Tajara was the third and worst attorney I have had to hire! Only ten grand for retainer to hire and that money was gone in no time with her other associates all getting there hands in the pot! Not to mention monthly billing statements have different hourly rates for the same people each month! I never even got to meet with Tajara face to face, or even see how she does in front of Judge an opposing counsel. Lastly, I’ve been fighting for custody(50/50 Placement) of my first born daughter for ten years. Now, after having at least 75/25 placement up until hiring Tajara who managed to get my placement taken away from me and then Tajara decided to file for withdrawal of counsel since she got what she wanted and left me broke and without my daughter!! Don’t hire for your own sake!

Tajara and her staff, including her daughter and her paralegal Jennifer were very, very patient with my total ignorance in this divorce and anything else to help me move ford in this devastating time in my life. If it came to a questionable subject, Tajara took the time and initiative to find the legal answer. She is ruthless and will not back down unless the client insists. She and her staff are very down to earth and very easy to speak with. Do not be afraid to ask questions and make sure you record the answers for your own history to save time and money. Speaking of money, they are very fair with what they charge and do not charge for. Besides losing my wife of 35 years, Tajara and her team made me feel at ease which I felt was super important. Do I even have to say how much I recommend her?

Attorney Dickey was the attorney on behalf of my son and myself in a very stressful and financial ruin for both of us. His professionalism, knowledge and compassion he had towards us the entire time we were working with him proved to us that there would be no other Attorney we would have wanted to help with this lawsuit. His hard work and dedication to not only our insurance company but to my son and myself showed volumes on not only who is as an Attorney but as a person as well! I would highly recommend Attorney Dickey and his Law Firm to anyone I know in the future. There are not enough stars to show our gratitude to him and his staff. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, keep being who you are because that's what makes you an outstanding person! Stacey and Taylor.

As a guardian ad litem he does a poor job of advocating for the children within the family system and not assigning his own set of morals and values to the case. He did an excellent job of perpetuating my abuse within the legal system. It was obvious he is not trained in trauma informed practice, nor child development. Once Atty Alioto was involved in my divorce case a good old boys' club of misogynists formed to vilify me for my sexual identity. It is my firm belief that atty Alioto should not be acting as a guardian ad litem.

Cheryl Gemignani's mediation tactics were a complete failure for my case. Her element of surprise was more of a temporary stun. We thought we had an agreement only to have it backfire the next day when my wife had time to think more about it. We could have had much greater success knowing and preparing for the other's position prior to mediation. Thousands of dollars were wasted. We now sit 3 months later with no progress.

Gricel was my lawyer for my divorce. I am so grateful to have had her help me, I had met with other lawyers but they didn't understand how to handle international divorce. Gricel had tons of experience with international clients and was very honest and effective in court. She explained everything to me, helped me to prioritize what I wanted in the divorce and understand what I could reasonably expect from the judge. We were able to come to an agreement on our home and other important items and Gricel fought to help me have full time with my children. She understood what I was going through, was sympathetic and very professional. Gricel went through all the questions she anticipated which made the actual court less intimidating. She was efficient and didn't waste a lot of lawyer time making a huge bill like my friends have had happen to them. I hope you do not have a divorce, but if you have one you should hire Gricel. I highly recommend her for any divorce or child support case especially if there are international issues.

Dennis came highly recommended. After my initial meeting with him, I had a good feeling about him, however boy was I taken for it. He did not fight for me, made deals that I didn't agree to, etc. Unfortunately, I trusted him and he told me that was the way it was. After the issue was over, I talked with several other divorce attorneys who told me things that should have been done, that were not or how to handle things differently. This is not sour grapes. The man did nothing he said he was going to do in the initial meeting. When I asked him about it, he just threatened and said you are going to lose. The biggest waste of a lot of money and my child will now suffer the ramifications of his ineptitude

