Ms. English is unskilled, unprofessional, and incompetent - her win/loss legal record speaks for itself as does the fact that no big law firm wants to hire her so she's in a dingy downtown low cost office location. I wish I had known how inept Ms. English was prior to hiring her on a contingency basis. I figured that since I wasn't paying any money for her services and since she talked a a good talk, it was a good deal. Unfortunately, Ms. English is all talk and minimal legal skills/knowledge. Over several months of managing my case, Ms. English apparently made several rookie mistakes. I only found out about her errors a long time later when subsequent lawyers reviewed the specifics of my case and asked me why my previous lawyer (ms. english) had let valuable deadlines lapse, had not informed me of the consequences of certain actions taken by opposing counsel, etc. Do yourself a favor and find a better lawyer than Ms. English - even a first year law student would be a better lawyer than she is.

Receptionist was rude and unproffesional. Never talked to an attorney. If this is how it starts off then I sure don't want to go any further down that road.

DO NOT TRUST THE SECURITY OF THIS PLACE! I booked a consultation with Claire and uploaded all of my personal documents on a link they requested from me, and was later told they couldn't find my documents (which had BANKING INFO and tons of other private info), and that reason for this was because someone there quit and took the passwords with them when they left. Additionally, she refused to give me an exact cost for her services- it felt like a terrible sales pitch- and her asking between $3,600 to $6,000 for a simple trust when I own no property at all seems absolutely outrageous for an associate. 100% NOT recommended- Major disappointment! Unprofessional- I will be reporting to the BAR association.

Based on my experience with amanda hebesha it is my opinion she is UNHOLY and has NO regard for human rights, justice and law. Based on her CHOSEN CONDUCT it is my opinion she is a disservice to our justice system and is NOT equipped to practice law. Based on her chosen conduct it is also my opinion she is a danger and destructive to families. Her chosen conduct supports she runs her own agenda at the expense of her clients for her financial gain. Praying for her CORRUPT (demonic) soul.

I first met Mr. Miller when he was opposing counsel on a case. He was confident, aggressive and creative in how he crafted his client's case. I have full confidence in his talents, seen his team pull together for trial and would recommend him to a potential client.

If you are looking for an attorney that will NOT represent you to your best interest, who will NOT return phone calls, and has rude staff, call Mr Miller's office. This was a horrible experience for myself, and Nathan Miller and his office staff made it worse and not better. He had my case for 4 months, never had a sit down with me, never explained to me what was Going on or what to expect. I would call and leave a message, and if I was lucky I would get a call-return days later. I requested a sit down, several times, it never happened in the 4 months he was "representing" me. I can't emphasize the lack of communication, I'm not sure who runs his office or how this office continues to operate. My feelings and thoughts are that if your case is not up to his standards he will ignore it, without the courtesy of letting his "client" know he has no interest in representing him/her. I've always thought that young attorneys are anxious to take new cases and challenges to try and make a name for themselves, but he has proven me wrong-- I guess not ALL attorneys will treat their clients with the same respect. After 4 months I am having my file forwarded to a different attorney. And-- I received a generic letter stating he no longer wanted to represent me-- Wrong! I do not want to be represented by Miller. Next time, take the time to personalize your letters and get the facts straight.

I hired Kimberly Mayhew to handle my trust that was unethically changed by my stepmother. She made it seem like we had a good case at first but after charging us an obscene amount of money for going over less than 50 pages of docs, she told us we didn’t have a solid case. She then had the audacity to charge us for our free consultation. When I asked her to explain why, she never responded. Definitely wouldn’t recommend hiring this bottom feeder.

