Attorney Lenox was consulted on a criminal matter for a friend of mine! Attorney provided my friend with all his options! He also suggested to my friend his options could be handled better with an attorney who can navigate the court system.

I hired Roger Lenox’s a couple of times many, many moons ago. After consulting with several of Dallas Top Attorney’s None could compare. He was my choice and for several reasons; Maybe it was the natural humbling spirit I got upon sitting in his office, or the pure honest knowledge/advice he gives. Roger worked diligently to assist me rather it was financially or spiritually. I was never surprised about the outcome of my case. Yes, he was my attorney but more like my friend. I’ve recommended him to several people and we all have the same story about his quality of work. It’s been numerous years and I still call him with any concerns and He’s still the same caring guy he was 20 years ago. #BESTATTORNEYIKNOW

He was sure to explain the process of the case with me and always updated me on any new information in or about the case. He was patient in helping me understand the more complex terms regarding the case. He dedicated a lot of time to helping me resolve this issue, as my case took 4 years to be completely resolved due to several instances of complications. I am very grateful to him for the overall experience that he showed through his actions and preparation.

HORRIBLE lawyer, doesn't communicate....take your money and don't even try but talk a real good game to get your money. He keeps his assistant debbie in the dark. She never knows anything. I want a refund. I have so much more to say. I'll break it down over several post if I can.

I engaged Ms. Johnson to assist with drafting and implementing both a separate property agreement and a prenup. She ultimately was well positioned to assist with my divorce proceedings. I was most impressed with the level of professionalism and responsiveness Ms. Johnson displayed. My filings were handled with great detail and timeliness and the transparency in the overall process was communicated effectively on the onset of the engagements. I unequivocally recommend Ms. Johnson as a solution to your legal needs.

Had a good experience working with this litigation team. They were not only comprehensive in their approach but also friendly and supportive. Every step of the process was explained clearly, and they held my hand through each phase, making a complicated situation feel manageable. Their guidance was invaluable, especially for someone like me who didn't know where to start. Highly recommended for anyone in need of both expertise and genuine support!

This lawyer came highly recommended! He NEVER went and saw his client! He didn’t communicate as he assured he would! Once he got his money it was radio silence! He never informed the family of canceled court dates knowing that they were driving in from Houston! He’s arrogant and very smug! He talked crazy and was very argumentative with my mother who’s a senior citizen! He lied and was very disrespectful and when I asked him to apologize, he said he would but didn’t! This is a stressful time for families and for a PAID attorney to behave this way is unacceptable! This is why SOME PEOPLE don’t like working with attorneys of our own skin! I wouldn’t recommend Andrew to help with a parking ticket!

Only reason why they are getting 2 stars is because they won my case.Mainly because the attorney I had there was amazing. But they drove her off near the end of my case and that's when everything went down hill. My case ended in February and I have been waiting for my reimbursement from my trust with them. They have continually said they have sent a check in the mail. But it never comes, I have called multiple times and asked that they wire it back to my account for a month straight and they still refuse to do so. It has been over 6 months and they blatantly refuse to return my money. I would not advise anyone using this firm.

Do not hire this lawyer especially for immigration issues. The process is already stressful enough then add an inefficient lawyer to the process. A complete nightmare. I absolutely regret hiring ms rita. She never returns calls or updates you on the process. Instead she shouts and argues with her clients. They dont pick or return office calls and what is supposed to take one day ends up taking months.

DO NOT HIRE. One of the WORST lawyers I have ever experienced in my life. Reyna has not ONCE went to see my loved one locked up to talk to him about anything regarding the case, lies constantly about the case ("oh they are re-reviewing the questioning again, next court date in a month"), lies about the DA saying things that are not in fact being said or done, lies about talking to the judge, lies about even going to court and THREATENS time to be served on clients (in our case, it was 25 years threatened). Multiple people have told me this same thing has happened to them (I've even heard someone say he threatened 99 years on a client, which is ridiculous and makes no sense). We are currently in the process of firing him after a full year of nothing from this man. Super unprofessional, DO NOT HIRE!!!

