Mr. Latinsky has represented myself, family, and friends of mine for as long as I can remember and has always found a way to make the legal problems go away or be reduced significantly. As a young attorney myself, I consider him a mentor and a constantly reliable resource when trying to find solutions to my own problems inside and out of the courtroom.

Attorney Eric Latinski has handled two cases, representing myself and my wife. His knowledge of personal injury claims and the entire process is exceptional. He and his staff have successfully handled both of our cases with the absolute, best possible outcome. My wife and I both highly recommend this law firm and have done so on a few occasions to date. I have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever recommending attorney Eric Latinski!

Mr. Latinsky, knows his stuff. Would recommend him to anyone looking for a good lawyer. He was able to convey the law and what I needed to understand in order to get through my case. He kept me informed and up-to-date every step of the way. But, the best part about it is he resolved my case without any major heartache and the outcome was much better than expected.

Over the years Mr. Wagner has represented me, my father, my sister's friend and one of my friends. My experiences with him have been great every time. I highly recommend hiring him to represent you. He not only is great at his job but he makes whatever issue you're dealing with seem manageable. Even his employees are nice to deal with. If you have any kind of legal issue you can't go wrong with this attorney.

I am just recently looking for an attorney and I came across Keith Warnock. I hired him 25 years ago and I fired him 25 years ago. Never return phone calls was not attentive to my case. He still got paid though when my case ended but I hired a new attorney Edward hurt out of Orlando and this man was absolutely phenomenal. Keith didn’t care about my case at all. When you have a case pending and you just want to get an update on what’s going on you wanna return phone call well I didn’t get those. Maybe after 25 years he’s learn something.

Found this firm after doing research on board certified Criminal Defense attorneys. My 25yr old son had never been in trouble with the law but found himself faced with a 3rd degree felony burglary charge that he did not commit. He basically walked into an abandoned hotel that was under construction but did not intend or attempt to steal anything. He has a hobby taking pictures of unique and abandoned buildings. We thought it would be a simple case that his public defender could handle but after the PD had several negotiations with the prosecutor, we felt we were out of options, aside from my son admitting to the burglary charge with 3yrs of probation. I spoke with Mr. Ruddy Smith from this firm and he thought we were in a tough spot but said he would do his best. This guy is down to earth with a great deal of experience and very well connected. He got the charges dropped to a withhold misdemeanor trespass and no probation. Absolutely amazing. Ruddy comes with my highest recommendation.

Hired him in 2018 to do custody docs (flawless) and then again in 2020 when we went to petition for adoption and termination of parental rights on the grounds of abandonment. He is a very nice, personable man outside the courtroom. Inside the courtroom, he is a AGGRESSIVE and knows the law like nobody’s business!! Be aware he is also very busy (because he is just that good). Be prepared to correspond with his office staff because he is in high demand and court quite a bit. He will schedule a time a few days before court to go over the question and a game plan. Put your trust in him and let him navigate! Be patient because the legal process and the courts are bonkers. He won our case in 2023 and we adopted our babies!! We would hire him again in a heartbeat!! Nobody knows family law like Jon!

If you're a woman Don is your attorney, if you're a man he's only your attorney if it's criminal and the victim is not female. He's also not your attorney if you're a man in a child support/paternity case. He will act like he's on your side but he's really not. He will take your "evidence" and not submit any of it. He will in fact set you up for failure. If I could give Zero stars I would.

Wants to settle divorce cases as fast as possible. Didn't file 3 legit contempt charges, didn't get innocent criminal charges removed, didn't bother with ex making false police statements with facts stating she was lying. Didn't enter facts after divorce of contempt & theft. Really could give a crap how your case turns out. I out lined a clear abuse case on my child he ignored, she now sees 2 specialist because of the trauma inflicted to her. Then to top things he gave me a final bill and the next day tried to boost it 8k. I eventually will make a complaint with the bar after I'm done cleaning up the legal mess he left me in.

