I was being represented in court by Donna Mayor she had done nothing for me in court. She was rude and not willing to listen to a word on my case. She didn't even look at my paperwork or evidence in my favor. It wasn't that I didn't want to pay I just didn't agree with all the fees and being charged 3x my rent amount. I had recieved rental assistance for which my landlord only applied 2 months. He applied the rest to unreasonable charges which was thousands of dollars. I even wanted to represent myself but she discouraged me with her actions and bullying. A man named Chris who works there was trying to find information in regards to my funds from the city and what they were for. she started throwing paper at him and belittling him. Now I have no one to help me. Donna just wanted me to settle so she can go on about her day doing nothing or just as okay with me being evicted. She seemed more representing of my landlord then me. When i explained the behavior to her supervisor it was said she was a good attorney. Talking about accountability. Please if your are desperate don't go to this agency they will make sure your family becomes homeless and humilate you while in the process too. I cannot believe the government funds this agency to ruin lives and collect money.

Great at what he does. Was very helpful, walked me through every step of the process, and even though my case was 4 years ago, still sends Christmas cards. He's a pretty decent guy all around. 10/10 would recommend.

MR. GAMILL was hired to represent an elder in a case against a family member for financial exploitation. He was paid a retainer fee of $1,500. He stated he felt the case was very strong in the elder's favor. He was told this needed to be started right away because of the age and health of his client. After not hearing from Mr. Gambill for a month, his office was contacted and a request for a return call was left. When no call was received by the end of another month, the office was contacted again and told we would be picking up the papers that he asked to copy for the elder's case. Then a letter informing Mr. Gambill that we no longer felt he had time for the case and requesting the return of the retainer was prepared. When I got online to get the office address, his website said "OFFICE CLOSED". MR. GAMBILL HAS MOVED TO COLUMBUS, OHIO. The elder was never informed of this move. This time had been wasted. When the papers were picked up from the office ( the day after finding out he had moved) there was a for sale sign on the building!!!!!! The papers Mr. Gambill had asked to keep was the evidence of the financial abuse! We did not have copies! Thank goodness for the lady still working at the office. She was most helpful, and had the papers ready for me when I arrived. The office is 1h and 20 min. from our home. When I opened one of the file folders when I arrived at the house there was a check for the full amount of the retainer, the check was dated a month and a half earlier!, Mr. GAMBILL never notified the elder, no phone call, no letter.

Attorney Gambill followed up with us within 72 hours of our request for an estate probate inquiry. He set up an in person meeting, listening to our concerns and worked hard to get us moving in the right direction. He is a hard charger when it comes to fighting for his client's best interest and handling all aspects of estate probate.

Mr. Kunkel represented my brother on a traffic case. He failed to show up to court not notify my brother that he had to be in court. The judge issued a bench warrant on my brother and we did not find out till a month later. When we did we called him and his paralegal numerous times leaving many voicemails none to which to this date he has replied. We had to hire a different attorney to sort the whole mess out.

Almost 11 months of constant lies from Chris Finn, and still no settlement, him and Zina have very lackluster communication skills, zero contact that I don't initiate, the buck is passed to anyone but them selves. Yet when I contact whome they are dealing with myself I'm told they haven't heard from my attorney in weeks /months. I will believe an insurance company over a lawyer any day .what lawyer doesn't have an answering service? 90% of my calls are answered with ringing till the line hangs up, and a response is always met with it's such and such I'm waiting for.."I called 3 times today and they haven't responded to me" , his exact words . I'm about to be homeless because these so-called amazing attorneys can't do the job they are being paid for. Go elsewhere , over priced firm full of lazy incompetent liars.

They hire a contracted company to do their low end filing work. The managment for this contracted company is horrible. They play favorites with certain employees. Relay confidential information to those certain employees that should be kept to management only. Those employees that are shown favortisim will during working hours disturb other employees while they are working by talking about video games and music for 30minutes with each other causing stress and loss of concentration to those other employees. The managment will have those employees move around equipment from desks that is only supposed to be handled by MDK's IT department. The management will also take things from people's desk that they don't like and throw it away causing stress to those employees. Management only cares about the work getting done correctly and could care less about anything that makes certain employees uncomfortable. Alot of these 5 star reviews are from employees that work there. My statement still stands.