On February 4, 2019 I pretty much lost my life. Definitely anything of value that I had earned up to that point was either gone or on the verge of being gone due to a stabbing at my business. I used reviews to find a good attorney and it seemed Jeff Reich was the one. After I retained him strangely that very night or the next I ran into him and I guess a couple of his friends at a local restaurant and he met my wife and our five kids, even my mother and I thought at that point wow I’ve got the best guy because he sees I’m just a regular guy with 5 small kids. I could not have been more mistaken if I had tried! And as I sit here having just looked up his reviews again I cannot say how stupid I feel for missing some of the bad reviews that were already out there. I think I need an attorney so bad and I was stressed out I missed those very obvious already existing bad reviews. One reviewer mentioned he took the food out of her children’s mouthes, and that must be a true review because similarly Jeff told me today “what do you think I’m going to feed your five kids?” No Jeff. I just hoped you were a decent man. Without getting too much into how nasty the last two years has been including he and his staff lying to me. Multiple different lies but the one that hurt the most was a lie that he could get me a loan to help out with my business that turned out to be completely false. I also got a terrible taste of how shady people can be when he had me sit on a long phone call three-way with Stanford university where his assistant was trying to get me in but she was lying through her teeth to do it and win the Stanford person would ask me questions I told the truth and so we couldn’t get in. Did you guys really expect me to lie? Evidently you did. So my review would match several of the other reviews out there but unfortunately mind I feel took a real dark turn recently. All of a sudden out of the clear blue sky Jeff fires me. Gives me a couple different reasons that don’t make sense as to why he’s firing me. And then I find out I’m getting kicked out of my business because since he fired me and the other side of the lawsuit we are involved with now sees that I have no attorney they are attacking me. He has spoken highly of one of the attorneys on the other side‘s team and referred to him as hey friend. One really have to wonder just how good of a friend when I get kicked out without enough time to do anything about it. So what part of my life didn’t get wrecked on February 4, 2019 my attorney that I trusted with my life just decided to wreck the rest of my life. And when I tried to nicely speak to him today and show him the new paperwork I received he only made ugly comments such as I don’t do pro bono and what do you think I’m going to feed your five kids? So yes people I sincerely hope you do better than I did when looking at the reviews out there on attorneys. I cannot tell you how ignorant I feel sitting here seeing reviews that are saying basically what I said but those reviews were written five years ago! It seems the five star reviews with no comments are probably just friends of the staff or Jeff himself. Because the reviews with statements are all negative. And although I can’t comment on other peoples experiences I can say that the events that began my downfall were bad enough but it was what my own attorney has done or didn’t do that has really destroyed me. Furthermore I would be careful of hiring the other people in his office because they all review each other’s cases and so clearly those two other attorneys had an influence on what Jeff has done to me. Otherwise I don’t know why Jeff regularly said he had to consult with the other two attorneys. So please folks really take time when you study the reviews and don’t do like I did and hire an attorney to fast because you’re scared or stressed out like I was. Because I really wouldn’t wish my worst enemy to have happen to them what has happened with me w/ Jeff Reich.

Hired her to assist with resolving a title issue and met with her on 2 occasions. Both meetings were confusing and unnecessarily complicated. Kept suggesting Probate and overlooked the best solution for our problem. Did nothing for us and charged an exorbitant fee with no result. Every quick e mail cost us $69.00. After 3 weeks and no satisfaction we were charged over $1600! Very disappointed and now have to start over in what should have been a simple process.

What a Litigation Lawyer Can Do for You

A litigation lawyer specializes in representing individuals, businesses, or organizations involved in legal disputes. Whether you're the one filing a lawsuit or you're being sued, a litigation attorney will advocate on your behalf throughout the entire legal process. Their goal is to resolve disputes, either through negotiation, settlement, or trial. Litigation lawyers can help with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, real estate issues, employment disputes, personal injury claims, and more.

Litigation lawyers provide strategic legal advice and manage all aspects of your case, from filing motions to representing you in court, ensuring that your rights are protected and that you have the best chance of achieving a favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Litigation Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a litigation lawyer if you're involved in a legal dispute that you cannot resolve on your own. Common situations include:

  • Breach of contract disputes: If a party to a contract fails to fulfill their obligations, a litigation lawyer can help you seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Litigation lawyers can represent you in cases of partnership disagreements, intellectual property disputes, or business fraud.
  • Employment disputes: If you're facing issues like wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, or wage disputes, a litigation lawyer can help resolve these matters through negotiation or court action.
  • Personal injury claims: If you've been injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a litigation attorney can help you pursue your case.
  • Real estate or property disputes: When there are conflicts over property ownership, boundary issues, or lease agreements, a litigation lawyer can assist in resolving the dispute.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is beneficial, especially if a lawsuit seems imminent or you have already been served with legal documents.

What Does a Litigation Lawyer Do?

