Emily Wilson became a total fit for my husband and me to complete our estate planning. She explained things clearly, was sensitive to our needs and her professionalism stellar. We also appreciated a flat fee for completing our documents and time spent with her in person and over the phone. No hidden fees. Grateful to have found her. Thank you, Emily.

I cannot say enough good things about working with Kathy Pauktert. She represented me in a State Farm car accident case, that went on for 6 years and was quite stressful. Every step of the way, I really felt that she was representing me fully, with no evidence of influence because it was a State Farm case, and she gave me excellent guidance but ensured that I made my own choices regarding next steps. She communicates very promptly, is kind, and gives an extremely persnalised experience. Her expertise was evident and I would recommend her (and do!) to folks going through similar cases. Knowing how competant she is, I would use this group for any case that they have expertise in.

I have never had a better experience with a law firm than the experience I had with Gilbert Law. They kept me updated on the process and the direction we were going every step of the way. They also fought hard to make sure I was covered in my recovery. There experience and compassion was evident every step of the way.

I had a family law question and called their office. I was offered a phone consultation for a 45-minute consultation for a more than fair price. I accepted the offer and spoke with one of the attorneys who was professional and gracious at the same time. She listened to my situation and offered possible solutions. She was knowledgeable and did not pressure me to retain them. If I need to proceed with my situation, I will definitely be calling DiNenna & Associates!

I was unfairly terminated from my previous employer due to a disability and Mr. Kirby did a phenomenal job from beginning to end. He took my case despite my previous employer's clout in the community and was open with me about how their reputation may affect the process and the outcome. Mr. Kirby was thorough, diligent, and I greatly appreciated his patience with me as I was still reeling from my termination. It was obvious from the beginning that he cared not just about winning, but he was also angry on my behalf for how I was treated. He explained the legal process in a way I could understand so that I could make informed decisions. As Mr. Kirby explained, he was my lawyer, so he wanted me to direct the decision-making. Mr. Kirby seemed to have great relationships within the local legal community. He was also always on top of deadlines and often wanted to get paperwork filed well before the deadline. Finally, I don't know if I would have made it through that time of my life in one piece if it hadn't been for his encouragement and his excellence and genuine care in dealing with my case. Even if we hadn't had a positive outcome, I feel very grateful for Mr. Kirby and would recommend him to anyone.

I hired Mr. Kirby to represent me in an employment discrimination case in November, 2016. I was fired by my employer after requesting reasonable accommodations to help me work with a chronic illness which affects my right hand and foot and causes neuropathic pain. I will address three strengths which benefited me in working with Pat. 1) He educated me about the law in terms and language I, as a non-attorney, can understand; 2) He was thorough in his review of documents pertinent to my case, and 3) he was tactful in speaking with me about the things that were said and written about me, as well as toward the defendants in his depositions of them. I learned much about tact and diplomacy from watching Pat.

From the first meeting with Attorney Pat Kirby, my wife and I felt we'd made a connection with a professional that we'd like to have in our corner. He made us feel that he had an understanding of what I had gone through and, although empathetic, questioned & somewhat challenged my situation & position in a manner that made me feel he was taking me & my case seriously. After agreeing to take my case, he was off and running on my behalf, and kept in touch with us every step of the way. If I had a question or needed to contact him for any reason, I was always able to talk to him personally either the same day or certainly within 24 hours of my call. He and his legal assistant, Danielle, were great to work with and were both professional as well as compassionate. My wife and I were very pleased with the outcome of the case, resolved in less than a year, and would highly recommend Attorney Patrick Kirby.

I had high hopes for this business transaction. However, I felt very taken advantage of in regards to how this transpired. It seemed as though my lack of knowledge in the legal field was recognized and taken advantage of. I ended up with 10k in charges for something colleagues have had taken care of for much less. I feel that some kind of rough numbers should have been discussed aside from just hourly cost. He was very nice and prompt to get things back to me quickly when needed.

As somebody who worked in top law firms, I can say that Michelle is not a very good lawyer. She is not thorough and we later found out that she has a reputation of not being thorough, which is the worst quality for a lawyer. Needs some work on communication. Took her a while to get back to us and some messages were not answered. She could also stand to be more aggressive instead of nice. I would not recommend.

I was laid off 38 days after filing a hostile-work-environment sexual harrasment complaint at my organization. I knew this complaint was a key factor in my layoff. I turned to Michelle, who had also instructed me in a course at Whitworth University, and she walked me through my options. Instead of going through a long lawsuit process, I was able to negotiate a larger severance pay. This enabled me to stand up for myself without damaging my professional reputation in a small community. This was a perfect solution for me and my family. If I have similar needs in the future, I'll absolutely use her again.

