Jason helped me with a car accident claim. I'm so glad I went to him for help! Jason was recommended to me by a lawyer friend. My lawyer friend said he hadn't been able to win against Jason in a similar case; that seemed a good recommendation to me! Jason was thorough and he listened—smartly and kindly. He did not give up. And he helped me understand how the legal system works. I always felt like he had time for my questions, and he answered them clearly. Car accidents and the subsequent pain (and pain meds) can make you emotional and a little fuzzy; Jason was patient with that, too. Although my case was probably small compared to his other cases, I felt like he treated my case just as he treated the rest. Jason is intelligent, strategy-savvy, and he really connects with people genuinely. He prepared and he came through for me. I highly recommend him.

I had been in a car accident that resulted in surgery and was overwhelmed at the thought of going through the claims process on my own. Jason stepped in to handle my case, much to my relief. He is very knowledgeable in personal injury matters, knows the ins and outs of the system, and negotiated a very favorable settlement for me.

I owned a piece of property that I bought when I was young and the taxes on the land were killing me...paying more than the property was worth. I owed a substantial amount in back taxes and sought the help of Sally. She made several calls and straightened the entire mess out. Sally has a great disposition, is very approachable and possesses an excellent knowledge of law. One of the few people in the world that still takes notes with a fountain pen! She listens to you and give great advice, she was a joy to work with. I would highly recommend her to anyone with family law issues.

I used Ms. Lanham to help me through a very difficult divorce. I sufered a brain aneurysm in 2003, and as I result of my brain injury, I can not transfer memories from short term to long term memory. I tried two other attorneys before I found Sally. She was very responsive, knowledgeable and did not mind the same questions time after time. She kept focused (and kept me focused) on the task at hand. She anticipated every move made by my x-wife. I still occasionally rely on Ms. Lanham to help me through issues with the x-wife. I highly recommend Sally!

I have had the privilege of working with Lori as my attorney since 2005. She handled a major matter for me that concluded several years ago, and she has overseen other matters I have had with her firm as well. The expertise and knowledge Lori provides to her clients is distinctive, and in my opinion, incomparable in the current legal/financial market. Lori’s integrity speaks to the person she is to her family, her friends, her colleagues and especially to her clients. It is never “business as usual” with her. She is personally involved with all aspects of her client’s cases assuring they receive dedicated customer service and quality, comprehensive representation. Working creatively and with efficiency is Lori’s trademark. She is a knowledgeable and effective negotiator. Her ability to listen is key to her leadership both within and outside of her office. She delivers the best outcome because she is willing to consider other individuals’ priorities, concerns and suggestions. Respect from and collaboration with varied industry experts – financial planners, business management experts, investment firms, accountants, expert witnesses, etc. – are keys to Lori’s success. However, it is Lori’s unique ability and personal hard work that effectively uses the information provided by these individuals to create a strategy that meets even the most challenging of situations. Her resourcefulness in finding the most appropriate expert for each circumstance assures not only a quality outcome, but effective cost control on behalf of her client. Lori has been invaluable to me in both my professional and personal life. She has been able to assist me numerous times in negotiating through the complexity associated with an ever changing legal environment. For me, working with Lori is not the best choice I could make… it is the ONLY choice for me to make.

Lori’s a little more expensive than some divorce attorneys ($375/hr), but well worth it. I’ve often found that lawyers who cost more per hour, end up costing a lot less in the end. She’s one of those. Over the course of several contested divorces and custody battles, I’ve used 5 different divorce attorneys and Lori’s by far the most effective at getting what's fair and moving you past what's likely to be the most difficult period of your life. I was referred to Lori by high-powered women in the Seattle investment community. They represent many high-net-worth individuals and were concerned about me. They had watched too many of their customers, both male (like me) and female, get decimated as the result of poor legal representation. I like Lori for many reasons, especially because she’s one of the creators of a small new movement in family law call “collaborative divorce”. The purpose of this practice is to do the deal ... get the divorce over with ASAP … for the sake of the children (especially) as well as the adults. Lori doesn’t believe in profiting by empowering her client to believe he/she is in the right when they’re not. That does nothing but extend the painful, destructive divorce process interminably ... at the expense of the client's emotions and cash. Knowing her reputation as a powerful peacemaker, I invited Lori to criticize any demand I felt like making that was unreasonable in her eyes. She did so in a compassionate way. She headed off behavior on my part that wasn’t conducive to settlement by explaining _why_ certain details of my approach wouldn’t work best. She sometimes based her opinions on experience and sometimes on a description of how I would be perceived if I didn’t change myself for the better — i.e. it's usually not a good idea to place fault in a divorce -- you chose him/her afterall, and both parties are hurting no matter how it appears. In my mind, I learned that the only fault in the process is when a client hangs on to anger, blame and revengeful thinking — thinking that many other divorce attorneys simply encourage. And yet, Lori also fights like hell for you in a compelling and effective way, at just the right moments and by picking the most important points to get out of the way first. She’ll do what it takes even if she has to get down into the trenches to become your warrior. She’s busy so I’d suggest getting on her calendar soon.

