Michael Bruckeheim is an amazing attorney and makes you feel like a friend rather than a client. I knew he was an excellent choice from the start as he spent over two hours on the phone with me on a Saturday morning. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW IN DETAIL: Getting a DUI is stressful. The night of the incident I knew I needed a lawyer. I was so devastated I asked my sister to do some online research and tell me where to go. This was my 2nd time and I thought my life was over. She found Michael and said this guy has 5 stars-go see him. I met with Michael and given my previous experience with attorneys he was one of the most laid back and coolest people I have ever met. His relaxed nature made me uneasy at 1st, but later I would find that I needed this to keep me calm. Michael recommended a series of tasks to complete as a back-up plan, just in case the non-guilty plea went out the window. He made sure I was able to drive until my case was heard.
The week before the trail I met with him and we reviewed the discovery information together including the tape. He gave me a topical overview of the plan but assured me he was ready to fight. The trial date finally arrived, and my stomach was in knots. His cool demeanor instantly made me feel better. The prosecutor wanted to give me a year of jail time after hearing wind of my prior. Michael smiled and said don’t worry. He was very realistic with me and said that there was a small chance that I could serve that sentence. Michael never lied during this entire experience. Somehow, he still felt hopeful.
He had several strategies for multiple scenarios and as the prosecutor maneuvered through the case, Michael was right there with her. The judge overruled him quite a bit, but this didn’t shake Michael at all. With his knowledge of the DUI laws and simply being born here, his technical arguments impressed the judge. At one point, I even saw the prosecutors look of amazement as she did not expect him to be so skilled in the case.
He was able to get the breathalyzer thrown out, from there it was a piece of cake. I walked away from a year sentence to having a ticket for 1 light out over my license plate.
If you are reading this review, trust me look know further for a DUI attorney. Michael will fight hard for your case no matter how the outcome may appear!

Mr. Michael is the true expert and the man of the men for practicing the law in DC area. I got into trouble for some case which I had nothing to do with and government put multiple charges on me without telling me details when they arrested me. Mr. Michael was there to help me and not only as professional lawyer, I felt that he had compassion toward me for what I got into and eager to fight the way out of this which made my whole case dismissed. I contacted Mr Hoffman on behalf of company over a contractual dispute. The opposing party had developed a majority of their financial basis for indemnification on matters not relevant to actual contract law. Additionally, the opposing attorney had made numerous errors in their filing. What I’ve highlighted is just a small portion of what Mr Hoffman was able to point out quickly and change the direction of this discussion toward a mediation and a “reasonable” level to negotiate. I felt Mr Hoffman did what was in my companies best interest to make matters practical and not emotional. As a small business owner trying to get by, the last thing I want is to deal with nuisances of a frivolous lawsuit… having Mr Hoffman on my side certainly brought clarity and confidence how we could handle this matter without creating an unnecessary and complex trial out of this.
Another item to highlight is that Mr Hoffman was quick to return calls/emails. When I originally reached out, he answered his phone. Can’t say that about any of the other attorneys I inquired with and I reached to a handful.

Called him late one evening to inquire about how to obtain my business license. He didn't get annoyed that it was after working hours. Instead, he promised to look it up first thing the next morning and get back to me which he did. He provided me with all the information I needed to get my business license. 5 stars is all this website offers but he gets 20 stars from me.

Mr. Felsen was absolutely amazing! He went over and beyond his call of duty for me, ended up taking on an additional surprise case, and stepped in for my bond hearing. He worked over the weekend to ensure my needs were met for my cases. He even delivered our evidence to the court room in a snowstorm for the next day. Mr. Felsen gave me both the pros and cons to each decision that would be made on my end. He was a diamond in a rough. I wasnt just another number to him. I could tell he truly cared. He also is a monster in the court room and knows law very well. He knows when to be aggressive. My situation is very weird and was a challenging one, but he came through and won our cases. Top caliber lawyer. I had a home improvement contract I was struggling to get out of after the contractor kept delaying the work and tried to bait and switch me with the materials they were going to use. He was thorough in going through the details of the contract and pragmatic about what my legal options were. Drafted a very well written letter to the contractors requesting a cancellation of the agreement which they promptly obliged to. Saved me a lot of headache. I'd recommend him without hesitation.

