Attorney Brian Walters is not your average attorney. Let me tell you something about him. HE ACTUALLY CARES!!! He'll go out of his way to be there for everything you need and always listens to all of your questions. I first met Brian close to 20 years ago that I had hired for a close friend. Since then he's been there for me a few times. The last time I called him ,he was on vacation out west and when his phone rang , he actually answered it. It wasn't his office or any other associate,it was Brian that answered. Like I said before,HE ACTUALLY CARES about his clients. In short,,,, if you are ever in need of a excellent attorney, that will always be there for you, remember the name Brian Walters of the Delta Law Group!!!( Thank you Brian for all your help and support ) Respectfully yours Gary

Paid $2500 for ONLY the preliminary hearing and she did nothing. Couldn’t even get him bond. She did not put up a fight nor did I feel she had his best interest during the case. Even worse she had no communication with us and was showing up late. I wouldn’t recommend her ever at all. We consulted with a different lawyer who said even said she didn’t do anything he shouldn’t still be in jail because it was an illegal search! He would be out if she did her job. I honestly can’t believe how bad she was. ( AND THE DEFENDANT IS STILL IN JAIL!)

Paid retainer by taking out a bank loan, as we did not have that much money in savings. She wrote a single one page letter on our behalf, which we had to edit for her. We decided not to take the civil matter any further and requested a copy of the billable hours on August 23, 2019 and a refund for our remaining balance. It is now September 26, 2019 and we have not gotten a response to the 4 emails and phone message we have sent her.

La licenciada Wanda Alvelo quien es mi representante legal es muy profesional en lo que hace y sabe maniobrar durante el proceso basado en su experiencia para que todo vaya en la dirección correcta. Very helpful when initially getting their retainer but then the service went down hill fast. Paperwork wasn’t filed correctly with court and pushed my case back and since then have had zero responses to anything that needs done with my case unless I send multiple emails ( which I then get charged for even with no response). Have had numerous things come up that needed addressed in a timely manner and end up waiting weeks for a reply if I get one. The office staff is also very unresponsive and when there in person are extremely rude. I wouldn’t recommend at all.

Balls to CLS for allowing me to enter their office! I opened the door at 1424 Chestnut Street only to be confronted by a guard who asked why I was in his in his vicinity. I told him that I needed to talk to someone about predatory lending or pay-day loans. The guard told me I should look at their front door about consultation about such a matter and didn't care what my phone stated. The sign on the door of 1424 Chestnut Street mentioned nothing about predatory lending. As I was escorted from the office I stated it was unfair and that such Legal Services were designed for the public. I suggested he conact his boss as he had no right to "throw my unto the street". Guard didn't care he called down two of his female associates who had little or no emotion looking out the window. Frankly don't use this place!

After using this highly trained professional for six months I found out he was on a year probation for being a drunk... Ok, first of all I do not recommend this lawyer at all. She is impossible to get a hold of and does not keep track go her cases. After being with her for years and her telling me that my case should come out in a month or two ...10 years later (still resolving the case) I come to find out she wrote a number wrong and never checked up on it for the last 5 years. By myself, I went to the immigration office for less than a year and found out there was many documents she never turned in that I had given to her. Enough of my case, point blank I do not recommend her.

John Doebley was very difficult to approach. He does not provide me of is unaware of all the options available, that almost costed me my status. He told me I had to leave the US on a certain date cause i did not have options to change my immigration status. Fortunately, I found another attorney that was more approachable, more helpful, she was helpful. I have been an American Citizen for a while now, without the need to put a foot outside the US at all. Bad attorney. If there is any doubt of what I say, I have my American Passport to prove it.

I went through the application of marriage based immigration with John Doebley. At the beginning I was overwhelmed by the amount of information required by the US immigration office. However, Doebley's and his team were superb in handling all this process. The were informed about all the details, dates, documents, and absolutely everything that was necessary for this process to go as smooth as possible. I was concerned as I had an important international trip that was going to be in conflict with my green card application but Doebley and his team really went out of their way in order to help me in every possible to be able to make my trip. I really recommend this lawyer for applications in Marriage based immigrations, they have everything under control.

Having dealt unsatisfactorily with two lawyers in New Jersey, Attorney Wayne Sachs took up my case and perfectly executed it to the best possible resolution. Attorney Mitchell was superb in successfully presenting my immigration case. The duo alleviated the stress of dealing with the legal system by always apprising me of the stages of my case and advising on the best options to take in resolving my problems. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and the services they have rendered on my behalf and would not hesitate to recommend Sachs law group to family members, friends, or anybody else looking for experienced criminal-immigration attorneys.