Amsale Aberra law PLLC is one of the best law firm in Seattle . In 2019 I had a very tough immigration case and I hired another law firm and it didn’t go well, I spend more than 3k and finally my case got denied due to the lawyer’s irresponsible action. A few months later a friends of mine suggested to contact Amsale’s law firm. She was very kind, positive , thoughtful and a good listener. She listened the entire issue with the previous law firm, and what surprised me was her focus to resolve the problem instead of nailing down. After a brief discussion and consultation, I hired her to represent me the same case which I got denied previously. It took her shorter time comparing with the previous lawyer and successfully won my case. Not only that, through the entire process of my case with Amsale I was getting an update based on the information timeframe of each steps from immigration office. The best part of her consultation, if she thinks your case doesn’t worse to continue, she doesn’t wanna waste your money! This is how she does business ! I will always refer to Amsale law firm for friend and family because she is trustworthy!

I originally hired Sean because a plumbing company had caused structural damages to floor joists during a renovation and they would not accept responsibility. What happened instead was Sean transferred me to Joe and the lawsuit lasted 2 1/2 years. We ended up going to arbitration and I won all damages but zero lawyers fees. Incredibly frustrating experience. I wouldn’t hire nor recommend them. I regret hiring Sean and Joe.

Kathleen took the conflict out of our high conflict divorce. After a ten month stalemate, she helped us reach an agreement in just four hours with effective shuttle mediation. Kathleen has the perfect combination of warmth and intelligence that allowed me to relax and think clearly. I am very satisfied with the agreement because I know she understood what was most important to me. I felt respected and heard. Her focus on the numbers made it easy to set the emotions aside and get the job done.

Kathleen Royer mediated between my co parent and I. She is a nice lady whom obviously has a lot of experience in the legal system. She understood the legal system well and could it explain it well. However, she did very little "mediating" of core issues that stood between us. It seemed like she was more of just a 3rd party messenger between our two rooms. I got the feeling that her goal wasn't true mediation, but just to get us two to an acceptable level in the eyes of the law, by having us agree on typical and standard arrangements. She asked me to pick my battles, but would not acknowledge that the other party was not playing nice. By legal definition, she did her job. But I wouldn't expect her to sooth or heal any wounds that exist between parties.

It was great working with Ms. Amy Jones. I explained about my accident and injury at first in my primitive English, she was very sympathetic and really feeling for me. I just left all to her, didn’t have to do anything. She explained very well at each step of how my case was taken care of and proceeded.I can see she is very trustful and detail oriented. This is the second time I hired a lawyer for a car accident. She worked very hard for my settlement and the result was outstanding and I could not believe what I heard. I am very lucky that I was introduced to her by my chiropractitioner. I felt finally released from anxiety for future and resentment that I got from the accident. Thank you so much, Amy and Herman Law Group! I definitely recommend them as the prestigious law firm in WA since 1950

I contacted Zuanich Law about 22 months ago to get my gun rights back. We covered all the pertinent information they needed to start the case. I paid the retainer and left them to do what they needed to do without my interruptions. After several months I hadn’t heard anything, I was worried so I contacted them to see what the progress was. They filed a motion in my county, it was review and denied as there was a law change prior to their filing. Brian Zuanich talked to me in depth about refiling in Pierce County as that is where my initial felony was signed. Again I left them alone to file the motions and hoping this would happen. Again several months later, I was thinking this was a lost cause then I received an email from their office telling me that the Courts signed the motion to restore the right to own and possess a firearm in Washington State. Yeah!! I was really surprised and happy. It took longer than I thought it would but they stayed the course. There were other options I could have taken if this motion was denied as well but Brian Zuanich knew what he needed to do and how to move forward. That’s the important thing with you hire an attorney, make sure they know the system for the type of law you need to have help with. Yes, I am very satisfied with their office and will recommend them everytime!