Dennis is an amazing attorney!!! He is honest, fair, and trustworthy. He gives it to you straight, does not get your hopes up, does not count his chickens before they are hatched, and is an all around good man. He does what's best for his clients. He gives amazing advice and thinks things through first. He always seems to be one step ahead. His secretary Joan is amazing and attentive as well. Both pay close attention to detail. This lawyer only follows her own beliefs, and wants money. Rather than what is really best for the child, she instantly assums 50/50 is best for a child without considering the history over the last three years as my child continues to be taken care of by someone else rather than my sons other parent. Now my child is sick constantly from smoke and who knows what else. I would never recommend this "guardian" EVER... she was guardian for my kids since 2022 and did absolutely nothing for them. Didn't have a recommendation until the day of court, said she was only give my ex every other weekend, than last minute threw in once a week once a month during summer. My ex is an addict, controlling, manipulative, narcissistic, frantic lunatic, who does nothing but put our kids in the middle, question them until they give him something and can't get past anything. This "guardian" is no guardian.. she shouldn't have the job she has. She should be flipping burgers at McDonald's. She wasn't there for my kids. Nor did she do anything positive for my children. She has known my ex since he was 5. That should of been conflict of interest. She gave him more than he deserves, now I will spend forever in fear of my kids while in his care because this women didn't do her job..

I can't say much for the PD case reviews, but as a family law attorney Genelle is exceptional. Her knowledge of parental rights and custody are on point. She will not blindly take her clients side as other attornies do (and waste your money and motions), and provides her client "the whole picture" of possibilities and options. She is reasonable, fair, and always has gotten back to me about my questions. We won our child custody case, had child support adjusted, and have all of our co-parenting issues nearly ironed out. If you have any cases regarding your child, Genelle is the one to go to. She fights for whats in the child's best interest.

I hire ms. Bailey because I have reason to believe that my employer was discriminating against me for using FMLA leave and still believe so. I was Charged $300 just for the consultation. I was told I had to make an immediate decision as to weather or not to hire her. I was told I would not be Charged for such insignificant things as reading emails or phone calls, And that I could make payments of $100 a month for up to a Year.I was charged $1000 for a 3 page form letter to my employer. Like that really took hours? Then They started to charge me by the 10th of an hour for every little correspondence exactly what she said she would not do. $30 to read a 3 sentence Email? $118 for 10 minute phone call $29.50 to save and forward a file That took 3 or4 clicks of the mouse button. $29.50 for for a 1.5 minute phone call. $29.50 for another 2 sentence email. and on and on more worried about squeezing every dollar they could out me than representing me, to the point that I could no longer continue with a viable case. To make matters worse it seams that $100 a month payments that she said would be fine was not. Nola Cross Law firm began to immediately harass for the entire amount. Which had ballooned to almost $2000. Well I got things payed down to $454 dollars when I get a notice from collection associates saying I owe $720 .What kind of math is that! So now I have to File a complaint with the state bar and file for arbitration. So take my advice and never trust your employment concerns to The Cross Law firm or Danielle Bailey. They are only in it for the money and do not care about the client!

At the one meeting I called to find out her status since I hadn't heard back from her, it was clear she hadn't looked at my documents and then tried to share that I hadn't sent them all over, despite her emailing me earlier to say that she had gotten them. My dad and I had some issues we wanted to resolve. We hired Michael to assist us. I sent him a list of things I wanted to address, and after our 3 hour call, he ended up sending us his decision via email. I felt like none of my issues I asked him to address were even discussed in the email, and furthermore, it seemed like he pretended I didn't even ask those. I called him up to inquire about that, and right away he said that we would have to pay him more money and then hung up. Michael was of no use for us, we wasted our money and time. Michael seems like the kind of lawyer that just wants to take your money and not really provide any value, I recommend you find someone else.

What a Mediation Lawyer Can Do for You

A mediation lawyer specializes in resolving disputes outside of the courtroom through a process called mediation. Mediation involves a neutral third-party mediator who helps the disputing parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement. Mediation lawyers can represent clients in various matters, including divorce, business disputes, employment conflicts, contract issues, personal injury claims, and more.

Unlike litigation, mediation is a less adversarial and more cost-effective way to settle disputes, often leading to faster resolutions and preserving relationships between the parties involved.

When Should I Hire a Mediation Lawyer?