A litigation lawyer handles all aspects of your case, from the initial investigation to the trial and even the appeals process, if necessary. Their role includes:

  • Case assessment and investigation: Analyzing the facts of your case and advising whether it’s worth pursuing or defending.
  • Pleadings and motions: Drafting and filing documents to initiate or respond to a lawsuit, including complaints, motions to dismiss, and answers.
  • Discovery: Gathering evidence, including depositions, interrogatories, and document requests, to build your case.
  • Negotiations and settlement discussions: Attempting to resolve disputes through mediation, arbitration, or settlement talks before going to trial.
  • Trial representation: Presenting your case in court, examining witnesses, introducing evidence, and making legal arguments before a judge or jury.
  • Appeals: If necessary, filing appeals to challenge or defend the outcome of the trial.

Litigation lawyers are also skilled negotiators and often work to resolve disputes outside of court to save time, money, and stress for their clients.

How Are Litigation Lawyers Paid?

Litigation lawyers typically use a variety of fee structures depending on the type of case, the complexity of the legal matter, and the financial circumstances of the client. Common payment arrangements include:

  • Hourly rates: Many litigation attorneys charge by the hour, with rates varying based on experience and geographic location.
  • Flat fees: For specific, predictable legal tasks (such as filing a motion), lawyers may offer a flat fee.
  • Contingency fees: In personal injury or other cases where you seek damages, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, taking a percentage of the settlement or award if you win.
  • Retainer: Some clients pay a retainer fee upfront to secure ongoing legal services. The lawyer then bills against this retainer as work is done.

The exact structure should be discussed in the initial consultation to ensure you understand how and when you'll be charged.

How Much Does a Litigation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of a litigation lawyer varies significantly depending on the nature of the dispute and the lawyer’s experience. Factors affecting the cost include:

  • The complexity of the case: More complex litigation involving extensive discovery, expert witnesses, or multi-party suits typically costs more.
  • Time spent: Litigation cases can be time-consuming, especially if they go to trial. The longer the case, the higher the legal fees.
  • Type of fee arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $200 to over $1,000 per hour, depending on the lawyer’s reputation and location. Contingency fees generally range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award.
  • Stage of litigation: Cases that settle early in the process are often less expensive than those that proceed to trial or appeal.

It’s crucial to ask about cost estimates during your initial consultation to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Litigation Lawyer

Before hiring a litigation lawyer, it's essential to ask key questions to ensure you're choosing the right representation:

  1. What is your experience with cases like mine?
Ensure that the lawyer has experience handling your specific type of dispute, whether it's a contract issue, personal injury, or business matter.
  2. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case's strengths, weaknesses, and the likelihood of success.
  3. What is your fee structure?
Clarify how you'll be charged, whether by the hour, a flat fee, or on a contingency basis.
  4. How long do you expect my case to take?
While it's hard to predict, an experienced lawyer can give you a rough estimate based on similar cases.
  5. How often do you settle cases versus going to trial?
Some lawyers are more inclined to settle, while others may be more experienced in the courtroom. It’s important to understand their strategy.
  6. What is your approach to resolving disputes?
Some lawyers prefer aggressive litigation, while others focus on settlement or mediation. Choose one whose approach aligns with your goals.

How to Check the Credibility of a Litigation Lawyer

To verify a litigation lawyer’s credibility, consider the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Ensure the lawyer is in good standing with the state bar and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online reviews can provide insight into the lawyer’s professionalism and track record.
  • Look for litigation experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they have handled cases like yours and have a record of success.
  • Request references: Ask the lawyer to provide references from past clients who can speak to their effectiveness and approach.
  • Research their trial experience: If your case is likely to go to trial, ensure the lawyer has a history of courtroom success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make your first consultation with a litigation lawyer productive, you should prepare the following:

  • A clear outline of the dispute: Provide a timeline and key details about the legal issue you're facing.
  • Any relevant documents: Bring contracts, emails, letters, or any other documentation that pertains to the case.
  • A list of key players: Provide the names of individuals or companies involved in the dispute.
  • Questions about fees and the litigation process: Make sure you understand how the lawyer plans to approach your case and how you will be charged.
  • Your goals and expectations: Be clear about what outcome you're hoping for, whether it's a settlement, compensation, or another resolution.

By coming prepared, you can ensure that your initial meeting with the lawyer is both efficient and insightful, giving you a better sense of how to proceed with your case.
