Attorney Mark Williamson and his team were fantastic. The outcome for me was excellent. Throughout the process, they were always there to answer any questions I had. Furthermore, they thoroughly explained the process and kept me updated on what was going on with my case. Thank you so much, Attorney Mark Williamson!

Worse experience ever! Honestly I chose them based off their reviews but maybe they treat people differently. If you have a friend or family talk to them first. Better yet file paperwork yourself. Also if your job offers EAP it's free. I'll never utilize any lawyer in Augusta again.

George Bush was a huge help in my husband's SS case. He got us a hearing within a very short period of time. At the hearing, he told us exactly what would happen, which calmed my husband who was a nervous wreck. We got the hearing judge's decision within the following week. Cannot thank you enough Mr Bush!

We never had any complaints from him about our services until he ran up about $6,000 worth of bills and he decided not to pay us. We gave him gps proof and all our internal logs. I used to hate lawyers with a passion; we physicians like to call them “snakes.” Then God guided me to Brandon Dial, Esq. HE IS WHAT A LAWYER IS ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO BE. His spine of steel, heart of gold, and tongue of silver, unified in service of a clear conscience, make for an anachronistic dinosaur among his so-called peers. American law to this day remains a fierce battleground for good and evil. As such, one is wise to choose Brandon Dial as their champion. While his antagonists are busy playing dirty tricks, he just artfully hangs each one up in a noose made from their own lies. He gave me a big win yesterday. I’ve lost count really of all the big wins he has achieved for me and my family. We pray for him daily because I am certain he is constantly and ferociously attacked, professionally and spiritually. He is a major force promoting goodness and truth in his city, and is a blessing on it and me.

Catherine did an excellent job in court under trying circumstances. You will get great service. She listens and gives good advice. She was correct in her predictions of certain outcomes. She will not let you down. I was in fairly bad situation and she was able to turn it around. The deal was phenomenal considering, in fact I got everything I could realistically hope for. Could not recommend Catherine more.

I have been nothing but impressed with Ms. Ryan's conduct as an attorney. She took on the case when no one else (qualified) would (due to the work it would entail) and while her prices are high, so too were the prices of all other attorney's interviewed. She took on a case that had been dumped by an earlier attorney and work tirelessly to educate herself on the nuances of it. Ms. Ryan arrived in court and represented the case well, even better than the earlier attorney, who, admittedly, was practicing outside of his wheelhouse. She ensured that we had the best possible outcome that we could have hoped for in that situation, and when the next hearing arose and the results were the opposite, she has not stopped advocating on our behalf. Ms. Ryan is accomplished, tenacious, and honorable (an oftentimes rare quality in this field) attorney. Ms. Ryan does not perceive you merely as a source of income, but as a person and she has always seemed as invested in the outcome of our case as we are, which is the mark of a truly great attorney. You would be wise to secure her talents on your behalf if you are ever in need of an attorney who specializes in Family law.

Pursuant to O,C.G.A. Section 40-5-121(a), upon a first conviction of driving with a suspended license within five years, the defendant will be assessed a minimum fine of $500. The maximum fine is $1,000. A minimum confinement period of two days is often imposed as well. Disorderly conduct, which is a less serious offense than driving with a suspended license, generally yields a lesser fine (usually around $300). If the previous reviewer believes other defendants received lesser fines, it's probably because they were pleading to disorderly conduct or some other minor offense. It thus appears that the previous reviewer's brother-in-law actually received the lowest fine he could have possibly received for the offense to which he pled, and it sounds like he wasn't sentenced to any jail time. Even though he had resolved the issue leading to his license suspension in the first place (his child support arrearages), that did not change the fact that his license was suspended at the time he was arrested. That's probably why the DA wouldn't drop the charges. Under the circumstances, the attorney obtained a very positive outcome for the defendant. My dealings with this attorney have been nothing but positive.

Ms. Jeffords, it’s been a few years since my situation (5 yrs) but I just wish I could see her and give her the biggest hug. I remember her coming to visit me… idk why I just had so much faith in her and in myself as well. Long story short, I told her I wanted her on my case and we made it happen. I got out ,and never went back. She was straight forward with me from the beginning. I never had to do anything other than stay focus and stay in faith. 5 years later, I have my life back, my career back, my children are happy &healthy. It only took about 2 years and I got a complete dismissal on ALL CHARGES 🙌🏾. I will always speak highly of her and recommend this firm every that chance I get!

