I worked with Mr. Jolic for six years, through the J1 waiver process and then the green card process, and could not have asked for a better lawyer. He was very transparent about the process, took the time to walk me through it, and was always (!) promptly responsive to my questions. I especially appreciated that Mr. Jolic communicated with me directly and I did not have to go through an assistant. Ben Aguilar is a talented, whip-smart, and thorough attorney. His staff worked in concert through the numerous required steps under the supervision of Marina that proved critical to organizing and preparing my case.

I worked with Harun Kazmi to help apply for my green card (permanent resident card) and the entire process was a breeze. We only met in person once to go over a list of required documents (which I had to collect and send over to their office) and Harun and their team handled the rest of the process. Harun was always available to answer any questions we had throughout the process over e-mail as well. My wife and I even moved cities after having submitted our petitions (from SD to LA - changing our USCIS field office). Lynne is really good at what she does professionally but equally importantly she is a wonderful person. I consulted her for a VAWA case and was touched by her genuine concern for me.

She is very attentive, detail-oriented, and most definitely committed about being of service to her clients. I'd never even met her in person – half the time we had her as our lawyer, I was in Bahrain. Communication was always smooth and detailed, be it an email or a virtual meeting. She is incredibly professional, but also warm enough to make interactions a lot more comfortable.
We needed help with some documents that we had to submit to the NVC (my husband was stationed in Bahrain, and his tax returns forms were different. We decided to hire her when I faced a bunch of personal troubles that could have sent my case down the drain. She contacted the Embassy in Bahrain to follow up on an interview schedule. It took well over a year since the petition was filed to get an appointment. Then my case was AP'd for over 2 months. She again contacted the Embassy and sent them a legal brief as to why it should not have been put under administrative processing in the first place. After my IV was approved, she gave me some tips and guidelines for when I first enter the US as a resident, and a few things I should probably take care of ASAP, e.g. REAL ID/driver's license, SSN.
She knows what she's doing, and she really cares. I'm glad we found her. Very, very highly recommended!

Thank you so much to Derek and Ruby for being organized, patient, flexible, and extremely professional. They filled out and submitted all my paperwork for adjustment of status through marriage. The application process without them would have been so stressful because there is a lot to keep track of.
Ruby was my case manager and really made herself available to answer any questions I had. I'm sure I repeated my questions multiple times, but she ALWAYS answered them even if she was repeating herself. She made herself available outside of business hours to answer these questions or to receive any documents from me after I got off of work. I could go on and on about how amazing her work ethic is, and I'm very grateful to have worked with her.
I only really interacted with Derek 3 times. The first time was through the consultation, second was a zoom call to prepare me for my interview, and third time was on my interview day. All 3 times Derek was also extremely helpful at answering my questions and put me at ease about the process. I'd like to note that interview day was chaotic. The USCIS interview office had overbooked people, and they ended up having to reschedule ~20 people's interviews. Unfortunately I was one of them, and Derek made himself available for anytime I wanted to reschedule the interview. We ended up going in at 7:00am the following day (which was a rare time and outside USCIS business hours), so he promptly showed up around 6:30am to make sure he was there for my interview.
Thank you so much to Derek and Ruby for facilitating my green card process, and for making sure I always felt at ease/comfortable/safe in dealing with this immigration process.

Mr. Golchin was my lawyer for a case which a careless driver passed the red light at a intersection and hit my car so badly. My car was totaled and I was screened by the emergency. In 2014, when I was stranded in Tijuana, MX after escaping political persecution in my home country (long story), I frantically looked for an immigration attorney to seek asylum in the US. I shot off emails to several SD attorneys, asking them questions the answers to which I already knew to gauge their: 1) responsiveness and 2) expertise.
You'd be surprised how often lawyers provide the wrong answers even during the first consultation. No way I'm paying a single cent to any lawyer who doesn't know the law.
It turned out that Mr Golchin was the only who responded promptly AND correctly. Not only that, he PERSONALLY TRAVELED DOWN TO MEXICO just to meet me, and this was before I even retained him. That just goes to show his sheer dedication and willingness to go the extra mile in performing his duties. He left an extremely positive impression so I retained him.
When I was in immigration detention, he worked tirelessly to liaise with ICE officers to get me released ASAP and also visited me personally. With his assistance, I was finally paroled into the US. When the time came to file for a work permit and to file for asylum (I-589), Mr Golchin prepared the necessary form and documents conscientiously and accurately so as to prevent unnecessary delays.
When I had to defend my case in court in Los Angeles, Mr Golchin traveled more than a handful of times to my city to represent me in court. Though not a loud/flamboyant lawyer, he knows the law extremely well, he makes a huge effort to acquaint himself with the facts of your case, and when arguing he adopts a deliberate, collected, yet persuasive tone to convince the immigration judge of his position. Mr Golchin and I have always prepared through Skype conferences or personal meetings right before any court appearance.
Most importantly, Mr Golchin won my case for me (I'm finally a US asylee) at first instance, and the government attorney had also promised not to appeal the decision. I think, after all said and done, this is the most important point. I wouldn't be singing praises if my case had to go to appeal. I've also always felt comfortable consulting Mr Golchin on not only immigration matters but also other legal matters. He has been of assistance to me in legal matters beyond immigration.
In short, I'd highly recommend Mr Golchin for your immigration-related matters. He's the perfect combination of legal expertise and also genuine care and attentiveness for his clients.

I was referred to Susan from the San Diego Lawyer referral service. I know lawyers are not cheap, but I have never regretted one second hiring this woman. She has been worth every penny. I had a basic my husband is a foreigner and we needed to adjust his status. But her and her office team knew right away what forms to fill out, documents I would need, etc. It is true what all the other reviews say. She does get back to you very quickly and gets things done in a timely manner. I have read that other immigration lawyers have delayed the process for other people because they take forever to respond to questions or get their paperwork done. Not this office. I have had all sorts of random question about the immigration process and things I can and can not do with my husband and she has been there every step of the way to help us. 2011 I was convicted of a felony which I was put in deportation proceedings. My family hired Nanya to assist us in this difficult time with everyone She provided the best legal advise for me and was in constant communication with my criminal attorney so I can vacate my charge for "ineffective assistance of counsel" so that I could go back to criminal court and not be deported.
