I would like to express my gratitude to Mrs. Kristen Turner and Mr. Capurso for representing me in my Auto- injury case. I have never been through something like this, and with out them I would not have been able to do this on my own, and they are Great at making sure I know and understand exactly what is going on and the next steps to take. I especially like the fact when I call Mrs. Turner she always answers, never having to leave voice mail after voice mail. I would highly recommend this Team !!!!!! to be on YOUR SIDE

First, the one person who gave a bad review is obviously lacking intelligence. The review does not sound like Gerry at all, and spelling the word 'rude' as 'rood' does not help the reviewer's credibility. A while back I had a situation where my ex was filing false charges against me almost monthly in an effort to get custody and support. Just like on TV, Gerry skillfully picked apart my ex's claims and made her look ridiculous in front of several judges. Eventually my ex was told that if I ended up in their court again, SHE would be the one going to jail. If I had been given a public defender, I may have gotten 20 years or more in prison. Because of Gerry, I only spent about 7 days total in jail (one or two days for every time she made false claims to get me arrested). Not only that, Gerry won for me full custody of my children. If you have ANY type of domestic issue, Gerry should be your first call.

A Miracle in Baltimore City: Our Journey to the Right Educational Support Our story began in 2021 when we relocated from New Mexico to Baltimore City during the height of the pandemic. We were in search of educational and health services for our five-year-old daughter who is on the autism spectrum and has special needs. As physicians, balancing both the stresses of the pandemic and the complications of the educational system was a struggle. Our frustration grew when we couldn't get our daughter screened for Kindergarten through the Child Find Office, and after several disheartening interactions, we were unsure of where to turn. That's when we reached out to the office of Mark Martin and connected with the remarkable Alexandra Rosenblatt. From that moment on, things began to shift. Alexandra was a beacon throughout the long and difficult road. She attended every step of our IEP development, providing insight, advocacy, and unwavering support. Her approachable nature made it easy for us to ask questions, and she was always ready with answers and a clear plan forward. Alexandra guided us through what often felt like an impossible maze of bureaucracy. After two turbulent years, we finally achieved a breakthrough, our daughter secured placement in a non-public school that meets her unique needs, complete with a comprehensive ABA program. This was no small victory, and we know that none of this would have been possible without Alexandra’s expertise and dedication. We had been prepared to relocate to another state in search of better services, but her involvement ensured that our daughter could thrive right here in Baltimore City, where families of children with special needs face uphill battles. We are forever grateful for Alexandra's role in this miracle.

A federal indictment should be soon for this office for the amount of money stolen from their clients. This office represented my wife grandfather personal injury and wrongful death case. Peter was hired in December 1996, a year after opening this firm. My wife father died from asbestos lung cancer in 2003. Sadly, the estate only saw 100k over the past 20 year and her grandfather never received the settlement money neither did she or her grandmother who are both named in his Will. To this day, this office is sending small checks to the estate but have claimed over 40 million of dollars from the companies trust funds in relations to the injuries and deaths of their clients.

Highly Recommend Alexandra Rosenblatt for Special Needs Lawyer I highly recommend Alexandra Rosenblatt (Allie) to anyone looking for an attorney to advocate for a child with special needs. My daughter, who has a diagnosed cognitive disability requiring specialized teaching, was struggling in school. Despite the clear necessity for a specialized placement, the IEP team was refusing to place her in the appropriate school. After trying to advocate for my daughter in two different counties in Maryland for three years—with no success—I contacted Allie. From the moment she took on our case, things began to change. With Allie’s help, we were finally able to secure a placement for my daughter at a non-public school that caters to her unique needs. Allie was upfront with the facts and had a deep understanding of the challenges we were facing. She guided me through the system and helped me understand the process, especially when I felt frustrated and lost. As both a lawyer and a mother, she truly understood our situation and the urgency of our needs. She was always accessible for questions, and if she wasn't available, her assistant, Demetria, was quick to step in and schedule a meeting. I can’t express enough how grateful I am for Allie’s expertise and support. I highly recommend her and her law office to any parent navigating the complex special education system.