This guy sits on Richardson Municipal court as a traffic judge. We should have age cap for judgeship in US. Old folks shouldn’t be any decision-making role, whether it’s for US presidency, Supreme Court or, traffic court. For the same kind of ticket, he gave different verdicts to two separate individuals. For exactly identical tickets. Because he didn’t like the color of my skin. Very discriminative and hostile behavior. Disappointed on the integrity of the court.

Tom Damore represented me in a DUI case in Dallas. I had taken someone to the closest ER in a neighboring city. It was night, and there was major construction around LBJ Freeway. I didn't know the road we arrived in was closed going the way back. We left Dallas Medical Center at 3 am. I was sleepy, and was trying to figure out where to turn to get back home. There were few street lights; my windshield was dirty. I stayed too long at a light at the intersection which had a simple one-light system. I don't drink and refused the walk test because of muscle and nerve damage in my legs. After being arrested and charged with DUI, it took several years for Dallas County to do what they agreed to do. Mr. Damore was patient and helped me deal with the criminal justice system. It would have been much more difficult without him. The DUI was dismissed! Thanks, Tom D'amore! I am very grateful for your help.

They relieved me from all the stress i was going thru. Up to right now they have done an exellent job dealing with not just one but with several cases in different counties. On top of all that the quote he gave me was super really good compared to all thus other attorneys i went before i found him. He also lets you work wirh him on payments and in case you are shorth he will give you the chanse to pay him what you can. The entire office is rude and has a terrible lack of communication. Actually, i take that back. It's not a terrible lack of communication it's actually non-existent. They NEVER follow through with what they say they'll do, and when you are forced to follow up with them due to their negligence, they have the nerve to be rude. And yes this includes the attorney Kenneth as well!! It's as if they're bothered that clients are actually expecting them to do the job that they've been paid to do! I would never in a million years refer anyone to this attorney nor do i wish to ever cross paths with them again.

Mr. Chu was a savior. He appealed my deportation judgement with the BIA and assisted me in filing an ineffective counsel plea for my previous attorney and having the case remanded. If it wasn’t for Mr. Chu’s diligent hard work and faith in me I would not be in the US anymore. After going to court with me the immigration judge decided to terminate my case and throw it out lacking merit after a 6 year pursuit. First time meeting Mr. Chu I did not get a good impression of him. I and a family member arrived at his office for consultation. Although, we arrived on time for our appointment we still had to wait for awhile until his meeting with a previous client is finished, which is understandable since important meetings should not be rushed. However, our turn had eventually been procceeded to meet him; a friendly extension of his handshake was not offered, no introduction from his part, a high-mighty attitude or behavior was displayed along with his open-collar loose dark shirt. Perharps, that was his norm of dressing in his office or getting ready for drinks at a high-class bar later, which it was perfectly fine, he deserves to relax with his hard working ethics here and there. It seemed like he already became a judgemental upon us stepping into his office based on his leaned back chair sitting behavior. We presented him a small case (not serious) and wanted to hear from a professional legal aspect. An overcharging fee of 20-25 minutes of consultation, he complied to us of contacting him if we had further legal questions. Later on that day, we called him for a question and sounded like we interrupted him. He claimed he would call us back, but never did. I have met attorneys of similar fields department with high credentials in the past, but their professionalism and positive attitude well exceeded William Chu's.

I am reading the bad reviews about Mr. Ashford and that is not the man that I got for my son case. He was very honest about my son situation and let me know the choices that he had. My son had one of the worst cases you can have. Every time I called him his receptionist would answer and tell me he wasn't in, and she would take a message and make sure he got it. He would call me back when he could, no it was not right away, but he always returned my calls. When you get a lawyer, we have to understand that our family member is NOT the only client they have. He could be handling 20 other cases at one time. He is an attorney for Juveniles and adults. Yes, we all want them to stop what they are doing and cater to our loved ones, I'm no exception to that, but that's just not how it is. We want certain outcomes, knowing darn well it's a 50/50 chance it could go the other way. Be realistic about the outcome of the situation. Just like my son case. It was not what I wanted but it was the best decision for his situation. Then when you don't get the outcome, you want. The attorney gets bashed. They are the attorney for a reason if you could do the job yourself then you wouldn't need him. I had to learn to be patience and know that he would get to me just as soon as he could, and that's exactly what he did. It didn't make me feel less important at all. Respect your attorney, talk with sense when you speak to them, be patience, and be realistic about the situation. Mr. Ashford thank you 1,000 times for your dedication on my son case, and even checking on me to see how I was holding up. If you are looking for an attorney do not hesitate to call him. He is a VERY, VERY, good attorney.