Mr. Huseman from the very beginning was very up front and honest. Told me things I did not want to hear, because it was the truth. I am a vet and a hard headed one at that. He was patient with me and helped explain things so that I could better understand. He himself is a veteran, and I really think that helped him understand me better. He has been on my case for quite some time (family law) and will scold me if I mess up. While he is 100% looking out for my best interest, he also cares about what is the best for my children. This man truly loves and cares about what he does, and he has fought hard for me, like he would for his own family. He is someone I 100% trust, depend on, and know he isn't selling me a dream. As a lawyer, he is well known, and well respected. He is black and white and interprets the law as such as well. He will not waste your time, nor your money. Mr. Huseman is professional, upfront, brutally honest, but you will always know where you stand, and what the chances of things are. He is a straight shooter. I'm so happy he was recommended to me. I am fighting in family court, and I am really worried and scared of the outcome, but with him I feel that no matter what decision will be made, he was the best, he did his best, and he was honest doing so. He will always have my respect no matter what the outcome will be.

If you hire this team you will NOT deal with Susan W. Tolbert. I spoke with her only twice during the entire ten months of my case. You will deal with her DISRESPECTFUL, UNPROFESSIONAL, LAZY, RUDE case manager Jennifer Morris. I tried to get one of her other six case managers and Susan called me and yelled at me. Told me Jennifer was her best worker, which was sad because she was VERY unprofessional. She actually told me if I didn't want to work with Jennifer Morris I could go to another law office but I had already invested six months with these two so I simply spoke with Jennifer as little as possible. They sent me to doctors that I was told were under contract with them and was NOT ALLOWED to see doctors that were covered under my own Health Insurance BCBS. Her case worker never got MRIs, X rays, or any other past medical history that would PROVE that these injuries were NOT pre-existing. Susan called me and told me if I went to court I would possibly lose the case because we had no way to prove these injuries were caused by this accident. As an RN, I knew which MRI's from my past would help me win this case so I CALLED TWIN LAKES and got the records, sent them to their office and four days later I won the case. NO THANKS TO THEM. After winning $100,000.00 they kept $41,000.00 telling me that my medical bills were $34,000.00 which CAN NOT BE TRUE because I never went to the hospital, I had NO surgeries, I had steroid injections and Ablation with THEIR doctors at AdvantaCare, three visits with their doctors at Coastal for medication and chiropractic visits twice a week for two months. If I had used my own health insurance it would have cost me $2500.00 copay and that's it. These people are liars, unprofessional, rude, disrespectful, and probably illegal forcing me to go to their doctors who are most likely on their payroll!!! BUT being lawyers they know how to get away with it. DO NOT USE MORGAN AND MORGAN. At least not the Daytona Office. "For the People"......NOT SO!!!! They are FOR THE MONEY, their money, not yours.

What a Personal Injury Lawyer Can Do for You

A personal injury lawyer specializes in helping individuals who have been physically or emotionally injured due to the negligence or wrongful actions of another party. Whether you've been hurt in a car accident, suffered a slip and fall, or experienced medical malpractice, a personal injury attorney works to ensure you receive fair compensation for your injuries. They can help you recover damages for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other related expenses.

Personal injury lawyers act as your advocate, navigating the legal system on your behalf and dealing with insurance companies to ensure you get the compensation you deserve. They understand how to handle complex legal matters and help you avoid common pitfalls.

When Should I Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer?

Hiring a personal injury lawyer can be beneficial in many situations where you've been harmed due to another's negligence. Some key scenarios include:

  • Severe injuries: If you've suffered significant or permanent injuries that result in substantial medical bills, a lawyer can help ensure you are fairly compensated.
  • Long-term or permanent disability: Injuries that affect your ability to work or require ongoing medical treatment are complex, and a lawyer can help estimate long-term damages.
  • Disputed liability: If the responsible party or their insurance company denies liability for your injury, a lawyer can gather evidence and advocate on your behalf.
  • Insurance company lowball offers: Insurers often try to settle personal injury claims for as little as possible. A lawyer can negotiate to get you a fair settlement.
  • Medical malpractice claims: Injuries caused by a doctor, nurse, or healthcare provider due to negligence require a personal injury lawyer experienced in medical malpractice law.
  • Exposure to hazardous substances: If you've been injured due to exposure to toxins, chemicals, or dangerous substances, a lawyer can help pursue legal action.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is crucial, especially if you're unsure of the full extent of your injuries or damages.

What Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Do?

