No narcissist, abuser, bully, intimidator, gas lighter, manipulator, or exploiter are too big for Kirk Davis! My case was complicated and multi-faceted. I had difficulty finding an attorney to take my case. I am eternally grateful Kirk Davis accepted the challenge. I assumed I would lose most of my award to all the medical fees I incurred. After her intake coordinator spoke with me, she told me Melissa would be calling me to discuss further. Unfortunately, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident January of 2020. I had attempted to resolve the claim with the other carrier, however my ongoing injuries and prognosis made it clear I would need help resolving my claim. We had reached the statute and needed to file suit. Melissa did a great job of explaining the process, preparing me for my deposition and later the mediation with the other carrier and setting clear expectations regarding settlement. I felt that she truly listened to my concerns and was advocating on my behalf, not just trying to get a case off her desk or get me to accept an offer I didn't feel was fair. She paid attention to the information I provided and knew my case when discussing it with me or the mediator. She exceeded my expectations when it came to settlement and resolution of my liens with my PIP carrier and health insurance. I would recommend Melissa to my family, friends, and/or anyone seeking legal representation. Should I have misfortune of being in another motor vehicle accident, I will be calling Melissa to advise.

I went to Mel after my LTD cut off my monthly benefits. Anyone that is currently looking for a disability attorney knows how traumatic and stressful the whole process is. Mel is an exceptionally skilled, competent, and knowledgeable attorney. Following Mel's guidance, and putting my trust in his abilities, he was successful in resolving my situation to my fullest satisfaction. Nothing happens fast in the LTD world. However, Mel's experience instilled a great confidence (knowing that I was doing the right thing, and going down the right path). While nothing is guaranteed in this world, being able to have confidence in anything dealing with LTD is a rare commodity and hard to come by. My family and I couldn't be happier with the way Mel conducted himself, communicated, and ultimately in the result he was able to secure. I only wish that I would have secured his services earlier on so that I could have either avoided the whole appeals process altogether or that I would have seen it coming a mile away so I would have been better prepared to contend with it when it happened. Regardless, I will now continue to retain Mel's services for my ongoing needs. I can't recommend Mel highly enough!!!

He takes the time to understand you as a person, and your specific health issues, in order to best represent you as his client. Mel was instrumental in helping us put together an appeal after being removed from long term disability insurance. He guided us through what is a very opaque and stacked process. He was also able to identify nefarious practices and places where Unum was trying to mislead us and make the appeal more difficult. Without Mel, I am not sure we would have been able to get reinstated. His ability to help, his understanding when hearing our story, and his tenacious legal ability allowed us to put together an irrefutable packet of evidence to combat Unum. He was critical to our success.

A section in the non-compete clause had been keeping me up at night—it made no sense, even after running it through numerous analyses. I chair the board of a large condo building in Portland that hired Tony to reach attractive settlements in two separate building issues. I recommend him for his willingness to help legal committees avoid the intra-building anger that accompanies such unfortunate events and his readiness to settle as soon as attractive terms can be achieved.
The first complaint we had was for a piece of building equipment. We had initially retained a different lawyer but quickly became concerned that her desire to litigate until all appeals were exhausted wasn't in keeping with the low-drama solution our owners wanted. After switching, Tony negotiated a settlement that avoided court by tying any future payments to actual future repairs instead of insisting on an upfront check.
Our second issue was much larger in both dollars and breadth but the board wanted to go with an attorney that would guide the case to a good compromise and try to avoid spiraling into never ending appeals. Tony prepared for trial throughout the case and pre-trial motions were a big part of setting the stage for a very successful settlement but always focused on the goal: a pre-trial settlement that would fully protect owners. Our owners wanted the pain that litigation causes to be recognized by their counsel and have that counsel deliver results; Tony did so.