This place doesn’t want to help those in serious accidents that matter for customers. First off the receptionist in the front desk Kim is very rude, unprofessional and doesn’t like returning calls. The lawyer himself Jeffery talks a big game about helping and fighting for the clients but he doesn’t!!!! He looks for his money only for the law-firm and five other more money just for being refurred to them, more than the person that’s being handled on the case. Nobody returns calls until they get annoyed by the client/clients!! I can recall calling 4 times in one day just to hear back for information then waited additional 15 till they can to the phone. I wouldn’t recommend anyone using him for help. There’s no real justice dealing with him except laying him off and making him look good when truly he’s not!!!! And he take weeks to resolve issues and get any updates on what’s happening with the case.

Do not waste your time dealing with these people. They are only out for their selves and are very selfish. They do not care about my concerns about my recent case and aren't fighting hard enough. I rather deal with another attorney than them. Was referred by the wrong person anyway!!!!!! By the way Kim (at the front desk) is very rude and unprofessional! Donna (the other woman who works there) is the only person who is nice and seems to care. Jeff Miller (the actual attorney) is BS he will look you in the face and act he cares but really doesn't. DO NOT COME HERE.

As a business owner, I highly value reviews and feedback, recognizing them as essential tools to enhance products or services, or in some cases, maintain current exceptional standards. Recently, I engaged Attorney Michael Cochran for a Child Support case, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. I felt that Michael did not exercise due diligence, and there was an unsettling lack of clarity regarding the details and plan of action for my case. After leaving a review expressing my concerns, he responded with a text, suggesting that I find a new attorney. While this made sense, as I had no intention of continuing with his services, the manner in which he handled the situation was unprofessional. To provide more context, I had an upcoming custody case related to the Child Support matter. I was already hesitant to use Michael's services due to dissatisfaction with how he managed the Child Support case. For instance, he made arguments more suited for a custody case rather than a Child Support case, leaving me confused about his approach, as we never discussed anything beyond the payment balance. Michael's response to my review was a text message that read: “Did you see the email? I saw the negative review you posted on Google regarding the child support case. I suggest you find another attorney to represent you in the custody case and have them file a substitution of counsel. I will hold until then. Thanks.” Rather than addressing my concerns through open dialogue, he chose to send a cancellation text. In my opinion, lawyers are paid too much to allow interpersonal issues and lack of communication to hinder their professional relationships. When fighting for your child, the last thing you need is an attorney who falls short in these areas. In the past, I used Erica Slater, and I wish I could turn to her now, but unfortunately, she no longer practices family law. I hope my experience serves as a cautionary tale for others seeking legal representation in family matters.

Mr. Cochran was a pleasure to work with. He did an excellent job in communicating what would be expected during the hearing, and possible outcomes. Prior to the actual hearing much attention was given to researching the history of the case, as well as preparing of the defendant and witnesses. In the end the outcome was much better than expected. I would not hesitate to use him in the future if the need arises, or to recommend him.

**** ON BEHALF OF MY MOTHER**** I have a workers compensation case that Bruce Ingerman represented me in and the paralegal is Barry. I have been trying for five years to get treatment without any help. Barry advised me to use my personal insurance for treatments which I did until I ran out of coverage and money. I kept calling and emailing with basically no response until I went down to their office last year and spoke with the receptionist who guaranteed Barry would return my call. She did but gave me the same story waiting for adjuster. I called and spoke with Bruce since Barry was doing nothing and he advised me to come in as I was running out of time for worker’s compensation to cover my treatments. I scheduled an appointment with him for that same week. Can you believe I went to the appointment and Mr Ingerman did not see me. Barry spoke to me and informed me Bruce was busy with a new client but she was still working on getting the authorization. She sent me to the doctor who recommended treatment and imaging. I am still waiting for the authorization to get these done. Barry claims inability to reach adjuster and usually does not return calls, emails or text messages. I am unable to work and constantly in pain but it seems Barry and her company does not care about those they represent. Professionally I ensured others where treated as humans and helped them on their road to recovery. Now to be treated this way is simple inhumane. It’s been five years of constant pain and feelings of desperation at the hands of Bruce and Barry. I am sorry I chose this company to represent me.