I was charged with first degree assault.
As soon as I came in for my consultation with Carlos I knew I came to the right attorney. Throughout my case he kept me very well informed of the status of my case. Let me start by saying that if it had not of been for Doug Coggins, my career and future welfare could very well be jeopardized. A little while ago I got into some trouble with the Montgomery County PD and received some fairly serious criminal traffic charges. I had never been in this situation before and had no idea where to start. I met Doug under the referral of my parents and after my first visit, I immediately began to feel better. He told me that based on my past record which was pretty clean considering what I was facing and my decent sense personal integrity, the outcome of my case had a very good chance of being favorable. However, he made sure that he did not give me a false sense of hope and reminded me that I was always at the mercy of the court and that he would do everything in his power to help me. Sure enough a few weeks later Doug came through ten-fold. After our initial meeting, he met with the states attorney and was able to negotiate a deal which entailed that my more serious charges would be dismissed if I agreed to perform 24 hours of community service. I met with Doug one more time after that to discuss the details regarding my community service and how it affected my charges specifically. Following that meeting we went to court where Doug and the states attorney presented the details of our agreement before the judge and asked for an extension so that I could complete my community service. I kept in touch with Doug via e-mail letting him know when my community service was done, and a few months later we went back to court and essentially sealed the deal. The serious charges were dismissed, and the points were dropped on the less serious ones pending that I paid the fines. Doug's proficiency and courtroom demeanor were impressive to say the least and I hardly had to tell the judge anything which was very reassuring since I knew he was on top of it. I highly recommend Doug Coggins to anyone who finds themselves in a situation where they need professional guidance and someone who has their back.

I was referred to Joel Zuckerman by another outstanding lawyer, Stephen Alexander Shechtel (has a perfect 10 rating on Avvo) whom was recommended to me by a trusted friend’s lawyer, Brian Sadur. This friend (a doctor and father), who had experienced an international marriage/divorce with a Japanese national, fully understood the custody challenges involved when divorcing a Japanese National—for context: Japanese culture advocates sole custody to the Japanese parent as the only and safest option for all Japanese (mixed or otherwise) children (hence Japan’s nickname “the black hole of child abduction”). This friend, who despite being a father and non-Japanese, managed to successful win fair custody access to his children against a Japanese mother—therefore his recommendation was clearly sound. Because of gross manipulation and abuse of the courts by my ex-husband’s lawyer, Jessica Markham (read my google review of Jessica Markham for a more thorough understanding of her slimy fermented underskin), I didn’t get the opportunity to follow-up on the recommendation until after my children were kidnapped in Japan from the USA by their father/my-japanese-ex-husband. Shechtel was unable to take on a new case at the time, but he referred me to Joel Zuckerman, who is not only an exceptional lawyer with an intact moral compass (as he took my case knowing I had already extinguished all my funds on legal fees up to that point), but whom also is experienced with complicated international custody cases.
When working on my case, I was blown away by how efficient and concise he worked with his time and communication (being mindful to not waste any of my already depleted funds). He always gave me straight answers (even when he knew it wasn’t the one I wanted to hear) and managed my expectations of what he could or couldn’t do for me. He also worked very fast to meet my fast moving Japanese court deadlines (as my ex always turned in his motions late leaving little time to prepare rebuttals—a shady trick Markham also used in US court). Despite managing my expectations realistically of a low recovery rate with Japan (to date, no non-Japanese parent has ever successfully recovered their child from japan through the Hague convention, and those recovered by other means are estimated to be around 4% in the last 40+ years), he successfully coordinated with my Japanese lawyer, Takao Tanase, to recover my children from parental abduction by means of a Habeas Corpus motion in Tokyo High Court—an insanely difficult task and even more rare feat. I can’t recommend Joel enough to parents in complicated custody battles and feel you won’t find a more hardworking and efficient lawyer with an intact integrity.

