Mr Issac Green is a Crook. This lawyer is a crook. Please do not hire him. If you do hire him because you think he will win your case make sure all your work that's needed is done upfront by him he did nothing on my case. He overcharged me for work that I've done myself he's a crook. Him and his associate Mr. Dean Owens two crooks. I don't know how they're still in business. Save your money and find somebody else run fast. He's in an office Down at liberty Place in Philadelphia with Mincy & Fitzpatrick. I can't even believe they're in business with such a crook and a thief.

Max was my lawyer on a case where I was the co-plaintiff. Over a period of two years I called and emailed him and his office to find out the status of my case. In that time Max responded once but only when I copied my personal lawyer on the email. Otherwise nothing. He refused to answer even the simplest of questions. Questions like "has our case moved forward"? or "do you need anything from me"?. I had to go to PACER and pay for court transcripts to find out what was going on. Be careful. I don't know what I did to receive this treatment. You may not either.

Kevin Foley has an outstanding record as a trial lawyer, not a settlement lawyer. Kevin played a major role or as lead counsel in three eight figure settlements in northeast Pa, including an $16 million dollar case involving a catastrophically injured victim in 2008, and dozens of seven figure settlements. Kevin works at a frenetic pace. Sometimes that can come off as aggressive, but he cares about his clients and takes seriously his obligation to maximize their awards.

I went to the Foley law firm because my mother had had her case handled by them many years ago. She had nothing but good to say about them, and had a great outcome. Unfortunately, my experience with Kevin was less than stellar. He was rude to me and told me straight out that I was lying about my workers' comp claim. I ended up trusting him to settle my case because he acted as if i was too stupid to understand what was going on. I also found his staff very rude. I would NEVER hire him again. I thank God everyday that he did not handle my mother's case.

Had a misfortune of hiring Mr. Lukomski for auto accident case. Had a judgement awarded, however, 7 years and counting later, still no sight of money. He failed to go after my former insurance company for Underinsured/Uninsured and has not sent out any update in over a year. Calling him is pointless - never returns any calls, secretary is useless, case is pretty much in a black hole. Abandoned case without even a courtesy of saying that much. I'm now looking into what actions I can take to collect on my judgement and correct this malpractice. I would recommend this attorney only to party I'd want to sue (and lose).

Before they accepted my case they reviewed it looked at death certificate. 3 months later no communication ever with lawyer they drop my case. Who waste all that time on someone? They obviously care just about money and numbers and take you as a client tie you up and then figure out you have no case?

Last year my father, who is in the late stages of dementia, was left unattended by an aide and fell sustaining serious injuries which he has not recovered from. I heard such great things about Len that I decided to use his services. Very professional and attentive in the beginning, then I notice he started to not give our family any information about what was going on with the case. My father has suffered tremendously due to nursing home negligence and I thought he would get some justice. Len wouldn't return emails, he always came up with excuses to call back and never would. I guess it wasn't enough of a settlement payout or maybe he took a payoff from the facility. Thanks for a horrible experience Len...a typical lawyer indeed!

Maryann acted like my daughter-in-law‘s divorce attorney not for the benefit of those children. Since then we had to go to family court multiple times because the mother and her boyfriend are unfit. The children was choked and my granddaughter who was 6 dragged across the floor by her boyfriend. Maryann even talked crap behind my son and my back and it got back to us. . How can this person be an advocate for minor children? There needs to be an investigation on this advocates motives. Since we wasted so much time with her incompetence ..the children were thrown out along with the mother without enough notice to get their belongings from the boyfriend due to the mother cheating among other things. This advocate sure did get this one wrong! Now the children are where they are protected with their father. This so called attorney should be investigated.

She was my granddaughters father's attorney. I thought we would work that to achieve a goal we would all appreciate. It wasn't a good situation. I complimented her on her long healthy hair. She flipped her head as if I was a fly in her face. We will work on how to deal with such evil. The Lord will deal with her eventually. He knows my heart's in the right place. As much as everyone says how lazy she is she was 'on' the boy.....!

Do not hire her as a divorce attorney. After paying her a retainer to facilitate my divorce as quickly as possible, it took months before she took any action and after a year, I fired her and hired someone else, her delays cost me tens of thousands because my assets grew in value as did the distribution to my ex husband. Assets that she advised me he would have no entitlement to. She advised incorrect information and it cost me extensively.

