I've had the experience of using multiple immigration lawyers in the last few months. Joel was BY FAR the most efficient, honest, and effective I've encountered. I recommend him to anyone looking to be properly taken care of in the quickest and most cost efficient manner. I'd give 10 stars but Joel will have to settle for 5 😁

Don’t let any of Carolyn’s so called credentials fool you. She is downright dirty and completely and utterly money hungry, at all costs to you and your child. I had her as an attorney in a very contentious and dangerous custody situation, and she absolutely never stood up for me or my very young child, and was more interested in taking advantage of me at my most vulnerable times when my son was being hurt, as well as trying to further her so called status within the courts by placating judges at every turn. Carolyn would literally bill me for hours, when I would call her while my child was being hurt and I was desperate for help. She would never actually offer any help but instead bill me for hours of time for calls while I was in dire need of help and then write petitions and bill me thousands more to do so. She overbilled me by 10s of thousands of dollars and my case went nowhere but south with her representation. My child has suffered immensely due to her disgusting greediness, and has had multiple diagnoses given the terrible situation he remained in for 2 years while she ‘mis’reaprsented me. It’s unreal that as a mother herself, she disgustingly chooses money over all else, and will never fight for you or your child. Disbar her.

On a professional level, Carolyn was always very thorough, would respond either via email or by phone promptly and was very proactive.. On a personal level, Carolyn would listen to my concerns and we would work together to address them. I consider her not only one of the most professional people I've been involved with but also a very caring &compassionate person who I have been very fortunate to have worked with for over 3 years.

Only giving 1 star because it’s needed to write a review. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON HIM!!!!!!! I had been TRYING to work with him for about 3 months for my mother’s estate, and he did absolutely NOTHING but waste my time. When family tensions happened, he advised me to call the police. State police laughed for even calling. Afterwards, Mr. Kline then ignored my emails for weeks until he found something else to discuss about and blamed “not knowing what else to do”. Just save yourself the trouble. The guy has no clue what he is doing, picks and chooses when he wants to work and if you don’t have a $200,000 price tag coming with ya, your not gonna be any type of a priority.

Greg has been a great attorney in my child custody case. He was easy to reach, and never rushed with his time. He was always available by phone and has great communication skills. My children were going through a hard time and Greg went out of his way to relate with them and ensure they were relaxed during the stressful process. Greg is awesome at his job. Would highly recommend! In fact, others have already hired him based on that high recommendation.

Dan Glasser isn't a good lawyer. I do NOT recommend him. He wasn't prepared for the trial. He yells at his own clients during the trial in front of everyone. He is very arrogant and thus isn't very effective lawyer. When you first talk to him, he presents himself as a very good lawyer but very soon you'll realize that it's just a show and in reality he isn't good.

We got an appointment with Mr. Glasser one week after I called. He was very thorough and told us what to expect as well as how we were going proceed. He took down all the information about the case and told us the cost of his retainer. Once he received the retainer, he got right on the case and everything was filed at courts within a week. He take such good care of their clients.

Dan Glasser is a ruthless and atrocious lawyer who seemingly (to me) does not consider the effects on a child in custody litigation. Some people like ruthless and atrocious - if so he is your man. I admire his intellect (his accounting background is valuable), and ability to act (thus 2 stars and not 1 star). But in the end, the ones that suffer are kids...and he (and probably his firm) do not consider the pain caused to kids in my personal opinion. If you care about your kids steer clear. He will pit parties against each other to make money despite the impact on your kids. Email me if you want.

Avoid this lawyer at all costs, she was appointed by the court to represent my child in a divorce case. Her perspective on the case was consistently out of line with both lawyers representing myself and now ex-spouse, our lawyers attempted to have her removed from the case. She was an obstacle to progress in the divorce, which dragged on for years and cost us each over $75K. Her behavior and demeanor were consistently unprofessional, she would react sarcastically to all parties and frequently could not keep the facts of the case straight. I had to check her credentials to be certain she was in fact a lawyer. Even a mediator, brought in to finally close the case, expressed frustration with her conduct. All would be better off if this lawyer worked at something else that didn't involve children, families or people.

I hired her for a divorce case. She was personal friends with the ex wife's lawyer and sided with the ex's lawyer, instead of representing me. She took my money and did not do anything to help me out. She even had me go to a court hearing, and when I showed up, nobody else was there. The hearing was canceled and she did not tell me. I missed a full day of work for nothing. She was more interested in helping her "personal friend lawyer", rather than helping the person she was supposed to be representing. She took my deposit money and asked for more, and did nothing.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD!!! I was referred to Feldman and Pinto by Flagger and Associates and truly wish I hadn't been! From the beginning, there was a clear LACK OF COMMUNICATION from ALL PARTIES of Feldman and Pinto. I continuously needed to reach out to schedule documents to be given to them, get updates I was promised, etc.! I was treated very rudely and unfairly!! They then wanted me to sign blank release forms for me and my son; OUTRIGHT REFUSING to even speak to me about WHO they would be requesting forms from, despite me mentioning that I might have additional people/agencies that could provide information. They also OUTRIGHT REFUSED TO ANSWER ANY OF MY QUESTIONS!! In addition to this, they wanted me to sign documents with FALSE INFORMATION ON IT, despite this being pointed out to them MULTIPLE TIMES!! I asked, and was REFUSED, a corrected copy to sign! I provided information to them in a timely manner; HOWEVER, THEY COULD NOT DO THE SAME EXCEPT TO DENY WORKING WITH ME!!! THEY OBVIOUSLY DID NOT WANT TO TAKE THE CASE!! I WILL HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER LAWYER TO HELP MY SON WHO WAS INJURED IN THE NICU!! DO NOT BRING YOUR CASE TO FELDMAN AND PINTO; YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU DO!!