By far the best decision I have ever made. My divorce of 2 years was finalized 3 months after hiring Spencer. His approach, accountability and guidance are unmatched. Spencer is very knowledgeable of the law, the judges ruling patterns, and HE CARES about the kids. He’s an aggressive attorney that will fight hard for what is right and he will not be afraid to call his clients out if they are being unreasonable. Spencer took on my case when nobody else would because it was a mess. When watching his first court hearing, I knew within 30 seconds we were going to win. He went in strong, had studied my case thoroughly going back 7 years. He remembered pertinent details and he represented my son in that court room that day. He did an incredible job. Joanne, his right hand is just as incredible. She remembers details, she’s prompt to respond and overall just above and beyond professional. I highly recommend this duo for high conflict custody situations. They will handle your case with care, integrity, and exceptional knowledge.

Carl Hueber is either a legal super genius, or extremely lucky. He filed a losing appeal that made it possible to fix a losing PRP to get my conviction overturned. What!? Yeah. I'll explain that later, but first... Hueber first represented me at resentencing. He shook the prosecutor's hand before it began, after which I felt hiring him was a huge mistake: the handshake didn't look like the one you see before a fight. Hueber wasn't all that impressive in the courtroom, and his motions all failed(two different things, but related). However, he was a good salesman, and suckered me into getting him a bunch of money to file an appeal. Here's where the lucky or super genius comes in. The PRP filed by another attorney had omissions(at my request because I am a moron) that, by technicality, would/may have caused it to lose unless it were appended. By filing the appeal he kept the sentence from becoming final. This prevented the case from being time barred from collateral attack. This allowed the PRP to be appended. This got my conviction overturned... After a decade. Hueber also represented me at a bond hearing. Backstory: Before trial I was out on my own recognizance(OR). I paid $0 bail. It was just my promise to show up to court. After trial, I filed a motion for an appeal bond, which was granted. My sentence was 9 years to life, I did 10 years, and had my conviction was overturned(retrial ordered). I never missed a single day of court, have no criminal record at all, and my behavior was exemplary. With no conviction, my sentence basically done, being out on OR the first trial, no failure to appears, no priors, nothing... the bail amount he procured was six figures, and not much lower than when I had just a couple months into that 11 to life sentence. Yes, it was 11 and then turned into 9, but that's another story. I don't know if my review was that helpful, or if Hueber was all that helpful. He's either lucky, or a super genius. That makes him either a bad attorney, or a bad-ass attorney. These are just the facts. Basis for the rating. THE APPEAL: Six stars or No stars. RE-SENTENCING AND BOND: The rest of his representation was as disappointing as the average attorney, so three stars. Weighing it all in, and the importance of each - the average is 3 stars with a deviation of 2 stars. That means he should have 1 star or 5 stars and this review was pointless.

After doing okay business with him for years. He took on a new matter knowing exactly what I was asking for including filing a complaint. He ran up a bill for $900 (which was paid) to essentially make a demand letter and then waited almost a month after I instructed him to file the complaint to tell me he wasn't going to do the work. Cam was my divorce attorney in 2016. Cam over books herself and is worn out. Cam did not have time for me and would not call me back for several days. When she finally called back she was rushed and irritated.. She was unkind and condescending to me, just what you do not need while going through a stressful divorce. After 3 months of a horrible experience I had to drop her. When I sent her an email telling her this she immediately wrote the court and said she dropped me! She did nothing to make my case progress and she took $10k from me. She did not protect me and left me worse off than if I had never hired her. I feel it is my responsibility to let others know my experience.

Dynamic, articulate, a fireball, knows my case inside and out, available when needed, passionate for my children, forthright with what is possible and what would be a stretch to ask for, all in all she has helped me find my spine again after years of being torn down by my ex. She reminds me what my kids deserve and my right to fight for them and they're overall wellbeing. Would hire her again in a heartbeat and trust her abilities even if it was a murder charge. After being improperly charged, I hired Mr. Lee. He seemed competent in the interview, did a great sales job getting me to hire him. When you have a false charge filed against you that can cause you to even lose your business, you are stressed. Last thing you want is a laughing, jovial attorney that always asks you if you are having as much fun as he is. His reminder at every hearing 'Isn't this exciting?' does not bode well when you are stressed. He does not recognize the seriousness his clients face. Case resolution? The same 'deal' the next guy in line received who had no lawyer at all. I am calling Mark Vovos next time.

