I contacted Mr. Fisher because of an auto accident. He was knowledgeable, informative, compassionate regarding my injury and easy to relate to. He was always available if I had any questions or issues regarding my case. He kept in contact with me as well and explained the process. I never felt abandoned or alone during the legal process. He was very professional and friendly as was his staff. I would recommend Mr. Fisher to my family and friends in a heartbeat.

Mr. Fisher recently completed my car insurance claim that was filed on my behalf due to an arm injury. I was completely naieve to the legal procedures involved. He thoroughly explained things to me in a simple and concise manner to which I was able to clearly understand the situation that I was dealing with. Most importantly, he was not just my lawyer, he was a part of my support system and became a friend along the way. I was very happy with the end result. He was straightforward with the details about how car insurance companies handle the claims on their end once a client files the claim. I am grateful for his assistance. I would recommend him to anyone that I know of that has the need for his services. In addition, I 100% trust him to assist me should I have any future legal questions or issues

I contacted Mr. Fisher regarding an injury I sustained due to a improperly assembled bicycle. I had made several trips to the hospital, and had lots of bills and paperwork being sent to me. From the minute I made contact with Mr. Fisher, he explained in detail what services he could provide, what the end-goals were for my case, and walked me through every step of the process. He was always available to answer any questions I had, and I always felt comfortable reaching out to him. In the end, all of the goals for my case were met, and then some. I was more than satisfied with the outcome. I would recommend Mr. Fisher to my family, my friends, and anyone in need, not just because of the result of my case, but because I felt that he cared about me and my situation, and having someone like that in your corner is invaluable.

Me and my husband are very happy with our decision hiring Jeffrey as our lawyer. We had to deal with seller's non-disclosures and we didn't really know where to start. At first we had a consultation with different lawyer, who charged us 150$ for a 30 minutes talk, was very unprofessional and left us with more questions than we had before. After that we decided to get a free consultation with Jeffrey, and were so pleased that he spent over an hour with us and was able to explain everything in details, answered all of our questions and suggested the directions we should be taking to solve this case. So we had no doubts that he is the right person for our case. He handled entire process of a real estate litigation very professionally , and we were very impressed with how knowledgeable he is in this field. He was able to settle our case within few months and without us having to go though a trial process, which saved us a lot of time, money and made it a lot less stressful than it could of been. Thank you so much Jeffrey. We really appreciate your hard work and dedication.

Best military lawyer you will find. Very knowledgeable and experienced. What I like about Chris is he's will be completely honest with you and knows what adverse effect each thing has to it. Always answers your calls if he doesn't texts/calls you back within minutes. Very well connected considering his background in the Pentagon and willing to pull string if need be. I knew immediately when I was calling around for my situation that he would be the attorney I hire.

Through no fault of my own, I found myself embroiled in a complicated multi-level governmental personal injury case. I was struck by a vehicle driven by a municipal employee assigned to a federal task force. I suffered significant serious injuries and loss of work time as well as property damage. I faced a legal battle against a defendant with unlimited financial resources as well as teams of experienced attorneys. In addition, the legality in governmental cases is quite complicated. From the very beginning, Anthony assured me he would take care of me, and I should concern myself with my health and recovery, that he would handle the legal side of things. He kept me informed along every step of the way of a long, complicated legal process. His advice always came with an explanation of why he was advising of such. It took a while, but in the end I received a good settlement. I honestly could not have done it without Anthony. I highly recommend his services to anyone seeking a personal injury attorney. In my opinion, he is the best.

While riding his bicycle, my husband, Chris, was hit by a car whose driver ran a red light. Chris sustained serious injuries, and we knew that we needed to contact a lawyer to help us protect Chris's future, which will probably be full of pain. It was a good feeling to entrust Chris's lawsuit to Anthony's capable hands and not have to worry about the processes or the outcomes. We were able to focus on Chris's health needs and our family's needs (we have four young children) and did not use up energy on the lawsuit, as we knew that Anthony was taking care of it. Anthony was extremely supportive throughout the claim and advised us what to expect along the way. It was a true pleasure working with Anthony on such important matters. His care of Chris as a person and his concern for our whole family demonstrates Anthony's fine character, and it is clear that Anthony enjoys his work and helping others. We were fortunate to have been served by Anthony and highly recommend him to anyone who needs an excellent, knowledgeable advocate.