Wayne Sachs is the worst attorney in Philadelphia. After being paid $10,000, he skipped 3 of my court hearing! What lawyer doesn't show up to court? The first 3 times the complaining witnessed also didn't show up, and instead of fighting for me, Wayne sat at home relaxing. When he did show up finally on the fourth trial, he abused my trust and used my ignorance of the criminal code against me. He advised me to take a plea deal to the misdemeanor of the second degree when I was actually only guilty of a third degree misdemeanor by lying to me and saying it is better than a third degree. DO NOT hire this man. He is a lazy cheat!

Went to court with this attorney and he seemed un-prepared, and kept stumbling over his words. Told him important information about the case, and he forgot to mention it at court. Had to make a switch, and leave this one. Did not appear to have my best interest in mind, and after each court hearing, we walked out with our tails between our legs. FORST OFF I MET MR.COX AT HIS OFFICE......STARBUCKS YES STARBUCKS HE DOESNT EVEN HAVE AN OFFICE!!!!!!! Mr. Cox Charged us over $3,000 & did absolutely nothing for me in the 2 months I had him (never even attended one hearing, I decided to fire him for not knowing his job what so ever, thank god I didnt go in with him!) He asked for multiple checks from my father (like the previous comments of his ex-clients) one day he would come & ask for a check to be in a certain name then the next he would say write it out to me instead. We let that slide but when I asked him about my case & why it says its my 1st DUI & not my second his game plan was "if they don't say anything neither am i"... it took my new attorney 2 sec to call down the DA to see if I was ARD eligible (which I was not but Ben COX told me several times "ARD is an option as is drug court" DRUG COURT??? Are you freaking kidding me??? Thats for people who caught SERIOUS DRUG CHARGES EX: Crack sale to Police, Heroin Possession, etc.....not a 2nd dui! I could go on all day about his misconduct and lack of knowledge. He's as worth as much as you can throw him....not very far. He broke our confidentiality right away and told several people I know about my alleged charges & told them Im going to jail for 6 months!!!!. My new lawyer got me general impairment at the 1st hearing alone! (Thank god I didn't have Ben CoX there he would buried me) & they offered 45 days...long story short I went and got a HIGH NAME lawyer & ultimately the DUI was dropped. Shout out to the Greeks lets just say that. BUT PLEASE PEOPLE I DONT HAVE THE TIME IN THE DAY DO NOT USE HIM!!! HE DOESNT HAVE AN OFFICE!! HES A JOKE!

I was referred to Mr. Cox through a family member in the beginning of 2013. I explained to him that I had an attorney that just couldn't give my case the time it needed. He agreed to complete the remainder of my case for $2,500. Any thing Mr. Cox says to you make him put it in writing. All this lawyer achieved for me in my case was a over a year of continuances. He did no work in my defense or bringing up evidence on my behalf, which is what an attorney is paid to do. When I asked him details about my case standing or addressed Mr. Cox on his work ethic he became very indignant and used highly unprofessional language toward me. He informed me that charges in my case had been lifted when in fact, they had not, which I did not learn of, until the day of my trial!! He then tried to convince me that the language he and court officials used I wouldn't understand, so it was best not to question him and let him handle my court proceedings. I'm a college student, it may not be in law, still as a client, I know I have a right to be informed about my case. And, as an attorney, this is his job to inform me. After countless attempts to discuss my case in detail with Mr. Cox, a year into my case he called me claiming he was unaware of my plaintiffs injuries. The claim of these injuries was the reason I hired Mr. Cox in the first place. He also tried to tell me that my prior record was the reason I would serve time on this case, which also makes no sense. Record or not, there are facts in my case that need to be presented. Without presenting my case clearly, how are you defending me? And why wont you discuss the facts of my case? All Mr. Cox seemed to want to discuss was money outside of what we agreed on, for work that I had honestly not seen him do. Clearly, my comprehensive ability is not the issue here. Nothing, not one thing I asked this attorney to do did he honor, not even what he agreed on before payment. He refused to document payments after going to my sick grandfathers house and demanding two checks, one for $400 and the other for $700. Mind you, I had already paid Mr. Cox the $2,500 agreed on. Lastly, his courtroom conduct is unprofessional. My cell phone was accidently left on (outside of the courtroom, mind you) and when it rang this gentlemen literally shouted at me. This man made me look like a fool in front of the courts and the DA with his unprofessional conduct and lack of work on my case. The result has been an injustice to me. My family member that referred me is equally disappointed. They had worked in different departments for the state for years although she was unaware of Mr. Cox's negative reputation. Several other attorney's in the area also will give you the same reference of this attorney. I only wish I had thought to google Mr. Cox before hiring him. The other reviews here refer to this attorney as a bully and a salesman and I agree! If you are a woman I especially recommend you find another attorney. This man is a nightmare. I don't understand his rating here as "good" I have been forced to hire a public defender as my third attorney in this case. If I had had the money to hire another attorney sooner, I would have. Not doing so may have ruined my case.