I chair the Board of Directors at the Encore (177 unit high-rise condo in Portland, OR). The Encore condo owners association entered into an engagement agreement with Tony Rafel in August 2012 for general counsel and other legal services following turnover of condo association responsibility from the developer to owners.
Since that time Mr. Rafel has provided very effective legal service to the Encore on a wide range of important matters, including negotiating successful agreements on building defect, mechanical and plumbing system problems, as well as advising and supporting the Board on contracts, resolutions and policy and rules matters.
As volunteer Board members, we appreciate Tony's solid knowledge and experience in condo association law and especially defect claims. He is able to communicate complex legal and technical issues in a way that homeowners can understand and take appropriate action through the condo owners association and the Board.
Tony is very responsive to telephone and email inquiries and readily available to meet with the Board or property management staff, often during evening meetings. He is also respectful of our association's limited budget for legal support and very effective at helping us to balance cost and benefit considerations when approaching legal matters.
His sound judgment and excellent legal advice has greatly benefited the Encore and its owners. He has enabled the Encore to weather the inevitable bumps and conflicts in first few years following owner control of the condo association and put us on a more stable path for success.
On behalf of the Encore Board of Directors, I commend Tony Rafel for his great partnership with the Board and Encore owners during the past four years and recommend him to other condo associations seeking legal support and services.

I had an IRA investment that had gone bad due to the neglect of the manager of the hedge fund in which the IRA was invested. Tony met with me, and quickly got up to speed on the 6" stack of documents supporting my complex situation. Since the hedge fund was located in Oregon, and I live in Washington state, it was imperative that my attorney be licensed in both states, which Tony is. Thanks to his comprehensive grasp of the situation, he wrote a compelling letter to the hedge fund manager on my behalf. Fortunately, we did not have to resort to filing a lawsuit, but Tony instead was able to negotiate an excellent settlement. The settlement took several months to negotiate, but Tony kept after it, and made sure it didn't languish. After the settlement agreement was signed, he kept on top of the payment schedule, and even had to press for payment in a couple of instances. At this point, all but the final payment have been received, and I fully expect to receive that final one as well! Throughout the process, Tony responded quickly to my emails, and was very professional. He provided sound advice, and was a firm negotiator on my behalf. He was a delight to work with, and I highly recommend him!

I originally hired Sean because a plumbing company had caused structural damages to floor joists during a renovation and they would not accept responsibility. What happened instead was Sean transferred me to Joe and the lawsuit lasted 2 1/2 years. We ended up going to arbitration and I won all damages but zero lawyers fees.
Incredibly frustrating experience.
I wouldn’t hire nor recommend them.
I regret hiring Sean and Joe.

I worked with Will Reingold, Jr for my divorce, who was recommended to me by a friend. He was friendly and knowledgeable for a process that is painful for most. The guy always works and never seems to miss a beat. He is always on top of it and prioritizes to get things done/executed like you're his only client. He made efforts to resolve more complicated challenges like parental rights of embryos even though it's not his wheelhouse.

In 2019 I had a very tough immigration case and I hired another law firm and it didn’t go well, I spend more than 3k and finally my case got denied due to the lawyer’s irresponsible action. A few months later a friends of mine suggested to contact Amsale’s law firm. She was very kind, positive , thoughtful and a good listener. She listened the entire issue with the previous law firm, and what surprised me was her focus to resolve the problem instead of nailing down.

I made the best decision when I chose Catherine Fleming of Fleming Law to represent me in my lawsuit against the city of Seattle. I had a bicycle crash on a poorly marked Seattle street which left me semi-paralyzed and permanently in a wheelchair. Catherine is a personal injury attorney but has a special interest in representing injured cyclists, pedestrians or vehicle drivers who sue municipalities for negligent road design. My case was a complicated one due to a preexisting condition, but Catherine had built a strong case, and the city did not want to risk going to trial. They proposed settling out of court, and during her skillful mediation, I was granted a 7-figure settlement, an amount which far exceeded my expectations and for which I am forever grateful to Catherine. This can only be attributed to her in-depth preparation, knowledge of the law, and prior experience with cases against the city of Seattle.
I found Catherine because of another attorney’s high praise. After my wife’s bicycle crash in Seattle and subsequent spinal surgery, we faced an uncertain future. Before, she had been a strong cyclist and active hiker, but now was confined to a wheelchair with incomplete paraplegia.

I was involved in a collision with an uninsured motorist in Fall 2023.