Also important to me is good communication and Attorney Patrick Shannon is an excellent communicator, both written and verbal. His office staff is professional, polite and efficient. Bringing a personal injury suit is arduous and extremely stressful. I had no concept of this four years ago when I was struck from behind by a young man who was texting. It would be one of the most intense experiences of my life. What complicated my case was that I had pre existing conditions that would end up getting lumped into my current long term injury. I had limited tort which surprisingly made it so that 2 firms I spoke with wouldn’t even take my case. A friend had recommended Bryan Hanratty to me. The minute I met him I had complete faith in him. One of the things I liked best about him was his compassion for the agony I was in and the way it has affected my life and the lives of my family. I am no longer the helpful creative force of nature I was 4 years ago. My family could depend on me for just about anything. Bryan took that part very seriously. He understood the personal aspect of a personal injury. Bryan gave me the courage to go the distance for a long drawn out claim including several stressful depositions and ultimately arbitration. By the time we got to arbitration I was convinced I would lose the case and have to live with the ongoing daily excruciating pain because someone wasn’t looking while driving. Yes, accidents happen, but an accident can ruin someone’s life. I’m a natural born surrenderer. I loathe conflict and stress. It’s easy for me to run the other way. Every time I told Bryan I felt discouraged he would tell me not to worry. He ultimately won the claim for me. He tells me we did it together but I know for a fact it was him. There’s a warrior in him even though he comes off like a guy you would want for your neighbor. If you need someone for any kind of personal injury, I would say first, it will be tough. And there won’t be anyone more capable and professional and encouraging than him. I give him 10 out of ten stars.               ◦

When my life changed drastically after an unfortunate car accident, Michael Rosenzweig and his team were the only lawyers willing to take my case. I felt helpless at the time and after my first conversation with Michael I knew I had made the right decision in calling Edgar Snyder's and Associates. He made me feel at ease and that he would make my case a priority. Michael told me that my only focus was to be on myself and healing. He would handle everything else. Those words were ones that I will never forget. As a victim of a car accident I physically, mentally, and emotionally was not in the state to be able to take on much more than just rest and rehabilitation. Michael is professional, persistent, and caring. He expects nothing but the best possible outcome for his clients and doesn't stop until that happens. I highly recommend Michael Rosenzweig and his team. I can't thank them enough for the time and energy that they put into my case. I'm forever grateful.

Jim Goldsmith is one of the smartest and knowledgeable attorneys I have ever worked with, particularly in the field of real estate and real estate transactions. He assisted me with issues that arose over employment, real estate law, ethics and a variety of risk reduction measures in my real estate office. Knowing that the best lawsuit is the one that is avoided he worked with me to create ‘best practices’ and policies that protected my agents and my business. When you need him to defend a lawsuit he is strategic and unwavering in his defense. Now I work for the REALTOR trade association and he continues to be a trusted advisor as well as reviewing contracts and assisting in educational programs delivered throughout the state on our behalf.

His ability to understand the nuance and complexity of our issue in such a short period of time was more than a little impressive. Both in the courtroom and in trail preparation, Kevin's ability and exceptional acumen are quite clear. I retained Mr. Brenner on the advice of another attorney when it became apparent that I was likely to face a frivolous lawsuit from an ex. This was my first experience with civil law, and among my first experiences with retaining an attorney in general. That said, I did not know what to expect, and I was frustrated and scared. Tom did a great job of walking me through the process and letting me vent when necessary. The process makes a glacier look fast! Tom was always available when I needed him and did a great job of explaining things in a way that I understood. Perhaps most importantly, he listened to me, endeavored to understand the uniqueness (perceived or real) of my situation, and then explained my options in a way I could understand, and then let/made me decide on the course of action I thought was best for me prior to making any major moves. Tom knows the system, the players and the process. My general take on the situation was that I wanted to fight since it was my money and my reputation that needed defending. That said, I guess the result is that my perception was that we didn’t fight as hard as possible. However, that MAY be more emotion than reality on my part as the case is now settled in a manner that ultimately was acceptable to me. Once I swallowed that settling may be the best option, I have to say that Tom did an excellent job in those proceedings. INFO I FEEL I NEED TO INCLUDE: No matter who you choose to hire, I strongly recommend that you do your homework and make use of free initial consults to ensure that whoever you choose is a good fit for you. I was shocked by my whole situation, had far too much faith in the system, and did not make good use of these initial consults. If you are hiring an attorney to represent you in Pennsylvania, I recommend that you check here as well: https://www.padisciplinaryboard.org/for-the-public/find-attorney. It is unlikely that you will find an attorney with a history of founded ethical violations since this is a case of attorneys policing their own (something they just don’t do), but I encourage you to check anyway. Lastly, set realistic expectations. It isn’t like on TV—rest assured that attorneys are not going to call out their own. It is a cult, and non-attorneys are on the outside looking in—even though your life and livelihood may depend on it.

