They don’t respond they are terrible it’s truly sad they are out here making your life harder and not easier. I’ve been calling and emailing nonstop since November no call back no email. NOTHING. They moved the office and didn’t even tell me I had to call the trustee to get an address on them. I’m literally sitting here crying because I’m tired of being on the bus with my 3 small children! They won’t return anything to help me get a car or anything! At this point I’m about to report them to EVERYONE I can until I’m done dealing with these low down lying unprofessional people! They played with the right one😃

I definitely appreciate an awesome attorney. Mr. Abrams and his team always answered my text messages, emails, and returned my phone calls. I never felt gaslighted or ignored by anyone. Mr. Abrams took the time to explain everything to me via over the phone or in-person on the process, hold up, or if they had questions of me. I would recommend him to anyone who ask. Thank you Mr. Abrams and Liz (secretary). Appreciate you.

This review is only for Embrich. My sister and I had a “simple” estate case after we lost our father. Embrich had a great first appointment with us and then disappeared. The estate contained only a house and a car. We do not live in the state of Illinois and were both 3 hours away In opposite directions. This was a non contested estate with a lawyer prepared will. Embrich “lost our email” more than once, failed to file the will in the time stated within the first meeting after we drove 3 hours to place it under her door. Yes, we were told to slide our father’s last will and testament under her door. She rescheduled a court date and told us the judge rescheduled it. We found out from the clerk at the courthouse this was supported by the paperwork the clerk sent us. After the first time she ignored us for months, we thought everything was on track. Nope, she forgot us again when she left her firm to start this new one and failed to contact us. In fact, any contact we did have with her was only because we initiated it and we have pages of documentation. This “simple” estate case lasted well over a year. During a period of grief, she caused months of additional stress and lack of closure due to her client neglect.

Have to be diligent with this organization. You may get positive results. I wouldn't file complaints over minor disputes with an attorney. If the attorney is not working out request the attorney to take their fee and send the remainder back. Not worth paying an attorney that is not interested in defending your rights and adequately representing your side.

I have no feedback for his work as a lawyer, but his personal skills are beyond horrible. After my initial inquiry and multiple attempts to confirm receipt of my fax, he called me and yelled at me non-stop and lied about his calling me back multiple times (I got 1 call 4 days later). He would not let me say a single word for well over a minute. He then hung up on me and when I called him back, he told me to NEVER call his cell phone ever again. He did not return the emails I had sent, and he waited 4 days to tell me he did not receive my faxes and then complained that this all would be blamed on him because I didn't send the document! (Why would I NOT send the documents and then ask multiple times if you received them?!?!) What a horrible representation and initial impression he gave us. Even if I were in the wrong completely, this is no way for reasonable humans to act. Engage this man with caution. He may be a wonderful lawyer, but I would never trust him.

Unethical, uses excuses. Refuses to represent or help. As I said they use excuses. They represent a person and after they win a case. They continue to represent that said person. Without fairness, or justice. The founding fathers would be ashamed of the mockery you have made of a system.

What an awful experience. My teenage son was assaulted by his father and Prairie State agreed to represent me (us) in a modification of visitation. My son was very traumatized by what had happened and felt traumatized again after this. Not ONCE, not EVER, did the attorney agree to meet us in person. It would take many days, or sometimes a week or longer, to even get a return call. Court date after court date the attorney NEVER, NOT ONCE, showed up in court! This went on for MONTHS. The Prairie State attorney would just “ counsel” me over the phone as to what to say or do…..and that is IF I was lucky enough to even get a call back. The attorneys “ counseling “ advise was pretty much useless, as my ex’s attorney was there and would frequently object to me speaking because I wasn’t phrasing something correctly. Even the judge asked me where our representation was at and why was she not there. Thank goodness that the advocates were there to at least give my son and I some emotional support and could try to make recommendations after each court appearance. I would say easily that half of the time we would show up to court to find out the other attorney had requested to change the court date…. I was never notified as apparently they were contacting Prairie State as they were the ones who were supposedly representing us. Finally, after MONTHS, of court dates, a modified order was ordered by the judge. HIS attorney agreed to write up the new order since MY attorney was never present in court. Prairie State mailed me a copy of the “modified “ order HIS attorney mailed them…..it included things the judge ordered changed, BUT also other changes NOT ordered by the judge ( things like he won’t be responsible for carrying health insurance on our son any longer, things like that). I called Prairie State right away after getting the modified order and requested a call regarding and explained what the issue was. After a good week or so, the Prairie State attorney called me wanting to know what the problem was. I explained to her IF she would check court records for what the judge ordered against the original order, she would see that his attorney was making other changes not ordered by the judge or approved by me. I never heard from the Prairie State attorney again nor did she return any of my calls after that. Then the Prairie State attorney, after about 2 months, sends me a letter stating that she is considering the case closed for lack of communication with her… what a complete joke! This was by far one the most horrible things that my son or I have ever had to go through … for an attor I’m sure if I had money like my ex and could of afforded to pay money for representation, this experience would of been at least a little less traumatic. Shame on them!

