Jordan Morris is an extremely professional Attorney who keeps the best interest of her client(s) at the forefront of her focus. Her dedication is second to none. I dealt with another firm and it was difficult to get progress with my case. The Attorney was not as responsive nor determined to ensure a fair outcome was sought after. Once Jordan became my Attorney my mind was at ease. Through various phone calls, emails and personal encounters she was easily approachable and extremely patient. Her direct and passionate approach sets her apart from other Attorneys and firms. I would rehire her if needed without pause. My daughter was fought for; I was fought for. My Toddlers’ voice was heard through Jordan’s voice in court and I am eternally grateful for the outcome of all of her effort and dedication to my case. A MUST hire.

Lee represented me for a family case that spanned multiple years and he remained professional and understanding the entire time. Not being dramatic, he knows his case law and even broke out a law book to show word for word what it says when doubted during a hearing. I even had someone in court ask me for his contact information when they saw how professional and intelligent he handled himself. Lee is honest and will tell you the best advice, even when you might not want to hear it and when you let him know you are uncomfortable with something, he honors your wishes as well. Lee always follows up and if he is unavailable his paralegal does right away. When all was said and done, I feel I received great representation.

Whenever I am in need of legal counsel, I always turn to the Law Firm of Beaver|Courie. I have hired attorney David T. Courie on 3 separate occasions. The fees are fair and reasonable. I am always impressed by this lawyer's expertise. My legal problems have always been solved quickly and efficiently. He will even go to court to negotiate on your behalf so you don't have to appear. The paralegal staff is also prompt and courteous in their responses, keeping you informed as your case progresses. Each time my case was handled with professionalism and achieved an outstanding outcome. I could not have hoped for better. I highly recommend Attorney David T. Courie.

She was very thorough, took the time to look at alternative ways to write the language in our plan, and worked directly with various organizations we wanted to include in our plan. Her time and attention to detail were much appreciated. She is an attorney that really cares about her clients and wants to do well for them. Cristina was miraculously able to get us even less visitation than we started with. While I do believe the Fayetteville "justice system" is built for and by men, and this is not Cristina's fault, we were at a severe disadvantage in court facing the "old boys' clubs" backward nature of this small town. Run away from this legal team. Their goal is to drain you of joy, money, and the will to live. All of Cristina's "advice" left us worse off, and it's important to remember that SHE does not suffer the repercussions of her poor advice, YOU do. Be vigilant and choose a lawyer with a winning history.

To the law office of Jocelyn Stewart. After a 26 year long stellar career as. Green Beret, I was facing 7 felony charges from my ex wife. These charges were all false allegations provided by my ex wife to my chain of command. The Army never once had my back. The Army labeled me a criminal from the first time my ex wife made these allegations. I went through a 3-1/2 year long process that was harder than any military deployment. From the first time we talked to Rob, there was just something about him that was different. He wanted us to do our homework and read his bio before we made a decision to hire him. My outlook on the Military Justice system was very low. I do not trust lawyers or the Military anymore. Rob had my back from day one. His passion, dedication are unmatched. The way he handled my court martial trial was second to none. His heart was in it from the start. He gave me his all. Although I knew in my heart I was innocent of these false allegations I still faced 7 felony charges from the Government. I was scared, I was worried and faced 40 years in prison if I was found guilty. After a week long trial and Rob’s heart felt and passionate closing arguments. I heard the words Not Guilty. My family and I can not thank him enough. I can finally retire with an honorable discharge and all my benefits. Thank you Rob!!! De Oppresso Liber!!!

Atty. Anstead helped me during an exceptionally difficult time. His willingness to hear my situation, review the material diligently and thoroughly, ask questions that mattered and gave him the full understanding of what he was defending against, really gave me the confidence that I was being taken care of. His initial consultation was fair and his retainer was extremely reasonable. Additionally, he recommended me to a PI team that thoroughly chased facts and ultimately led to my case being dismissed and the truth saving the day. I really can’t say how positive of an experience I had and how strongly I recommend Atty. Anstead, Ms. Adkins, and the their Investigative Team’s counsel and support when you’re facing daunting allegations. If you’re reading this—best of luck on your case, but if criminal charges are what you’re facing than look no further and retain Atty. Anstead now.

