I was in a car accident and decided to seek help from William Mattar Law Offices because I always saw their commercials as a kid and I remembered the jingle, but my experience was extremely disappointing. They claimed they reached out to me multiple times through phone and email, but I never received a single message or call. It felt like they used this excuse to avoid taking my case instead of being honest about it. If they didn’t want to handle my case, they should’ve just told me to my face.
I sent letters, called repeatedly, and tried to follow up, but they kept pretending they would call me back—yet no one ever did. Ultimately, I had to handle my dispute on my own. Ironically, I ended up settling for much more money than I believe they could have ever achieved. It’s clear they only want big cases and don’t take smaller cases seriously.
On top of that, their staff was rude and unprofessional. The lawyer’s representative I spoke to often had an attitude and never made me feel valued or respected. The only positive thing about my experience was when I first went into the office—they made me feel welcome initially, but everything went downhill after that.
If you’re dealing with a case, I’d recommend fighting on your own or going to a firm like The Barnes Firm, where they might treat you with the respect and seriousness you deserve. William Mattar’s office did not live up to their reputation, and I won’t be going back.

My initial experience with the firm was great! They made me feel heard and taken care of. After a while I heard less and less until I started to reach out to them. It took several attempts to get someone to return my call only to be given an incorrect update on my case. Several times over the last year I have been given the update of “just waiting on a call back from the adjuster”
In the beginning I was promised constant updates throughout my case, now I’m told that if there is no new news don’t expect a call.

I was involved in a car accident and was injured. Not only was Sarah instrumental in obtaining a fair settlement within a timely manner, she was very kind and caring. Sarah always made me feel safe throughout the whole process as this was quite the ordeal for me. This situation was especially sensitive as I am Canadian and live 2 ½ hours away in Ontario. Sarah never let the distance or the fact that I am a Canadian be an issue with resolving this case in a positive manner.

My husband and I worked with Andrew to submit our green card application in 2024.
Our situation had numerous hurdles to overcome and it was urgent we file our application as soon as possible. Andrew responded to my emails quickly and with immense detail. He advised us of the best way to proceed with each form and encouraged us to provide the necessary supporting evidence for our marriage.
Early 2025 we were notified of our green card interview. Prior to the interview, Andrew explained any potential issues we might encounter and sat with us in the interview. He also provided support while our case being reviewed. Our application was approved thereafter!

I am very impressed with Mr. Slepian's work ethic and experience. I consulted him with a question about possible actions to take, and he took the time to thoroughly understand the background of my immigration process. He was the first lawyer to do this, and as a non-native speaker, I really appreciated that he spoke slowly and clearly. He also didn’t try to push his services on me. Instead, he made me feel very relieved. I had the fear that I cannot work or travel. He told me about the technicalities, the likelihood of travel risks and further steps to mitigate them. I suffered a knee injury at work 4/2018. Over a period of months my knee weakened & I was told by my doctor, I needed a replacement. My employer disagreed. I had no idea on how worker’s compensation worked.
I sent the same email to 7 attorneys. Only one responded-Jeff. My email was full of dates & names of who was told what & when. It also contained my employers responses. Jeff said the detail & amount of information in my initial email made my case. Jeff walked me through the process.
After the first hearing establishing my case, my employer denied my claim.
Jeff told me exactly how to respond & what to fill out. He was caring & patient. He returned calls & responded quickly to email. He Took time to call & explain what forms were coming in the mail & what they meant.
It took a couple hearings & an IME to authorize my claim & get my knee replaced. Jeff was there the entire time. He was patient & explained everything along the way.
I will tell everyone who needs a worker’s compensation attorney to call Jeff. He is just a nice, humble & honest guy. He made this ordeal far less stressful & easier to understand. In short, he’s awesome. If you’re new to the system & need a beacon, let Jeff be that light.

On August 27th at 2:00 PM EST, I called your office seeking legal advice and assistance. Unfortunately, I encountered an individual who displayed an unprofessional and discourteous attitude. When I initially explained my situation, she abruptly informed me that your office does not handle such matters and hung up without allowing me to ask any further questions.
I called back to inquire about the specific cases your office does handle, as I believe my civil rights have been violated. However, before I could fully articulate my question, she interrupted, stating, "I said we don’t handle this, and I said have a great day," and then hung up on me once again.
Frustrated by this lack of assistance, I called a third time to request to speak with a supervisor. On two separate occasions, she answered the phone only to immediately hang up. When she finally responded, she simply said, "Please stop calling."
I would like to bring this matter to the attention of her supervisor, as this behavior reflects a lack of customer service skills and professionalism. It is disheartening to encounter such a response, especially when reaching out for help in a difficult situation. Individuals who prioritize dismissing potential clients over offering assistance should not be in positions where they interact with the public. As a college student in need of legal help, I expected better treatment.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that appropriate steps are taken to ensure others do not experience the same level of disregard.

I have been with Sawer & Sackel for 3 separate workers comp claims and have been very unsatisfied until recently. Up until Holly took ownership in my cases I was left wondering what was going on. I was the one that had to initiate any and all inquiries into correspondences from the insurance carrier. And I rarely spoke with a lawyer and it was Never the same individual. Since working with Holly things have change my thinking entirely. She has taken ownership in my case and has gone above and beyond my expectations (or at least what my expectations of a law firm should be) and have reaffirmed my choice in a workers compensation law firm. I’ve been with Sawers & Sackel for a few months. From day one, they have been professional and answered all of my questions. Going through this process has been difficult. During a phone call, Holly was so supportive. A few days later, I received a letter from Holly, with handwritten encouragement from her! It brought me to tears. On August 27th at 2:00 PM EST, I called your office seeking legal advice and assistance. Unfortunately, I encountered an individual who displayed an unprofessional and discourteous attitude. When I initially explained my situation, she abruptly informed me that your office does not handle such matters and hung up without allowing me to ask any further questions.
I called back to inquire about the specific cases your office does handle, as I believe my civil rights have been violated. However, before I could fully articulate my question, she interrupted, stating, "I said we don’t handle this, and I said have a great day," and then hung up on me once again.
Frustrated by this lack of assistance, I called a third time to request to speak with a supervisor. On two separate occasions, she answered the phone only to immediately hang up. When she finally responded, she simply said, "Please stop calling."
I would like to bring this matter to the attention of her supervisor, as this behavior reflects a lack of customer service skills and professionalism. It is disheartening to encounter such a response, especially when reaching out for help in a difficult situation. Individuals who prioritize dismissing potential clients over offering assistance should not be in positions where they interact with the public. As a college student in need of legal help, I expected better treatment.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that appropriate steps are taken to ensure others do not experience the same level of disregard.