It truly hurts me to write this review, however Rene Kendall leaves me no choice. I have been a client of Bruce Ingerman since 2007. I have referred countless State Employees and civilians to this office over 17 years. Now I am being neglected by this firm. I was injured while working for the State of Maryland, I do receive an ILOD pension. I have been getting treatment for my injuries up Until 2023. My medical providers have been trying to get in contact with my paralegal Rene Kendall for over a year and Rene refuses to return my calls/emails as well as my providers call. Workers comp hasn't paid any of my medical bills since 2021. Now I am receiving the bills. I don't want to file a complaint with Bar Association, Maryland States Attorney or Workers comp commission however due to your continued neglect of my case I have no choice! I am suffering in pain every day due to no treatment. This is inhumane to treat your client like this! I am taking more pain medication, thinking of suicide because of the pain is unbearable. I don't want to get addicted to the pain medication. I need my medical treatment desperately. My Doctor can't see me, unless my lawyer calls them to ensure payment. All of this could of been taken care of with 1 phone call! It should never take over a year to return a medical providers call. Diana Lyles

Brad filed for a warrant motion recall when he should not have, just to take my money. I had hire another attorney first and I should’ve stayed with him. My son was falsely accused and he was found innocent from questioning, so the detective told me that I didn’t need an attorney. I told Brad macfee and he acted like he was in shock. If I would not have said anything about a refund he would’ve kept my money. I paid him $1500. Who would allow someone to keep their money for nothing. Not me! He told me that he would give me my $1000 back. He got his secretary or whatever she is working from her home, because he has no office to send me an invoice. Saying that he charged me for my affidavits $300 for an hour. We never talked about that, if we did I would not have agreed to that is what I texted him. He never called me back and he ignore my calls after the day he told me a lie about my money. I called and texted a week later asking about my money and Liz said that she didn’t have my address, but Brad had it. Poor communication on their end. I went to her address to pick up my $825 check. I wouldn’t recommend him to a cat. This is what I text Brad and he just read my messages everytime that I text him. Coward Why are you trying to rip me off? You told me that you were sending me a check for $1,000. You did the motion like Rodney did and really should not have because you knew that it would not work. I need my money back. Not, $825.00 Brad Why didn’t you tell me that I was being charged for the affidavit statement. I would have never agreed to that. You also made it like the warrant would be recalled, because you sent the affidavits attached. You knew that it wouldn’t work, because Rodney told me that it was denied and you knew that. And turn around and misrepresent the truth and you didn’t disclose an affidavit fee. I should’ve stayed with Rodney. it was all about money. I never agreed to pay you for an affidavit. You stole my money.

Brad was the worst lawyer EVER he stole over $500 and never returned my money he played so many games and never barely called us. Not to mention it was like pulling a persons heart out with your bare hands. That’s how hard it was to get in contact. He has a iPhone so I would see him many times read my messages and keep them on read. I guess it’s no surprise we lost our case. He was the worst ever and I wouldn’t recommend him for not even the simplest case. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

If I could give this firm a zero I would. I was in a car wreck almost two years ago and by accident, I found this firm (someone told me a name and I thought it was this one, but it wasn't). I was rushed in signing with them when I only wanted a consultation. I had a concussion so I didn't realize what I was doing until it was done so I went with it. For the entire case, I provided every last doctor's notes and itemized bills. Cindy did not have to spend time requesting them (it saves on costs in the end because they charge a by page fee if they have to request it). I called to get updates. Not once was I called with updates. When I did call, all I was told is that I have to wait for the doctors to discharge me before they would start to do anything. There was a time that I emailed asking for an update and was ignored and the excuse I was given was that Cindy was on vacation. That vacation was for a month. She apparently does everything from what she told me so nothing got done while she was out. There was a time or two that I broke down crying on the phone to her because I was going to cancel the services so that I could deal with the insurance myself. She convinced me to stick with her and she would reduce the 33.3% fee they charge and that Paul would just have to be mad at her after the fact. Well, that was not done. Also, I asked for help with my case because the person that hit me wasn't who he said he was. I want them to help me get the other insurance company to take responsibility instead of using mine which takes a $250 minimum deductible which Cindy said I would get back, but I still have not seen that. When she submitted my paperwork to the insurance, after me asking several times to do so, she charged me to look up one bill which I know I gave her and she never reached out to me to see if I had it. Per my insurance company, the firm was provided one quote and they ran with it and convinced me to take it becuase it was just under my uninsured motorist limit and they wouldnt do anything else. No fight was given. Then Cindy created the paperwork for me to sign. She was so mixed up, the numbers on my first form she wanted me to sign were not my numbers. I asked her again about the reduction of the fee and then all of sudden, she had to ask Paul, who I was told by her that he lives in Florida and she only talks to him one morning a week. I emailed to ask the status and she told me to reach out directly to Paul. I did via email. I got no response. I then sent another and copied Cindy and John since John is the other person in charge apparently. I was ignored. I sent another email and finally Cindy stated she would speak to Paul and have him reach out to me. Well he did today and he called me with a complete attitude. He did not let me speak. He told to to go find another f*ing lawer and pay them money for them to call him. That was very disrespectful and interrupted me after every other word I tried to say then hung up on me. What kind of lawyer does that? I had never spoken to him my entire case. For him to call and start out with an attitude and not hear, or want to hear, anything that I have to say was extremely rude. And for him to curse was very unprofessional. I would never recommend him to anyone, not even my worst enemy if I had one.