When we needed an attorney for emergency custody, we called a few attorneys and in the end we decided on Attorney Ferguson. We knew after our first meeting with her that she was very experienced and passionate about her work. Our case started Dec. 2018 and did not end until March 2023 due to the pandemic and other obstacles related to the defendants. There were periods of months between court cases and initially I thought to myself that Attorney Ferguson surely would forget the details of our case and not be well prepared but that was never the case. The first time I heard her argue our case, I was amazed at how well spoken she was and how powerful her delivery was to the judge. She is known to be very blunt and will not back down and that is only one reason she is so successful. Needless to say, we won our case and I feel like Attorney Ferguson was just as happy as we were to finally have closure and our son. You will not regret having her take on your case. Trust in her and she will lead the way.

I had a terrible experience with this lawyer and primarily because of his communication. I met with Mr. Pennink to have him help me draft a lease and review paperwork for a sale. I expressly communicated with him my concerns on keeping costs low and repeated specifically my expectations on what I wanted done. I had to contact him several times through email and phone calls to get responses from him and on the day I needed the lease sat in his office for almost two hours while he put it together in front of me (I had contacted him three weeks prior to this to have the lease created). He repeatedly forgot details I told him about several times, details I emailed him so he had a written record of them, that had to be included in the contracts. When the "final" contract for sale was ready, I read and reviewed it and found three essential pieces of information I specifically asked for missing, including information about the pay off of a $20,000 financial agreement. I felt Mr. Pennink was disorganized, unfocused, lacked time management skills, and above all else, did not listen to me. I needed a lawyer that could openly discuss my situation and listen to my concerns so I felt I could trust him with my situation. Instead I got more done with the lawyer handling the case for the Purchaser of my agreement, who took the time to make the corrections my lawyer neglected to include and considering Mr. Pennink emailed us the "final" document five minutes past the start time of our meeting to sign, I was embarrassed and thankful the Purchaser's lawyer was so accommodating. Of course Mr. Pennink still charged me his full rates even with all his mistakes and constant delays. I will never use or recommend this lawyer again.

Horrible attorney! If you have her I would go get my money now! She is closing her office early August and is screwing everyone out of their money!!! I gave her full payment for child custody and child support, she then called me 2 weeks after I paid her off and said she was closing her office. She avoided my called for several days and my emails to refund me back my money. Keep in mind she has never been to court for me not one time only filed motion! Literally don’t nothing for me and decided she gets to keep $1500 of my money I paid her for doing absolutely NOTHING FOR ME! What a Litigation Lawyer Can Do for You

A litigation lawyer specializes in representing individuals, businesses, or organizations involved in legal disputes. Whether you're the one filing a lawsuit or you're being sued, a litigation attorney will advocate on your behalf throughout the entire legal process. Their goal is to resolve disputes, either through negotiation, settlement, or trial. Litigation lawyers can help with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, real estate issues, employment disputes, personal injury claims, and more.

Litigation lawyers provide strategic legal advice and manage all aspects of your case, from filing motions to representing you in court, ensuring that your rights are protected and that you have the best chance of achieving a favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Litigation Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a litigation lawyer if you're involved in a legal dispute that you cannot resolve on your own. Common situations include:

  • Breach of contract disputes: If a party to a contract fails to fulfill their obligations, a litigation lawyer can help you seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Litigation lawyers can represent you in cases of partnership disagreements, intellectual property disputes, or business fraud.
  • Employment disputes: If you're facing issues like wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, or wage disputes, a litigation lawyer can help resolve these matters through negotiation or court action.
  • Personal injury claims: If you've been injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a litigation attorney can help you pursue your case.
  • Real estate or property disputes: When there are conflicts over property ownership, boundary issues, or lease agreements, a litigation lawyer can assist in resolving the dispute.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is beneficial, especially if a lawsuit seems imminent or you have already been served with legal documents.

What Does a Litigation Lawyer Do?