Sadly Mr. DeLuca made my case sound like it was a slam dunk during the consult. I sat in his lobby for 15 minutes after our scheduled appt time and hadn't heard from him. I had to walk through his building to find him. Took almost 30 days to get the paperwork filed in a custody dispute. Due to issues with his office's lack of familiarity with the county we filed in. He was 10-15 minutes late for the original hearing time which caused more tension with the defendant and eventually told me that I was best served by doing a new custody agreement because it could go either way with a judge. He was supposed to represent me in a support meeting and was late to that. When he finally arrived the person handling the support meeting advised him I didn't need him and I removed him as my representation immediately. He then refused to return any of my retainer as it was non refundable. When you pay a retaininer (which wasn't cheap} you expect a certain level of service and competency. If custody issues aren't in your wheelhouse just say that. Referrals are the best way to get business. Needless to say I will not be sending any referrals. This was a horrible experience.

Very poor communicator. I never knew what he was doing with my injury case. He had his secretary communicate with me, and she is RUDE. Always hung up on me when I called the office. We went to trial, and he was reading the paperwork right before we went into the courtroom. I think this was the first time he even looked at the paperwork. He was pessimistic, even though we won! Urged me to settle for low amount of $ because he said we didn't have a chance of winning if we asked for more. Lazy, lazy, lazy. I definitely would NOT recommend.

I have been a client for over a year now. I would call to give updates regarding my case or call to inquire where we stand. I always get a voicemail and never have my phone calls returned. And this would go on for months on end. It was not until I wanted to switch lawyers and asked to be let out of our agreement that I have received a call back. Only to be talked to in an irritated voice. I decided to stay and was told.to call back at a certain point in which I have and now I'm back to just leaving messages with no return calls. I am beyond disappointed with his services.

I mailed my case in advance to Philadelphia for pre review. They asked me to come in. I spent 5 hours round trip, $30 in parking, and gas, to attend. He did not properly greet me, he was constantly distracted, he stated that he hates to read, and eats Ed half my day by having me drive to Philly. He was repeatedly dismissive, cut me off, consoled the entire conversation, and then failed to discuss a second case that I have. I’m extremely disappointed with how I was treated, over spoken, and them declined, despite having the case file in front of him. A complete waste of time. How can you represent clients if you hate to read?

I was a client of Patrick S. Casey's for a period of approximately four months before dismissing him as my lawyer. I fired him and his firm and after paying them more than $40,000 (he charged excessively for "research") and getting now where with my case. Very questionable billing practices indeed. Time spent as his client was highly stressful. By far, the most difficult part of being in a lawsuit was my dealings with him. In the end, from him, I learned a lot about how lawyers get their reputation.

I hired him to handle a personal injury case and he did nothing for about 4 years and didn't fight for me with the case at all. Stay away!!! That's the only advice we can give. He jumped on our case and told us he was our best choice considering how many years he was in practice. We had 5 other attorneys interested and some of them warned us when we explained we retained Mr. Abraham. We met with him less than a year after the injury and had 2 appt's thereafter. We signed papers and he said he was ready to file against the MD. 2 weeks before our statute of limitations was up, he called and said he was no longer able to take the case.

Mr. Stranahan was hired to represent the family in an elder abuse case. Unfortunately, despite his repeated promises otherwise, during the eight months his services were engaged, he failed to perform any discovery: not a single document request, interrogatory or deposition. In the meantime, the primary plaintiff, our mother, passed away, significantly weakening our attempts to secure restitution. He also attempted to bill us for a judicial status conference that had to be cancelled because he had not properly served the defendants. His negligent representation not only forced us to retain other counsel at significant additional expense and delay, but he then saw fit to sue us for time he spent preparing for a deposition that he cancelled and never rescheduled.

Judicial ethics opinions should be public. Redact names if you must, but advisory opinions on what PA judges should or should not be doing should be public info available to everyone. Your complete lack of transparency does not engender trust in your corrupt court system. Then again, most judges probably will not seek out an opinion, anyway.

What a Medical Malpractice Lawyer Can Do for You

A medical malpractice lawyer specializes in helping individuals who have been harmed due to the negligence or misconduct of healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, or hospitals. These lawyers assist in cases where a healthcare provider deviates from the accepted standard of care, resulting in injury or death. Medical malpractice cases can involve misdiagnosis, surgical errors, medication mistakes, birth injuries, and other forms of medical negligence.

If you or a loved one has suffered harm due to improper medical treatment, a medical malpractice lawyer can help you understand your legal options, file a lawsuit, and pursue compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other damages.

When Should I Hire a Medical Malpractice Lawyer?