A personal injury lawyer provides a wide range of services to guide you through the legal process and maximize your compensation. They can:

  • Evaluate your case: A lawyer will assess the strength of your claim and determine whether you have a viable case.
  • Investigate the incident: Gathering evidence such as police reports, witness statements, medical records, and expert opinions is key to building a strong case.
  • Negotiate with insurance companies: Lawyers handle communications with insurance companies to ensure you receive a fair settlement and aren't taken advantage of.
  • File a lawsuit if necessary: If a fair settlement can't be reached, the lawyer can file a personal injury lawsuit on your behalf and represent you in court.
  • Help calculate damages: This includes medical expenses, lost wages, future medical needs, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.
  • Prepare and file legal documents: Lawyers handle all the paperwork and deadlines associated with your case, including filing motions and discovery requests.
  • Represent you at trial: If your case goes to trial, the lawyer will argue your case before a judge and jury to obtain the compensation you deserve.

How Are Personal Injury Lawyers Paid?

Most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win your case, either through settlement or a court judgment. Here’s how it works:

  • Contingency fee percentage: The lawyer will take a percentage of the settlement or award, typically between 25% and 40%, depending on the complexity of the case and the stage at which it's resolved.
  • Costs and expenses: In addition to the contingency fee, the lawyer may deduct other costs associated with the case, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, and court costs. These expenses are often advanced by the lawyer and repaid out of the settlement.
  • No upfront payment: Since the lawyer’s fee is contingent on winning, you usually don’t pay anything upfront.

Always discuss the lawyer’s fee structure during your consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a personal injury lawyer depends on the specifics of your case and the lawyer’s fee structure. However, since most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, the amount you pay will depend on the outcome of your case. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Contingency fees: Typically range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award. The percentage may increase if the case goes to trial or requires an appeal.
  • Other costs: In addition to the lawyer's fee, you may be responsible for case-related expenses such as expert witness fees, medical record retrieval fees, and court costs. These are often deducted from your settlement, so you won't have to pay out of pocket.

While the cost may seem high, hiring an experienced lawyer can significantly increase the amount you recover, making it a worthwhile investment.

Top Questions to Ask a Personal Injury Lawyer

Before hiring a personal injury lawyer, it's essential to ask questions to ensure you’re choosing the right representation. Here are some important questions to ask:

  1. What is your experience with personal injury cases like mine?
Make sure the lawyer has handled cases involving similar injuries or accidents.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a contingency fee and what percentage they will take from any settlement or award.
  3. How long will my case take?
While it's hard to predict, a lawyer can give you an estimate based on similar cases they’ve handled.
  4. How often do you take cases to trial?
Some lawyers prefer to settle quickly, while others are more comfortable going to court if necessary.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
In larger firms, junior lawyers or paralegals may handle some aspects of your case, so it's important to know who will be managing your claim.
  6. Do you have references from past clients?
Speaking with past clients can provide valuable insight into the lawyer’s effectiveness and professionalism.

How to Check the Credibility of a Personal Injury Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a credible personal injury lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with your state’s bar association. Look for any history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, and Google reviews can provide insight into the lawyer's reputation and client satisfaction.
  • Look at their track record: Review their experience with personal injury cases, particularly how many cases they’ve successfully resolved or taken to trial.
  • Ask for references: Credible lawyers should be willing to provide references from past clients who can vouch for their work.
  • Check professional memberships: Lawyers who are members of respected organizations, like the American Association for Justice (AAJ), often have a solid reputation in the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a personal injury lawyer, prepare the following:

  • Detailed account of the accident: Write down everything you remember about the incident, including dates, times, and locations. Include any witnesses or police reports if available.
  • Medical records and bills: Bring any documentation of your injuries, treatments, and associated medical costs.
  • Insurance information: Provide your insurance details and any communication you’ve had with the other party’s insurance company.
  • Employment and income records: If your injury has impacted your ability to work, bring proof of lost wages or reduced earning capacity.
  • Photos or videos: If you have photos of the accident scene, your injuries, or property damage, bring them to your consultation.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Prepare a list of questions to ask, including how the lawyer will handle your case and what you can expect in terms of timeline and outcome.

By preparing thoroughly for your first consultation, you’ll help the lawyer understand your case more quickly and get a better sense of your legal options.
