I am so happy to share that after 6 years of putting off a divorce, it is finally over with. Uncontested made the entire thing easier than doing your taxes. A few questions you have to fill out and then they take over. As with everything else that is sold online as a service, I originally thought this was fake, a gimmick or just a scam. We'll it definitely isn't. I paid for the premium service (documents, filing, final hearing and court fees), filled out all the documents and I was basically done. I did have a couple questions at start, they contacted me within 48 hours of me requesting help and took care of the worries I had. We did the notary portion within a couple days and we're done. They contacted me and let me know that the process was in the 60 day waiting period before it goes before a judge on June 26th, 2024. The human mind always wanders and I had worries and doubts. August 27th, 2024, I received an email congratulating me that the 60 days were over, no changes were made, and that it was time to put it through to a judge. I was picking up food today, September 4th, 2024, and while I was just browsing youtube, I got a notification of a VIP email. The divorce decree was completed and signed by the judge. I can honestly say that after 4 days shy of a 15 year marriage (the last 6 we've been separated, the last 4 we've lived 3700 miles away from each other), I am happier now than at any point of the marriage. First time ever in jail and looking at felony 2 with a court appointed lawyer and I was terrified by all the horror stories of my fellow inmates. My odds at getting one to actually care to show up and discuss my case with me were little to none. I heard continuously bad things about most court appointed lawyers. They finally assigned one to me four weeks in and by 9 am the next morning his team was there to work to help me. I was blown away. He immediately went to work for me and was never to busy to answer questions of any kind .and put the effort into my case. When my first court date arrived and was reset with no future date I was horrified. Within one week I was out of jail with case dismissed and back at home where I belong. I can't say it enough.. Even though she was the Dist. Atty representing the other side(s) in my case, I must admit, she operates with a cool & calm efficiency that is impressive to say the least! I had the opportunity to watch her meetings(?) with the other "bad guys". She is an expert at timing when it comes to letting the defendants ramble, as in, she gives them the freedom to incriminate themselves, yet she prevents them from derailing the conversation with insignificant & irrelevant details. Additionally, she wouldn't be able to achieve anything I mentioned above if she didn't have the patience of a saint. She is truly an asset to the State Bar & to Bexar County. Her cohort, Leachman, has a moral fiber that's hanging by a thread, but I gotta admit, he does his job w/a gusto and fervor that is rarely seen! These two together are the gruesome twosome and my son will probably inherit his mother's mental illness because of them! ...but ya know what? Screw it! I like these two knuckleheads!