Met with attorney ,discussed case, was given advice on what to do , and how to proceed. Left his office with the feeling that he had Accepted the case . Mailed down payment , the following month I called to make sure all was in order and to verify payment received . After being placed on hold for a period of time , a young women informed me he decided not to take my case. Would have been nice to have been told this at time of consultation rather than a month later! Searched for the phone call they stated was made , and there was no voice message left as they stated, nor did I recognize his office number as having called.. Pleasant at consultation, and gave me no indication that he would not be taking the case. Still have not received a response as to why this change in decision was made. Retaining fee was not signed but I was not aware of this until I called . Again this was a month later. If you choose to consult, make sure you have a definitive answer as to whether he will consider your case , or a definite acceptance or refusal . I feel I was left hanging, causing my situation to be worse. I'm not mad but very disappointed in the way I was informed that he changed his mind. Let me stress he was nice at consultation and very knowledgeable ( recommendations made). The way it was handled after the consultation , was unfair and should have been handled differently.

Maureen Floyd is the worst example of a criminal defense attorney. She will take your money and misrepresent your case to the fullest. Maureen's legal office offers, "Free consultation", however, her words to me, "I do not make money on free advice." I told her upfront that I was here for a specific reason. She kept interrupting me, and asking me questions that were completely unrelated to the reason I was there. She had an extremely rude attitude, and basically told me, "Last chance, stop making a fake story, and tell me (the answers to the questions that does not matter)." We were not in there for 5 minutes, before I flat out refused her services. I would NOT recommend this person.

I went in for a free with Maureen Floyd to discuss her possibly representing me during my divorce. She was very rude and would not listen to anything I had to say. She assumed she knew so many things about my life and when I tried to correct her or give her more details so she could understand better, she did not want to hear it. How can a lawyer and the client determine if that lawyer is the best one to represent them if they will not even listen to the potential client's story? She was very unprofessional and her people skills are awful. I would not recommend this woman at all.

My paperwork is still not turned into the insurance company. I had to take out a personal loan to get help since I'm currently unemployed. I really not sure when I will receive my money or anything at all. I rarely even speak to my lawyer. In 6 months I talk to my lawyer christopher Corley maybe 3 times. He never returns my call the same day. Always the 1 or 2 days later. I feel like I'm lost really want another lawyer . I'm never informed about anything. Don't waste your time or money. Not worth it

A personal injury lawyer specializes in helping individuals who have been physically or emotionally injured due to the negligence or wrongful actions of another party. Whether you've been hurt in a car accident, suffered a slip and fall, or experienced medical malpractice, a personal injury attorney works to ensure you receive fair compensation for your injuries. They can help you recover damages for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other related expenses.

Personal injury lawyers act as your advocate, navigating the legal system on your behalf and dealing with insurance companies to ensure you get the compensation you deserve. They understand how to handle complex legal matters and help you avoid common pitfalls.

When Should I Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer?

Hiring a personal injury lawyer can be beneficial in many situations where you've been harmed due to another's negligence. Some key scenarios include:

  • Severe injuries: If you've suffered significant or permanent injuries that result in substantial medical bills, a lawyer can help ensure you are fairly compensated.
  • Long-term or permanent disability: Injuries that affect your ability to work or require ongoing medical treatment are complex, and a lawyer can help estimate long-term damages.
  • Disputed liability: If the responsible party or their insurance company denies liability for your injury, a lawyer can gather evidence and advocate on your behalf.
  • Insurance company lowball offers: Insurers often try to settle personal injury claims for as little as possible. A lawyer can negotiate to get you a fair settlement.
  • Medical malpractice claims: Injuries caused by a doctor, nurse, or healthcare provider due to negligence require a personal injury lawyer experienced in medical malpractice law.
  • Exposure to hazardous substances: If you've been injured due to exposure to toxins, chemicals, or dangerous substances, a lawyer can help pursue legal action.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is crucial, especially if you're unsure of the full extent of your injuries or damages.

What Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Do?