The lawyer has been late to all appointments. Specifically, for her second appointment she was 1 hour late. Another incident or an emergengy may occur. Under these circumstances the clinet should be informed so that proper arrangements can be made. The lawyer did not was not concerned with the major issue and this gives the impression as if she has limited knowledge of the subject matter. One expectes a lawyer to handle complicated matters not straight forward matters that a well educated and knowledgeable person can handle. I wish cthis lawyer could handle my issue, I was very very disappointed.

I was referred to him for immigration case. He took a lot of money about $7000 and did nothing: First he filled after the deadline so the case got rejected, and ended up have to leave the country. Second he never returned any phone calls, and will only call when he try to get more money. He will keep you in the waiting room for an hour or so. He is expensive twice the price of other attorneys. And all the applications got rejected: work authorization, extension, asylum, H1B visa, etc . His secretory will call me and tell me that he wants to see me urgently in the next day , just to go out be left in the waiting room for an hour and them he is asking for more money. He showed up in the hearing too late, pretending his leg is hurting ! and the judge suggested he is trying to game the system. and made a deal to close the case without getting my permission!

Ms. Tandoh is a great lawyer - for the other party. Hired to assist me with my case, knew the other party was abusive and less than honest. Didn't matter. Came away from court with an order that was barely better than vague that I had to spend hundreds of dollars to get changed to protect me and my family. Her reason for not giving a good fight for us? She didn't want to deal with the other party's "drama". Definitely more concerned with her own ego than in actually giving any real compassion or fight for her clients.

On Saturday April 3, 2021 my husband and I met with Mr Nero to discuss immigration concerns. We paid him $2270. He told us that he would submit the paperwork and on Monday we should hear something from immigration. When we didn’t hear anything we reached out to him. His response was that he needed more information. The question was asked, when was someone going to reach out to us. He immediately stated that he no longer ants to represent my husband because already here is a problem, just by asking a simple question. Ok we asked for a full refund. Mr Nero took $100 from us for what he claimed was consultation fee of which he never discussed during our meeting. He is a rip off and a scam. Do not use this person. He will find a way of getting put of doing the job then take your money. I hope he gets caught one day. He has apparently done his to other people. Read the reviews on him

What an Immigration Lawyer Can Do for You

An immigration lawyer specializes in helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate the complex immigration process. These lawyers provide legal guidance on various immigration matters, such as obtaining visas, gaining permanent residency (green cards), applying for citizenship, and defending clients in deportation or removal proceedings. Immigration lawyers also assist with employment-based immigration, asylum applications, and resolving issues related to visas or immigration status.

Whether you're trying to immigrate to the U.S., facing deportation, or sponsoring an employee or family member for a visa, an immigration lawyer can help you understand your legal options and navigate the often complicated legal system.

When Should I Hire an Immigration Lawyer?

Hiring an immigration lawyer is beneficial in many situations where you are dealing with U.S. immigration laws, whether for personal or business reasons. Common reasons to hire an immigration lawyer include:

  • Visa applications: If you need assistance applying for a visa, whether it's a work visa (H-1B), student visa (F-1), or tourist visa (B-1/B-2), a lawyer can help ensure the application is properly completed and submitted.
  • Green card applications: If you're seeking permanent residency, an immigration lawyer can guide you through the process, whether through family sponsorship, employment, or the Diversity Visa (lottery) program.
  • Deportation or removal defense: If you’re facing deportation or removal from the U.S., a lawyer can defend your case in immigration court and seek to prevent removal.
  • Asylum applications: If you’re seeking asylum due to persecution or fear of persecution in your home country, a lawyer can help you prepare a strong case and file for asylum.
  • Family reunification: If you're a U.S. citizen or permanent resident looking to bring family members to the U.S., a lawyer can assist with the family sponsorship process.
  • Citizenship and naturalization: If you're ready to apply for U.S. citizenship, a lawyer can help you navigate the naturalization process and ensure you meet all the requirements.
  • Business immigration: If you're an employer seeking to hire foreign workers, a lawyer can assist with employment-based visas, labor certification, and compliance with immigration regulations.
  • Special immigration categories: Immigration lawyers also handle complex cases, such as visas for victims of human trafficking (T visa), crime victims (U visa), or those seeking Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

Hiring an immigration lawyer early in the process can help you avoid delays, errors, and possible denials due to incomplete or incorrect applications.