George Ashford III failed to communicate and provide updates on a case. I understand that if the courts a public defender to defend you. The attorney pretty much works for the courts. How is this fair? I feel that he did not fight for me when I needed him the most. Although, I did not personally hire him, Dallas County did, I feel that he could have at least put forth an effort to fight for my freedom or a lesser sentence.

I've been waiting a long time to decide if I wanted to post this review. I'm not a mean-spirited person and when I have a conflict, professional or otherwise, with someone, I tend to want to just put it behind me. But as I've seen friends and family members in the Dallas area work their way through the pain of a divorce, I've decided that I should probably go ahead and bite the bullet. I was extremely happy with Audrey's responsiveness when I came in to see her for my consultation. She seemed to understand exactly what I was going through with my very abusive husband. I paid her the full amount of her retainer. The first thing she did was make a recommendation that I felt was unethical. I decided not to do it, because I was certain my ex-husband's attorney would see right through it since it is a common, if somewhat underhanded, tactic. I don't know if that refusal was why she decided to stop answering my emails and phone calls, but from that point on, I spent more than a full year trying to get her to do what she said she was going to do. I made appointments with her that she didn't attend. I sent hundreds of emails over two years, and she only responded to about 5% of them. She filed motions that she didn't tell me she was going to file, and that I didn't get a chance to review prior to filing. She ignored attempts from my ex-husband's lawyer to contact her and move things along. When I tried to talk to her about how disappointed I was in her lack of responsiveness, she scolded me for sending her so many communications. Most importantly, I recently learned that she did not file the actual divorce paperwork when she said she did, and my ex-husband ended up filing first. She did not adequately stand up for me in court during the initial hearing, and seemed unwilling to schedule any further hearings. She did not deliver paperwork to me that I had a right to see. Working with Audrey brought me an incredible amount of anxiety and grief. Eventually I fired her and hired another attorney. When my new attorney attempted to contact her to get all of the paperwork, she did not receive a response from Audrey's office. After hiring a new attorney, it took only 5 months to finalize a divorce that had, at that point, taken almost two years to work through. Audrey is clearly a very intelligent and knowledgeable lawyer. She came highly recommended from another lawyer I know who held her in very high esteem. In the rare instances when I felt like Audrey was working for me and attending to me as a client, I felt well taken care of. However, on the whole, my experience with Audrey was such that I cannot help but urge anyone going through a difficult divorce process to choose another attorney.

I have hired this young lady to to obtain visitation rights for my children and to hold my children's mother for denying me visitation in the past.without the courts I have absolutely no way of seeing my children. as I have thoroughly explained that to Audrey.I have shown her 10 police reports stating that she deny me my rights to see my children. including one that said she would rather go to jail then to let me see my children. Audrey was not moved at all to help as she took my money. the children are in a household where there was domestic violence. I've told her that I need everything done legally and by the court as you can see and I have experience being a black man going before the policeto see my children I'm already a victim. the first person they want to arrest is me unless I show them document real fast. she did not take me seriously but it seems that she helped the mother as my case got worse dealing with an inexperienced Attorney such as Audrey.Audrey had an opportunity to help to young lady my daughters my beautiful daughters to obtain a relationship with their father whom they love and I love but audrey has failed. Don't know why she did not carry out the orders but it seems that she worked out an agreement with the other parties Attorney because everything she told me she was going to do she did not do. Not only does she represents her people wrongly her appearance is extremely terrible in and out of the courtand to top it all her secretary Mary has been terrible attitude as well I came to Audrey by recommendation of a friend whom I trusted. Do not hire this attorney is he's a joke and I still don't have a relationship with my daughters. in society they say black men don't want to be a part of their child's life look at Audrey she's part of the reason because we want to be a part of our children's life we just can't get qualified help

