Joel was so helpful in my husbands case. We went to Joel not knowing anything about Residency, and when we came out of our first consultation with him, we felt so much better about what was to come. He answered all of our questions, and prepared us for either a good or a bad outcome. If we had any questions, he would respond within 24 hours, even on the weekend sometimes!! It was great and he is very personable, making jokes (at appropriate times). In the end, my husband was granted the Temporary Residency, and we have one more year before we can apply for permanent residence for him. We are still happily married, celebrating our 2 year anniversary this year (4 years total). I would highly recommend Joel to anyone looking for help in Immigration Law. As far as prices go, he was very reasonably priced.

If you are looking for an immigration lawyer please don't go anywhere else!!! Honestly. Stop looking, you found him. I don't know how long Joel has been in practice but it seems like maybe from the beginning of time? He knows everything. If Gandolf was an immigration lawyer.. Joel would be Gandolf.
All jokes aside, I researched many lawyers and made many contact attempts, had a few consultations, and I was always left disappointed and not feeling confident in paying for their laughable services. From my first conversation with Joel I knew he was different, and was on top of things. He made what can be an extremely stressful experience seem easy. Honestly, EASY. He's organized, RELIABLE, and he knows immigration. My husband is now a permanent resident thanks to Joel and his expertise.
I wish I could personally speak to anyone considering using him, so I could tell you what he did for my husband and I. I want to shout it from the rooftops. He is the best in the business and has never lost a case.

Having to deal with my legal issues was stressful. I don’t know what to expect. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! San Diego Biz law was suggested to me via a random friend I car-pooled with. Me and my wife required the services of an immigration attorney and she recommended San Diego Biz Law. She gave me the personal number of the lead attorney/CEO Mr. Riznyk and asked me to call on a business day. Since we didn't have much time, I called him the next day which was a Sunday while he was having family time and we spoke for several minutes. He could have easily told me to call back on Monday but Mr. Riznyk gave me a free consultation and I immediately knew he was my man. I had spoken with other attorneys before then but none gave me the reassurance and confidence Mr. Riznyk exuded. Life meaning immigration process for me, application for a green card on a base of marriage, tons of official paper work and steps ... the process didn't even started and you are already overwhelmed.
You know that even one section or answer being missed or not right in the applications and procedures, and your case will go 6-8 months late and can get even more seriously complicated.
A friend of mine who had the same situation and process before me recommended to me a lawyer by name Andres. I had a complicated immigration issue. I came to the US in the late 80's as a tourist and never left. I was petitioned by my father who was a US citizen, unfortunately he passed away before my case was resolved. No matter how hard I tried and despite my college degree and professional background, I did not get very far in my job hunt using a ridiculously obvious fake green card . In my desperation, after many years of doing odd jobs, I misrepresented myself just so I can get a temporary work permit (a decision that I soon deeply regretted!) For while the work permit enabled to land a decent job, It became the primary reason why 2 prominent immigration lawyers in Los Angeles refused to take my case. The "misrepresentation" extended into many aspects of my life: I claimed US citizenship in filing my taxes, buying a home, attending classes, etc. I stayed at my job for many years - until E-verify forced me to resign. All of a sudden, I had nowhere to go. So despite my prior uneventful consultations with immigration lawyers, I decided to try it one last time.
Atty. Marquez was assigned to handle my case. She acknowledged that my case was unusually complex. But unlike other lawyers who did not show any interest in finding a solution, she took my case and attacked the problem at every possible angle. The preparation of the documents was very challenging and took me several months to complete. In the end she was able to come out with a very compelling presentation that was honest and thorough, and addresses all the possible scenarios that could prevent me from getting a Permanent resident visa.
I liked her because she was very professional, she never gave me any false assurances, she never gave up on me even when I was feeling discouraged and she was always there when I needed her.
I got my GREEN CARD yesterday (August 22, 2014)!

I hired Mark for my employment based green card application. First we talked on the phone as a free consultation session and then I hired him. He was very professional and excellent in communication. He guided me through the process and it felt very smooth. He gave me guidelines for the recommendation letters and he told which documents I need to gather. Long story short, thanks to Attorney Chavez and her legal assistant Mayra Barrera, my case got recently approved. An attorney who is not specialized in immigration let me know their firm and I had been interested to work with Attorney Chavez in particular among multiple attorneys in the firm due to her speciality and thankfully she took my case in the end of the same year. Annette and her team at USA Immigration did a fantastic job at helping us process all of the proper documentation to allow us to sponsor several of our employees through H1-B visas. This is a very belated review because I was Mr.Hom's client some 20 years ago, and of course at that time there was no internet nor a site like AVVO. My case at that time was very difficult and I already had engaged another immigration attorney who worked on my case for many years with no satisfactory result but cost us lots of money; even with all that money and effort I was on my way out of the country. So at the eleventh hour and at my uncle's suggestion we came to see Mr.Hom. He was (and still is I'm sure) extremely knowledgeable, professional, and handled my case with great care. Mr.Hom was able to achieve the impossible for me in just a few months (basically he resolved the problem for me that my other attorney said was very slim in chance). It is no exaggeration to say that my life changed completely for the better because of what Mr.Hom was able to do. Now, the law changes, the facts and the circumstances are different for everyone so what happened to me may not happen to you, but I would encourage you to at least consult with Mr.Hom, he will honestly tell you what he can or cannot do and he really is one of those very few ethical attorneys. No one asked me nor paid me to write this review, the reason I still remember Mr.Hom is because of what he did for me, so I think I owe him this review.

He is not like other lawyers out there that tell you he can do everything...and he doesn't make promoises...cause he always said to me "I can not promises you your case will get approved by Immigration because I am not the Immigration, however, I can promised you I will do my best and use my knowledge and expierence to help you with your case"......I've gone to see few attorneys, but he is the first lawyer that actually willing to spend time with me listen to my problems and explaining to me what the law is and what will be my best options if I need his help to do my case. Before Atty. Hom, there was another attorney that I've hired to do my case and every time I try calling this lawyer he was always too busy to talk to me and when leaving messages he will never call you back.....the only time he calls is when he wants to charge me more money....I am so happy and thankful to my friend for introduce Atty. Hom to me...over the years I have also introduce Atty. Hom to my friends and family members to do their case and I've also notice from over the years that most of Atty. Homs clients came to see him is "word-of-mouth" and not some big advertisements that says "WE PROMISED WE CAN GET YOUR CASE APPROVED BY INS"...I mean who are they to make such promises??? If Atty.