A personal injury lawyer provides a wide range of services to guide you through the legal process and maximize your compensation. They can:

  • Evaluate your case: A lawyer will assess the strength of your claim and determine whether you have a viable case.
  • Investigate the incident: Gathering evidence such as police reports, witness statements, medical records, and expert opinions is key to building a strong case.
  • Negotiate with insurance companies: Lawyers handle communications with insurance companies to ensure you receive a fair settlement and aren't taken advantage of.
  • File a lawsuit if necessary: If a fair settlement can't be reached, the lawyer can file a personal injury lawsuit on your behalf and represent you in court.
  • Help calculate damages: This includes medical expenses, lost wages, future medical needs, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.
  • Prepare and file legal documents: Lawyers handle all the paperwork and deadlines associated with your case, including filing motions and discovery requests.
  • Represent you at trial: If your case goes to trial, the lawyer will argue your case before a judge and jury to obtain the compensation you deserve.

How Are Personal Injury Lawyers Paid?

Most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win your case, either through settlement or a court judgment. Here’s how it works:

  • Contingency fee percentage: The lawyer will take a percentage of the settlement or award, typically between 25% and 40%, depending on the complexity of the case and the stage at which it's resolved.
  • Costs and expenses: In addition to the contingency fee, the lawyer may deduct other costs associated with the case, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, and court costs. These expenses are often advanced by the lawyer and repaid out of the settlement.
  • No upfront payment: Since the lawyer’s fee is contingent on winning, you usually don’t pay anything upfront.

Always discuss the lawyer’s fee structure during your consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a personal injury lawyer depends on the specifics of your case and the lawyer’s fee structure. However, since most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, the amount you pay will depend on the outcome of your case. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Contingency fees: Typically range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award. The percentage may increase if the case goes to trial or requires an appeal.
  • Other costs: In addition to the lawyer's fee, you may be responsible for case-related expenses such as expert witness fees, medical record retrieval fees, and court costs. These are often deducted from your settlement, so you won't have to pay out of pocket.

While the cost may seem high, hiring an experienced lawyer can significantly increase the amount you recover, making it a worthwhile investment.

Top Questions to Ask a Personal Injury Lawyer

Before hiring a personal injury lawyer, it's essential to ask questions to ensure you’re choosing the right representation. Here are some important questions to ask:

  1. What is your experience with personal injury cases like mine?
Make sure the lawyer has handled cases involving similar injuries or accidents.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a contingency fee and what percentage they will take from any settlement or award.
  3. How long will my case take?
While it's hard to predict, a lawyer can give you an estimate based on similar cases they’ve handled.
  4. How often do you take cases to trial?
Some lawyers prefer to settle quickly, while others are more comfortable going to court if necessary.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
In larger firms, junior lawyers or paralegals may handle some aspects of your case, so it's important to know who will be managing your claim.
  6. Do you have references from past clients?
Speaking with past clients can provide valuable insight into the lawyer’s effectiveness and professionalism.

How to Check the Credibility of a Personal Injury Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a credible personal injury lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with your state’s bar association. Look for any history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, and Google reviews can provide insight into the lawyer's reputation and client satisfaction.
  • Look at their track record: Review their experience with personal injury cases, particularly how many cases they’ve successfully resolved or taken to trial.
  • Ask for references: Credible lawyers should be willing to provide references from past clients who can vouch for their work.
  • Check professional memberships: Lawyers who are members of respected organizations, like the American Association for Justice (AAJ), often have a solid reputation in the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a personal injury lawyer, prepare the following:

  • Detailed account of the accident: Write down everything you remember about the incident, including dates, times, and locations. Include any witnesses or police reports if available.
  • Medical records and bills: Bring any documentation of your injuries, treatments, and associated medical costs.
  • Insurance information: Provide your insurance details and any communication you’ve had with the other party’s insurance company.
  • Employment and income records: If your injury has impacted your ability to work, bring proof of lost wages or reduced earning capacity.
  • Photos or videos: If you have photos of the accident scene, your injuries, or property damage, bring them to your consultation.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Prepare a list of questions to ask, including how the lawyer will handle your case and what you can expect in terms of timeline and outcome.

By preparing thoroughly for your first consultation, you’ll help the lawyer understand your case more quickly and get a better sense of your legal options.