The selection of Attorney Santee was based on a referral from another lawyer with whom I had worked with for many years but was not currently taking cases in the area of general civil litigation. My general impression is that Attorney Santee is very well versed in this area of the law. He listened very carefully to the details of my circumstance and problems that I was encountering. I felt very comfortable with the professional relationship which was rapidly established. He was able to provide guidance for me and we discussed various alternatives. I especially appreciated his very open and clear explanation of costs, billing practices, and exactly what I could expect depending on the outcome at various stages of the litigation process. As things turned out a settlement was reached before a court appearance and I appreciate Attorney Santee's efforts to facilitate this type of outcome. This made my life less complicated and used less time. I should also add that at the times when Attorney Santee was in conference or not available, the office staff was very efficient in facilitating phone calls and associated logistics tasks. Email communication was effectively used when necessary. In summary, based on my experience, I would not hesitate to recommend Attorney Santee when dealing in the legal category of general civil litigation.

I went to Attorney Santee based on a referral from a friend, and I am so glad I listened. It was a very difficult time in my life, which I imagine is often the case when you need to hire a lawyer, but having Rick fighting on my side put my mind at ease. He listened to my whole story, and knew exactly what needed to happen and how it was to be done. He let me know when there was easy stuff that I could really do myself if I chose to, in order to save me some money on my bill, which I really appreciated. Although the other side was dragging their feet at every turn, Rick was always professional, proactive, and got things on our end done immediately. His assistant, Carly, was also very helpful and easy to get in touch with.

I couldn't have asked for better representation than I received from Ms. Harkins. She was always very responsive. She was well versed with my case which only could have resulted from studying the material at hand and knowing the law. The two opposing attorneys (one from a local dealership and one from Mercedes Benz USA) certainly led some great arguments as to why this case shouldn't qualify for the LL however Shannon was quick to respond with clarification and solidified why it should qualify for the LL. The three Attorneys hearing our case ruled in favor of us. I feel as though we only won the case because of Shannon's confident presentation!

We used Mr. Walsh to review our real estate purchase of a second home at the New Jersey Shore. Joe was very efficient in his review of the contract and the condo documents. He also raised some points of concern which we had not considered. Subsequently after signing the contract and during the attorney review process we uncovered a serious water issue in our intended shore home purchase. Mr Walsh responded to my concerns over the weekend and acted decisively on our behalf. That Monday morning he had all the needed documents issued to nullify the contract on our behalf. He was very direct in his communications with the real estate agent and builder on our behalf. His actions saved us a tremendous headache and we are grateful for his professionalism and his sound legal advice.

What an Insurance Lawyer Can Do for You

An insurance lawyer specializes in legal issues related to insurance policies and claims. These lawyers help individuals, businesses, and insurance companies navigate disputes involving insurance coverage, claim denials, bad faith claims, and policy interpretation. Insurance lawyers can represent policyholders who feel they've been unfairly denied coverage, or they can work on behalf of insurance companies to defend against fraudulent or inflated claims.

Whether you're filing a claim, disputing a denial, or dealing with complex coverage issues, an insurance lawyer can provide critical guidance and legal representation to protect your rights and ensure you receive the benefits you're entitled to under your policy.

When Should I Hire an Insurance Lawyer?

Hiring an insurance lawyer is advisable in several situations, particularly when disputes arise over insurance coverage, claim denials, or bad faith actions. Common reasons to hire an insurance lawyer include:

  • Denied insurance claims: If your insurance company denies your claim, a lawyer can help determine whether the denial was justified or if you should challenge the decision.
  • Bad faith insurance practices: If you believe your insurer has acted in bad faith, such as delaying payment or failing to properly investigate your claim, a lawyer can help you pursue legal action.
  • Underpaid claims: If the insurance company has offered less compensation than you believe your claim is worth, a lawyer can negotiate for a higher payout or file a lawsuit.
  • Coverage disputes: When there's ambiguity or disagreement about what your policy covers, a lawyer can provide clarity and advocate for your rights under the policy.
  • Business insurance claims: If you own a business and are dealing with commercial insurance claims (e.g., property damage, liability, or professional indemnity), a lawyer can help ensure your business receives proper coverage.
  • Third-party claims: If you're being sued for liability and your insurance company refuses to defend or indemnify you, an insurance lawyer can help enforce your coverage rights.
  • Appealing long-term disability claims: If your disability insurance claim has been denied, a lawyer can assist in gathering evidence and appealing the decision to get the benefits you deserve.

What Does an Insurance Lawyer Do?