Mister Brian Zuanich and his paralegal Kristy were an integral part of my civil rights restoration. Without sharing too many personal details of my case, I can say I had a rather unique complication with my process involving a move between Washington and Oregon that the Zuanich team were able to help me navigate and understand. Legalities between states and documents from one state to another are not always equal. For myself, and most others I'd wager, these are complicated matters and were something that I personally wasn't too knowledgeable of. The Zuanich law team, however, clearly laid out what options I could take and, after choosing what to do, along the way ensured to keep me informed and give me a clear understanding of what needed to be done, as well as what parts I could do to make things smoother in the process. Their know-how in what needed to be done got the matter resolved. I would recommend their services to anyone attempting to restore their civil / firearm rights in Washington or Oregon.

I wanted to share that the experience I had with the view ridge law- more specifiacally with the attorny Elaina T. was far from well. I had to end my session with her early and request my money back. I paid her to help me and instead she spent time telling me why I couldnt get what I wanted and defending the other party. I also found out she did not read all the paperwork I sent in which she claimed was irrelevant to the case which was entirely unture. I was shocked at the lack of professionalism and care that was given to me. Our meeting was not recorded so I was not able to prove that way she was speaking to me to her superiors. The only positive that came from this was that the office did refund me my money. I lost out on a very timely situation due to their lack of attention.

This company was retained to assist someone trying to steal my land. They clearly have a losing case. This firm has delayed every email and settlement offer presented to them. They takes weeks or months to respond to calls and emails if at all. It is clear they are doing this to delay the process to rack fees for their clients. Read all the horrible reviews about this firm online and how they treat their own clients and opposing counsel offering them more than generous settlements. We have 7 attorneys and have never experienced this kind of unprofessionalism. Even our property insirance company and the firm retained said this is the most unprofessional communication ever. All they have to do is agree to a settlement but they delay the process to rack of trial fees and do not communicate with clients or opposing counsel. Read all the horrible reviews before hiring these people.

I retained their services for help with business contracts, and business partner discussions. They were extremely prompt, thorough, and helped me succeed with positive outcomes. I first worked with Imants, then mostly with Phil Neale. Phil was very easy to get a hold of, and constantly updated me on progress. Every time I called in, he either answered the call right away, or called back very shortly afterwards. Highly recommend, and we will retain their services when needed again in the future!

Expensive and they were more concerned in banking then helping. They kept on arguing with opposing council after I asked them to stop. They were concerned with making money and were completely oblivious to the techniques the opposing council was using to cause me harm. I could say a lot more but in brief do not recommend.

Absolutely HORRIBLE representation!!!! More worried about billing every 3 days to the tune of thousands of dollars than representing their clients and helping them get a satisfactory result. Spent tens of thousands of dollars to actually be in a worse position. I was promised the world and delivered nothing!!! Do yourself a favor!!! RUN!! Find other representation, they are atrocious!! Dont' use this office and definetaly don't use Garrett Filetti. Zero communication. Zero concern with what the client wants. Grossly inept altogether! You will be left with way less money and zero results..... but you better believe that everyone at Elise Buie Family Law is getting paid!!!!$$$$$!!!!! Crooks!!

Sean is a fabulous Attorney. Compassionate, serious about making the wrongs that others do or did to her clients right. She is smart, capable, classy in both her interactions with clients and other Attorneys, she responds in a timely fashion and never dropped the ball or let anything slip past her with my case. I am 110% confident that my case was in the very best of hands. Being terminated in any situation is stressful, but when a disability is added to that frustration, it can be extremely overwhelming. Sean guided me through the entire process with a sense of calm reassurance that kept me held together and able to move forward in a logical fashion. At no point did I have a fragment of a doubt that anything she said or suggested was not correct. After our first in person meeting, I knew that she was the right person to entrust with my case. I do not know what I would have done without her. I was referred to her by another Attorney, and I will always be grateful for that referral. Thank you Sean for successfully solving all issues surrounding my case and for the heartfelt compassion and poise. The world needs more Attorneys like you.

Simply stated Sean Phelan has demonstrated to me that possesses unmatched competence, mastery of and superior knowledge regarding employment law. Further, in addition to her professional qualifications, experience and skill, Sean showed me and my family kindness and compassion. My employer was arbitrarily terminating me at the same time my wife and I were dealing with her terminal illness. Sean not only secured fair terms for separation from employment but she also ensured that all compensation due to me was paid. I can not understate my complete endorsement of Sean as an attorney and a kind and compassionate professional. Thank you Sean!!