I don’t know why the other reviews are saying what they are. It sounds like the people who she did not favor in a case are upset about her decisions. There are multiple reasons as to why a parent may not be the primary custodian and she investigated these reasons thoroughly.

This woman had a bias against me from day 1 based on a lie that my ex told her. My ex is not stupid and clearly looked Rosemarie up on Facebook to realize what is important to her. She then formulated a lie so that Rosemarie would be against me from day 1. She never looked back. She continuously treated me like the bad guy throughout the year we were forced to work with her as our ad litem. I never stood a chance at maintaining the 50/50 time I had for 7 years prior. She ignored proof of emotional, mental, and physical abuse that my ex had subjected my daughter to all because of a personal bias against me. Rosemarie was out to get me just as much as my ex. If you are given a list of ad litems to choose from, AVOID THIS WOMAN AT ALL COSTS!

Siewert was hired to handle my case in 2013. From the very beginning he was unresponsive. I had several concerns but I tried very hard to work with him and have faith in his abilities. If you are currently in this situation with him, please learn from me. It almost cost me my freedom. In the end (2015), I fired Siewert due to his inability to execute and create a cohesive, well thought-out defense. I was absolutely terrified to see how he would perform in trial considering all of his poorly written motions he created and his inability to effectively negotiate with the prosecutor during Pre-trial Hearings. If you have a serious legal matter, this is NOT the attorney for you.

I have retained mike a total of 4 different occasions and everytime i would say he got me near to the best possible outcomes in each case. He conducts himself great in court ,highly respected inside the court rooms and known to get the desired results BUT.... I do have to say this , he will not return calls he will not tell you what he "thinks" will happen(so no reassurance of a good outcome) talk to his assistant more than you ever talk to him. So you never know what to expect or when to be prepared and/or to prepare your wife, family and friends.... But if you ask me he did right by me and he did right everytime i had court i just wanted to give a honest and detailed review for the next man/woman

These clowns, particularly Zach Klein city attorney, are actually trying to go after the whistle blower in the whole city hacking fiasco and trying to blaming him for their obvious negligence. Its not his fault you got hacked and now all your sensitive info is on the internet for all to see. Sounds like a case of petty revenge for embarrassing them by exposing the true extent of the data breach. Which they were obviously hoping to sweep under the rug or else the mayor wouldn't have came up with the whole lame data is corrupted or encrypted so its useless lie. 🤦‍♂️

The prosecutor went to a different area, and from the contacts provided that were handling the case, a request for status and restraining order was never acknowledge. As victim on case 22-ju-06267 and 22-ju-06254, I can attest that the Constitutional rights for Victims of Crime, was never followed.

What a Litigation Lawyer Can Do for You

A litigation lawyer specializes in representing individuals, businesses, or organizations involved in legal disputes. Whether you're the one filing a lawsuit or you're being sued, a litigation attorney will advocate on your behalf throughout the entire legal process. Their goal is to resolve disputes, either through negotiation, settlement, or trial. Litigation lawyers can help with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, real estate issues, employment disputes, personal injury claims, and more.

Litigation lawyers provide strategic legal advice and manage all aspects of your case, from filing motions to representing you in court, ensuring that your rights are protected and that you have the best chance of achieving a favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Litigation Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a litigation lawyer if you're involved in a legal dispute that you cannot resolve on your own. Common situations include:

  • Breach of contract disputes: If a party to a contract fails to fulfill their obligations, a litigation lawyer can help you seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Litigation lawyers can represent you in cases of partnership disagreements, intellectual property disputes, or business fraud.
  • Employment disputes: If you're facing issues like wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, or wage disputes, a litigation lawyer can help resolve these matters through negotiation or court action.
  • Personal injury claims: If you've been injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a litigation attorney can help you pursue your case.
  • Real estate or property disputes: When there are conflicts over property ownership, boundary issues, or lease agreements, a litigation lawyer can assist in resolving the dispute.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is beneficial, especially if a lawsuit seems imminent or you have already been served with legal documents.

What Does a Litigation Lawyer Do?

