Easy hiring process and Mr. Frisby is the only attorney at his office, which meant complete one on one with him and personal attention to my case. Thank you so much for all of your help and guidance with my divorce!

Mr. Frisby was on time for this child support hearing and prepared ( unheard of for most attorneys)! He was informed about the issues at hand; Presented the facts/viewpoints in an objective manner; Kept cool under pressure; Negotiated well; and attentive to details. Highly recommended for family law which is often disregarded by most, but Mr. Frisby really cared.

Got a speeding ticket summer 2014, and I was recommended this quack to handle my case. BIG mistake! I thought that's what I paid the lawyer to take care of showing up to court for me. So I take time off work to show up to court and Frisby shows up an hour late from the court time! I'm sitting there waiting on this idiot like a dumbass. Finally shows up and said he was caught up at a different court...sleezebag. A year later I received a letter from the court saying I failed to show up to my second court apparent therefore I have a warrant out for my arrest and because it's now a warrant status I have to pay him the increased fee of $189. Unbelievable!

I contacted George Petrovich to discuss a motor vehicle accident case that occurred to me. In the initial consultation he described the entire process that would typically happen and the options available to me. 1. I handle the case myself 2. He consults with me on an hourly basis, or 3. He handles the case for me entirely. I chose the 3rd option and did not regret it at all. Each item he initially described occurred almost exactly as he described it, from obtaining billing records, to negotiations, to medical insurance settlements, to the final outcome. And the entire case was settled in almost the exact timeframe he estimated at the beginning. The settlement reached was very close to his initial estimate as well. He is very thorough, very detail oriented, and is very easy to contact when I had any questions. I hope I am never involved in another accident or in need of an attorney, but if I am, I would definitely retain Mr. Petrovich again.

I used him to represent me in a divorce. He communicated any and ALL information to me involving my case, but over and over again. He would forget that he had already told me the same information and 15 minute meetings would lead to 3 hour meetings, which I was billed for. He ran through more than $17,000 of my retainer with no results. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. I found and switched to another who got me results in a matter of weeks and am still with that same lawyer!

The fact that they say it was a mistake with that statement, that means internally one of your lawyers wrote that out and thought it was a good idea because you wouldn't have accidentally sent it if it wasn't written or printed. Honestly, get a law firm that treats people like humans. Also, we need to know the lawyer's name who wrote that paper out. Protecting this person is disgusting. You should be blasting this person even if it was a mistake, which again, if it wasn't written or printed, you couldn't have made that mistake, which means at one point you thought it was a good idea.

I disagree with the previous review. All cases are different. Mr. Cantu has represented me on 2 cases. I have always found this office to be very courteous and respond timely. First case was completed within 6 months and I was very satisfied with the results. Second case involved myself and my 2 sons, which were finished a little over a year for all 3, at the end we were very happy. He might have referred your case of a client's impatience.

To make along story short there staff sucks got one phone call from them after I asked to talk to David cantu got the run around from him and his staff. I got a phone call from another attorney saying he refered my case to another attorney. I never got a call or letter in the mail letting me know this. Now after around 18 months I have to start all over with another attorney. I would never ever recomend this attorney to my worst enemy.

Andrew and his paralegal Teri were extremely bad. He represented me in my divorce in 2013 and was awful. He did not fight for me, and in the end, I ended up with paying for all my legal bills and my ex’s too. He left vaguely worded statements in the decree about who was responsible for paying credit card bills after the divorce was filed. I had to constantly call their office to get information on my case, and the only thing they were good for was increasing their billable hours. Run as fast as you can from these guys.

This case took way too long to settle, 5 years. I was rear ended by a driver that was on a cell phone while on the freeway. My car was totaled, I suffered injury. The driver's insurance company made some unacceptable offers. The two year limit expired, still no mention of the driver being on the phone was made. In the mean time I had another accident which made settling for a fair amount difficult according to Art. After depositions, meetings, paying for medical records for YEARS it finally dawns on Art to ask for phone records. Of course the time that lapsed made things difficult in obtaining the phone records. Apparently that was the straw to break the camel's back & a settlement was made. I would've been better off dealing with the insurance company directly. This guy got 1/3 of my pain & suffering for absolutely NOTHING. Do not hire him unless you have time to waste & money to burn. He will not help.