Hiring a medical malpractice lawyer is essential if you’ve been seriously injured due to the negligence of a healthcare provider or institution. Situations where you should seek legal representation include:

  • Misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis: If a doctor fails to diagnose or delays diagnosing a medical condition, leading to harm or progression of the illness.
  • Surgical errors: Harm resulting from surgical mistakes such as operating on the wrong site, leaving instruments inside the body, or performing unnecessary procedures.
  • Medication errors: Injuries caused by prescribing the wrong medication or dosage, or mistakes made by pharmacists in dispensing drugs.
  • Birth injuries: Injuries to a newborn due to medical negligence during labor and delivery, such as failing to perform a timely C-section or improper use of delivery instruments.
  • Anesthesia errors: Complications arising from improperly administered anesthesia, which can lead to serious injury or death.
  • Inadequate follow-up or aftercare: Suffering due to lack of proper monitoring or care after a medical procedure, leading to complications.
  • Hospital or nursing home negligence: Harm caused by the negligence of hospital staff, nurses, or administrators who failed to provide adequate care.

Medical malpractice cases are complex, and hiring a lawyer early can help ensure your rights are protected and your case is handled effectively.

What Does a Medical Malpractice Lawyer Do?

A medical malpractice lawyer provides various legal services to help injured patients hold negligent healthcare providers accountable. Their responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating your case: Reviewing medical records and consulting with experts to determine if you have a viable claim based on the standard of care and harm suffered.
  • Filing a lawsuit: Initiating legal action by filing a complaint against the responsible parties in the appropriate court.
  • Gathering evidence: Collecting medical records, expert testimonies, and other relevant evidence to build a strong case.
  • Negotiating with insurance companies: Working to secure a fair settlement that compensates you for your injuries without the need for a trial.
  • Litigating in court: Representing you during trial proceedings if a settlement cannot be reached, presenting evidence and arguing your case.
  • Calculating damages: Assessing the full extent of your losses, including medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, and future care needs.
  • Handling expert testimony: Coordinating with medical experts who can testify on how the standard of care was breached and how it led to your injuries.

How Are Medical Malpractice Lawyers Paid?

Most medical malpractice lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, which means they only get paid if they recover compensation for you. Key aspects of this payment structure include:

  • Contingency fee percentage: The lawyer's fee is typically between 25% and 40% of the settlement or award.
  • No upfront costs: You do not pay any legal fees unless the lawyer successfully recovers compensation on your behalf.
  • Case expenses: Costs for expert witnesses, medical record retrieval, and court fees may be deducted from your settlement or award in addition to the lawyer's fee.

Always discuss the fee arrangement during your initial consultation to understand your financial obligations.

How Much Does a Medical Malpractice Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a medical malpractice lawyer is usually based on a contingency fee model. General estimates include:

  • Contingency fee: Lawyers typically charge between 25% and 40% of the total recovery amount.
  • Case expenses: Additional costs such as expert witness fees and court expenses can range from $5,000 to $50,000 or more, depending on the case complexity.

Ensure you receive a clear explanation of all potential fees and expenses before proceeding with your case.

Top Questions to Ask a Medical Malpractice Lawyer

Before hiring a medical malpractice lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with medical malpractice cases like mine?
Confirm the lawyer has a successful track record with similar cases.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Understand the contingency fee percentage and any additional costs you may incur.
  3. What is the likelihood of success in my case?
Seek an honest assessment of your case's strengths and potential challenges.
  4. How long will the process take?
Get an estimate of the timeline for settling or taking the case to trial.
  5. Will you handle my case personally?
Ensure you know who will be managing your case and their level of involvement.
  6. Have you worked with expert witnesses?
Verify the lawyer's experience in collaborating with medical experts essential for your case.

How to Check the Credibility of a Medical Malpractice Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association for their license and any disciplinary actions.
  • Review their experience: Look for specialization in medical malpractice and a history of successful cases.
  • Read client reviews: Consult platforms like Avvo or Martindale-Hubbell for testimonials and ratings.
  • Ask for references: Request contact information of previous clients willing to discuss their experience.
  • Check professional affiliations: Membership in organizations like the American Association for Justice (AAJ) indicates a commitment to the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To maximize the effectiveness of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Medical records: All documents related to your treatment and injury.
  • Evidence of harm: Photos, medical bills, and records of lost wages.
  • Communication records: Any correspondence with healthcare providers or institutions.
  • List of healthcare providers: Names and contact information of all involved medical personnel.
  • Questions for the lawyer: A prepared list to address all your concerns.
  • Timeline of events: A detailed chronology of your medical care and the issues encountered.

Being well-prepared helps the lawyer assess your case accurately and advise you on the best course of action.
