One fact that people should realize about internet reviews is that they are not always accurate, can be misleading and unfairly critical, especially the negative ones. In family law, cases can be challenging and complex. As a client of Jim Keil for an extended period of time involving a contentious and complex case I hope my perspective of Jim Keil as an attorney may be helpful for others.
As a client you need an attorney with attributes of integrity and honesty, as well as an individual that is hard working, well prepared, and extremely knowledgeable of the law. As my attorney, I have found Jim Keil to be all of those things and more. Jim’s understanding to the approach to your legal case is derived by his wealth of experience and brilliant understanding of the law. All of these important factors in my case have been demonstrated especially during trial.
The best analogy of Jim Keil I can give as an attorney relates to college football. Jim is the Alabama Crimson Tide of family law. His success to win a case is not by taking for granted his talent or being complacent by previous wins. His success is achieved by all the hard work and preparation he puts forth toward each case. An opposing counsel would have to bring their “A” game each and every time if they wish to compete with Jim Keil.

Jim Keil has been in this business a long time and knows his stuff. My divorce case was contentious and my wife had very aggressive lawyers. I am a successful professional and an easy target. Jim knows when where to push in negotiations and saved my financial future from vicious attacks! Jim also cares about his billing habits. Some firms are interested in billing as many hours as they can. Jim is careful and prudent with his billing. I would wager that my total attorney cost was half what some other firms would charge. I was referred to Jim through friends and am glad I took their advice. One friend said, "When it comes to divorce, you have to pay for the best and forget the rest!" I'm glad I listened.

I had the opportunity to have Kaplan Morrell handle my workers compensation claim. They were actually referred to me by The Jordan Law firm and were very highly recommended. I feel so very grateful to Kaplan Morrell. Their whole team was fantastic. I worked a lot with Tammy Roberts from their office and she was amazing! She answered all my questions, always kept me informed with numerous updates, was always quick to respond and helped navigate me through the complexities of the whole legal process. When the debit consultation company is had been paying for over a year wasn't paying down my debit and I was getting threatened with law suits I didn't know what to do. Looks like my review was unfairly taken down....guess this firm wants to keep my families experience hush hush. I TESTIFIED in court on behalf of my brother and the custody over my two nieces, we had two family meetings with Tyler plus I sent him a very long and lengthy email in November of 2023 that he never replied to yet charged my father $350 to read, which I don't believe he even read my email. So if this firm is trying to claim my review is not valid because I didn't hire Tyler myself they are incorrect!!! I was a part of this entire journey so for Google to take down my review after this firm reported it is not OK as I was involved with this case from beginning to end.- so here is my review again!!!! ZERO stars!!!! My father and brother hired Tyler Lambert to help my brother win his custody battle with his two young daughters. Tyler many times was very hard to get in touch with and would ignore phone calls over and over again. I kept telling my dad and brother that they needed to hire a new attorney because Tyler did not have my brothers best interest at heart. I wish they would've taken me a little more seriously however they felt they had invested so much money in him already that they stuck by him. Tyler showed no evidence in court to help my brother out... We submitted text messages, social media posts, conversations, photos of our family over the last 16 years with my brothers daughters, etc...Tyler used none of it in court. He had so much proof on my ex sister in law and how her attorney was blowing everything out of proportion plus evidence that could have made my brother's ex look really bad and prove she's a liar - but Tyler provided none of it and when they were claiming untrue statements about my brother he didn't object, not one time!!!! Tyler told all of us that were testifying on the stand that we needed to "be nice" and say "nice things" about my ex sister in law and that we should NOT provide any family photos as this judge doesn't like seeing family photos. Meanwhile the other side TRASHED my brother and they also showed a ton of photos - clearly Tyler's advice was the worst we could have taken. The end result were my nieces moving away with their mother to Illinois and pinning my brother as a bad father. He's an amazing father. He just has a bitter and scorned ex-wife that wanted to hurt him so badly that she used her own children for leverage. Do not hire Tyler if you are going through a custody battle with children... He does not care and will not show proof and documentation of what you give him to help your case out. He basically collected a paycheck and nothing more. Now my brother's daughters are in a fatherless environment because he failed to do his job properly. I WILL CONTINUE TO REPOST REVIEWS IF THIS ONE IS TAKEN DOWN - THIS EXPERIENCE WAS MY EXPERIENCE FIRSTHAND WITH TYLER!!!!!

James Cordes provided terrible advice. His drafting was sloppy and required extensive redrafting by opposing counsel, and he advised me to take a terrible deal. Because of James, I am taking home a fraction of my income. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize how bad it was until firing him and employing new counsel. He is a nice man, but a bad lawyer. I wish I had gotten a second opinion before it was too late.