Joel Zuckerman represented me during my divorce and support enforcement/recalculation proceedings. I feel extremely fortunate to have had Joel's assistance through one of the most difficult times in my life. He is honest, professional, extremely thorough and well-prepared at all times. I met Mr. Zuckerman by accident. I got a temporary protective order from my ex and I was given the names of 3 attorneys to call. I found Joel Zuckerman on my own without recommendations. I called all 4 attorneys and Mr. Zuckerman was the only one that went above and beyond what I expected. It was my first time going through this and I did not know what to do, think or expect. However, he went directly to the court to get the recording of what my ex told the judge that allowed the judge to grant a temporary protective order. I was impressed. I hired him and during my the protective order hearing he was able to turn everything around. I then hired him for custody because there was an agreement signed that I had no clue of what certain things meant, but he represented me well and I was able to get additional items reverted from the contract I signed.
A few years later I hired him again for custody and we won custody and about $1800/month in child support. He was able to uncover a lot of income my ex was hiding. I couldn't have gone through my custody without him. He is experienced and professional, but most importantly he cares.

What should one look for in a divorce lawyer? Well, I had no idea, but I’ve now been through the journey (and emerged successful). So, let me share what I’ve learned: Five things I’d tell a friend to look for in a family law attorney:
1. Knowledgeable and experienced about family law;
2. Tough and convincing in court and also part of the system (knowledgeable of and friendly with peers);
3. Diligent and demonstrates document preparation;
4. Informative and communicative while being realistic (no lofty promises, just the truth).
5. Last, and most importantly perhaps: Integrity and an honest concern for his clients
I’m able to put this list together, because Jonathan demonstrated all of these in handling my case, particularly his genuine concern for my children and me. This was important to me in my process. I’m so grateful to Jonathan for all he did and I highly recommend him.

I have used him as an attorney twice and I was very happy with the outcome. After being charged for 2 counts in VA, the plaintiff brought the same charges in the state of MD. This is when I hired Ms Riggins.
She took my case, help me overcame my frustration and then represented me in this matter. There were three counts against me in MD. There was also a bench warrant issued for me in the state of MD. After hiring LIsa- Marie, I did not have to worry and deal with the prosecution and the state of MD. She consolidated all 3 cases in one and then on December 1, 2015 we appeared in court and all the criminal proceedings were dismissed.
Thanks to her knowledge of law and professionalism, I did not have to worry for a second that I would be found guilty of a crime. She kept constant communication with me explaining how she handled my case and the communication with the prosecution. I was left with no doubt that she was working hard and build a wall between me and the prosecution.
The result was that the 3 counts were dismissed and I was found not guilty of a crime.

When my family sold our house, we needed a shared driveway maintenance agreement to close the deal with our relocation company. Bob drafted a driveway maintenance agreement for the three neighbors to sign based on terms that we agreed upon. There had been some conflict in the past with these neighbors regarding ownership and maintenance costs of the shared driveway. I was stopped in College Park Maryland at a sobriety checkpoint and blew a .18. I was referred to Bill from a friend. He explained the process to me and the defenses he would raise. He charged a reasonable flat fee that included the MVA hearing and trial. After the MVA hearing I was able to keep driving to work and school. The day of the trial the State did not have all of their witnesses so the Judge postponed the trial to a later date. Bill objected but the judge said it was excusable. He did not charge any more money for the additional court appearance. When the second trail date came around, the state was unable to prove their case and the charges were dismissed. Needless to say I was extremely pleased with the results.

My family and I engaged Mr. Ronald Karp following my involvement as a victim in traffic accident (involving a truck) in 2012. Mr. Karp reviewed the case as it stood, and with his staff meticulously ferreted out the evidence to support my case. That evidence uncovered proved irrefutable and the several aspects of the case (medical, insurance, adequate compensation) were reviewed and comprehensively addressed.
The fees for handling my case were addressed up-front without any further ‘add-ons’ that might have been otherwise expected. Mr. Karp was involved in interviewing me first-hand and was involved in acquiring medical reports on the extent of my injuries. At no stage was there any coercion, for me or my family, to settle on any offered compensation. In fact, his actions encouraged us to ‘stay the course’ through the lengthy process of settlement which he advised could be extended. My company was involved in a recent litigation. We were late in selecting an attorney to represent us in the case. I was referred to Patrick Flores firm several days before the actual trail date. Patrick was assigned to our case. In matter of days, Patrick prepared for the trail and more importantly, he understood the key issues of the case. When the trail began, the opposing attorney questioned the first witness who was called by the other party. Then it was Patrick's turn, he was able to ask the questions in such an incredible way that the key witness for the opposing side actually admitted that they were wrong.
