RCO Law doesn't hold their bad actor attys accountable nor do they intervene, when given opportunity to correct problems such bad attys create. They take money, prepaid, to handle family estate, will, admin then WALK. Won't refund prepaid monies nor return family phone calls. Don't bother to file complaint with the ABA, since the ABA is literally weaponized to support even the worst, most horrific of attorneys which give the profession it's already dull reputation. Get your documentation together along with summary of grievances and file PROMPTLY WITH THE ATTORNEY GRIEVANCE COMMISSION in whichever state RCO law was involved in slothful, slipshod, fraudulent activity. Apparently RCO law does have satellite offices, some even in diff states at one time. Who knows where these spineless cretins work now, at this point. Possibly there are a few bad in amongst the few, but I wouldn't know since after they walked with big $$$ for estate plan plus post decedent actions, plan left incomplete as assigned atty failed to honor any appts scheduled for near year -plan left incomplete and UNSIGNED because of RCO BAD ACTOR "atty". When I did reach out to RCO about mess left behind by their atty -NO RESPONSE. So this also means that we received NO REFUND, also. At this point, it's not even about the refund, but the now near 9 year probate fight fight and majority of multi-millions in assets that have VAPORIZED. When offered the chance to step up FOR THE CLIENT FAMILY ILL SERVED BY ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES, RCO JUST DISAPPEARS AS DOES THEIR CLIIENT-VICTIMS MONEY.

GET THERE BEFORE 3:45pm OR GET A DOOR SLAMMED IN YOUR FACE. I just had a terrible interaction with one of the clerks that works there that shut the door in my face, literally, I could have stuck my hand out to stop it, but I didn’t. So I knocked. I was informed they close at 3:45. “I don’t get paid after 4” is what she told me. Their website says nothing about closing at 3:45pm. The person I talked to on the phone this morning said they’re open 8am - 4pm. This has been a negative experience made especially awful thanks to an incredibly rude worker. I hope you can find better staff in the future.

We hired Kalina for my boyfriend to help with his divorce and to get him off child support. She was no help. When it came time for court, she had plenty of evidence needed to give the judge and still didn't do anything. No communication, Secretary was rude and disrespectful. Save your money and look for someone better!

I've retained many law firms and lawyers for heavy business and employment matters. Ned Gold stands head and shoulders above all of them. He is conscientious, hard working, studious, prescient, an excellent writer, caring and oh so many other adjectives. And He Wins!! I have heard him argue in the Court of Appeals. He used his great sense of humor to get and keep their attention.

I just called to obtain information on how to get eloped and get a marriage license. When calling it rang about 20 times before she answered the phone and she was extremely rude and not helpful at all. She wouldn’t even let me get a word out and said they couldn’t help me with the marriage license application and i need to google who to call. wow extremely helpful right? I’m really disappointed. I read reviews before calling and hoped you guys would do better than that with your customer service. Extremely disappointed.

I dreaded having to contact the Hamilton Co. Probate Court in Ohio to obtain a much-needed document. I had attempted the action some years ago when documents were still on microfiche, resulting in frustration and subsequently, my abandoning the action entirely. However, I had no cause for such trepidation or concern when I contacted Judge Winkler’s court recently. First, requests were streamlined and online, user-friendly with easy-to-follow directions. Second, earlier today—a MONDAY—I received the nicest, most customer-friendly phone call I have ever received from any government employee to clarify my email request. DONNA was polite, helpful, and an absolute godsend in assisting me in getting the correct document in the quickest way possible. I do hope Judge Winkler appreciates this wonderful employee who went above and beyond to accommodate me, a complete stranger. Donna deserves an Atta-girl commendation of some sort to honor her exemplary service as the front-line representative of Judge Winkler’s office. In an age of seemingly voiceless, faceless government and fears of AI takeover, the reassuring personal contact with Donna was gratefully appreciated by this customer.

Divorce is extremely stressful. Caring and empathetic are not the usual words used to describe lawyers, but Camille is. Wonderful at strategy,Camille knows the law and what part of it to argue in court. She cuts to the heart of the matter and doesn't waste your time on unimportant issues just to drag out your case. She is able to disseminate what part of your case is really an emotional issue and should not be argued in court.Unlike other lawyers, she is very available, does not take your case and disappear, nor will she hand you off to an underling. She will not promise you the world either, only what she honestly believes is feasible and just, and in the best interest of any children involved.Having acted as a law guardian herself, she is well aware of those parameters. Camille is well received and liked by all in the court system, even her adversaries. She accomplishes this by being articulate, unfailingly positive, compassionate and considerate to everyone involved. I highly recommend her!