A litigation lawyer handles all aspects of your case, from the initial investigation to the trial and even the appeals process, if necessary. Their role includes:

  • Case assessment and investigation: Analyzing the facts of your case and advising whether it’s worth pursuing or defending.
  • Pleadings and motions: Drafting and filing documents to initiate or respond to a lawsuit, including complaints, motions to dismiss, and answers.
  • Discovery: Gathering evidence, including depositions, interrogatories, and document requests, to build your case.
  • Negotiations and settlement discussions: Attempting to resolve disputes through mediation, arbitration, or settlement talks before going to trial.
  • Trial representation: Presenting your case in court, examining witnesses, introducing evidence, and making legal arguments before a judge or jury.
  • Appeals: If necessary, filing appeals to challenge or defend the outcome of the trial.

Litigation lawyers are also skilled negotiators and often work to resolve disputes outside of court to save time, money, and stress for their clients.

How Are Litigation Lawyers Paid?

Litigation lawyers typically use a variety of fee structures depending on the type of case, the complexity of the legal matter, and the financial circumstances of the client. Common payment arrangements include:

  • Hourly rates: Many litigation attorneys charge by the hour, with rates varying based on experience and geographic location.
  • Flat fees: For specific, predictable legal tasks (such as filing a motion), lawyers may offer a flat fee.
  • Contingency fees: In personal injury or other cases where you seek damages, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, taking a percentage of the settlement or award if you win.
  • Retainer: Some clients pay a retainer fee upfront to secure ongoing legal services. The lawyer then bills against this retainer as work is done.

The exact structure should be discussed in the initial consultation to ensure you understand how and when you'll be charged.

How Much Does a Litigation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of a litigation lawyer varies significantly depending on the nature of the dispute and the lawyer’s experience. Factors affecting the cost include:

  • The complexity of the case: More complex litigation involving extensive discovery, expert witnesses, or multi-party suits typically costs more.
  • Time spent: Litigation cases can be time-consuming, especially if they go to trial. The longer the case, the higher the legal fees.
  • Type of fee arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $200 to over $1,000 per hour, depending on the lawyer’s reputation and location. Contingency fees generally range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award.
  • Stage of litigation: Cases that settle early in the process are often less expensive than those that proceed to trial or appeal.

It’s crucial to ask about cost estimates during your initial consultation to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Litigation Lawyer

Before hiring a litigation lawyer, it's essential to ask key questions to ensure you're choosing the right representation:

  1. What is your experience with cases like mine?
Ensure that the lawyer has experience handling your specific type of dispute, whether it's a contract issue, personal injury, or business matter.
  2. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case's strengths, weaknesses, and the likelihood of success.
  3. What is your fee structure?
Clarify how you'll be charged, whether by the hour, a flat fee, or on a contingency basis.
  4. How long do you expect my case to take?
While it's hard to predict, an experienced lawyer can give you a rough estimate based on similar cases.
  5. How often do you settle cases versus going to trial?
Some lawyers are more inclined to settle, while others may be more experienced in the courtroom. It’s important to understand their strategy.
  6. What is your approach to resolving disputes?
Some lawyers prefer aggressive litigation, while others focus on settlement or mediation. Choose one whose approach aligns with your goals.

How to Check the Credibility of a Litigation Lawyer

To verify a litigation lawyer’s credibility, consider the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Ensure the lawyer is in good standing with the state bar and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online reviews can provide insight into the lawyer’s professionalism and track record.
  • Look for litigation experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they have handled cases like yours and have a record of success.
  • Request references: Ask the lawyer to provide references from past clients who can speak to their effectiveness and approach.
  • Research their trial experience: If your case is likely to go to trial, ensure the lawyer has a history of courtroom success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make your first consultation with a litigation lawyer productive, you should prepare the following:

  • A clear outline of the dispute: Provide a timeline and key details about the legal issue you're facing.
  • Any relevant documents: Bring contracts, emails, letters, or any other documentation that pertains to the case.
  • A list of key players: Provide the names of individuals or companies involved in the dispute.
  • Questions about fees and the litigation process: Make sure you understand how the lawyer plans to approach your case and how you will be charged.
  • Your goals and expectations: Be clear about what outcome you're hoping for, whether it's a settlement, compensation, or another resolution.

By coming prepared, you can ensure that your initial meeting with the lawyer is both efficient and insightful, giving you a better sense of how to proceed with your case.