I caught a trespasser hunting my property without a license or i.d. This is called poaching where I come from. I peacefully relieved the suspect of his weapon with an agreement to return it a later time & location if he could produce a license. Instead, he later called police & I was charged with first degree robbery involving a weapon. The poacher was not charged. Law Enforcement neglected several of their responsibilities & became the problem more so than the poacher. I have a reputation to protect & Richard Lee went to work immediately. He answered my calls personally & returned all my emails the same day, sometimes within minutes. He instantly created counter-attack strategies & prepared for offense as well as my defense. As a land-rights proponent, I was excited by the thought of a trial but Richard had my charges dropped within a week. Extremely easy to talk to and very professional. And, I really liked the fact that I could tell that Richard was pissed off a little that these charges were brought against a land owner acting in fair defense of his property. It's not too often we find attorneys that get seriously involved a case. Richard Lee is a true American warrior.

David Gardner was the trustee on my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. He failed to check out my creditors. He did NOT sell my home for the price listed on the Purchase and Sale Agreement wherein he sold it $25,000.00 under the purchase price as recorded on the Real Estate Purchase & Sale Contract. He overpaid the Mortgage Company after I repeatedly informed him that the pay-off amount was $20,000 plus over what I actually owed! David's mission to sell my home gave him a huge pay-off! You need to keep an eye on him if you are assigned him as a trustee. And if you do have assets consult with a QUALIFIED HONEST ATTORNEY!

In 2009 I was in a mva accident with a corporate company. ( fyi Police report stated I was 100 percent not at fault) I thought hiring Scott cifrese was a good idea because he knew the corporate law world. I was sadly mistaken only after the settlement was finalized. First off Scott was extremely hard to get ahold of and rarely returned phone calls from me in a timely manner if at all. Something deep down told me that he didn't care. (As lawyers only work as hard for you as they care to) I pressed forward hoping I made the right choice. During the settlement I did make a loan shark mistake which I thought Scott should have advised me not to. Or maybe helped me out knowing I had a solid case. He also never contacted anyone in my insurance company which pip would of covered and helped me not be put in the position to go to a settlement loan shark. But the biggest point to this review is about a year after my settlement i find some news out. First off during mediation when we settled, scott told me i have no doctors that back me and say the injuries i still suffer from today are directly related to my car accident. Basically saying i dont have much of a case. So a year after that im in descussion with my doctor who treated me during this time for my chronic injuries. I was still upset and made a comment on how he did not think my injuries were directly related to the mva. He looked at me with confusion and told me that in his legal inogouration (his statement for the case) hhe stated my chronic pain and further injuries were indeed directly related to the mva. I do feel strongly there was malpractice on Scott's part. I also feel he was either paid off or pushed me through the system to get his money with minimal effort.

Hired Mike Wolfe to help with a guarding ship after giving him a retainer of 5k we had a Settlement that It was agreed upon that everybody’s fee were to be reimbursed by the Estate well he tried the oldest trick in the book and put In the settlement that the money was going to him when truly it should of been going to me When I asked him about it he said RANDALL DANSKIN Would be cutting me a ck. Well after hearing that the estate paid my money out to the account I asked when I should expect my money. He went on to say that there was some overages and that I would be getting 3600 of my 5k. I informed him this was not acceptable he has now keep All my money in a effort to get me to settle. Now him and Shawna one of the partners offered me all but 378.00 back which again I did not agree. If his bill was more all he had to do was simply revise settlement. Bar complaint being filed. DO NOT SIGN ENGAGEMENT LETTER YOU WILL BE SORRY. I will update when complaint and claim are complete.

What a Litigation Lawyer Can Do for You

A litigation lawyer specializes in representing individuals, businesses, or organizations involved in legal disputes. Whether you're the one filing a lawsuit or you're being sued, a litigation attorney will advocate on your behalf throughout the entire legal process. Their goal is to resolve disputes, either through negotiation, settlement, or trial. Litigation lawyers can help with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, real estate issues, employment disputes, personal injury claims, and more.

Litigation lawyers provide strategic legal advice and manage all aspects of your case, from filing motions to representing you in court, ensuring that your rights are protected and that you have the best chance of achieving a favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Litigation Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a litigation lawyer if you're involved in a legal dispute that you cannot resolve on your own. Common situations include:

  • Breach of contract disputes: If a party to a contract fails to fulfill their obligations, a litigation lawyer can help you seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Litigation lawyers can represent you in cases of partnership disagreements, intellectual property disputes, or business fraud.
  • Employment disputes: If you're facing issues like wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, or wage disputes, a litigation lawyer can help resolve these matters through negotiation or court action.
  • Personal injury claims: If you've been injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a litigation attorney can help you pursue your case.
  • Real estate or property disputes: When there are conflicts over property ownership, boundary issues, or lease agreements, a litigation lawyer can assist in resolving the dispute.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is beneficial, especially if a lawsuit seems imminent or you have already been served with legal documents.

