Sandy has honestly been my legal port is a storm, helping me navigate a very difficult divorce with the utmost professionalism and compassion. She gives me peace of mind because with her by my side throughout this process, my rights were not only defended but protected. As a client, she always made me feel like a priority, never hesitating to answer my multitude of questions, patiently address my concerns and walk me through every aspect of the legal paperwork involved - divorce is never easy, but it's easIER with Sandy's expertise and sincerity helping you feel sure that you will get through this. She really was in this with me and in this for me and for that she has earned not only my confidence and my trust but even most importantly, she has earned my loyalty.

Mr. Alex Castrodale and his team are simply the best. They are always available and responsive. They give you solid advice and did all my legal paperwork diligently, never had to do it twice. I recommend this law firm and Mr Castrodale very highly.

I was recommended the firm by my educational institution since, they had several successful cases with them. I had a chance to work with Alex Castradale one of the attorney who represents Immigration field. Alex, is extremely professional and knowledgeable attorney. He was always quick in response, and always was able to find a time for a call and communication. He was able to answer all of my questions, and provide a valuable advise on the case. It was a pleasure to work with him, highly recommend!

Extremely unprofessional and unqualified in handling legal matters; I had a better idea myself on how to draft my application. The firm included both supporting and contradicting materials in my application and the final application was poor, contradicting and carelessly crafted. Never available for any questions or queries. The entire experience was draining, negative and of being left out in the cold. I wish I had chosen wisely and saved $$$$$.

There is a high turnover of attorneys at this firm. They went through three family law attorneys in a short time. You may blink and your attorney is no longer there. David Steerman is still there, he is an awesome attorney. If you go here for family law, I recommend him.

He literally took our money and went back to Pittsburgh and removed himself from the case. What a creep! These “5” star reviews are paid. I would put money on it.

Mr.Kessler was recommended by an acquaintance of mine. After my initial meeting with i was very impressed with his knowledge and direction pertaining to my personal injury problem. Dealing with my situation and condition over a period of time his advice was spot on. At our last meeting before finalizing my case i couldn't believe the amount of material concerning my case that he had collected. I do believe that his knowledge, experience and continued diligence is the reason for a successful outcome. I know that I would not consider anyone else handling my legal problems for me.

Richard Kessler handled a very sensitive employment issue for me. He was extremely thorough and professional throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend him for any legal issue you may have.

I hired Richard to represent me in an accident case. What a mistake which I could tell from the beginning but hung in there for two wasteful years then preceded to let him go and hire someone else. He did work the first year but the second year I had very little communication from him and his favorite line was " I am working on it". He was lying to me by telling me he was waiting for medical records from two of my doctors, this went on for months until I called the doctors myself, got the records and they preceded to tell me that they never had any requests from him asking for my records. by then the case could have been settled. He would have dragged this on forever if I had not stepped up to the plate and let him go. He was very unprofessional and after the fact found out he has a tendancy to do this with other clients. I would never recommend him to anyone.

I can post emails where she talks about her mystical powers. She will throw you under the bus and not fight for you. She will lie and drop you in the middle of a custody case after she lies and makes you sign your rights away. This lawyer does not fight for you at all. She lies and she doesn't follow the law. Be smart, hire any other lawyer then her. And contact me if you'd like to see her crazy emails.

I reached out to this law firm to just explain a situation I was having with my landlord. I wasn’t seeking a lawyer but just had one legal question I was hoping maybe they could answer for me. I inquired online which sends an email to notify their office. When I received a response, it was an accidental response that one of the members had meant to send to to all of his colleagues, that read “now this one we do not want” . I never received legal help nor hired a lawyer from this firm , & my review is no reflection on how they handle their actual clients or legal cases , however it is a proper representation of my experience with them.