Court appointed. I've read nothing but negative reviews. My son is a first time offender in a federal case that he is not proud of, but ..life happens. Vincent is not good at returning calls/ text/ giving updates. I would have thought he has some sense in speaking to a woman with some kind of etiquette, but that's not the case. Being a single mother with her young adult child that has never been in trouble is beyond any words. I gave up on trying to speak with him (maybe I'm just being a mom and want to know every step. But can you bla.e me?) and pray that he will do what he.. as an attorney signed up to do which is to do all he possibly can to fight for the best deal and the best less time possible. Like I said, maybe I'm just too much in the mix and I whelming him as well with all my questions. So, I leave it in God's hands and pray that Vincent will come through. I will continue to update regarding his service.

I admit I screwed up and found myself facing multiple criminal charges. The first attorney I talked to wanted 10 grand and I balked on that and eneded up with Vincent at a liitle more than a 1/3 that price. What a huge mistake. I thought things were ok until the end and then it was obvious Vincent felt as if he had done enough for the price paid and he simplt stopped responding to my texts and emails. Not only that but if I didn't know any better I would assume this was his first criminal case. He didn't tell many pertinent things and everything he did tell me was incorrect. Two of those things did end up in my favor, I got 3 years probation instead of the 5 he told me I would probably get and the 200 hours of community service turned out to be 180. Everything else was a negative for me. The suspension of my license, the inability to reclaim my property from the police and time in jail and were just a few of the items I was mislead on. At the end he just stopped responding to me and asked that I talk to his paralegal Irene. She was one of the rudest most condesending human beings I have ever dealt with. IMO Vincent should settle on one aspect of law and do it well, instead he spreads himself thin and does a poor job. I don't think Vincent is a bad person, just a bad lawyer.

He has no empathy even just at a human level. My friend had warned me but I had started using him already before he told me. My case was stagnant and I do not think he had it filed maybe because he either chose not to or was rejected due to his suspension. By this time I was already down over $1000 on attorney fees alone. He also makes up additional fees that you may not suspect because you may not understand the law, this, I learnt from a different attorney. A year later, he kept giving excuses and does not bother giving an update even just by email and waits for you to call only to get another excuse because he is not organized. He blamed his secretary on one occasion something no one would want to hear. He pulls in new clients with free consultation. I took off before it was too late. My friend had a traffic case that he learnt had not been filed with the courts from another lawyer as well.

This office filed a claim with the insurance without proper documentations, when I asked to get information about what they sent to the insurance and the status of the case, they refused, stating that they will review my file and get back to me. I spoke with Fidelis, who told me to come to his office, pick up my file and get out of his office , he also said other things I rather not mention in this review, so uncalled for... Come to find out, he is was actually disciplined in 2016 by the board. Very unprofessional, untruthful and very rude. Run away from this firm.

I don't know why he's doing so bad as an attorney, It's like everything he learned in law school was pointless. He's good at making appointments, but never showing up or emailing you, his employers are rude, there's was one time in particular that a lady answering the phone for the office started to yell at me. He didn't go to the best school either.

If I could give this attorney a half a star I could. His staff is extremely rude and for some reason. I had to send my documents more than 4 times and every time I would talk to the attorney he wouldn't even know anything about my case. He would treat me like if I was in the wrong when I paid him to represent me not to judge me. The only time we were supposed to be at court he didn't show up. The whOle time I had him as my attorney he didn't even represent me not even once but yet he took my money. One time I showed up for court and his office forgot to let me know that it was cancel. Very unprofessional staff and attorney. Please stay away from this attorney.

