give him more than five stars. Thank you, Mr. Kopka, for everything.

My really good friend was falsely accused and convicted at a court martial because he had poor legal representation from the military. I encouraged him to seek a civilian lawyer who specializes in military law. Eric Kopka and his firm was highly recommended by another good military friend of mine who had used him and had a favorable outcome. My friend hired Eric and his team to represent him at his administrative separation board. Eric and his team had three months to prepare for the board in hopes that they could appeal to the members for a possible favorable discharge or best case, retention of service in the USMC. Eric’s preparedness, attention to every detail and superior military wisdom not only proved my friend was innocent on all accounts but was able to be retained for service even after the conviction. I highly recommend Eric and his firm. It was the best decision made to hire him. If you’re looking for military representation there is no doubt in my mind that Eric is the best candidate.

In todays day and age, it is rare you find someone or a company, who is ethical, kind, and a fighter. Our family was crushed with by a dealership, with a devastating experience that occurred on a Saturday! Saturday night, I knew we would need legal service to assist us. On a Sunday, by miracle of a chance I was able tor each Mr. Stevenson. His reassurance, made a dark day a little brighter. This law firm fights for what is right, and their endless dedication to resolving matters with ease and patience is not only something I admire, but someone I will support, advocate, and share! There are not enough words to express my gratitude and appreciation for Mr. Stevenson and this firm. If you ever find yourself needing a professional attorney, I would hands down give you this recommendation. By Monday morning, Mr. Stevenson had resolved our issue, and followed through in all aspect of communication! They are beyond a 5 start rating, and if you need a strong, passionate fighter, Mr. Stevenson will hands down shake the ground of any opponent and be the force I dare anyone to reckon with. Thank you for your outstanding service you give, your not just doing a job, you are changing lives.

Steve was retained to help my business collect past due debts for work done and services provided. Specifically, we had rented road trailers, ten, to a farm operation which did not pay and it was necessary for me to repossess them. We were unable to collect based on debtor's bankruptcy. Another case involved trailer repair work performed for customer who would not pay. Not able to collect. Another case involved contract to trade a diesel farm tractor to former employee in exchange for lawn maintenance services -- which were not provided. Unable to repossess or to collect as ruled by small claims court magistrate. Steve did the best he could given the circumstances of these cases. I would not hesitate to use his services again and do recommend him to others.

We have worked with Charles for over 20 years and he has consistently guided us through challenging transitions. Most memorable was his steady guidance during an emotional contract negotiation. While we were inflamed enough to go to court, Charles had the integrity to talk us through a settlement that, while shorting his fee potential, left our firm on much stronger footing. For that, I recommend none other.

I recently have the good fortune of being referred to Mr. Powell. My case was a civil matter that was of the most importance to me and the community I live in. Mr. Powell took my case, and we won. His knowledge of law, and preparation of the facts was far superior to my opponents attorney. What a Government Lawyer Can Do for You

A government lawyer specializes in legal issues related to government policies, regulations, and disputes involving public entities. Whether you are a private individual, business, or government agency, a government lawyer provides expert guidance on navigating the complexities of government law. These attorneys handle cases ranging from constitutional law, administrative law, regulatory compliance, and government contracts to defending or challenging government actions.

Government lawyers help individuals and organizations understand their rights and obligations under the law, represent them in disputes with government agencies, and assist in matters of government contracting, procurement, or public policy.

When Should I Hire a Government Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a government lawyer in several situations involving government regulations, compliance, or disputes. Common reasons to hire a government lawyer include:

  • Government contracts and procurement: If you are bidding for or negotiating a contract with a government agency, a lawyer can help ensure compliance with federal, state, or local contracting rules.
  • Regulatory compliance: Businesses operating in highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, environmental sectors) often need legal guidance to comply with government regulations and avoid penalties.
  • Government investigations: If you're being investigated by a government agency such as the IRS, SEC, or EPA, a government lawyer can help defend you against allegations or negotiate settlements.
  • Challenging government actions: If a government agency has denied a permit, license, or benefit, a lawyer can help you appeal or challenge the decision in court.
  • Constitutional and civil rights issues: If you believe your constitutional rights have been violated by a government entity, such as in cases involving free speech or discrimination, a government lawyer can help you seek justice.
  • Public policy or lobbying efforts: If you are involved in lobbying or advocating for policy changes at the local, state, or federal level, a government lawyer can provide legal advice on compliance with lobbying laws and strategies for effective advocacy.

Hiring a government lawyer early in the process can help you navigate complex legal frameworks and avoid costly mistakes when dealing with government-related legal issues.

What Does a Government Lawyer Do?