I highly Recommend Gibson & Perkins. I have used their services for approximately 6 years now and been through a few cases together with very positive outcomes. Personally, I have used Paul Fellman and Walter Timby on those occasions. Both, as a team & separately these Attorneys were wonderful to work with and easily accessible to reach if I had any questions. Professionalism is the word that comes to mind to describe the firm, as a whole. Always completely prepared for any surprises that may pop up during a trial. They were well versed on all pertinent info pertaining to each case. As I client, I always felt I was an integral part of the team, not an after-thought, that had to be brought up to speed a half hour before the trial started. I could not recommend this firm and Mr. Fellman and Mr. Timby any higher.

Impossible to get a hold of anyone. My husband and I have left numerous voicemails and asked multiple times in email to call, but they won’t. They supposedly sent multiple letters, checks, and a 1099, none of which we received. They are saying my husband’s settlement check was cashed and won’t get back to us when we tell them we never got it. We don’t have the money and have already filed tax returns that don’t include a 1099 we never received. Do not recommend.

Contacted legal aid in hopes for some assistance with a landlord/tenant matter. Josh Goldblum represented me and my fiancé. Both of us were blown away with how well he carried himself. He gave our case his full attention, so that when we had our hearing, he was prepared down to every last detail. He was respectful, kind, and very knowledgeable. I am SO glad we were able to have him represent us. This guy knows his stuff! Thank you thank you thank you!

Clark Hill handled my mother in law's estate which consisted of one simple investment account. It took approximately 19 months for them complete the final distribution , way longer than than expected. They admitted they "dropped the ball." They did not communicate their progress very well at all. To add insult to injury when we asked for an update because it was taking so long, they then charged us hundreds of dollars in fees just to answer this simple question. I would not have hired them if I knew what I know now. Judge for yourself.

I had to constantly track them down to actually get things done as they were unresponsive and apparently uninterested in working on my case. They were an absolute nightmare to "work with". Three years and 25K in fees later, they got me 1K from an estate with 4 separate houses. They neglected to legally close the case out with the the register of wills four years after we began "working together" and I was threatened with court because of their negligence.

Do NOT let Michael Anderson lie to you. He is the worst attorney I have ever spoken with and begged to represent me and then rug pulled me immediately after gaining my trust. What was I to expect, he went to undergrad at STDU aka Arizona. Michael’s law license should be revoked immediately. Be forewarned!!!

One time my landlord retaliated against me for calling the health department and the attorney representing me contact my landlord and he faxed her photos communicating with each other and she said that she could not make it to the arbitraration . This othere one named Barbara was so rude and nasty saying that a pregnant woman and child can get evicted without a notice on the spot. I said you should know better then that and she walked away from me.

What a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Can Do for You

A lawsuit or dispute lawyer, often referred to as a litigation lawyer, specializes in handling legal conflicts between individuals, businesses, or organizations. These lawyers represent clients in civil lawsuits, helping to resolve disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation in court. They can assist with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, property disputes, business conflicts, personal injury claims, and more.

If you are involved in a legal conflict and need representation, a dispute lawyer can guide you through the litigation process - from filing or defending against a lawsuit to negotiating settlements or representing you at trial.

When Should I Hire a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a lawsuit or dispute lawyer when you're involved in a legal disagreement that cannot be resolved informally and may require legal action. Common reasons to hire a lawyer include:

  • Breach of contract: If someone has failed to fulfill the terms of a contract, a lawyer can help you file a lawsuit to seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Whether it's a partnership disagreement, shareholder conflict, or a dispute with a supplier or customer, a lawyer can help resolve business-related issues.
  • Property disputes: If you're involved in a dispute over property ownership, boundary issues, or landlord-tenant conflicts, a lawyer can assist in resolving the matter.
  • Personal injury claims: If you were injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a lawyer can represent you in a personal injury lawsuit.
  • Debt collection or defense: If you're being sued for unpaid debts or need to collect a debt owed to you, a lawyer can represent you in court or negotiate settlements.
  • Employment disputes: If you're involved in an employment-related dispute, such as wrongful termination or discrimination, a lawyer can help you file a claim and represent you in court.
  • Defending against a lawsuit: If you've been sued, a lawyer can defend you against the claims, challenge the evidence, and negotiate a settlement or represent you at trial.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process can help ensure that your case is properly managed and that your rights are protected throughout the dispute resolution process.