This lawyer did not represent me properly and screwed up my life! In 200 I was charged with assault on a person hat had been harassing me for months with threatening phone calls, voicemails, and stalking me at my place of residence. The young lady came over to my apartment and when I opened the door she barged in with a knife and attacked me. My mother and I called the police but she claimed that I stabbed her. So I was placed in jail for three weeks and charges with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. My mother hired Jeff Buckwald to represent me and he urged me to plead guilty. I was 18 years old and scared out of my mind because I did not want to go back to jail. So I plead guilty following my attorneys orders and was convicted. The only thing he was concerned with was getting more money from me. I was young, naive and did not know what I was getting myself into. Now I have been living with a criminal record all this time and my chances of ever getting a decent job or place to live have been ruined. Do not hire this attorney if you want to be represented fairly.

I have tried calling her office, her secetary cell phone, and Kim's personal cell phone several times in the past couple weeks. No answer, no return call, or there is a recording saying the phone is disconnected. I just found out yesterday by my child's therapist that we are to be there next week and pay $300 for the session, which has been set up for 3 weeks. My child's therapist said our lawyer should have contacted us, but she never did. In court, she is quiet, does not fight any points, and will agree to whatever the other side wants without even asking me first. She will tell you that she will argue points and ask for you to provide proof, but then the judge never sees or hears it. I would not recommend her as a lawyer. Keep searching.

What a Juvenile Law Lawyer Can Do for You

A juvenile law lawyer specializes in legal issues involving minors, including those facing criminal charges, child welfare matters, or status offenses (like truancy or curfew violations). Juvenile law lawyers aim to protect the rights of minors and advocate for rehabilitation rather than punishment in criminal cases. They also help families navigate child custody, abuse, neglect cases, and other legal matters involving children.

If your child is facing criminal charges, or you are involved in a child welfare case, a juvenile law lawyer can help protect your child’s rights and work toward the most favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Juvenile Law Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a juvenile law lawyer in the following situations where minors are involved in legal matters:

  • Juvenile criminal charges: If your child is accused of a crime, such as theft, assault, or drug offenses, a juvenile lawyer can represent them in juvenile court, advocating for leniency and alternatives to detention.
  • Delinquency proceedings: A lawyer can help navigate delinquency charges, defending your child’s rights and seeking rehabilitative outcomes like counseling, probation, or diversion programs instead of incarceration.
  • Status offenses: If your child has committed a status offense, such as truancy, running away, or underage drinking, a lawyer can help you resolve these issues in juvenile court, often focusing on rehabilitation rather than punishment.
  • School disciplinary issues: If your child is facing school suspensions, expulsions, or other disciplinary actions, a lawyer can help protect their educational rights and challenge any unfair or unlawful school policies.
  • Child protective services (CPS) investigations: If your family is being investigated by CPS for alleged abuse, neglect, or dependency, a lawyer can represent you and protect your child’s rights throughout the investigation.
  • Custody disputes: A lawyer can help in cases involving child custody or guardianship disputes, ensuring the child’s best interests are prioritized and advocating for the child’s rights.
  • Emancipation: If your child seeks legal emancipation from their parents or guardians, a lawyer can assist in navigating the legal process and help the child understand their rights and responsibilities.

Hiring a lawyer early in the legal process ensures that your child’s rights are protected and that the best possible outcomes are pursued.

What Does a Juvenile Law Lawyer Do?

A juvenile law lawyer provides various services to help minors and their families navigate the legal system. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Representing minors in court: A lawyer will represent your child in juvenile court, advocating for their rights and seeking rehabilitative outcomes rather than punitive measures.
  • Filing motions and legal paperwork: The lawyer handles all necessary legal filings, including petitions, responses, and motions to dismiss charges or suppress evidence.
  • Negotiating with prosecutors: In some cases, a lawyer can negotiate plea deals or diversion programs that prevent the child from having a permanent criminal record or serving time in detention.
  • Advising on rehabilitation programs: Juvenile law lawyers often focus on alternatives to incarceration, such as counseling, community service, or probation, helping minors avoid long-term legal consequences.
  • Handling CPS and child welfare cases: If your family is involved in a CPS investigation or child welfare case, the lawyer can advocate for your child’s safety and well-being, ensuring that their rights are upheld.
  • Defending minors against school discipline: A lawyer can help challenge unfair or excessive disciplinary actions taken by schools, ensuring that your child’s educational rights are protected.
  • Advising families on legal options: A lawyer will explain the juvenile legal process to families, offering advice on the best legal strategies and what to expect during the case.