Mardi is kind, compassionate and competent. I have recommended her to others, but my only concern is that she was often slow in responding. I'm not sure if the problem was my Type A personality or if this is normal for a solo practitioner. (I've only worked previously with non-solo attorneys on will/trust issues , but all responded more quickly on questions and tasks.)

While out of the country with my children, my husband of 24 years packed up and finalized his strategically planned “escape.” I was served on 12/31/2018 and was connected with Krista Stipe that day! Not only was she professional and a great listener, but kind and patient as the worst time in my life unfolded. I was dealing with deceit and intimidation and my daughters were struggling. Krista guided me through the entire divorce process while advocating and protecting me against my ex-husband and his various attorneys which were regularly hired and fired. Krista always kept me up to date on the status and informed me of fees due to opposing counsel’s need to be briefed and when dealing with their client’s demands and delays. The challenges were excruciating, but Krista reminded me that when this was over, I would know we handled this ethically and my daughters would be proud. She was absolutely correct! In addition, due to Krista’s experience, she knew I could not depend on my ex-husband for maintenance, insurance, etc. After the second mediation, Krista’s negotiation skills set me up to walk away and create a new life filled with happiness, confidence and my head held high. If you want to be represented by an amazing lawyer that possesses superior intelligence, strong analytical and advocacy skills, and CAN and DOES communicate effectively, you need Krista!

Krista was my lawyer in a family law matter. I found her to be friendly to my face, sickeningly passive aggressive via email and somewhat knowledgeable on family law matters. Please keep this in mind when considering hiring Krista as your lawyer: half-way through my trial, when Krista realized she was up against a formidable attorney who would do almost anything for her client (including bending the truth), Krista decided to go on vacation. I begged her not to leave but she was adamant. I was left with a runner up attorney (half a star?) who had not been to trial in years and had to be schooled on protocol and procedure.

Krista came on board my team as we learned that trial was going to be needed in my case. A prospect I wanted to avoid, but was necessary. From day one, she showed how her experience in trial preparation was a strength for her. In a time of doubt for me, she conveyed confidence, had absorbed the merits and details of my case quickly, and laid out a strategy that was a great balance of advising and collaborating. I didn't know this world, but her approach made me feel inclusive of the decisions and her time taken to explain things made me comfortable with the decisions I was making. There is an art to this, I've learned, a balance of guiding and listening, and Krista is able to strike that balance with ease. My case took more than a few twists and turns, and while I am sure everyone may feel that, even as it was happening I felt confident in my understanding of where we were and the decision that lay before us. More so, I felt confident in the steps we were taking and our preparation for trial. We were doing things the right way and setting the table so that as trial approached, we were well positioned. Tons of time and effort goes into this, but with Krista I knew that time was being used efficiently. She understood my position, both legally and financially, and found a path forward that I could believe in. What made this so exceptional and beyond expectations was her belief in me. Then we went to trial. All of the feedback provided before is echoed and really should be reinforced or amplified. In trial, things move fast, tactics by opposing counsel change or come to light, and the time to react and be prepared is short....but I never felt that way with Krista. She's sharp, quick, and experienced and her ability to think a few steps ahead made this so much better. I didn't feel surprised, even though the script was non-traditional, to say the last. We knew what we were doing. While that doesn't guarantee any outcome, it sure make you feel better about things that are highly stressful and moving very quickly. But what needs to be emphasized, beyond all the guidance Krista provided to me throughout was her dedication, her passion, and and her belief in my case. Seeing Krista in action in court, quickly assessing the situation, making the right decisions, being so prepared to accommodate changes to the flow of the case, incorporate new information, ready to adapt; truly amazing. She put in the work, and poured more than that into it. I couldn't not have been more proud of her preparation and her passion as the case came to a close. It was awe-inspiring, and made me so grateful to have her on my team. When the ruling came through with even better results than hoped, I know that so much of that is due to the whole Integrative Law team (the crew is beyond awesome), but Krista was completely spectacular. I would recommend her to anyone, and am so grateful to have had her counsel, her belief, her dedication, and her passion on my side in court. She just knocked it out of the park and I can't say enough about it.

What a Mediation Lawyer Can Do for You

A mediation lawyer specializes in resolving disputes outside of the courtroom through a process called mediation. Mediation involves a neutral third-party mediator who helps the disputing parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement. Mediation lawyers can represent clients in various matters, including divorce, business disputes, employment conflicts, contract issues, personal injury claims, and more.

