We first contacted Peter when we started our medical malpractice journey almost five years ago shortly after the surgery accident happened. He and his paralegal assistant Kim expertly guided us through the long judicial process , handling not only the complex legal issues but all of the roller-coaster emotional ones as well. It became quite evident that we made a great lawyer choice when we witnessed all of the other lawyers during depositions. Peter was clearly head and shoulders above the rest - he was always well prepared, having completely researched all of the medical procedures and surgical tool nuances so that he knew exactly what questions to ask the witnesses. He always remained calm, courteous and professional when questioning them, and left no stone unturned. When we became frustrated with the slow process, which dragged on for years (partly due to being in the midst of Covid), he always listened patiently to our concerns, responded in a way we understood, and never pressured us one way or the other - decisions were always, in the end, left up to us (although he clearly gave us his own recommendations). He and Kim were "our team", and we knew we could always contact them if we had questions or issues. I was recently a defendant in a civil law suit which lasted for a total of three years. I say total because the plaintiff and his attorney dropped their original suit after two years and then refiled a second suit within days. I was out of money after a two year defense by a major law firm in New London CT and they saw this as the perfect opportunity and time to let me go suggesting I seek other representation. Facing a new lawsuit and without an attorney I thankfully found Peter Bartinik of the Bartinik Law Firm. Our first conversation was by phone and he had many questions. He also knew I had no savings left as this was the very first thing that I told him. Our second conversation took place at his office where we spend about two hours discussing my case and a plan to move forward. I was grateful that he took my case knowing I could not immediately pay him more than a small retainer. This lawsuit at times could be very confusing as well as emotional for me and Peter would always take the time to be sure that I completely understood what was happening with my case as well as to keep me emotionally grounded. If I called him with a question or concern and he couldn't at that moment take my call he would get back to me in no time at all. He did so much to keep me free from worry and to get me through the final year of a long drawn out mess intact and in my home which was what the lawsuit was all about. This case never went to trial and was settled out of the courtroom. Before the settlement I was facing the possibility of having to lose and leave my home. I now had my home but owed money to Peters' firm and he provided me with a payment plan that I could afford. Attorney Katz was engaged by our family to handle a very unique situation involving the burial of my father and mother in a local cemetery. Our father died first, and his cremated remains were buried at the cemetery and a headstone placed at the cemetery's direction.
When our mother died, she was supposed to be buried with my father’s urn. But the cemetery buried her in the wrong plot, and could not find my father’s urn. Eventually the cemetery moved her to the correct plot, but my father’s urn was still missing. The cemetery company told us, “We believe we have filled all of our obligations.” Attorney Katz then filed suit on our behalf. Ultimately, through his efforts, my father’s cremains were found, we had a proper funeral and received a settlement in compensation for all that our family had been put through.
At all times Attorney Jonathan Katz was reachable by the family and he worked tenaciously to get this matter resolved.

I was involved in an MVA with a tractor trailer while working that resulted in totaling my vehicle and requiring three back surgeries and missing months from work. The worker’s compensation company believed that since they felt I was not at fault kept pushing me to help them recover their monies that had been paid out for medical payments and wages. After threatening me to help them, I went and consulted with Mr. Collins about my options and how pushy the worker’s comp company was becoming. After a few days, I hired him to represent me against the trucking company and the worker’s comp claim became subordinate to mine.
Having been through a couple of previous accidents, Jack is the finest lawyer I’ve have ever had the pleasure of working with. Throughout the case he kept me up to date on everything that was taking place and what I should be expecting and rough timeframes. Since the trucking company was not local he travelled to take their depositions and make the best case we possibly could in preparation for trial.