When we went to court Mr.Muller was late. When he finally showed up we decided it would be best to settle he explained to me the whole process would take 7 weeks to process. After the first week i called him to follow up and he assured me not to worry he would take care of me and be in touch shortly. 3 Weeks later i still had not heard from him so i called and he explained to me he had received the paper work 2 weeks ago and just forgot to call me. So we took care of the paper work to sent to the commissioner for him to sign and i was suppose to receive my settlement with in 2 weeks and then i receive a letter from the commissioner that my settlement was declined because the paper work was not submitted properly. So now we have to start all over again.

I was a client of Mr. Maher's firm for 2-3 years. The firm filed Failure to Pay Rent filings in Baltimore County and Baltimore City for three company's that I manage. On 3-5 cases, the firm did not file the cases in a timely manner with the courts related to cases that I had referred to them and they had acknowledged receipt and agreed to file for me. In the end the cases were refiled at my request but would not have been refiled had I not checked in with the Firm to obtain status. I did not like the manner in which I was treated and the fact that I had to be responsible for checking in with them after each case was referred to them to ensure compliance. I felt that a better system could be implemented and to preserve the relationship, I suggested possible mechanisms to prevent such mishaps which were rebuffed. In end I was verbally abused via email and I was blamed for the cases not being filed timely/properly.

What a Personal Injury Lawyer Can Do for You

A personal injury lawyer specializes in helping individuals who have been physically or emotionally injured due to the negligence or wrongful actions of another party. Whether you've been hurt in a car accident, suffered a slip and fall, or experienced medical malpractice, a personal injury attorney works to ensure you receive fair compensation for your injuries. They can help you recover damages for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other related expenses.

Personal injury lawyers act as your advocate, navigating the legal system on your behalf and dealing with insurance companies to ensure you get the compensation you deserve. They understand how to handle complex legal matters and help you avoid common pitfalls.

When Should I Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer?

Hiring a personal injury lawyer can be beneficial in many situations where you've been harmed due to another's negligence. Some key scenarios include:

  • Severe injuries: If you've suffered significant or permanent injuries that result in substantial medical bills, a lawyer can help ensure you are fairly compensated.
  • Long-term or permanent disability: Injuries that affect your ability to work or require ongoing medical treatment are complex, and a lawyer can help estimate long-term damages.
  • Disputed liability: If the responsible party or their insurance company denies liability for your injury, a lawyer can gather evidence and advocate on your behalf.
  • Insurance company lowball offers: Insurers often try to settle personal injury claims for as little as possible. A lawyer can negotiate to get you a fair settlement.
  • Medical malpractice claims: Injuries caused by a doctor, nurse, or healthcare provider due to negligence require a personal injury lawyer experienced in medical malpractice law.
  • Exposure to hazardous substances: If you've been injured due to exposure to toxins, chemicals, or dangerous substances, a lawyer can help pursue legal action.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is crucial, especially if you're unsure of the full extent of your injuries or damages.

What Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Do?

