I hired Mark for defense against a claim brought by my out of state BD based on an indemnity clause in my RR Agreement for loss resulting form FINRA arbitration panel award to former client who lost money in a private placement, alleging misrepresentation among other claims. Mark drafted an excellent Answer asserting firm legal and equitable defenses, challenging the efficacy and applicability of indemnity clause, among other confidential arguments. Mark secured my home-state forum in contravention to contract forum clause, and after extensive negotiations prompted by detailed and strategic discovery requests, Claimant BD settled the arbitration for a confidential amount with which I was very satisfied. Mark was aggressive in my defense and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing professional legal services. 10 out of 10 for performance and commitment to my case!!!

My FINRA broker dealer terminated me alleging I, and others I controlled, engaged in document alterations. FINRA and the MN DOC made inquiry into my conduct. Mark shadow authored my submission that more accurately showed what had happened and put me in a more favorable light. He was incredibly valuable while appearing for an on-the-record interview by making sure I answered questions to my favor. I contacted Steve due to a personal injury I sustained. Steve immediately took my case. I was treated with respect and consideration by Steve and everyone on his staff. They are exceptional. My case was settled to my satisfaction in less than a year.
My particular injury is at times a hard one to collect damages for, but Steve, took the bull by the horns and got me the settlement I was looking for.

Not all litigators are great in the courtroom. We all see how thoroughly attorneys prepare for trial. And Chuck was very thorough in his preparation for trial. What stood out for me was Chuck's ability to artfully maneuver and then to sense the right moment to strike and destroy on cross examination. I was impressed. That is what I think you would want in an attorney. I was very satisfied with Chuck's "performance" and our subsequent victory in court. I think you want that more than anything else. I recommend Chuck to anyone.

My automobile was ruined due to a manufacturer's engine defect. I was connected with Chris through the legal service at my company. I spoke with Chris on several occasions to explain the specifics of my case and to find out what my options were for getting compensation from the manufacturer. In each conversation Chris was polite, well informed and explained very clearly to me what was needed from me to proceed with a legal action. Chris also made clear what outcomes I could expect if I pursued any action. As issues and milestones came up Chris always kept me informed. When I had questions Chris would respond in a timely and informative manner. When decisions needed to be made, Chris provided clear and concise options and likely outcomes, and made it plain that it was up to me as to how to proceed. However the case would have been resolved I would have felt that I was represented by an excellent advocate who was on my side. Chris was an honest, forthright partner who was an excellent communicator.
Happily, the outcome was much better than I had hoped for and I know full well that I would not have received the same settlement, if any, without Chris' outstanding work.

I am the general Partner of the purity Bakery Building Limited Partnership. Mr. Brendan Tupa, Attorney, was retained to assist in bringing an insurance claim to a settlement. An adjuster had failed to perform on this matter. Mr. Tupa brought legal action against the insurance company resulting in a substantial settlement. He further assisted me dealing with the non-performing insurance adjuster by modifying the fee agreement.
I subsequently retained Mr. Tupa to bring a suit against a railroad over a property issue. Two prior attorneys had begged off on pursuing litigation as a solution to this problem. I can state that within twenty four hours of Mr. Tupa’s service of a law suit, the matter was satisfactorily settled.
Subsequently Mr. Tupa’s office wrote a letter to Xcel Energy a dispute over a utility line location. Within days of this letter the problem was satisfactorily resolved.

Abdifatah is an amazing lawyer my scum of a landlord had a crush on me and when I denied him he tried raising my rent and gave me all sorts of redicoulus fines I had proof of him trying to hit on me text messages and phone recording and when I turned him down how he switched his whole attitude not only did I get those fines thrown away I also had my rent refunded to me for the whole year I lived at the residence to apply at my new residence all around great human being was very good at listening was very caring and extremely helpful I wasn't expecting the results I got but he's very professional and great at what he does!

J. Dudley kindly helped me resolve a case involving supposed 'damage' to an Avis rental car at DLH airport, and he was efficient, professional and timely in his response. Although I am sure it was a minor case for him, monetarily, it was a major headache and financial set-back for me when I received a claim after returning a rental car that there were 'scratches', which included a large, unreasonable bill for repair, LOU and administrative fees regardless of the fact I had photos of the car upon return showing no damages that I had caused, and an eye-witness who also verified in writing that there was no damage to car. Avis customer service dept. would not help me as they claimed that car was independently owned, of which I was never forewarned by Avis or Priceline, and only later learned that company had terrible BBB ratings and multiple complaints by clients for claims of supposed damage to cars after return. I had no leverage to deal with the rental car owner, but J. Dudley resolved the matter in 1 week and the claim was cancelled, which was a huge relief for me. I had felt powerless against a huge rental car company who unscrupulously tacked on various large fees for supposed scratches after car had already been returned undamaged to Avis airport parking lot, and was very grateful for Mr. Dudley very quickly eliminating this claim. I also appreciated that he has a sense of humor, acts human, and treats his clients with respect and concern.

