My husband & I were in a stressful situation that had been ongoing for many years. We live in NH and the court requesting information was in UT. Att. Mumford & her colleague were recommended to us and we could only "hope for the best". We were so pleased with the professionalism, understanding, & compassion they held out for us as we took one tedious step at a time. We recognized very early on that we did "have the best"! Dave came and met my husband at the hospital after our 18 year old son was nearly killed in a head on collision. There wasn't much insurance available so Dave told us he would be happy to offer guidance and counsel, but he wouldn't feel right about taking us on as clients and having some of the insurance settlement go to him when we would need it for the life-long injuries our son was facing! WHO DOES THAT??? Who turns away an "easy to win" case? DAVE DID! He didn't see the dollar signs.... he saw us as fellow humans, fellow parents, scared, confused and just wanted to do right by us and our son! Dave is not only a great human, but a superb attorney. This attorney assisted me regarding questions on statutes of limitations for small claims landlord matters. There was no Utah Code per se regarding limitations of actions. James Dunkelberger was my litigator on a suit I filed against an errant Uncle who was trustee of my Grandpa's estate. Said Uncle ran to the "No. 1" law firm in the state to defend our suit. When that "didn't work" Uncle ran to the "No. 2" law firm in the State. Hilarity ensued!
It was a 15 month fight into which both James and I each put a lot of time but in the end the beneficiaries on my side got 87% of what their full inheritance would have been and that's a lot better than some on Errant Uncle's side ended up with.
My brief take away is that I would never hire one of those "Big Firms." What you need is a good facts and a great lawyer who is honest, smart, clever and professional (did I say smart?).
It was a long slog but we had good facts and James is a great lawyer and all of those things above. He was instrumental to our favorable outcome.

Scott Crook is hands down the best attorney when it comes to Utah employment law, non-competition agreements, litigation, and business law in general.
I’ve worked with several attorneys over the years and Scott has been the only one I’ve been truly impressed with. Mr. James recently acted as mediator in a disputed attorney's fee and malpractice suit involving our group and another law firm. We were very impressed with Mr. James' ability to quickly grasp the situation and identify the relevant facts for each party. However, what impressed us the most was Mr. James' relentless ability to help all parties overcome emotions and make rational decisions.
In the end, and after a whole day of negotiating, we were able to come to an agreement and settle our dispute. I have little doubt that if we had a less focused and determined mediator the agreement would have never been reached and we would still be spending money on attorneys.

I worked with Jared over a series months and was extremely impressed by his combination of legal acumen and expertise as well as real world savvy. He took over a case from a previous attorney who had created a significant mess quagmire for him to unpack, organize and then turn around. Apart from bringing my case to a rapid resolution, he did so at a very reasonable cost and with the utmost efficiency. She was my lawyer when I was In jail and I was in a very delicate situation. I have an eternal amount of respect for her because she is extremely professional. Colleen gives everyone tons of respect and defends with lots of character, she displays a priority to make peace with oneself and the community. Mr. Johnson represented myself in a family law matter. The entire process from start to finish took a little over one year and the process was pretty pricey, but.... it was worth every penny. Mr. Johnson was amazing at keeping me informed and talking with me prior to making decisions. Each and every time we were in court he continued to amaze me at how knowledgeable and powerful he was. He is truly a very skilled attorney; in my opinion, I would say the best.
Mr. Johnson always made me feel like I was his most important client and always responded to my calls/emails immediately. By the end of the trial Mr. Johnson and I had built a relationship that I never thought possible with an attorney. He always had my best interests in mind and went out of his way to make sure my requests were fulfilled. Mr. Johnson has changed my life so dramatically and for the best.
