A few years ago, I was hit by a drunk driver and really should have been killed. My car was airborne for over 40 feet, and rolled two and a half times. The drunk driver was driving on a suspended license, and had no insurance. When my insurance company offered to replace my car and pay for my medical expenses, I was in disbelief. A friend put me in touch with John Barr, and told me that he would see to it that I was treated well. I was. He flew to Lubbock to meet us, and when he learned all of the facts, he went to work. I can never thank him enough. He cares, he knows his field, and he was successful in obtaining the maximum my insurance company could offer. John Barr is one of the few who give a good name to those who practice law.

It has taken a long time, but I have learned that a fancy downtown office on a penthouse floor does not automatically equal a good lawyer. (Neither does a paid-for ad for "Best Lawyer".) In fact, all those trimmings may mean a lawyer who is adept at billing. I made a HUGE mistake in not calling John Barr immediately a few years ago when I needed an attorney STAT, a mistake I paid for dearly by losing a preliminary ruling. The minute he came on, the game changed, and for the better. I felt a confidence that the case was being taken care of without having to micro-manage. (I even slept better at night!) John is smart, caring, and the legal bulldog you want when you need one. He is the Marcus Welby MD of Dallas attorneys, as he cares about his clients, loves what he does, and never gives up. He has me as a client for life, which may ultimately drive him crazy because I never hesitate to refer him to anyone who needs a solid, seasoned attorney. Finding a good attorney is really an art, and this guy is the best in town.

When Life Happens...There is a Court System that you don't understand and a Judge who is a complete stranger to your situation that gets to decide the fate of the rest of your life. Our case was complicated and it went against the grain of what a Texas Family Law Court traditionally will allow.
Over a period of about 6 long months we met with various "The Best" Family Law attorneys....Most wouldn't even take our case - said there's no way we would win. Others said they could WIN OUR CASE without even hearing one word about it. Then there were a few that said they could get close to what we were asking but not all and it would cost us close to $20,000 or maybe even more.
Custody Case Expert, Attorney Terrence Ridgely, answered our initial call 10 pm at night - while he was out with family. He didn't put us off to the next day during business hours - no he started working on our case right then and there. He didn't just tell us he would win our case - he told us HOW he would. He prepared us for the battle we were about to take on. And took every frantic call, email, and text.

Hired Nuru in January 2017 because my original attorney was highly inattentive and grossly incompetent in my opinion. My teenage son was in an auto accident in 2016. The other driver collided into our vehicle after crossing two lanes and pushed our suv on the curb. There was so much damage to the vehicles, the other driver couldn't get out of her car. The insurance company (Travelers Ins) would only pay 15% of total bills. Even though we had medical evidence, they felt like he wasn't injured and that it was "just a scrape". After dealing with Travelers insurance for over a year, we contacted Josh Upthegrove, MBA, Sr Paralegal of McCallum Law Firm. After a telephone conversation, he accepted our case. The demand letter to Travelers Ins was amazingly thorough, covering all applicable legal applications and consequences, quoting case law, etc. Because of Josh and the McCallum Law Firm, our case settled for about 95% more than what Travelers said was the absolute FINAL offer. Needless to day, I HIGHLY recommend the McCallum Law Firm.

My wife and I hired Ron and his team after we were run over by a car during the Christmas holidays. From day one, Ron has been responsive to answering all of our questions and needs during our case. There isn't enough space here for me to adequately sing the praises of Kirk. We had a situation that could have been truly catastrophic. We were guided to Kirk by a former client, retained him, and sat back and watched. Kirk is aggressive, approaches the situation head-on, and doesn't back down. Dallas attorney Mr. Jeff Rasansky advised us on a lawsuit brought against us...it was dismissed! Without his meticulous approach I don't think the long term outcome would be as great as it is. I had a very rocky journey after my automobile accidents where I fired 4 attorneys before hiring Luke because the previous ones treated me like a number on their worksheet. Some of them did the wrong work and some of them just did not bother to work on my case at all. I also asked a friend to give me a personal injury referral before Luke and little did I know I was mocked as "a troubled client" for hiring 4 attornies without bothering to understand my circumstance. When I found Luke, he was courteous, sympathetic & professional. He listened to my story and knew exactly how to help me with my situation. What I really liked about my experience with Luke is he kept you informed every step of the way (unlike those 4) and wants you to be involved in the process to ensure accuracy. Patrick Kelly handled my case last year and did a good job. I had my case with another law firm in Dallas, but they never did anything and said they could not recover for me. Patrick took my case and he made a claim with the court. He made me comfortable giving my live testimony to the insurance lawyers. He got all my bills paid. And I got 3 times the amount of money in my pocket than the insurance company offered the first lawyers (even after paying my bills and attorneys fees). I would recommend him too.

After a death, the last thing you want to do is worry about someone liquidating your fathers assets. This is what my sisters and I had to face a week after burying our dad. Due to him not having a will things where really complicated and his wife tried to take advantage of the situation. A family friend referred us to Bill and he has been a breath of fresh air throughout this entire process. Her attorney has been procrastinating the entire time and Bill has been on him like white on rice! Bill is very much to the point- no BS so if you want to be coddled then this one isn't for you. But, if you want the facts and someone that is going to give it to you straight while fighting for what's right then Bill is your guy. I highly recommend his team to anyone going through probate or a family settlement agreement. He's expensive but well worth the money I promise!

I was referred to Mr. Brian Sanford by another employment law firm that
I found on Yelp, and I have had nothing but good things to say about
this firm ever since. Full disclosure, I unfortunately was unable to sign on with Mr. Sanford because his schedule was already full, but even so he was willing to hear me out and give me some very helpful pointers on how to renegotiate the terms of my severance package after working for my former employer for nearly 8 years and getting laid off due to no fault of my own. Among those options included a handful of recommended firms I could consider contacting, all of which he had worked with before.
Today I received my first paycheck from that severance agreement, which ended up being more than double the amount initially offered. Without the information Mr. Sanford provided, the tips and cautionary points he made, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have done nearly so well.
I highly recommend Mr. Sanford for his straightforwardness in evaluating all points of your situation, his brass tacks summary of your options (he didn't hide anything about costs for every one of those options, whether or not you decide to hire him), and his extensive understanding of how the employment legal system works in Texas. Many people hate dealing with lawyers, but this guy seems to be one of the good ones.