What a Mediation Lawyer Can Do for You

A mediation lawyer specializes in resolving disputes outside of the courtroom through a process called mediation. Mediation involves a neutral third-party mediator who helps the disputing parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement. Mediation lawyers can represent clients in various matters, including divorce, business disputes, employment conflicts, contract issues, personal injury claims, and more.

Unlike litigation, mediation is a less adversarial and more cost-effective way to settle disputes, often leading to faster resolutions and preserving relationships between the parties involved.

When Should I Hire a Mediation Lawyer?

Consider hiring a mediation lawyer when you’re involved in a dispute and want to avoid the time, expense, and stress of going to court. Common reasons to hire a mediation lawyer include:

  • Divorce or child custody disputes: A mediation lawyer can help you reach a fair settlement on issues like property division, alimony, and parenting arrangements without going to court.
  • Business or contract disputes: For disagreements such as contract disputes, partnership conflicts, or intellectual property issues, a mediation lawyer can assist in resolving the matter through negotiation.
  • Employment disputes: Issues like wrongful termination, discrimination, or wage disputes can be addressed through mediation to find common ground and avoid lawsuits.
  • Personal injury cases: Mediation can help both parties agree on compensation in cases like car accidents or slip-and-fall claims without a prolonged court battle.
  • Property disputes: Disputes over property ownership, landlord-tenant issues, or boundary disagreements can be settled more amicably through mediation.
  • Family or inheritance disputes: Mediation can help resolve conflicts over wills or trusts without further dividing the family.

What Does a Mediation Lawyer Do?

A mediation lawyer provides a range of services to help clients resolve disputes through negotiation and mutual agreement. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Representing your interests: Acting as your advocate during mediation to ensure your rights are protected and you understand your legal options.
  • Preparing for mediation: Reviewing the facts of the case, gathering necessary documents, and advising you on potential resolutions.
  • Facilitating communication: Helping to facilitate open and constructive dialogue between parties to clarify points of contention.
  • Negotiating settlements: Assisting in negotiating fair and balanced settlement terms that are in your best interest.
  • Drafting mediation agreements: Preparing the official mediation agreement that outlines the terms of the settlement, which is often legally binding.
  • Avoiding litigation: Aiming to reach a settlement that eliminates the need for a court trial, saving time and resources for both parties.
  • Handling complex legal issues: Explaining the legal implications of various settlement terms in cases with complicated legal matters.

How Are Mediation Lawyers Paid?

Mediation lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the time involved. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Charging an hourly fee ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on experience and case complexity.
  • Flat fee: For simpler mediations, some lawyers may offer a flat fee covering all legal work involved in the process.
  • Retainer: In ongoing or complex cases, a retainer may be required as an upfront payment billed against as work progresses.

Discuss fees and payment structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand the cost of mediation services.

How Much Does a Mediation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a mediation lawyer depends on several factors, including the case's complexity, the lawyer’s experience, and the time required to resolve the dispute. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Typically between $150 and $500 per hour.
  • Flat fees: For simple mediations, fees may range from $1,000 to $5,000.
  • Total mediation costs: Can vary widely, from $2,000 to $10,000 for straightforward cases, up to $10,000 to $50,000 or more for complex disputes.

Always request a detailed cost estimate during your consultation to understand total expenses.

Top Questions to Ask a Mediation Lawyer

Before hiring a mediation lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with mediation cases like mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in handling similar disputes.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify the fee structure and request an estimate based on your specific case.
  3. What is the likelihood of resolving my case through mediation?
Seek an honest assessment of whether mediation is suitable for your situation.
  4. How long will the mediation process take?
Inquire about the expected timeline and number of sessions required.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
Confirm who will manage your mediation and represent your interests.
  6. Can we pursue alternative dispute resolution (ADR) if necessary?
Ask about other forms of ADR, such as arbitration, if mediation doesn't resolve the conflict.

How to Check the Credibility of a Mediation Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable mediation lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Verify their bar status: Confirm with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and has no disciplinary history.
  • Look for mediation experience: Review their website or professional profile for specialization in mediation and successful case histories.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google for client feedback.
  • Ask for references: Request references from past clients familiar with their mediation skills.
  • Check for certifications: Look for certifications from organizations like the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR).

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To maximize the effectiveness of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Relevant documents: Any materials related to the dispute, such as contracts, emails, financial records, or court filings.
  • List of key issues: A detailed list of the main points of contention that need resolution.
  • Timeline of events: A chronological account of events leading up to the dispute, including prior resolution attempts.
  • Goals for the mediation: Be prepared to discuss your desired outcomes and areas where you're willing to compromise.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Any queries about the mediation process, fees, or their approach to dispute resolution.

Being well-prepared will help the lawyer assess your case effectively and provide the best possible advice for resolving your dispute through mediation.