Didn't get my driver's licence has he promised. He took $2.500 and ripped me off. Beware....he will tell you all is good and at the end you end up losing with all expenses around $5.000. I highly don't recommend him. There are better lawyers out there. Has a lot of failure's. Lying is the worst thing to do to grab a client and someone that doesn't have money. As a potential new client who was looking to have help as a landlord for a tenant eviction I believe the office manager was rude beyond belief. After constantly talking over me, talking down to me and mocking me I have decided to take my business elsewhere. Stevie, the office manager mentioned to me that she has been working in this industry for 45 years however customer service must not be one of the things she learned in the amount of time. She constantly talked down to me when I was only trying to gain clarity about how to send the retainer funds. She would rudely say are you done? I don't have any of your information in front of me in a very angry tone as if it was my fault. As she answered the door and put me on hold, she came back on the phone and I said may we start over? I think we got off on the wrong foot. I let her know that as a potential new customer I feel she was being very rude. She told me then, " I think that you were being very rude to me because I have told you how to send the money. " I told her that she did not let me finish and therefore was missing key information and therefore I was not able to convey to her the full scope of my concerns. I say all of this to say what a poor, poor office manager and I would never ever do business with such quality. It is unfortunate that an office manager has taken money from the table of her employer. If she has done this to me who knows how many others she has treated this way and who knows the amount of money that this company has lost due to her incompetence and lack of customer care

I recently had to deal with Blitt & Gaines, the collection agency for Discover Card, and let me tell you, the experience started off as one of the most toxic interactions I’ve ever encountered. I had just been through a traumatic event in my life and was trying to get things back in order when I called this agency. The first lady I spoke to, who was simply verifying my identity, was incredibly rude and nasty. She made an already difficult situation worse with her toxic attitude. When I asked to speak with her supervisor, I thought things might improve, but unfortunately, it wasn’t much better. Both individuals were extremely condescending and repeatedly made me feel like a bad person for being in this situation. It was truly unbearable, and I was left feeling demoralized. However, after a month or two of trying to navigate this, I finally spoke with a manager named Miss Julie, and let me tell you, she was a ray of sunshine. Julie took the time to talk through everything with me and offered real guidance. She went above and beyond by giving me the names of two people I could contact directly moving forward. I chose to work with Cassandra, and from the moment I spoke with her, things turned around completely. Cassandra was friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared about guiding me through the process. Within just a week or two, I had everything resolved. It made all the difference having someone who treated me like a person, rather than just another case to collect on. While Julie and Cassandra are the reason I’d give this review six stars if I could, I’m holding back from a full five-star rating because of the toxic behavior I experienced from the initial representative and her supervisor. I understand that collections can be a tough business, but there’s absolutely no need for hostility and nastiness. To Julie and Cassandra: Thank you. You made a painful process bearable, and I truly hope Blitt & Gaines recognizes how valuable you are. You treated me with respect and kindness, and that made all the difference. The final settlement amount was nearly the same as what the toxic representatives were demanding, but the difference was that you treated me with decency. If anyone from Blitt & Gaines reads this, please give Julie and Cassandra a raise. They’re the kind of employees who can make your firm more successful.

My experience with Attorney Curtis Ross was nothing short of a nightmare. From the outset, he displayed a level of rudeness and disrespect that was utterly appalling. When I sought clarification on certain legal matters, he dismissed my concerns with the utmost arrogance, labeling my questions as "idiotic." Instead of fulfilling his role as a legal advocate, he left me to fend for myself in court, all the while painting a false picture of me as argumentative. His complete lack of support and guidance was both shocking and deeply disappointing. Save yourself the headache and avoid hiring Curtis Ross at all costs. He is an utter disgrace to the legal profession and will leave you high and dry when you need support the most.

We used Gail for divorce mediation. She was late for every appointment. She clearly hadn't ever review anything prior to our meetings and then never sent us our final documents. She was supposed to connect us with a lawyer at the end who 'she works with' to finalize and file our case, she did not do that, she completely disappeared once our last payment was sent. I called and emailed many times and no one responded. She was slow during meetings and wasn't much help with any questions we had. If it hadn't been during a pandemic we would have changed mediator. Ours was a simple divorce, I would hate someone in the middle of a stressful divorce to have to deal with this unprofessionalism on top of that.

Even though I won my case, this lawyer charged me thousands of dollars to come up with a "fair" (she needs to relearn the definition). Her charges to me were outrageous including lengthy conversations with my EX when she wouldn't even return my phone call or my lawyers. She doesn't understand even the basic of calculations. (Example both parents paid their half of an event to the institution, she would give him credit against me- on over 50 line items even though I also paid directly, basic math is not understood and poor competency.) She is not worth the over $30K I paid to have no outcome except for the Judge to throw out the endless hours due to her poor execution. Use someone else!

