Due to an injury sustained, our family didn't know what to do or where to turn. Like others who deal with a sudden injury and life altering situations we initially hired someone out of haste. We quickly learned that it wasn't the best decision and at that point began to research and look for another attorney.
This is where Gerry entered our life. He listened to us on the phone and was very straight forward, yet very caring and understanding. At a later time he came to our home for a sit down and we knew instantly we would have him represent us. From that meeting we realized that he truly understood the injuries sustained and the real impact that the injuries would have. The prior attorney seemed to just be familiar with the name of the injury and knew it would bring in money....this journey was far deeper than a dollar bill. It completely rocked and changed our entire lives.
The entire process lasted about two years. It was overwhelming at times, but Gerry, Denis, and Chris are some of the most intelligent, caring, straight shooting people I have ever met. Regardless of how much time passes we will always consider them friends in our hearts.

Subject: Disappointing Experience with Simeon & Miller Law Firm
I am writing to express my frustration with the legal services I have received from Simeon & Miller. I initially reached out to the firm in March after an accident in October 2023, which was not my fault. At first, the other driver's insurance company was working with me, but communication stopped, prompting me to seek legal assistance.
I turned to Simeon & Miller after conducting an online search and reading the firm's reviews. Unfortunately, that decision has proven to be a significant mistake. Despite the firm’s 20 years of service, I found only five reviews visible, which should have raised doubts about the authenticity of their online presence. This was a possibly my first red flag.
Since then, my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. The lack of communication has been deplorable, leaving me feeling like I’m tracking a package rather than receiving the legal representation I need. After forwarding all the necessary information for my case, I was initially assigned a paralegal. Shortly after, I was passed on to another assistant, who informed me that she would compile everything and forward it to the attorney. However, after several follow-up calls, it wasn’t until September that I finally spoke to the lawyer handling my case, even though they had all the information since March.
When I did finally speak with the attorney, the call consisted of them asking a series of questions, explaining the potential value of my case, and inquiring about the lowest settlement amount I would accept. I was then told it could take another 90 days to potentially reach an agreement with the other party. As the 30-day mark approached, I received another call from the lawyer informing me that the case had settled at the original value they had quoted.
I then inquired about when I could expect to receive the check, only to be told that it could take up to another 60 days. To my surprise, I later discovered an email titled "Simeon and Miller" with no follow-up call, requesting me to sign papers for the release of the check. Despite my numerous attempts to contact the lawyer, I was repeatedly told they were unavailable. After leaving several messages, I eventually had to ask another representative for answers regarding my case, and they provided me with the information I needed. To date, I have still not received a call back from my lawyer.
Furthermore, I received a letter from the at-fault driver’s insurance company confirming that the check had been forwarded to the law firm, yet I still have not been contacted by anyone at Simeon & Miller. I am left to wonder whether they are holding the funds in escrow, potentially making money off my settlement while I continue to experience an unacceptable lack of communication.
If you are seeking timely and efficient legal representation, I strongly advise you to avoid Simeon & Miller. My experience has been prolonged, impersonal, and frustrating, and I will never use this firm again.

This review is long overdue as it has been a few months since my case was settled. Nonetheless, I hope that it helps someone. Though I have a long story as it relates to my injury, I will keep it short — just know Mr. Kearney and his team were with me the entire duration. lock step. I was injured at work about ~8 years ago. My case was longer than many. During those eight years I went through every tactic you could think of from the various insurance companies and adjusters who handled my case. During those eight years, WC insurance found reasons to deny a treatment, or to not pay my benefits, or to make me wait 6 months for a hearing to only agree with our demands the day of (which happened on 2-3 occasions), and everything in between. Their goal is to make an already bad situation even worse. At times they succeeded. However, Mr. Kearney kept fighting for me and never budged. Even when things would become overwhelming and I wanted to quit, he remained calm and consistent while encouraging me to push forward. His tenacity resulted in a settlement that I had honestly almost lost hope on. That is what you get with Mr. Kearney. He is a known and respected entity in the world of injured persons/workers. Opposing counsel knows him and when they greet him you can sense the respect they have for him. Same goes for judges; he knows them, like really knows them. If you need someone to truly fight for you while keeping your best interest paramount, look no further. It is honestly a no-brainer. If he agrees to take you on as a client, jump at it. You will not find more competent, prepared, personalized, experienced, honest, and compassionate representation in the DC area. I went out of my way to thank Mr. Kearney and his team as much as I could while he represented me and am happy to have the pleasure of thanking him again, on a public forum, while encouraging anyone who has been hurt to make Donohoe-Kearney your first call. I hope it will also be your last. I pray everyone gets healthy and receives what they are due.

I worked with Mr. Cohen a few years ago. He and his firm did a great job handling my case, a bad car accident in the Washington, DC area. My car was hit by an 18 wheeler truck on the Beltway just before the Dulles Toll Road. The truck was traveling in the right lane and decided to change lanes without seeing my car. It hit the side of my car and traveled with my car for about half a mile. If it weren't for our seatbelts, my husband and I would have been killed. Luckily, the injuries were not life threatening. Mr. Cohen made sure that all of my medical bills were handled and helped me deal with my car insurance company. He was very thorough! I would recommend Mr. Cohen to anyone that has had a car accident in the Washington DC area.

I was referred to The Cochran Firm by a close friend who used this firm because their family lost their loved one during a nursing home abuse incident. I contacted the firm to submit a medical malpractice claim on behalf of my husband who was lost during a medical procedure. Mr. Meltmar and staff quickly responded to my medical malpractice claim, told me what my options were and kept me and my family fully informed during the entire process (approximately 17 months). Mr. Meltmar in particular was very forthright with me about the process and what my options were. We had a very successful outcome for our legal case that allowed us to stabilize our family's life after a brain injury. Yet it was the process of the case that was as important to us, because we had so much to manage medically, emotionally, and mentally, during this challenging time. Chris Nace and his excellent team didn't involve us unless they needed our attention, allowing us to place our focus where it was required, in our healing. I am very surprised to the Amicus brief that Mr DeBruin and his Circuit Court appointed team put together. His brief supported my argument that the district court in DC rejected. His facts and understanding of the facts was the same facts and conclusion that I placed before the district court in DC but also in front of the Circuit Court in DC.
Mr DeBruin and is Appointed Team has shown that there are some honest lawyer who maybe willing to support a non- lawyer if the Right arguments by that person showing valid merit in there own defense and when the Fed. PD office refuses to back a proper and valid defense which allow his client to be falsely charged.

-Eric said he is currently too busy to take my case (Feb 14, 2024), so don't waste your time with an inquiry.
-Eric did NOT even review my case even though his form letter I received said he did! The form letter was sent literally minutes after my 5 minute intake call with Intake Specialist Charlotte, and Eric then said in his form letter that he reviewed my "file," but there is no such "file" for him to have reviewed, only Court docket entries.
In any case THEY ARE TOO BUSY WITH OTHER CASES TO HELP YOU AND WILL NOT TELL YOU THIS OVER THE PHONE>

I fought the VA for everything up until I had exhausted my appeals at the Board level. Once I filed my intent to appeal to the USCVA, I received a deluge of ads from attorneys. I narrowed it down to three and contacted each of them for more info. Two just sent more literature, but Mr. Gang called me, himself. I was very impressed with him and warned him up front that it was a very complicated case. Once I'd retained him, they went immediately to work. To the credit of Mr. Gang and his excellent team, the complications (mostly caused by the VA) seemed to only make them dig in. He actually had several chances to dump the case and still stuck with me. I can't express how grateful I am after he successfully ended my 9yr journey through hell in less than two.