My husband and I have been seeking for the right advice on our complicated and very disturbing case for the parenting time and the child support matter for my 11 year old son. The final order that we've received recently has quiet a few errors and an unexpected order from the judge for my summer parenting time with my son, that we both were extremely dismayed due to the time and enormous financial pressure imposed on us after a long and seemingly very biased procedures with the court. After talking to dozens of laywers including superlaywers in Minnesota, out of desperation, I looked at AVVO site one more time, and Mr. Whelpley caught my eyes with his 40 years of experiences in various fields of expertise. I called him hoping that he would be different from all the other laywers who gave me the same brief advice.
Mr. Whelpley, not only gave us the entirely different approach from all other lawyers, but also was more than willling to listen to me and talk to me way longer than I usually expect from lawyers in general for an initial consulation. He did not push me timewise nor was reluctant to give me the poignant reality check on the judge(s) in a very calming way and on how I should proceed when facing a difficult situations with a judge. His advise was very wise, calming, and also very 'strategic'.
His military background also helped us a lot due to the unique situation that we are in as a military family, which was completely ignored by the court.
Mr. Whelpley was the only lawyer who was more than willing to listen to you and give you the new perspective on your case WITHOUT hurrying you to "finish-the-phone-call-and-hire-the-lawyer(me)-immediately-if-you-want-to-talk-more" kind of way.

Jim Whelpley is a very good Bankruptcy Attorney. It is definitely his calling! During the process of my filing Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, there was a point where I was feeling very sad and over-whelmed and I started to cry. Jim gave me a book to read that listed the names of people throughout history and their lives who had filed bankruptcy (many of these people were people we admire even today!). That book made me feel a lot better!
I also appreciated Jim's sense of humor. He has kind of a dry sense of humor (sort of like Johnny Carson) which is very funny and very often helped to lighten the mood.
Jim has definitely found his "niche" as a Bankruptcy Attorney, and I am grateful for his expertise in helping me find a peaceful life!

Eric is the only Lawyer I will ever call if I was fired for reporting workplace violations or A wrongful termination.. Mr. Blaschko handled my Chapter 13 bankruptcy a few years ago. The results were excellent. He was able to use a delay on the trustee's part to get a quite favorable plan approved. I was able to complete my plan successfully. Mr. Blaschko handled the annoying details too, like a creditor who kept making excuses for not providing a lien release even after their claim was paid in full.
Mr. Blaschko does excellent work in business contracts and estate planning as well. I highly recommend his services.

In July of 2013 my world was shattered when I learned that my husband was not only cheating on me, but had moved our family to his home state of Minnesota to alienate me from my family and friends and divorce me. With my family and friends 1400 miles away, I turned to the internet and found Richard Caldecott.

My case started off with a nuclear bomb being dropped on me so to say. My case was a very litigious court case for custody with all kinds of false allegations and OFPs continuously placed against me from my ex-wife. Richard Caldecott methodically tore the case down one piece at a time. I started with no custody rights due to my rights being stripped from me at the beginning. I even had to see my children in a closed environment with professionals standing over me. This was the most humiliating experience I have ever had to withstand since I have was always been in the public eye. The professionals in this environment had already prequalified me as guilty of allegations not even in the realm of reality; so you can only imagine their treatment towards me.
With all of the above said at the end; I was awarded full “SOLE LEGAL” custody; even being in Anoka County where the county custody intake women told me “men do not have custody”! Jim is a true professional, he know's every angle when dealing with defiant renters. Jim totally took over a bad situation, without him everything would have been at a standstill. I rented my beautiful home in Hibbing a couple of years ago and moved back to my home state, all was fine for the first year and a half, after that the renter lost his job and eventually quit paying rent and refused to kindly leave my home. I gave him time to catch up on the money he owed, he ignored that request and stopped taking phone calls and eventually text messages - I was totally in the dark about what was going on in my home, the neighbors would tell me what they saw but that was all. The renter at this ;point was 4 mos behind, I then called Sellman Law Office and talked to Jim, I felt at ease from that moment on. Jim took over and filed a 14 Day Notice To Quit - the renter ignored it, Jim then filed an eviction notice and took the renter to court on my behalf, thanks to Jim the Judge ordered the renter out in 4 days! The renter again ignored! JIm then filed a writ -the renter arrogant and defiant has now vacated. Jim is definitely on the ball! From the starting gate, he was willing to listen and see through my drug and criminal history to recognize the success I have had in changing my life in the last 7 years.
He accepted late evening phone calls, and prepared several Affidavits and Motions very late in the night for my review and signature. He was also very cool and collected when I was all fired up about my son's Mothers activities. Jim is willing to do the extra mile to make sure things are done correctly the first time.
From the beginning of my custody case, through to the end, Jim was there to fight for my rights, guide me through the legal maze, and steered us away from a very lengthy and expensive trial. I was awarded Temporary Physical and Legal Custody on an Ex Parte Motion, and then awarded Joint Legal and Joint Physical Custody, with my son in my care. Then, after some time went by, we were able to have my ex's visitation rights suspended indefinitely.