Unlike litigation, mediation is a less adversarial and more cost-effective way to settle disputes, often leading to faster resolutions and preserving relationships between the parties involved.

When Should I Hire a Mediation Lawyer?

Consider hiring a mediation lawyer when you’re involved in a dispute and want to avoid the time, expense, and stress of going to court. Common reasons to hire a mediation lawyer include:

  • Divorce or child custody disputes: A mediation lawyer can help you reach a fair settlement on issues like property division, alimony, and parenting arrangements without going to court.
  • Business or contract disputes: For disagreements such as contract disputes, partnership conflicts, or intellectual property issues, a mediation lawyer can assist in resolving the matter through negotiation.
  • Employment disputes: Issues like wrongful termination, discrimination, or wage disputes can be addressed through mediation to find common ground and avoid lawsuits.
  • Personal injury cases: Mediation can help both parties agree on compensation in cases like car accidents or slip-and-fall claims without a prolonged court battle.
  • Property disputes: Disputes over property ownership, landlord-tenant issues, or boundary disagreements can be settled more amicably through mediation.
  • Family or inheritance disputes: Mediation can help resolve conflicts over wills or trusts without further dividing the family.

What Does a Mediation Lawyer Do?

A mediation lawyer provides a range of services to help clients resolve disputes through negotiation and mutual agreement. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Representing your interests: Acting as your advocate during mediation to ensure your rights are protected and you understand your legal options.
  • Preparing for mediation: Reviewing the facts of the case, gathering necessary documents, and advising you on potential resolutions.
  • Facilitating communication: Helping to facilitate open and constructive dialogue between parties to clarify points of contention.
  • Negotiating settlements: Assisting in negotiating fair and balanced settlement terms that are in your best interest.
  • Drafting mediation agreements: Preparing the official mediation agreement that outlines the terms of the settlement, which is often legally binding.
  • Avoiding litigation: Aiming to reach a settlement that eliminates the need for a court trial, saving time and resources for both parties.
  • Handling complex legal issues: Explaining the legal implications of various settlement terms in cases with complicated legal matters.

How Are Mediation Lawyers Paid?

Mediation lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the time involved. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Charging an hourly fee ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on experience and case complexity.
  • Flat fee: For simpler mediations, some lawyers may offer a flat fee covering all legal work involved in the process.
  • Retainer: In ongoing or complex cases, a retainer may be required as an upfront payment billed against as work progresses.

Discuss fees and payment structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand the cost of mediation services.

How Much Does a Mediation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a mediation lawyer depends on several factors, including the case's complexity, the lawyer’s experience, and the time required to resolve the dispute. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Typically between $150 and $500 per hour.
  • Flat fees: For simple mediations, fees may range from $1,000 to $5,000.
  • Total mediation costs: Can vary widely, from $2,000 to $10,000 for straightforward cases, up to $10,000 to $50,000 or more for complex disputes.

Always request a detailed cost estimate during your consultation to understand total expenses.

Top Questions to Ask a Mediation Lawyer

Before hiring a mediation lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with mediation cases like mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in handling similar disputes.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify the fee structure and request an estimate based on your specific case.
  3. What is the likelihood of resolving my case through mediation?
Seek an honest assessment of whether mediation is suitable for your situation.
  4. How long will the mediation process take?
Inquire about the expected timeline and number of sessions required.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
Confirm who will manage your mediation and represent your interests.
  6. Can we pursue alternative dispute resolution (ADR) if necessary?
Ask about other forms of ADR, such as arbitration, if mediation doesn't resolve the conflict.

How to Check the Credibility of a Mediation Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable mediation lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Verify their bar status: Confirm with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and has no disciplinary history.
  • Look for mediation experience: Review their website or professional profile for specialization in mediation and successful case histories.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google for client feedback.
  • Ask for references: Request references from past clients familiar with their mediation skills.
  • Check for certifications: Look for certifications from organizations like the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR).

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To maximize the effectiveness of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Relevant documents: Any materials related to the dispute, such as contracts, emails, financial records, or court filings.
  • List of key issues: A detailed list of the main points of contention that need resolution.
  • Timeline of events: A chronological account of events leading up to the dispute, including prior resolution attempts.
  • Goals for the mediation: Be prepared to discuss your desired outcomes and areas where you're willing to compromise.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Any queries about the mediation process, fees, or their approach to dispute resolution.

Being well-prepared will help the lawyer assess your case effectively and provide the best possible advice for resolving your dispute through mediation.