What Does a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Do?

A lawsuit or dispute lawyer provides a wide range of services to help clients navigate legal conflicts and seek resolution. Their tasks typically include:

  • Evaluating your case: Reviewing the facts and evidence to determine the strength of your case or defense and advising you on the best course of action.
  • Filing lawsuits or responding to lawsuits: If you're the plaintiff, the lawyer will file a lawsuit on your behalf. If you're the defendant, they will respond to the lawsuit and build a defense strategy.
  • Gathering evidence: Collecting and reviewing evidence such as contracts, emails, financial records, and witness statements to support your case.
  • Handling negotiations: Negotiating with the opposing party to reach a settlement before the case goes to trial, which can save time and money.
  • Representing you in court: Presenting your case in court if a settlement cannot be reached, including presenting evidence, questioning witnesses, and making legal arguments on your behalf.
  • Exploring alternative dispute resolution (ADR): Suggesting mediation or arbitration as alternatives to a trial, which can be faster and less expensive.
  • Drafting legal documents: Preparing and filing necessary legal documents such as complaints, motions, and responses, as well as drafting settlement agreements if a resolution is reached.

How Are Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyers Paid?

The fee structure for lawsuit or dispute lawyers varies depending on the complexity of the case, the type of dispute, and the lawyer's experience. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Many lawsuit lawyers charge by the hour, especially for cases that require extensive preparation, research, and trial work. Hourly rates typically range from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Contingency fee: In certain cases, such as personal injury or breach of contract claims, a lawyer may work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win the case, usually taking a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of the settlement or damages awarded.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as filing a simple lawsuit or representing you in mediation, some lawyers may charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: In complex cases or long-term litigation, a lawyer may ask for a retainer, which is an upfront payment to secure their services. The lawyer will then bill against the retainer as they work on the case.

Discuss the fee structure with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand how fees will be handled throughout the case.

How Much Does a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawsuit or dispute lawyer depends on the complexity of the case, the lawyer's experience, and the fee structure they use. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Lawyers may charge between $150 and $500 per hour, with higher rates for more experienced attorneys or cases requiring extensive trial preparation.
  • Contingency fees: If your lawyer works on a contingency basis, expect them to take 25% to 40% of any settlement or court award. For example, if you win $100,000 and the contingency fee is 33%, the lawyer would receive $33,000.
  • Flat fees: For less complex disputes or tasks, such as drafting a settlement agreement or representing you in mediation, flat fees may range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the scope of work.
  • Retainers: Some lawyers require an upfront retainer fee, which can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the case complexity and expected litigation length.

Make sure to ask for a detailed breakdown of fees during your consultation so you know what to expect.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer

Before hiring a lawsuit or dispute lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with cases like mine?
Ensure the lawyer has handled similar disputes and is familiar with the relevant area of law.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify whether they charge hourly, on a contingency fee basis, or offer flat fees, and ask for a detailed cost estimate.
  3. What is the likelihood of success in my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case and potential challenges.
  4. Have you handled cases that went to trial?
If a trial is possible, confirm the lawyer has courtroom experience.
  5. How long will the process take?
Get an estimate of the timeline for resolving your dispute.
  6. Will you handle my case personally?
Understand who will manage your case and their level of involvement.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check their bar status: Confirm with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and has no disciplinary actions.
  • Look for relevant experience: Review their website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in litigation or dispute resolution.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for feedback on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should provide references from past clients.
  • Check for professional affiliations: Membership in organizations like the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation can indicate expertise.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Contracts or agreements: Copies of any signed contracts or relevant agreements.
  • Emails and communications: Any written communication between you and the other party.
  • Evidence of the dispute: Receipts, financial records, photos, or witness statements related to the conflict.
  • Timeline of events: A clear chronology of the dispute, including key dates and interactions.
  • List of questions: Prepared questions about your case, the legal process, costs, and strategy.

Being well-prepared will help the lawyer assess your case effectively and provide you with the best legal advice on how to proceed.