My husband and I had been attempting to adopt a baby for several years. At the time I met Camille, we were about half way through the process of adopting a baby girl from China. During our conversation I mentioned this to her as just part of the conversation we were having. Amazingly, she remembered our talk and called me about 18 months later when she became aware of a birth mother who wanted to do a private adoption. We were no further along in our foreign adoption and were thrilled to have been given this opportunity. Camille represented us through the entire adoption and made it a wonderful experience. She arranged our tour at the hospital and a room to stay in after our son was born. She had worked frequently with the adoption assessor she chose for our home study which made the process even easier. We will be forever grateful to Camille for providing us with the greatest joy of our lives.

Our family can't thank Camille enough for all she has done for us over the years. We had successfully used her services on several matters and then one night my son was involved in an auto accident that involved a drunk driver. Knowing that Camille was a nurse, I called her from the Emergency Department at the hospital our son was taken to. She was familiar with the staff there and made a telephone call to insure that we received individualized treatment until our son was sent by Life Flight to a trauma center. She came to the trauma center several times to visit with us and then represented our son in his personal injury case against the driver. She obtained a settlement that was three times what anyone else told us we would get! Our son is fully recovered now and using a portion of his settlement to attend nursing school. I don't know of any other lawyer who can provide the service that Camille does.

Promised that my bankruptcy (supposedly his specialty) would be discharged for over a year. Bankruptcy was NOT discharged and I was responsible for nearly $1.4 million in debt because of Larry Shenise's mistakes. Proof of the above is the fact that I hired another attorney and within 4 weeks, negative ruling was overturned and within 3 months my bankruptcy was discharged. Never returned, phone calls or emails. Never consulted with apposing attorneys to try to settle.

It's been over 4 years since Larry took my case and I was very satisfied with the results. I had the highest respect for him and even though I never needed legal services before or after, I would choose him again if I ever needed an attorney. He is very honorable and took my case as though it was his own, fighting every step of the way. Kinda wish I needed him again...lol. JK. I highly recommend Larry Shenise. P.S. See, I told you back then I would never forgot you! ( ha) Andrea Latham

For anyone considering hiring this firm for divorce representation, I highly encourage you to reconsider. Upon retaining them for my own proceeding, I had thought I was hiring the best in Cleveland. In every aspect I felt I was under-represented and there was a complete disregard for communication and explanation of processes. Unanswered emails, phone calls never returned, attempts to reach out to senior partners (that never responded) to try and resolve matters. In short, I can only say that as one of the most stressful situations you will face in life, it is my opinion that you will only be compounding that stress in hiring this firm. A truly disappointing experience.

I was being represented in court by Donna Mayor she had done nothing for me in court. She was rude and not willing to listen to a word on my case. She didn't even look at my paperwork or evidence in my favor. It wasn't that I didn't want to pay I just didn't agree with all the fees and being charged 3x my rent amount. I had recieved rental assistance for which my landlord only applied 2 months. He applied the rest to unreasonable charges which was thousands of dollars. I even wanted to represent myself but she discouraged me with her actions and bullying. A man named Chris who works there was trying to find information in regards to my funds from the city and what they were for. she started throwing paper at him and belittling him. Now I have no one to help me. Donna just wanted me to settle so she can go on about her day doing nothing or just as okay with me being evicted. She seemed more representing of my landlord then me. When i explained the behavior to her supervisor it was said she was a good attorney. Talking about accountability. Please if your are desperate don't go to this agency they will make sure your family becomes homeless and humilate you while in the process too. I cannot believe the government funds this agency to ruin lives and collect money.

What a Government Lawyer Can Do for You

A government lawyer specializes in legal issues related to government policies, regulations, and disputes involving public entities. Whether you are a private individual, business, or government agency, a government lawyer provides expert guidance on navigating the complexities of government law. These attorneys handle cases ranging from constitutional law, administrative law, regulatory compliance, and government contracts to defending or challenging government actions.

Government lawyers help individuals and organizations understand their rights and obligations under the law, represent them in disputes with government agencies, and assist in matters of government contracting, procurement, or public policy.

When Should I Hire a Government Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a government lawyer in several situations involving government regulations, compliance, or disputes. Common reasons to hire a government lawyer include:

  • Government contracts and procurement: If you are bidding for or negotiating a contract with a government agency, a lawyer can help ensure compliance with federal, state, or local contracting rules.
  • Regulatory compliance: Businesses operating in highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, environmental sectors) often need legal guidance to comply with government regulations and avoid penalties.
  • Government investigations: If you're being investigated by a government agency such as the IRS, SEC, or EPA, a government lawyer can help defend you against allegations or negotiate settlements.
  • Challenging government actions: If a government agency has denied a permit, license, or benefit, a lawyer can help you appeal or challenge the decision in court.
  • Constitutional and civil rights issues: If you believe your constitutional rights have been violated by a government entity, such as in cases involving free speech or discrimination, a government lawyer can help you seek justice.
  • Public policy or lobbying efforts: If you are involved in lobbying or advocating for policy changes at the local, state, or federal level, a government lawyer can provide legal advice on compliance with lobbying laws and strategies for effective advocacy.

