Brief history – my (now) wife had travelled from China to the States almost 5 years ago to visit her best friend whom she know from childhood in China. Her tourist visa soon expired. She wanted to stay in the U.S. Shortly thereafter, I met her and I fell in love with her. I wanted to marry her. And I wanted har to feel secure that she could remain in the U.S.
I was familiar with Julie Oliver-Zhang as she is known by her lawyer peers as among the finest Immigration lawyers, as well as personal injury lawyers in Washington DC. Atty Julie Oliver-Zhang is a member in good standing and past governor of the DC Trial Lawyers Association, she has a prefect A-plus rating with Martindale Hubbell and an AVVO rating of 10 which is the highest rating for any lawyer. Clearly she is well respected by her fellow lawyers in Washington DC.
I was delighted that she agreed to take on our case - with a mission to obtain a Green Card for my soon to be wife.
Upon my first conversation with Julie, I was confident that we were in good hands. Her retainer agreement was reasonable. The staff at Oliver-Zhang law (Annjelica, Marcie, Rachel) were all up to date on the progress of our case, including but not limited issues such as asylum, my wife’s previous marriage in China which needed to dissolved (not an easy task to accomplish here in the U.S.). Our questions were always answered knowledgeably, with sound advice, on a timely basis.
The Oliver-Zhang firm was well prepared to file the seemingly endless volume of forms with the U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS). Julie and her firm guided us to provide detailed family histories requited by the USCIS, and proof of our own wedding (following my wife’s Chinese divorce). The firm advised us about the medical history that USCIS must know about each of us, as well as the needed immunization vaccines that USCIS demands.
I write this strong letter of recommendation of Oliver-Zhang law following the receipt of a Green Card for my wife! Now that my wife has her much valued Green Card she is a proud permanent resident of the United States.

This review is long overdue as it has been a few months since my case was settled. Nonetheless, I hope that it helps someone. Though I have a long story as it relates to my injury, I will keep it short — just know Mr. Kearney and his team were with me the entire duration. lock step. I was injured at work about ~8 years ago. My case was longer than many. During those eight years I went through every tactic you could think of from the various insurance companies and adjusters who handled my case. During those eight years, WC insurance found reasons to deny a treatment, or to not pay my benefits, or to make me wait 6 months for a hearing to only agree with our demands the day of (which happened on 2-3 occasions), and everything in between. Their goal is to make an already bad situation even worse. At times they succeeded. However, Mr. Kearney kept fighting for me and never budged. Even when things would become overwhelming and I wanted to quit, he remained calm and consistent while encouraging me to push forward. His tenacity resulted in a settlement that I had honestly almost lost hope on. That is what you get with Mr. Kearney. He is a known and respected entity in the world of injured persons/workers. Opposing counsel knows him and when they greet him you can sense the respect they have for him. Same goes for judges; he knows them, like really knows them. If you need someone to truly fight for you while keeping your best interest paramount, look no further. It is honestly a no-brainer. If he agrees to take you on as a client, jump at it. You will not find more competent, prepared, personalized, experienced, honest, and compassionate representation in the DC area. Mr. Sparks is the most awsome lawyer you can ever hire!! I was rear-ended by a pickup truck and suffered serious back and neck injuries. Unfortunately, the driver that hit me had a relatively low liability insurance policy. But Mr. Sparks got that insurance company to settle for the driver’s maximum limits. Then, he got my insurance company to pay a lot more because I had a much higher underinsured policy coverage limit. I was very happy with the final outcome.
My family and I suffered a lot in the accident’s aftermath, and Mr. Sparks stood by me every step of the way. He is an incredibly detailed, skilled and accessible lawyer … and a really good human being too.

I worked with Mr. Cohen a few years ago. He and his firm did a great job handling my case, a bad car accident in the Washington, DC area. My car was hit by an 18 wheeler truck on the Beltway just before the Dulles Toll Road. The truck was traveling in the right lane and decided to change lanes without seeing my car. It hit the side of my car and traveled with my car for about half a mile. If it weren't for our seatbelts, my husband and I would have been killed. Luckily, the injuries were not life threatening. Mr. Cohen made sure that all of my medical bills were handled and helped me deal with my car insurance company. He was very thorough! I would recommend Mr. Cohen to anyone that has had a car accident in the Washington DC area.

I was initially referred to Hassan by his former colleagues at the firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. I had been apprehensive about moving forward with a lawsuit, as I was presently under much stress and lacked the time or energy to become embroiled in protracted, combative litigation. However, after several meetings with Hassan, I began to feel more confident about my case, and very comfortable with Hassan taking the lead.
As we developed our legal strategy and prepared for mediation, Hassan involved me in every aspect of the matter, keeping me apprised of each detail in a timely manner. He was willing to use every resource at his disposal to further strengthen our position. Perhaps most significantly, however, he listened to and valued my opinions, concerns and thoughts. I felt that we were very much working as a team, making decisions together.

Due to an injury sustained, our family didn't know what to do or where to turn. Like others who deal with a sudden injury and life altering situations we initially hired someone out of haste.
