I recently had the pleasure of working with Barbara Hammers, an attorney at Hammers & Baltazar, on my divorce. I was very nervous about the process, but Barbara made it as easy and stress-free as possible. She is extremely professional, patient, and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain everything to me in detail and answer all of my questions. She was also very responsive to my emails and phone calls.
I know I was a bit of a pain in the tush at times, but Barbara always remained calm and collected. She was never judgmental or condescending. She made me feel like I was her only client and that she genuinely cared about my well-being.

I just contacted this office because SSI denied my application. After getting advice from many other disabled individuals on SSI, I'm now looking into getting an attorney to help get my case approved, as I have more than abundant proof of both mental and physical disability.
Despite mentioning this, they've decided to turn me away, claiming that "they didn't think they'd be able to prove I'm disabled". Even though I hadn't been able to send them the papers/documentation yet, as a case hadn't been assigned before they declined to aid me.
Very disappointed to see this especially when I was going off of reviews that made me confident and excited to work with them. Fortunately, there /are/ many attorneys and lawyers in the county out here to help those in need.

I would recommend Christine Kerian for couples who are going through a divorce and want to work things out outside of the courtroom. It's difficult to write a glowing review due to the context (a divorce) as it would sound a bit odd. That said, I did a lot of research before choosing Christine and she more than lived up to my expectations. She is very good at finding middle ground in a difficult situation and is good at bringing both parties back to the topic at hand and explaining the different facets.
If you're looking for someone who cares, she's it. She really does try to make things equitable and less painful for everyone. I can't say I'd recommend a divorce lawyer as that's a very hard place for anyone to be, but if you're in that situation, I'd say go this route with her instead of pointlessly fighting a battle that's already been lost. She'll make what's very difficult a bit easier. And that's worth quite a lot.

Working with Diana was a gift from God. I knew my divorce was going to be messy - our break-up was disastrous - but Diana was fabulous at mitigating the items and dividing it up so that we were both happy. Or perhaps satisfied is a better word - nothing about divorce is happy. Anyway, she was amazing. She knew just the right things to say and kept both of us in our chairs the whole process, which is quite a feat, I assure you. She has a very calming effect. I appreciated how when my husband of 23 years and I were getting divorced, we didn't need to go through the courts and were able to settle our divorce without either of us paying a small fortune to lawyers and the courts to get everything straightened out.
I liked that they were there to help us reach a fair and reasonable settlement and that we didn't need to be at the coruthouse every week to get things settled. It was refreshing to be able to speak my mind about some of the things that I was looking for and I like that they stress peace in the process rather than what than taking everything a piece at a time. It's a more holistic approach to divorce that allows for some emotional healing along the way.
Though this is my second divorce, I wouldn't have aproached it any other way. Courts are too draining and being able to negotiate a fair divorce and settlement with mediation was a very good choice for us.