Hiring a government lawyer early in the process can help you navigate complex legal frameworks and avoid costly mistakes when dealing with government-related legal issues.

What Does a Government Lawyer Do?

A government lawyer provides a wide range of services that cover interactions between individuals, businesses, and government entities. They can:

  • Assist with government contracts: Helping clients navigate procurement laws, drafting contracts, and resolving disputes related to government contracting.
  • Provide regulatory compliance advice: Offering guidance on meeting regulatory requirements for industries subject to federal, state, or local laws.
  • Handle administrative law matters: Representing clients before government agencies, such as appealing administrative decisions, applying for permits, or defending against regulatory enforcement actions.
  • Challenge or defend government actions: Representing clients in lawsuits involving government agencies, including constitutional challenges, civil rights violations, or disputes over government decisions.
  • Negotiate settlements with government entities: If a government agency is pursuing legal action against you or your business, a lawyer can negotiate settlements to avoid costly litigation.
  • Advocate for policy changes: Advising clients on legal strategies for influencing public policy, including lobbying and drafting legislation.
  • Litigate constitutional issues: Handling cases related to the Constitution, such as First Amendment rights, due process violations, or unlawful government actions.

How Are Government Lawyers Paid?

Government lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the nature of the legal work involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: For ongoing legal matters, such as regulatory compliance or government contract disputes, lawyers may charge by the hour. Hourly rates can vary depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as drafting a government contract or filing an administrative appeal, some lawyers charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: For clients who need ongoing legal support, such as businesses frequently interacting with government agencies, a lawyer may charge a retainer fee. This is an upfront payment that covers future legal services.
  • Contingency fee: In some cases involving litigation, such as civil rights violations, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle the case.

It’s important to discuss fee structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Government Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a government lawyer depends on the complexity of the legal issue, the lawyer's experience, and their fee structure. Here are some general cost estimates:

  • Hourly rates: Government lawyers typically charge between $150 and $500 per hour, depending on their experience and the complexity of the case.
  • Flat fees: For specific legal services, such as drafting a government contract, flat fees can range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the nature of the service.
  • Retainer fees: A retainer for ongoing legal work with government agencies can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the scope and frequency of the work.
  • Contingency fees: In cases where a lawyer works on contingency, their fee is usually a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or damages awarded if the case is successful.

Be sure to get a clear estimate of costs during your consultation to ensure that you understand the fees associated with your case.

Top Questions to Ask a Government Lawyer

When hiring a government lawyer, it’s essential to ask the right questions to ensure they have the experience and skills needed for your specific situation. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What is your experience with government law cases?
Make sure the lawyer has substantial experience in handling cases or issues involving government agencies, regulatory compliance, or constitutional law.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Ask how the lawyer charges for their services - whether by the hour, flat fee, retainer, or contingency fee - and request an estimate of costs.
  3. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your legal options and the likelihood of success based on your specific situation.
  4. How do you handle interactions with government agencies?
Ask about their approach to dealing with government entities and their experience with specific agencies relevant to your case (e.g., IRS, EPA, SEC).
  5. Have you handled cases like mine before?
Ask about their experience with similar cases and whether they have achieved favorable outcomes in the past.
  6. Who will handle my case?
Clarify whether the lawyer you are meeting with will personally handle your case or whether junior attorneys or paralegals will do most of the work.

How to Check the Credibility of a Government Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a reputable government lawyer, follow these steps to verify their credentials and reputation:

  • Check state bar association records: Confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice in your state and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Review their professional experience: Look for specific experience in government-related legal issues, such as regulatory compliance, government contracts, or administrative law, on their website or professional profile.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check online reviews and ratings on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to get insight into the lawyer’s reputation and track record.
  • Ask for references: Request references from previous clients who have worked with the lawyer on government-related matters to understand their experience and effectiveness.
  • Check for membership in relevant organizations: Look for memberships in professional organizations such as the American Bar Association's Administrative Law Section or the National Institute of Government Procurement, which can indicate the lawyer’s focus on government law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a government lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant information and documents. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Detailed description of your legal issue: Be prepared to explain your situation, whether it’s a regulatory compliance question, a government contract issue, or a dispute with a government agency.
  • Relevant documents: Bring any paperwork related to your case, such as contracts, permits, letters from government agencies, or notices of investigation.
  • A list of questions: Write down any questions you have about your case, including the legal process, potential outcomes, and costs.
  • Timeline of events: Provide a clear timeline of any relevant events, such as the issuance of government orders or interactions with government agencies.
  • Goals for the outcome: Be ready to discuss what you hope to achieve, whether it’s a favorable settlement, regulatory compliance, or overturning a government decision.

By being organized and prepared, you can help your lawyer understand your situation more quickly and give you the best legal advice moving forward.