I hired Dick to take over a very complicated case nearly 20 years ago. My hearing date was actually on September 11, 2001 And was rescheduled when the court closed after the planes hit the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
I had a very complex & emotional case. I was young & naive & married a man I thought I knew but didn’t. He was a fantastic liar & could charm anyone by telling them exactly what they wanted to hear. He was able to convince his lawyer & mine that I was the one lying when it was him.
I had been severely injured in a car accident not long after I met him. I got a substantial settlement for my injuries & the future medical expenses, the life ahead of me of severe chronic pain and inability to earn the income I would have without the pain.
The man I married changed into someone else the moment we returned from our honeymoon.
I was foolish & naive & put all of that money in a joint account (legally making it equally his even though the accident & settlement both occurred before we got married.). My ex spent it all.
I trusted and believed he worked very long hours and traveled as needed with his job. I was focused on a series of major medical procedures like reconstruction of my jaw and face (5 surgeries and still need a titanium total joint replacement for my jaw). Having to leave my job & find another one before my short term disability ran out while getting my surgeries. I decided to finish my MBA in one semester before going back to work so was very distracted with the pain, procedures, moving and getting my MBA.
When that money was gone he turned to credit cards I was unaware of & ran up $50k in debt that I was legally half responsible for. ( Full of charges to places I had never been & things from Victoria’s Secret that I never saw.)
I was not around much & when I was I was either doing homework or resting from the constant chronic pain & series of surgeries and recovery.
He went from the perfect charming man for me telling me everything I wanted to hear & believe about him to a completely different man the day we got home from our honeymoon.
He became increasingly violent and dangerous until the day I left.
The day I left he started loading a 9mm gun while screaming at me that he would NEVER let me leave! He demanded instructions to get the money from my life insurance policy from my employer. He had a perfect plan to put my body in a wood chipper after I was dead to destroy my body & all evidence. We were needing to landscape at the new house & it was perfect to just mix my body in with the mulch. He would tell everyone I abandoned him & left everything with him.
I managed to get the loaded gun from him & ran out the door with my purse, keys, gun, the clothes on my back and — MY LIFE!
I hired a “low cost” attorney who drug things out ran up the retainer & told me I had to return the gun to my ex for HIS 2nd amendment rights.
He also got me a restraining order with my location on it! I had to move again & hire a new attorney!
I had already spent $10,000 to get nowhere.
I found Dick & he fixed everything! In court Dick & his associate had a full day of questioning my ex until he lost track of his lies. He couldn’t fight with a real man when he was used to picking on women. My ex even insulted the judge!
Dick came into a mess of a case with deadlines that had passed & I was an emotional, terrified wreck.
Dick was able to make me feel safe & return me to as close to financially & emotionally whole again as possible.
He was THE BEST Lawyer in 2001, & I can’t begin to imagine how good he is now. He saved my life literally & financially so I could get a new start.
He is worth EVERY penny!
Dick is extremely knowledgeable of the laws, he is great with negotiating in virtually impossible situations. He is tough as nails, but also sensitive to what his client is going through & gets results.

I recently went through a divorce and Mr. Rotole was recommended to me but a co-worker. Mr. Rotole was extremely knowledgeable and was not afraid to take on my strange situation as I was a resident of Colorado and my ex husband lived out of state (I am active duty military and my ex-husband was former military). Mr. Rotole and his staff were constantly keeping me informed on communications they had with my now ex-husband. Even though my ex-husband choose not to participate in the divorce Mr. Rotole and his staff made sure he was always aware of what was going on and important court dates. My ex-husband made Mr. Rotole and his staffs job difficult at times, he would claim to not have gotten documents that were sent 3 different ways, he would call yelling at the staff. Mr. Rotole and his staff were never anything but professional and accommodating. I am extremely pleased with my experience with Mr. Rotole and his staff. Divorce is never an easy or fun experience but Mr. Rotole made it as painless as possible. I could not have been any more pleased with the out come. Thank you

Suzanne helped me with my divorce last year. She is professional, sharp, and extremely effective. I was able to keep my retirement accounts because she pointed out that my ex and I had always kept our accounts separate from day 1 of the marriage, and that I should be able to retain my own accounts. The judge accepted this and signed off on it, and I feel safe and financially secure as a result.
As contentious as divorce can be, she helped keep everything fair and civil. She is a wonderful person who wants to help.
I cannot recommend her enough!

It is a pleasure to compliment the legal work that Susanne Ewy has done for me.
At 92 years of age my ability to deal with Boulder (Colorado) County authorities is quite limited. When I received notice this year that my home valuation had just risen by 50% I was shocked. This meant my home real estate taxes would also rise by this same 50% amount!
Boulder (Colorado) County displayed “comparable” nearby home properties that had recently sold as justification despite the significant differences in comparisons. I engaged Suzanne Ewy to help me deal with Boulder County over this gross exaggeration.
She developed a plan, gathered materials, both statistical and visual, and, within the County-stated strict limitations, delivered my request for re-evaluation. She prepared, I think, about forty-five pages of information for the County.
The County Assessor rejected her request for re-evaluation completely, requiring her to file an appeal and appear before the Board of Equalization. She prepared me for that virtual hearing, making sure that I could hear and understand the proceedings.
Long story shortened, the BOE granted me the totality of my evaluation amount – the entire reduction of 50%. Virtually unheard of in this county. This will result in a reasonable tax amount that will have an immediate and a long-term effect on this aging citizen who has paid Boulder real estate taxes since about 1970.
My many thanks and admiration for her reasoned and effective work is unbounded.