Showed up ninety minutes late for first court appearance because she booked two clients at the same time in different courthouses. Lost my three letters of office because she lost her mail. Was confused during court appearances and had to repeatedly ask questions from other attorneys and court staff and was disrespectful to the court recorder who questioned her on something. Accused me of not informing her of information she needed but denied the fact that I had called numerous times and left messages with her secretary and then accused me of being insensitive because she was sick with the flu and couldn’t respond to my calls. Showed up to court and complained the entire time how sick she was. Billed me for two thirds of the entire cost she had quoted me after eight weeks of representation. She had originally agreed to represent me for what she anticipated to take three years. When I questioned her about all of the mistakes she made, her response was “I told you I’ve never done this before” She took advantage of me, a grieving, emotionally distraught widow, one month after losing my spouse. Several other complaints... too many to list...

What a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Can Do for You

A lawsuit or dispute lawyer, often referred to as a litigation lawyer, specializes in handling legal conflicts between individuals, businesses, or organizations. These lawyers represent clients in civil lawsuits, helping to resolve disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation in court. They can assist with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, property disputes, business conflicts, personal injury claims, and more.

If you are involved in a legal conflict and need representation, a dispute lawyer can guide you through the litigation process - from filing or defending against a lawsuit to negotiating settlements or representing you at trial.

When Should I Hire a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a lawsuit or dispute lawyer when you're involved in a legal disagreement that cannot be resolved informally and may require legal action. Common reasons to hire a lawyer include:

  • Breach of contract: If someone has failed to fulfill the terms of a contract, a lawyer can help you file a lawsuit to seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Whether it's a partnership disagreement, shareholder conflict, or a dispute with a supplier or customer, a lawyer can help resolve business-related issues.
  • Property disputes: If you're involved in a dispute over property ownership, boundary issues, or landlord-tenant conflicts, a lawyer can assist in resolving the matter.
  • Personal injury claims: If you were injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a lawyer can represent you in a personal injury lawsuit.
  • Debt collection or defense: If you're being sued for unpaid debts or need to collect a debt owed to you, a lawyer can represent you in court or negotiate settlements.
  • Employment disputes: If you're involved in an employment-related dispute, such as wrongful termination or discrimination, a lawyer can help you file a claim and represent you in court.
  • Defending against a lawsuit: If you've been sued, a lawyer can defend you against the claims, challenge the evidence, and negotiate a settlement or represent you at trial.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process can help ensure that your case is properly managed and that your rights are protected throughout the dispute resolution process.

What Does a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Do?

A lawsuit or dispute lawyer provides a wide range of services to help clients navigate legal conflicts and seek resolution. Their tasks typically include:

  • Evaluating your case: Reviewing the facts and evidence to determine the strength of your case or defense and advising you on the best course of action.
  • Filing lawsuits or responding to lawsuits: If you're the plaintiff, the lawyer will file a lawsuit on your behalf. If you're the defendant, they will respond to the lawsuit and build a defense strategy.
  • Gathering evidence: Collecting and reviewing evidence such as contracts, emails, financial records, and witness statements to support your case.
  • Handling negotiations: Negotiating with the opposing party to reach a settlement before the case goes to trial, which can save time and money.
  • Representing you in court: Presenting your case in court if a settlement cannot be reached, including presenting evidence, questioning witnesses, and making legal arguments on your behalf.
  • Exploring alternative dispute resolution (ADR): Suggesting mediation or arbitration as alternatives to a trial, which can be faster and less expensive.
  • Drafting legal documents: Preparing and filing necessary legal documents such as complaints, motions, and responses, as well as drafting settlement agreements if a resolution is reached.

How Are Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyers Paid?

The fee structure for lawsuit or dispute lawyers varies depending on the complexity of the case, the type of dispute, and the lawyer's experience. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Many lawsuit lawyers charge by the hour, especially for cases that require extensive preparation, research, and trial work. Hourly rates typically range from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Contingency fee: In certain cases, such as personal injury or breach of contract claims, a lawyer may work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win the case, usually taking a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of the settlement or damages awarded.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as filing a simple lawsuit or representing you in mediation, some lawyers may charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: In complex cases or long-term litigation, a lawyer may ask for a retainer, which is an upfront payment to secure their services. The lawyer will then bill against the retainer as they work on the case.

Discuss the fee structure with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand how fees will be handled throughout the case.

How Much Does a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Cost?

  • Contingency fees: If your lawyer works on a contingency basis, expect them to take 25% to 40% of any settlement or court award. For example, if you win $100,000 and the contingency fee is 33%, the lawyer would receive $33,000.
