Beginning with what we thought would be a fairly straightforward dispute, Mr. Cowan represented us in a business lawsuit that turned out to be very complex and required immense involvement before we effectively won. When I was arrested for getting a DUI, I didn't know what to do. I had never been arrested before and felt terrified and angry and there was so much paperwork and red tape and procedure that I still think it is impossible for a civilian to navigate. Raza and her partner were able to help me with an outstanding warrant of 2 years of which I had no idea I had against me until I found out through a background check done on me. I called upon Raza of Margolin and Lawrence when things looked very grim for me coming up on trial for a felony DUI. I was referred by a close friend who had hired them. Dan spent 19 months aggressively and strategically working on my behalf. I was charged with felony hit and run and he utilized every angle to gain leverage to our advantage. His diligence in my case got the DA to finally offer up a plea deal I was happy with. In the end my felony hit and run charge was reduced to a misdemeanor with small fine, 90 (45) days’ work release, and 3 years of summary probation. As a result, I was not only able to keep my security clearance, but also keep my job with a leading military defense contractor. In addition I have a very good possibility of getting the misdemeanor charge expunged from my record entirely after only 1 year of probation.
Dan's confident and professional demeanor was very influential on me and it helped me to relax and maintain my poise as we appeared in court for multiple hearings. He was very honest and upfront with me throughout the entire process. When I didn't understand something, Dan was very willing to explain it to me in terms that I could understand. It was very clear, Dan not only knew what he was doing, but was extremely good at it too.

George Roland is by far, the absolute best lawyer that I have ever dealt with! I was referred to him by my ex and he highly recommended him to me after I had another attorney, that by the way was the worst lawyer I had to assist me. I am a litigator/trial lawyer with a law practice similar to James Vickman’s. I have come to know and admire him as a colleague up close. So when I needed to retain an attorney to represent me in my own lawsuit (as a plaintiff), I knew he was the right lawyer for me. We are now in the thick of litigation, and I have kept close tabs on the case. I can confidently say that I retained an advocate who is smart, conscientious, and very knowledgeable in the law. After I recently sat in on a deposition that he took of the defendant, I reported to my co-plaintiffs: "I attended almost the entire depo. Our lawyer did a masterful, thorough, hard-hitting job, getting great admissions. Could be the basis for a substantial punitive damages award. Three cheers for Jim!" Mr. Vickman is also highly ethical; it is clear he puts his clients' needs ahead of his own. Also notable is that he welcomes his clients’ input and collaboration, and is modest, never putting on airs. You won’t go wrong retaining Mr. Vickman.

Jim Vickman is a hero. In early 2014, a few years after my husband died, I found myself called upon to help my father-in-law alone and unable to care for himself. To me it was mess. I didn't know what to do until a five-minute phone conversation with an assisted living facility administrator led to the following exchange. "She: Do you have power of attorney? Me: No. She: Then you need to get that in place first. I suggest you call an attorney by the name of Jim Vickman." I never spoke with that administrator again. She was just the link to Jim who assured me he could help me. This all led to my becoming Dad's court-appointed conservator and allowed me to take care of him in the best possible way through the end of his life in 2015. Usman was stupendous, professional, courteous, honest, and cognizant from the start!
Given the many variables and complexity involved in forming a business entity, registering a trademark, registering a copyright, registering an EIN, determining whether a terms of usage and privacy policy agreement is required, and reviewing health disclaimers for an eBook, Usman was highly cooperative and responsive making me feel at ease.
He answered my comprehensive emails succinctly and thoroughly. He recommended a service called Markify for conducting additional trademark searches outside of USPTO's database.
He even went so far in responding very efficiently over the weekend, outside of business hours. That innate gesture is definitely praiseworthy and exceptional given time was not on my side nor was it for Usman. I needed answers quickly, even though I didn't explicitly mention these sentiments to him because that would be too impractical and idiotic. He understood my situation with all the nuances and did everything in my best interests to secure all the legal knots in a timely fashion without any hiccups.
When it came to billing, he was cognizant of keeping me abreast of the total hours he spent on specific tasks. Using LawTrades, he took the time out of his hectic schedule to list the estimated project fees including all fixed upfront costs for registering the business and his hourly review rate. His financial transparency gave me a pretty good cost picture of his services with no surprises!
Additionally, Usman telephonically walked me through the step-by-step instructions for obtaining an EIN for an LLC. That made the entire process seamless, saving me much valuable time.
All and all, I would highly recommend Usman if you're looking for an intellectual property lawyer, creating a legal entity for your business, reasonable legal fees, and state-of-the-art service.

I was dealing with a very difficult employment situation. I believe the header says it all. Aimee is a brilliant woman and applies that brilliance to her practice of the law. In 2003, not long after she passed both the NY and NJ, i hired Aimee as an associate at my NY law firm. With only minimal direction, Aimee wrote work product that was succinct and thorough. Do only did she identify all of the legal issues, her divergent mind spotted issues missed by far more experienced practicioners. Had family issues not forced her return to California, I have no doubt that she would have evolved into a devastating litigator. Of course, 12 years have passed since her return to California, where she served as an executive in several growing companies.
