I found that I needed to revise my Will after some life changing events. I had two previous Wills drawn up but neither were as thorough or as detailed as the one that Attorney Bulkovitch did. She took the time to go over every legal aspect in detail with me and answered all of my questions and concerns. The thoroughness and preparation with which Melissa approached my case was exemplary! That, along with the innovative strategies she incorporated, reduced the time frame of the divorce from a year to seven months. It was moving towards a trial which would have added another four to five months. In the courtroom, Melissa was sharp as a razor's edge. Respectful and amicable with the other side until they began personal attacks and bullying in and out of court. Melissa was not having ANY of that nonsense and the gloves came off both in and out of court! She was prepared for the other side to try that tactic and fought back with facts they weren't prepared to address. Ultimately, she did not allow my character to get decimated due to false accusations. She also read me as far as how much and which kind of information I could could take at any given time, she did not inundate me but rather waited until she knew I was ready to hear it. I could go on all day and write many more paragraphs. Simply put... the opposing attorney and ex-wife were on a mission to destroy my character and break me financially which is NO exaggeration. I know if I did not have a lawyer the caliber of Melissa, not only would these proceedings still be going on, the other side probably would've achieved their goal. You will not go wrong or regret retaining Melissa as your lawyer, it would be the smartest thing you could do!

My divorce has finally ended. Attorney Gersten’s representation, guidance, and ability to walk me through this process was top notch. I had a very contentious divorce, my ex tried to have me put in prison on false accusations. Attorney Gersten was right there on the phone with the detectives keepingme free. In the end we accomplished all my goals in the divorce and feel like the judge truly saw my side of events. Karen’s closing was a perfect summary of how I had been wronged by my wife and my love of my daughter, the other victim in this case. I nearly cried in court. Her staff has always been there to answer questions and give reassurance that my voice was going to be heard. I recently found myself in the middle of a "gray" divorce. 70 years old, married for 13 years to a woman that turned on me. I decided to represent myself in court, defending my pension, Social Security, health care, non marital assets, bank accounts and such. It didn't take long for me to realize I needed a professional consultation as her attorney's proposal was outrageous and would ruin me financially for the rest of my life.
Karen's name was highly recommended by a close friend. A quick email to her office and I scheduled a consultation.
I'm a good judge of people and immediately knew she was the person I wanted representing me. No nonsense or small talk. Straight to the point. Professional and knows the law. I knew she had my back.
Once the dust settled, I was able to keep 90% of what I worked my entire life for. To say I am happy with her service would be an understatement.
Regarding payment, her billing was straightforward and well documented. The entire process cost me much less than I expected.
In short, I would highly recommend consulting with Karen first. You won't regret it.

Attorney Gersten is a top divorce attorney in the area. She did an amazing job and what seemed to be impossible to me a year ago. I went through a very difficult divorce. Before hiring attorney Gersten I interviewed 4 other attorneys and I am glad I chose Karen. She is very efficient and has fair charges and accounting of hours practice. Karen is very knowledgeable and well respected in the court. She always fights to protect interests of her clients, while open to settlement without unnecessary trials if her clients are satisfied with outcome. If presented with challenge, Karen is open to face it without hesitation and do research of precedents to be used in the court. Karen is always confident and has genuine care for her clients. She always comes to the court prepared and ready to protect your interests. Karen is working hard to make sure she provides high quality service. I wish I could give Karen more than 5 starts.

What began as a tough decision to find representation at a very difficult time, turned into a huge relief that helped me to protect my family's interests and needs. Catherine and her amazing staff helped me every step of the way, from consultation to the final judgement. Catherine was there, at any time, to answer my questions, address my concerns and explain every step of this process. My children and I were put in a difficult situation and Catherine walked me through it. At various times when I was unsure of what was in the best interests of my family, she explained the possible outcomes in a way that made it understandable and that allowed me to make the right decision. Catherine always told it as it was and explained how the system works and how to help my family achieve what we needed. When I was pushing for certain goals, Catherine facilitated it. Even when I was not able to reach those goals, Catherine was a voice of reason and explained how to care for my family the best way possible given the situation. She fought for my behalf multiple times and constantly tried to reach a written agreement even very early in the process. Catherine and her incredible staff were constantly in communication with me about what was happening and what could develop in the process. Many times, Catherine cooled my emotions and reminded me of the big picture. After filing for divorce in the middle of last year we came to an agreement early this year, and I could not be any more pleased. Catherine's attention to detail in the final agreement has left me with a feeling of relief, knowing that my children and I are protected and in turn have a much more comfortable and safer environment.

Do not. I repeat do NOT settle for a subpar attorney when your reputation rests on another mans shoulders. This lawyer knows how the legal system works from a to z and if you are being falsely accused he will fight for you until the end. He worked tirelessly along with is assistant to get a false charge dismissed and was successful. Do not waste your time looking at reviews that say anything negative about this lawyer. He works extremely hard to uphold the the law and integrity of his clients it is on another level. It’s been 5 years since my divorce. I am finally able to write a review. The entire process was horrible and caused PTSD. Eric and his team made my situation the best it could be. He came in to my divorce as a second atty. First atty that I had for 9 months was horrible. Eric wrapped up my complicated case in 3 months - he was incredible! I am not from this arena of power house negotiating or strategy. I am so grateful he was up against my ex and his atty. He fought swiftly, intentionally and successfully. He understood my abilities and my lack of abilities. He fully read the opposing team and their antics/personalities/“wrong doings” to the max degree. He was emotionally there for me…as I felt scared and weak. Being a stay at home mom is a wonderful opportunity I was afforded in life. But a divorce process is extremely intimidating to this inferior position.
When there is a sense of no control or ability to access family money-this feels like drowning.
Eric was a gentleman and moved with professional integrity while being challenged with extreme undue stress from the opposing team. If you feel like an underdog-you need Eric-I can only speak from that vantage point.

Extremely rude secretary who appears with no compassion for disability, and claims to work for an attorney who represents those with disability discrimination cases. Was thinking of hiring these attorneys until I saw how arrogant and condensending the front desk lady was and decided against it as i cannot talk with someone without compassion for medically disabled. She who works at the front lost them a potential client or clients, and I retained a different lawyer. This is a retaliation related civil suit I'm referencing

Did not return calls. I met her at her previous firm Rowan in Shelton. After our initial consultation we never saw or heard from again. Didn't tell us she was leaving the firm just after hiring the firm. We liked her when she refused to acknowledge me. No return calls or emails. I thought oh she's busy than I realized, she is not even willing to sit down and talk. Just ignored us. I guess she didn't want to take our type of case.
We ended up with a good lawyer in Bridgeport. But I was not impressed by her. By the way this was just over a year ago or so.

After 28 months and two lawyers representing me in a complex divorce, Linda, as my third lawyer, finally settled my case in nineteen days. She is nothing but hard working, compassionate, ethical and smart. I had more communication with Linda than either of my past two lawyers combined.