McGinty filed my divorce and was negligent. She and her assistant told me that we could not go to court for Temporary Orders hearing due to a death in the judges family. As a result, I was not awarded spousal support (I was a stay at home mom), there were SEVERAL mistakes in the orders, and several items were left out of the orders. As a result, I was at a disadvantage for the remainder of the divorce. At least 4 other lawyers reviewed her work and all were surprised and appalled with the work that she had done (or didn't do). It was very hard to contact her and I consistently got conflicting advice. Please do not even consider using this attorney.

Come with your wallet first, results after. Chris is an ethical lawyer; there are no problems here. The problem is optics. There was a perpetual demand for money. Phone calls, money. Emails, money. Do we know if he talked for three hours to opposing counsel? We don't know. Money. There is just too much hypothetical bs rhetoric, and for the amount of money in demand, I have absolutely unequivocally underwhelming results. Not to mention, the matter is still unresolved. If you are a small/med business, this is not the lawyer for you. Granted, no one knows how much a case will cost, but truly experienced individuals know estimates, and because they are very good at what they do, they can navigate the water expertly. If I wanted this type of situation, I... you... anyone would be better off hiring a Jones Day lawyer or some other firm focused on profits over merits. Again, it is optics. If your case is not easy and everything is in your favor, I promise you this is not the guy you want unless you have 100k sitting somewhere, and you won't miss it when it is gone.

After my initial meeting with Robert Aldrich, in which I paid my retainer, I was passed on to one of his assistants. It seemed that their policy was to bill each and every little thing they did, however, much of what they did in my case was excessive and unnecessary. I believe they only created these items in order to increase my bill. I was going through a very difficult divorce, and in the end, was forced to call my husband myself to negotiate our decree. What a Personal Injury Lawyer Can Do for You

A personal injury lawyer specializes in helping individuals who have been physically or emotionally injured due to the negligence or wrongful actions of another party. Whether you've been hurt in a car accident, suffered a slip and fall, or experienced medical malpractice, a personal injury attorney works to ensure you receive fair compensation for your injuries. They can help you recover damages for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other related expenses.

Personal injury lawyers act as your advocate, navigating the legal system on your behalf and dealing with insurance companies to ensure you get the compensation you deserve. They understand how to handle complex legal matters and help you avoid common pitfalls.

When Should I Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer?

Hiring a personal injury lawyer can be beneficial in many situations where you've been harmed due to another's negligence. Some key scenarios include:

  • Severe injuries: If you've suffered significant or permanent injuries that result in substantial medical bills, a lawyer can help ensure you are fairly compensated.
  • Long-term or permanent disability: Injuries that affect your ability to work or require ongoing medical treatment are complex, and a lawyer can help estimate long-term damages.
  • Disputed liability: If the responsible party or their insurance company denies liability for your injury, a lawyer can gather evidence and advocate on your behalf.
  • Insurance company lowball offers: Insurers often try to settle personal injury claims for as little as possible. A lawyer can negotiate to get you a fair settlement.
  • Medical malpractice claims: Injuries caused by a doctor, nurse, or healthcare provider due to negligence require a personal injury lawyer experienced in medical malpractice law.
  • Exposure to hazardous substances: If you've been injured due to exposure to toxins, chemicals, or dangerous substances, a lawyer can help pursue legal action.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is crucial, especially if you're unsure of the full extent of your injuries or damages.

What Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Do?