A litigation lawyer handles all aspects of your case, from the initial investigation to the trial and even the appeals process, if necessary. Their role includes:

  • Case assessment and investigation: Analyzing the facts of your case and advising whether it’s worth pursuing or defending.
  • Pleadings and motions: Drafting and filing documents to initiate or respond to a lawsuit, including complaints, motions to dismiss, and answers.
  • Discovery: Gathering evidence, including depositions, interrogatories, and document requests, to build your case.
  • Negotiations and settlement discussions: Attempting to resolve disputes through mediation, arbitration, or settlement talks before going to trial.
  • Trial representation: Presenting your case in court, examining witnesses, introducing evidence, and making legal arguments before a judge or jury.
  • Appeals: If necessary, filing appeals to challenge or defend the outcome of the trial.

Litigation lawyers are also skilled negotiators and often work to resolve disputes outside of court to save time, money, and stress for their clients.

How Are Litigation Lawyers Paid?

Litigation lawyers typically use a variety of fee structures depending on the type of case, the complexity of the legal matter, and the financial circumstances of the client. Common payment arrangements include:

  • Hourly rates: Many litigation attorneys charge by the hour, with rates varying based on experience and geographic location.
  • Flat fees: For specific, predictable legal tasks (such as filing a motion), lawyers may offer a flat fee.
  • Contingency fees: In personal injury or other cases where you seek damages, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, taking a percentage of the settlement or award if you win.
  • Retainer: Some clients pay a retainer fee upfront to secure ongoing legal services. The lawyer then bills against this retainer as work is done.

The exact structure should be discussed in the initial consultation to ensure you understand how and when you'll be charged.

How Much Does a Litigation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of a litigation lawyer varies significantly depending on the nature of the dispute and the lawyer’s experience. Factors affecting the cost include:

  • The complexity of the case: More complex litigation involving extensive discovery, expert witnesses, or multi-party suits typically costs more.
  • Time spent: Litigation cases can be time-consuming, especially if they go to trial. The longer the case, the higher the legal fees.
  • Type of fee arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $200 to over $1,000 per hour, depending on the lawyer’s reputation and location. Contingency fees generally range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award.
  • Stage of litigation: Cases that settle early in the process are often less expensive than those that proceed to trial or appeal.

It’s crucial to ask about cost estimates during your initial consultation to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Litigation Lawyer

Before hiring a litigation lawyer, it's essential to ask key questions to ensure you're choosing the right representation:

  1. What is your experience with cases like mine?
Ensure that the lawyer has experience handling your specific type of dispute, whether it's a contract issue, personal injury, or business matter.
  2. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case's strengths, weaknesses, and the likelihood of success.
  3. What is your fee structure?
Clarify how you'll be charged, whether by the hour, a flat fee, or on a contingency basis.
  4. How long do you expect my case to take?
While it's hard to predict, an experienced lawyer can give you a rough estimate based on similar cases.
  5. How often do you settle cases versus going to trial?
Some lawyers are more inclined to settle, while others may be more experienced in the courtroom. It’s important to understand their strategy.
  6. What is your approach to resolving disputes?
Some lawyers prefer aggressive litigation, while others focus on settlement or mediation. Choose one whose approach aligns with your goals.

How to Check the Credibility of a Litigation Lawyer

To verify a litigation lawyer’s credibility, consider the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Ensure the lawyer is in good standing with the state bar and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online reviews can provide insight into the lawyer’s professionalism and track record.
  • Look for litigation experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they have handled cases like yours and have a record of success.
  • Request references: Ask the lawyer to provide references from past clients who can speak to their effectiveness and approach.
  • Research their trial experience: If your case is likely to go to trial, ensure the lawyer has a history of courtroom success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make your first consultation with a litigation lawyer productive, you should prepare the following:

  • A clear outline of the dispute: Provide a timeline and key details about the legal issue you're facing.
  • Any relevant documents: Bring contracts, emails, letters, or any other documentation that pertains to the case.
  • A list of key players: Provide the names of individuals or companies involved in the dispute.
  • Questions about fees and the litigation process: Make sure you understand how the lawyer plans to approach your case and how you will be charged.
  • Your goals and expectations: Be clear about what outcome you're hoping for, whether it's a settlement, compensation, or another resolution.

By coming prepared, you can ensure that your initial meeting with the lawyer is both efficient and insightful, giving you a better sense of how to proceed with your case.