A government lawyer provides a wide range of services that cover interactions between individuals, businesses, and government entities. They can:

  • Assist with government contracts: Helping clients navigate procurement laws, drafting contracts, and resolving disputes related to government contracting.
  • Provide regulatory compliance advice: Offering guidance on meeting regulatory requirements for industries subject to federal, state, or local laws.
  • Handle administrative law matters: Representing clients before government agencies, such as appealing administrative decisions, applying for permits, or defending against regulatory enforcement actions.
  • Challenge or defend government actions: Representing clients in lawsuits involving government agencies, including constitutional challenges, civil rights violations, or disputes over government decisions.
  • Negotiate settlements with government entities: If a government agency is pursuing legal action against you or your business, a lawyer can negotiate settlements to avoid costly litigation.
  • Advocate for policy changes: Advising clients on legal strategies for influencing public policy, including lobbying and drafting legislation.
  • Litigate constitutional issues: Handling cases related to the Constitution, such as First Amendment rights, due process violations, or unlawful government actions.

How Are Government Lawyers Paid?

Government lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the nature of the legal work involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: For ongoing legal matters, such as regulatory compliance or government contract disputes, lawyers may charge by the hour. Hourly rates can vary depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as drafting a government contract or filing an administrative appeal, some lawyers charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: For clients who need ongoing legal support, such as businesses frequently interacting with government agencies, a lawyer may charge a retainer fee. This is an upfront payment that covers future legal services.
  • Contingency fee: In some cases involving litigation, such as civil rights violations, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle the case.

It’s important to discuss fee structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Government Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a government lawyer depends on the complexity of the legal issue, the lawyer's experience, and their fee structure. Here are some general cost estimates:

  • Hourly rates: Government lawyers typically charge between $150 and $500 per hour, depending on their experience and the complexity of the case.
  • Flat fees: For specific legal services, such as drafting a government contract, flat fees can range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the nature of the service.
  • Retainer fees: A retainer for ongoing legal work with government agencies can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the scope and frequency of the work.
  • Contingency fees: In cases where a lawyer works on contingency, their fee is usually a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or damages awarded if the case is successful.

Be sure to get a clear estimate of costs during your consultation to ensure that you understand the fees associated with your case.

Top Questions to Ask a Government Lawyer

When hiring a government lawyer, it’s essential to ask the right questions to ensure they have the experience and skills needed for your specific situation. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What is your experience with government law cases?
Make sure the lawyer has substantial experience in handling cases or issues involving government agencies, regulatory compliance, or constitutional law.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Ask how the lawyer charges for their services - whether by the hour, flat fee, retainer, or contingency fee - and request an estimate of costs.
  3. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your legal options and the likelihood of success based on your specific situation.
  4. How do you handle interactions with government agencies?
Ask about their approach to dealing with government entities and their experience with specific agencies relevant to your case (e.g., IRS, EPA, SEC).
  5. Have you handled cases like mine before?
Ask about their experience with similar cases and whether they have achieved favorable outcomes in the past.
  6. Who will handle my case?
Clarify whether the lawyer you are meeting with will personally handle your case or whether junior attorneys or paralegals will do most of the work.

How to Check the Credibility of a Government Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a reputable government lawyer, follow these steps to verify their credentials and reputation:

  • Check state bar association records: Confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice in your state and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Review their professional experience: Look for specific experience in government-related legal issues, such as regulatory compliance, government contracts, or administrative law, on their website or professional profile.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check online reviews and ratings on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to get insight into the lawyer’s reputation and track record.
  • Ask for references: Request references from previous clients who have worked with the lawyer on government-related matters to understand their experience and effectiveness.
  • Check for membership in relevant organizations: Look for memberships in professional organizations such as the American Bar Association's Administrative Law Section or the National Institute of Government Procurement, which can indicate the lawyer’s focus on government law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a government lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant information and documents. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Detailed description of your legal issue: Be prepared to explain your situation, whether it’s a regulatory compliance question, a government contract issue, or a dispute with a government agency.
  • Relevant documents: Bring any paperwork related to your case, such as contracts, permits, letters from government agencies, or notices of investigation.
  • A list of questions: Write down any questions you have about your case, including the legal process, potential outcomes, and costs.
  • Timeline of events: Provide a clear timeline of any relevant events, such as the issuance of government orders or interactions with government agencies.
  • Goals for the outcome: Be ready to discuss what you hope to achieve, whether it’s a favorable settlement, regulatory compliance, or overturning a government decision.

By being organized and prepared, you can help your lawyer understand your situation more quickly and give you the best legal advice moving forward.