How Are Juvenile Law Lawyers Paid?

Juvenile law lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the time involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: Many juvenile law lawyers charge by the hour, with rates ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For simpler cases, such as status offenses or school disciplinary hearings, a lawyer may charge a flat fee that covers all legal services related to the case.
  • Retainer: In more complex cases, such as defending against serious criminal charges or handling a long-term CPS investigation, a lawyer may require a retainer, which is an upfront payment billed against as they work on the case.
  • Sliding scale or pro bono services: Some juvenile law lawyers offer sliding scale fees based on income or may provide pro bono (free) services for families who cannot afford to pay full legal fees, especially in cases involving child welfare or delinquency.

Discuss the lawyer’s fee structure during your consultation to understand the total cost and payment options.

How Much Does a Juvenile Law Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a juvenile law lawyer depends on the complexity of the case, the lawyer’s experience, and the time involved. General cost estimates include:

  • Juvenile criminal cases: Legal fees for defending a minor in juvenile criminal cases can range from $2,000 to $10,000 or more, depending on the severity of the charges and whether the case goes to trial.
  • Status offenses: For cases involving minor offenses such as truancy or underage drinking, legal fees typically range from $1,500 to $5,000.
  • CPS or child welfare cases: Legal fees for representing families in CPS investigations or child welfare cases can range from $2,000 to $8,000 or more, depending on the complexity of the case.
  • School disciplinary hearings: Legal fees for representing students in school-related issues may range from $1,000 to $3,500, depending on the legal work required.

Make sure to get a clear estimate of costs during your initial consultation to ensure you understand the full scope of fees and services.

Top Questions to Ask a Juvenile Law Lawyer

Before hiring a juvenile law lawyer, it’s important to ask key questions to ensure they have the experience and expertise to handle your child’s case effectively. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What experience do you have with juvenile law cases?
Make sure the lawyer has handled cases similar to yours, whether it’s juvenile delinquency, child custody, or CPS investigations.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges by the hour, offers flat fees, or requires a retainer. Ask for a detailed estimate of the total cost.
  3. What is the likelihood of success in my child’s case?
Ask the lawyer for an honest assessment of the case, including potential challenges and likely outcomes.
  4. How long will the process take?
Juvenile cases can vary in duration, so ask the lawyer how long they expect the process to last and what factors might affect the timeline.
  5. Will you personally handle my child’s case?
In larger firms, junior attorneys or paralegals may handle parts of the case. Make sure you know who will be managing the case and representing your child in court.
  6. What rights does my child have?
Ask the lawyer to explain your child’s legal rights, including their rights during police questioning, school disciplinary actions, and court proceedings.

How to Check the Credibility of a Juvenile Law Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable juvenile law lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and experience:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice law and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Look for juvenile law experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in juvenile law and have successfully handled cases similar to yours.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for client reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about the lawyer’s professionalism and success rate in juvenile cases.
  • Ask for references: A reputable lawyer should be able to provide references from past clients who have worked with them on juvenile law matters.
  • Check for certifications or memberships: Look for memberships in organizations like the National Juvenile Defender Center (NJDC) or certifications in juvenile law, which can indicate a lawyer’s dedication to representing minors.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first consultation with a juvenile law lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant documents and information. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Court documents: Bring any legal documents related to your child’s case, such as summons, complaints, or court orders.
  • School records: Provide any relevant school records, including disciplinary reports, attendance records, and communications from school officials.
  • CPS or investigation reports: If your case involves child welfare, bring any reports or documentation from CPS or other investigating agencies.
  • Timeline of events: Prepare a detailed timeline of events related to your child’s legal issue, including interactions with authorities or school officials.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Write down any questions about the legal process, your child’s rights, and potential outcomes for the case.

Being well-prepared will help the lawyer assess your child’s situation more effectively and provide the best possible legal advice tailored to your needs.