A personal injury lawyer provides a wide range of services to guide you through the legal process and maximize your compensation. They can:

  • Evaluate your case: A lawyer will assess the strength of your claim and determine whether you have a viable case.
  • Investigate the incident: Gathering evidence such as police reports, witness statements, medical records, and expert opinions is key to building a strong case.
  • Negotiate with insurance companies: Lawyers handle communications with insurance companies to ensure you receive a fair settlement and aren't taken advantage of.
  • File a lawsuit if necessary: If a fair settlement can't be reached, the lawyer can file a personal injury lawsuit on your behalf and represent you in court.
  • Help calculate damages: This includes medical expenses, lost wages, future medical needs, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.
  • Prepare and file legal documents: Lawyers handle all the paperwork and deadlines associated with your case, including filing motions and discovery requests.
  • Represent you at trial: If your case goes to trial, the lawyer will argue your case before a judge and jury to obtain the compensation you deserve.

How Are Personal Injury Lawyers Paid?

Most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win your case, either through settlement or a court judgment. Here’s how it works:

  • Contingency fee percentage: The lawyer will take a percentage of the settlement or award, typically between 25% and 40%, depending on the complexity of the case and the stage at which it's resolved.
  • Costs and expenses: In addition to the contingency fee, the lawyer may deduct other costs associated with the case, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, and court costs. These expenses are often advanced by the lawyer and repaid out of the settlement.
  • No upfront payment: Since the lawyer’s fee is contingent on winning, you usually don’t pay anything upfront.

Always discuss the lawyer’s fee structure during your consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a personal injury lawyer depends on the specifics of your case and the lawyer’s fee structure. However, since most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, the amount you pay will depend on the outcome of your case. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Contingency fees: Typically range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award. The percentage may increase if the case goes to trial or requires an appeal.
  • Other costs: In addition to the lawyer's fee, you may be responsible for case-related expenses such as expert witness fees, medical record retrieval fees, and court costs. These are often deducted from your settlement, so you won't have to pay out of pocket.

While the cost may seem high, hiring an experienced lawyer can significantly increase the amount you recover, making it a worthwhile investment.

Top Questions to Ask a Personal Injury Lawyer

Before hiring a personal injury lawyer, it's essential to ask questions to ensure you’re choosing the right representation. Here are some important questions to ask:

  1. What is your experience with personal injury cases like mine?
Make sure the lawyer has handled cases involving similar injuries or accidents.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a contingency fee and what percentage they will take from any settlement or award.
  3. How long will my case take?
While it's hard to predict, a lawyer can give you an estimate based on similar cases they’ve handled.
  4. How often do you take cases to trial?
Some lawyers prefer to settle quickly, while others are more comfortable going to court if necessary.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
In larger firms, junior lawyers or paralegals may handle some aspects of your case, so it's important to know who will be managing your claim.
  6. Do you have references from past clients?
Speaking with past clients can provide valuable insight into the lawyer’s effectiveness and professionalism.

How to Check the Credibility of a Personal Injury Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a credible personal injury lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with your state’s bar association. Look for any history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, and Google reviews can provide insight into the lawyer's reputation and client satisfaction.
  • Look at their track record: Review their experience with personal injury cases, particularly how many cases they’ve successfully resolved or taken to trial.
  • Ask for references: Credible lawyers should be willing to provide references from past clients who can vouch for their work.
  • Check professional memberships: Lawyers who are members of respected organizations, like the American Association for Justice (AAJ), often have a solid reputation in the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a personal injury lawyer, prepare the following:

  • Detailed account of the accident: Write down everything you remember about the incident, including dates, times, and locations. Include any witnesses or police reports if available.
  • Medical records and bills: Bring any documentation of your injuries, treatments, and associated medical costs.
  • Insurance information: Provide your insurance details and any communication you’ve had with the other party’s insurance company.
  • Employment and income records: If your injury has impacted your ability to work, bring proof of lost wages or reduced earning capacity.
  • Photos or videos: If you have photos of the accident scene, your injuries, or property damage, bring them to your consultation.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Prepare a list of questions to ask, including how the lawyer will handle your case and what you can expect in terms of timeline and outcome.

By preparing thoroughly for your first consultation, you’ll help the lawyer understand your case more quickly and get a better sense of your legal options.