An insurance lawyer provides a wide range of services to assist with insurance-related legal issues. These can include:

  • Reviewing insurance policies: A lawyer can review your insurance policy to ensure you understand your rights and obligations, as well as clarify what coverage is provided.
  • Filing insurance claims: Assisting with the preparation and filing of claims to ensure all necessary documentation is submitted correctly.
  • Challenging claim denials: If your claim has been denied, a lawyer can investigate the reasons for denial and file appeals or lawsuits to challenge the decision.
  • Litigating bad faith claims: Representing clients in bad faith insurance cases, where the insurer fails to act in good faith by unfairly delaying, denying, or underpaying a valid claim.
  • Negotiating settlements: Helping policyholders negotiate settlements with insurance companies to receive fair compensation for claims.
  • Defending against fraudulent claims: Representing insurance companies to defend against false or exaggerated claims filed by policyholders or third parties.
  • Handling disputes over policy language: Interpreting complex insurance policies and resolving disputes between the insured and the insurer regarding coverage limits, exclusions, and conditions.

How Are Insurance Lawyers Paid?

Insurance lawyers typically charge for their services in different ways, depending on the nature of the case and the type of insurance issue involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Contingency fee: For many policyholders disputing claim denials or underpayments, lawyers work on a contingency basis. This means the lawyer only gets paid if they win or settle the case, taking a percentage (usually between 25% and 40%) of the recovered amount.
  • Hourly rate: For more complex or ongoing legal issues, such as bad faith lawsuits or business insurance disputes, insurance lawyers may charge an hourly rate. This rate varies depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For simpler matters, such as reviewing an insurance policy or helping file a claim, some lawyers charge a flat fee for their services.
  • Retainer: For businesses or clients with ongoing legal needs, an insurance lawyer may require a retainer fee, which is an upfront payment for future services.

It’s important to clarify the fee structure with your lawyer during the initial consultation to avoid unexpected costs.

How Much Does an Insurance Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring an insurance lawyer depends on the complexity of the case, the lawyer's experience, and the payment structure. General cost estimates include:

  • Contingency fees: If your lawyer works on a contingency fee basis, you won’t pay any fees upfront, but the lawyer will take a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or judgment awarded.
  • Hourly rates: Hourly rates for insurance lawyers generally range from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and location. Complex cases involving bad faith or high-value business claims may require significant hours, leading to higher legal costs.
  • Flat fees: For specific services, such as reviewing an insurance policy, lawyers may charge a flat fee ranging from $500 to $2,500, depending on the complexity of the task.
  • Retainers: Businesses or individuals seeking ongoing insurance legal services may pay a retainer, which can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the lawyer and scope of work.

Make sure to discuss costs and payment structures with your lawyer before proceeding to understand how much the services will cost.

Top Questions to Ask an Insurance Lawyer

Before hiring an insurance lawyer, it’s important to ask the right questions to ensure they are the right fit for your case. Here are key questions to ask:

  1. What experience do you have with insurance law?
Ensure the lawyer has specific experience handling cases involving your type of insurance, whether it’s auto, health, home, or business-related.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer works on contingency, hourly rates, or flat fees, and ask for an estimate of the total cost of your case.
  3. What is your success rate with insurance disputes?
Ask about the lawyer’s track record in winning or settling cases similar to yours.
  4. What are my chances of success?
A good lawyer will provide an honest assessment of your case’s strengths and weaknesses and outline the possible outcomes.
  5. How long will the process take?
Get an estimate of how long it will take to resolve your claim or dispute, as some cases can extend over months or even years.
  6. Will you handle my case personally?
In larger firms, junior attorneys or paralegals may handle some aspects of your case. Make sure you know who will be managing your case.

How to Check the Credibility of an Insurance Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a reputable insurance lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and experience:

  • Verify their state bar license: Check with your state bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with no disciplinary actions.
  • Review their experience in insurance law: Look at the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in insurance law and have experience with cases like yours.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Search for reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about the lawyer’s expertise and professionalism.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should be able to provide references from past clients who have dealt with similar insurance issues.
  • Check for industry memberships: Membership in organizations like the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) can indicate the lawyer’s focus on insurance law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most out of your first consultation with an insurance lawyer, come prepared with the following documents and information:

  • A copy of your insurance policy: Bring the policy related to your claim or dispute so the lawyer can review the coverage details.
  • Any correspondence with the insurance company: Provide copies of letters, emails, or other communications between you and your insurer regarding the claim or denial.
  • Proof of claim and supporting documents: Bring any documentation you have submitted with your claim, including receipts, invoices, photos, medical records, or repair estimates.
  • List of questions: Prepare a list of questions you want to ask about your case, the legal process, and the potential outcomes.
  • Timeline of events: Be ready to provide a clear timeline of the incident that led to the claim and any steps you’ve taken with your insurance company.

By preparing thoroughly for your consultation, you can ensure that the lawyer has all the information they need to assess your case and provide the best legal advice.