What Does an Immigration Lawyer Do?

An immigration lawyer provides a wide range of services to help clients with their immigration needs, whether personal or business-related. Their tasks often include:

  • Assisting with visa applications: Helping clients fill out and submit visa applications, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Filing for green cards and permanent residency: Guiding clients through the process of applying for a green card, including family-based, employment-based, or other forms of residency.
  • Defending against deportation or removal: Representing clients in immigration court who are facing deportation and working to prevent removal from the U.S.
  • Preparing asylum cases: Assisting clients in applying for asylum based on fear of persecution in their home country due to race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.
  • Handling citizenship applications: Helping lawful permanent residents apply for naturalization and ensuring they meet all the legal requirements for U.S. citizenship.
  • Employment-based immigration: Assisting employers with the process of sponsoring foreign workers for temporary or permanent visas, including H-1B, L-1, and EB-1 through EB-5 visas.
  • Representation in immigration interviews: Preparing clients for immigration interviews and attending interviews at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) offices.
  • Appealing denied applications: If a visa, green card, or citizenship application is denied, a lawyer can file appeals or motions to reopen or reconsider the case.

How Are Immigration Lawyers Paid?

Immigration lawyers generally charge for their services based on the type of immigration case and the complexity of the legal work involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Flat fee: Many immigration lawyers charge a flat fee for specific services, such as preparing a visa application, green card petition, or citizenship application. Flat fees help clients know upfront what the legal costs will be for a particular service.
  • Hourly rate: For more complex cases, such as deportation defense or appeals, some lawyers charge by the hour. Hourly rates vary depending on the lawyer's experience and the complexity of the case.
  • Retainer: For ongoing immigration matters, some clients may need to pay a retainer, which is an upfront payment billed against as the lawyer works on the case.
  • Pro bono or sliding scale: Some immigration lawyers or nonprofit organizations may offer free or low-cost services for clients with limited financial means, particularly in asylum or humanitarian cases.

It’s essential to discuss the fee structure with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand the costs and payment arrangements.

How Much Does an Immigration Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring an immigration lawyer varies based on the type of legal service required, the lawyer's experience, and the complexity of the case. General cost estimates include:

Top Questions to Ask an Immigration Lawyer

Before hiring an immigration lawyer, it's essential to ask questions to ensure they have the experience and expertise to handle your case effectively. Important questions to ask include:

  1. What experience do you have with immigration cases like mine?
Ensure the lawyer has experience handling cases similar to yours, whether it’s family-based immigration, employment visas, or asylum.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a flat fee, hourly rate, or retainer, and ask for a detailed estimate of the total cost.
  3. What is the likelihood of success in my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case and the potential outcomes, including any challenges you might face.
  4. How long will the process take?
Immigration cases can take time, so ask how long it may take to process your application or resolve your legal issue.
  5. Will you handle my case personally?
In larger firms, junior attorneys or paralegals may handle parts of your case. Make sure you know who will be working on your case directly.
  6. What documents do I need to provide?
Ask the lawyer about the documentation required to support your case, such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, or employment contracts.

How to Check the Credibility of an Immigration Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable immigration lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and track record:

  • Check their state bar status: Confirm with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed to practice and has no disciplinary actions against them.
  • Look for specific immigration law experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in immigration law and have experience handling cases like yours.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about the lawyer’s professionalism and success rate.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their ability to handle immigration cases.
  • Check for industry affiliations: Membership in organizations like the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) can indicate the lawyer’s expertise and commitment to immigration law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most out of your first consultation with an immigration lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant documents and information. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Passport and immigration documents: Bring your passport, visa, and any documents related to your current immigration status.
  • Family documents: If you're applying for a family-based visa or green card, bring marriage certificates, birth certificates, and proof of family relationships.
  • Employment information: For employment-based visas, provide your employment contract, offer letter, or other documentation of your job.
  • Criminal records (if applicable): If you have any criminal history, bring copies of court records and other relevant documents.
  • Timeline of events: Provide a clear timeline of any prior immigration applications, visas, or issues with immigration authorities.
  • List of questions: Prepare any questions you have about your immigration case, the process, costs, and the likelihood of success.