What Does a Litigation Lawyer Do?

A litigation lawyer handles all aspects of your case, from the initial investigation to the trial and even the appeals process, if necessary. Their role includes:

  • Case assessment and investigation: Analyzing the facts of your case and advising whether it’s worth pursuing or defending.
  • Pleadings and motions: Drafting and filing documents to initiate or respond to a lawsuit, including complaints, motions to dismiss, and answers.
  • Discovery: Gathering evidence, including depositions, interrogatories, and document requests, to build your case.
  • Negotiations and settlement discussions: Attempting to resolve disputes through mediation, arbitration, or settlement talks before going to trial.
  • Trial representation: Presenting your case in court, examining witnesses, introducing evidence, and making legal arguments before a judge or jury.
  • Appeals: If necessary, filing appeals to challenge or defend the outcome of the trial.

Litigation lawyers are also skilled negotiators and often work to resolve disputes outside of court to save time, money, and stress for their clients.

How Are Litigation Lawyers Paid?

Litigation lawyers typically use a variety of fee structures depending on the type of case, the complexity of the legal matter, and the financial circumstances of the client. Common payment arrangements include:

  • Hourly rates: Many litigation attorneys charge by the hour, with rates varying based on experience and geographic location.
  • Flat fees: For specific, predictable legal tasks (such as filing a motion), lawyers may offer a flat fee.
  • Contingency fees: In personal injury or other cases where you seek damages, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, taking a percentage of the settlement or award if you win.
  • Retainer: Some clients pay a retainer fee upfront to secure ongoing legal services. The lawyer then bills against this retainer as work is done.

The exact structure should be discussed in the initial consultation to ensure you understand how and when you'll be charged.

How Much Does a Litigation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of a litigation lawyer varies significantly depending on the nature of the dispute and the lawyer’s experience. Factors affecting the cost include:

  • The complexity of the case: More complex litigation involving extensive discovery, expert witnesses, or multi-party suits typically costs more.
  • Time spent: Litigation cases can be time-consuming, especially if they go to trial. The longer the case, the higher the legal fees.
  • Type of fee arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $200 to over $1,000 per hour, depending on the lawyer’s reputation and location. Contingency fees generally range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award.
  • Stage of litigation: Cases that settle early in the process are often less expensive than those that proceed to trial or appeal.

It’s crucial to ask about cost estimates during your initial consultation to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Litigation Lawyer

Before hiring a litigation lawyer, it's essential to ask key questions to ensure you're choosing the right representation:

  1. What is your experience with cases like mine?
Ensure that the lawyer has experience handling your specific type of dispute, whether it's a contract issue, personal injury, or business matter.
  2. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case's strengths, weaknesses, and the likelihood of success.
  3. What is your fee structure?
Clarify how you'll be charged, whether by the hour, a flat fee, or on a contingency basis.
  4. How long do you expect my case to take?
While it's hard to predict, an experienced lawyer can give you a rough estimate based on similar cases.
  5. How often do you settle cases versus going to trial?
Some lawyers are more inclined to settle, while others may be more experienced in the courtroom. It’s important to understand their strategy.
  6. What is your approach to resolving disputes?
Some lawyers prefer aggressive litigation, while others focus on settlement or mediation. Choose one whose approach aligns with your goals.

How to Check the Credibility of a Litigation Lawyer

To verify a litigation lawyer’s credibility, consider the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Ensure the lawyer is in good standing with the state bar and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online reviews can provide insight into the lawyer’s professionalism and track record.
  • Look for litigation experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they have handled cases like yours and have a record of success.
  • Request references: Ask the lawyer to provide references from past clients who can speak to their effectiveness and approach.
  • Research their trial experience: If your case is likely to go to trial, ensure the lawyer has a history of courtroom success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make your first consultation with a litigation lawyer productive, you should prepare the following:

  • A clear outline of the dispute: Provide a timeline and key details about the legal issue you're facing.
  • Any relevant documents: Bring contracts, emails, letters, or any other documentation that pertains to the case.
  • A list of key players: Provide the names of individuals or companies involved in the dispute.
  • Questions about fees and the litigation process: Make sure you understand how the lawyer plans to approach your case and how you will be charged.
  • Your goals and expectations: Be clear about what outcome you're hoping for, whether it's a settlement, compensation, or another resolution.

By coming prepared, you can ensure that your initial meeting with the lawyer is both efficient and insightful, giving you a better sense of how to proceed with your case.
