My son ended up on the wrong side of the law several years ago. His situation was a long, drawn-out and extremely complicated one that involved state and federal charges. We hired Lee to represent my son’s dad in a federal indictment. Lee, his assistant Will, and their receptionist Mrs. Williams (I think is her name) were AMAZING!!! Not only did we get the smallest amount of time sentenced on the federal indictment but he also got every single state case dismissed andmy son’s dad had many of them! They kept us informed and made sure we understood everything! The very few times they weren’t available when I called, they called me back within 24 hours. Not once did they make me feel like a burden and I literally called them EVERY day and sometimes multiple times a day! I wanted to began by saying that if you are looking for a honest and hard working attorney Mr.Bogan is the way to go, he always made me understand my husbands options and always made it our choice on what we wanted to do after giving us his legal counsel. In my case it was looking bad for my husband,it looked like he was going to be in jail for a while but Mr. Bogan fought and managed to reduced the years they were giving him, something that I thought would not happen. Mr Bogen was assigned my son's case as a public defender in Kaufman county back in July of 2022. My son faced serious charges that sadly he was guilty of. However the focus of Mr Bogen from day one was to get my son the help he needed to get over his addictions and live a successful life without this mistake being held over my son's life forever. When Kaufman county refused to help my son, Mr Bogen fought them hard and got them to dismiss the charges in a short 2 months. He also gave a dose of reality to my son's mom and made her realize that she had to step up or see her first born in prison for up to 40 years.
He went above and beyond and got the best possible outcome for my son. He fought hard for a client that the county was paying for, at no point did I feel like he was not fighting 100% with all of his tools to win.
My only regret is he does not handle Family Law cases.

No matter what day or time if we called Mr. Bogen and he couldn’t answer us right away he would text right away that he was in the middle of something and he kept his word by always calling back. I was arrested and taken to jail with a DWI . I’ve never had any convictions or been in that situation before so everything was new to me. Not only to mention I’m a DACA holder, so everything and anything could hurt my status.As a young adult is hard to be taken serious due to our age.We still want this matter taken care off the best way possible because our future is on the line. Efrain was very professional and what I like to call “ The Goat” he took care of business. After going to court for almost 1.5 yrs he always made sure I knew everything was going to be handle in the best way possible. And finally it did, my DWI was dropped to a lesser charge and I was able to keep my DACA. My case was quite difficult due to my immigration status. Although I am in the process of fixing through my wife, probation was a risky option. Going to report to probation would risk me getting deported. Mr. Sain handled my case better than anyone else could have. My divorce case was fairly simple. It was just about the money. Bill returned calls quickly, during breaks at court, or mediation. Email turnaround was quick also, depending on the complexity of the information and documents to be reviewed and modified thus removing the necessity to meet in person to go over documents time and time again. This was a bonus for me!

We dealt with Bill on a fairly simple, yet unfrequent issue: seller refused to release 15k in earnest money after cancellation of contract. The issue? Paperwork reached seller at 5:06pm instead of the 5:00pm deadline.
I sent Bill copies of all docs, set up chronologically by me. He interpolated with advice and found all possible contract loopholes. Then recommended that I, the buyer, write the seller pointing out the faults of the contract, and that they would likely end up having to release the funds, plus fork-out all additional costs - likely a few thousand each. Worked like a charm. As Tony Soprano would say: baddabim-baddaboom. His final bill wasn't exorbitant either. Def-rec!

Guys ... please don’t do this alone! I started out doing the friendly, no-lawyer divorce. We poked around on the internet, read the law and I was about to give the farm away.
I’m a relatively smart guy and able to figure most things out, but this ... way out of my league. I had a very simple divorce, no minor children, no real assets - only a house, nothing really to "fight" for. I surrendered all the furniture and was trying to be fair.
Bill was great, laid out the facts, applied his experience (don’t underestimate the need to find someone with experience), looked at the whole picture, and talked me off the ledge. I was giving too much.
We ended up going through mediation, Bill was calm and drama free, which seemed to irritated my ex-wife’s lawyer - bonus. Bill was rational and thoughtful with the mediator.
Bill listened when he needed too, asked only the questions he needed, and gave me some great advice. I know consider this an investment that has paid off. I was looking at years of support and contact with my ex-wife. After mediation, that was it. No support, no contact, life is good now.
I highly recommend you at least talking to Bill, see where you stand. Then decide, but you’ll do like I did and move forward with him.

I hired John in August 2016 for my divorce after having retained another attorney from this site in March 2016 for my divorce case. John was referred to me by an attorney at work. On our initial consultation I was looking to switch attorneys because of having a simple divorce case with a irregular retirement division which my first attorney made very complicated. John was presented with the same information I provided to the first attorney and he understood what I was wanting to achieve right away. He gave me three possible solutions with the pros and cons and advised as to my request not the norm. John said I was being very generous, but knew my intent was to do the right thing. We only met the one time and as of 11-4-16 I am divorced and was the result we wanted from the beginning with decree and a retirement QDRO.
I would highly recommend John and will be referring him when people ask. I think a personal reference is the best review source to find an attorney to meet you need.

My wife and I have fortunately never had to engage an attorney until our teenage son did something to change that.
Not knowing where to go, we consulted various sites to obtain names of attorneys that have expertise in defending juveniles charged with criminal/delinquent conduct.
That process led us to call John and we met him shortly thereafter. He immediately put us at ease with his calm demeanor. He walked us through the various steps in the legal process describing what we should expect to happen over the next several months. In addition, his fee was reasonable for the work he anticipated doing.
In that initial meeting he also met privately with our son and was very clear as to what our son needed to do to make sure his future suffered as little damage as possible from this event. His advice made sense and he quickly gained the respect of our son who does not always take advice readily.
From that meeting through the disposition of his case last week John kept us updated on progress as well as answered any of the (many) questions we had about the process.
The results were as good as we could expect given the circumstances and John had a great deal to do with that.
This whole situation has been difficult for our family but one positive outcome is that we hired the right attorney to guide us through the process. I hope to never have to hire an attorney for this type of matter again, but if I did I would not hesitate to re-engage John or recommend him to anyone who needs an attorney in the area of juvenile law.

Lady that runs the library pretty much always grumpy and generally unfriendly BUT it’s run efficiently, stays clean, rest of the staff is pretty helpful and knowledgeable on where to point you. They are not lawyers and can NOT give legal advise.
Dealing with general public can be a handful, especially people constantly on their phones and being loud- it is a library people!
Great resources with blank forms for pro se, law books and computer research on Westlaw one hour per day.
ALWAYS bring cash for copies, yes they have copy machine. And please be nice to them and stay off your phone while in there. 😀