Consider hiring a mediation lawyer when you’re involved in a dispute and want to avoid the time, expense, and stress of going to court. Common reasons to hire a mediation lawyer include:

  • Divorce or child custody disputes: A mediation lawyer can help you reach a fair settlement on issues like property division, alimony, and parenting arrangements without going to court.
  • Business or contract disputes: For disagreements such as contract disputes, partnership conflicts, or intellectual property issues, a mediation lawyer can assist in resolving the matter through negotiation.
  • Employment disputes: Issues like wrongful termination, discrimination, or wage disputes can be addressed through mediation to find common ground and avoid lawsuits.
  • Personal injury cases: Mediation can help both parties agree on compensation in cases like car accidents or slip-and-fall claims without a prolonged court battle.
  • Property disputes: Disputes over property ownership, landlord-tenant issues, or boundary disagreements can be settled more amicably through mediation.
  • Family or inheritance disputes: Mediation can help resolve conflicts over wills or trusts without further dividing the family.

What Does a Mediation Lawyer Do?

A mediation lawyer provides a range of services to help clients resolve disputes through negotiation and mutual agreement. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Representing your interests: Acting as your advocate during mediation to ensure your rights are protected and you understand your legal options.
  • Preparing for mediation: Reviewing the facts of the case, gathering necessary documents, and advising you on potential resolutions.
  • Facilitating communication: Helping to facilitate open and constructive dialogue between parties to clarify points of contention.
  • Negotiating settlements: Assisting in negotiating fair and balanced settlement terms that are in your best interest.
  • Drafting mediation agreements: Preparing the official mediation agreement that outlines the terms of the settlement, which is often legally binding.
  • Avoiding litigation: Aiming to reach a settlement that eliminates the need for a court trial, saving time and resources for both parties.
  • Handling complex legal issues: Explaining the legal implications of various settlement terms in cases with complicated legal matters.

How Are Mediation Lawyers Paid?

Mediation lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the time involved. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Charging an hourly fee ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on experience and case complexity.
  • Flat fee: For simpler mediations, some lawyers may offer a flat fee covering all legal work involved in the process.
  • Retainer: In ongoing or complex cases, a retainer may be required as an upfront payment billed against as work progresses.

Discuss fees and payment structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand the cost of mediation services.

How Much Does a Mediation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a mediation lawyer depends on several factors, including the case's complexity, the lawyer’s experience, and the time required to resolve the dispute. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Typically between $150 and $500 per hour.
  • Flat fees: For simple mediations, fees may range from $1,000 to $5,000.
  • Total mediation costs: Can vary widely, from $2,000 to $10,000 for straightforward cases, up to $10,000 to $50,000 or more for complex disputes.

Always request a detailed cost estimate during your consultation to understand total expenses.

Top Questions to Ask a Mediation Lawyer

Before hiring a mediation lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with mediation cases like mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in handling similar disputes.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify the fee structure and request an estimate based on your specific case.
  3. What is the likelihood of resolving my case through mediation?
Seek an honest assessment of whether mediation is suitable for your situation.
  4. How long will the mediation process take?
Inquire about the expected timeline and number of sessions required.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
Confirm who will manage your mediation and represent your interests.
  6. Can we pursue alternative dispute resolution (ADR) if necessary?
Ask about other forms of ADR, such as arbitration, if mediation doesn't resolve the conflict.

How to Check the Credibility of a Mediation Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable mediation lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Verify their bar status: Confirm with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and has no disciplinary history.
  • Look for mediation experience: Review their website or professional profile for specialization in mediation and successful case histories.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google for client feedback.
  • Ask for references: Request references from past clients familiar with their mediation skills.
  • Check for certifications: Look for certifications from organizations like the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR).

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To maximize the effectiveness of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Relevant documents: Any materials related to the dispute, such as contracts, emails, financial records, or court filings.
  • List of key issues: A detailed list of the main points of contention that need resolution.
  • Timeline of events: A chronological account of events leading up to the dispute, including prior resolution attempts.
  • Goals for the mediation: Be prepared to discuss your desired outcomes and areas where you're willing to compromise.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Any queries about the mediation process, fees, or their approach to dispute resolution.

Being well-prepared will help the lawyer assess your case effectively and provide the best possible advice for resolving your dispute through mediation.