A personal injury lawyer provides a wide range of services to guide you through the legal process and maximize your compensation. They can:

  • Evaluate your case: A lawyer will assess the strength of your claim and determine whether you have a viable case.
  • Investigate the incident: Gathering evidence such as police reports, witness statements, medical records, and expert opinions is key to building a strong case.
  • Negotiate with insurance companies: Lawyers handle communications with insurance companies to ensure you receive a fair settlement and aren't taken advantage of.
  • File a lawsuit if necessary: If a fair settlement can't be reached, the lawyer can file a personal injury lawsuit on your behalf and represent you in court.
  • Help calculate damages: This includes medical expenses, lost wages, future medical needs, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.
  • Prepare and file legal documents: Lawyers handle all the paperwork and deadlines associated with your case, including filing motions and discovery requests.
  • Represent you at trial: If your case goes to trial, the lawyer will argue your case before a judge and jury to obtain the compensation you deserve.

How Are Personal Injury Lawyers Paid?

Most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win your case, either through settlement or a court judgment. Here’s how it works:

  • Contingency fee percentage: The lawyer will take a percentage of the settlement or award, typically between 25% and 40%, depending on the complexity of the case and the stage at which it's resolved.
  • Costs and expenses: In addition to the contingency fee, the lawyer may deduct other costs associated with the case, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, and court costs. These expenses are often advanced by the lawyer and repaid out of the settlement.
  • No upfront payment: Since the lawyer’s fee is contingent on winning, you usually don’t pay anything upfront.

Always discuss the lawyer’s fee structure during your consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a personal injury lawyer depends on the specifics of your case and the lawyer’s fee structure. However, since most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, the amount you pay will depend on the outcome of your case. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Contingency fees: Typically range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award. The percentage may increase if the case goes to trial or requires an appeal.
  • Other costs: In addition to the lawyer's fee, you may be responsible for case-related expenses such as expert witness fees, medical record retrieval fees, and court costs. These are often deducted from your settlement, so you won't have to pay out of pocket.

While the cost may seem high, hiring an experienced lawyer can significantly increase the amount you recover, making it a worthwhile investment.

Top Questions to Ask a Personal Injury Lawyer

Before hiring a personal injury lawyer, it's essential to ask questions to ensure you’re choosing the right representation. Here are some important questions to ask:

  1. What is your experience with personal injury cases like mine?
Make sure the lawyer has handled cases involving similar injuries or accidents.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a contingency fee and what percentage they will take from any settlement or award.
  3. How long will my case take?
While it's hard to predict, a lawyer can give you an estimate based on similar cases they’ve handled.
  4. How often do you take cases to trial?
Some lawyers prefer to settle quickly, while others are more comfortable going to court if necessary.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
In larger firms, junior lawyers or paralegals may handle some aspects of your case, so it's important to know who will be managing your claim.
  6. Do you have references from past clients?
Speaking with past clients can provide valuable insight into the lawyer’s effectiveness and professionalism.

How to Check the Credibility of a Personal Injury Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a credible personal injury lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with your state’s bar association. Look for any history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, and Google reviews can provide insight into the lawyer's reputation and client satisfaction.
  • Look at their track record: Review their experience with personal injury cases, particularly how many cases they’ve successfully resolved or taken to trial.
  • Ask for references: Credible lawyers should be willing to provide references from past clients who can vouch for their work.
  • Check professional memberships: Lawyers who are members of respected organizations, like the American Association for Justice (AAJ), often have a solid reputation in the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a personal injury lawyer, prepare the following:

  • Detailed account of the accident: Write down everything you remember about the incident, including dates, times, and locations. Include any witnesses or police reports if available.
  • Medical records and bills: Bring any documentation of your injuries, treatments, and associated medical costs.
  • Insurance information: Provide your insurance details and any communication you’ve had with the other party’s insurance company.
  • Employment and income records: If your injury has impacted your ability to work, bring proof of lost wages or reduced earning capacity.
  • Photos or videos: If you have photos of the accident scene, your injuries, or property damage, bring them to your consultation.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Prepare a list of questions to ask, including how the lawyer will handle your case and what you can expect in terms of timeline and outcome.

By preparing thoroughly for your first consultation, you’ll help the lawyer understand your case more quickly and get a better sense of your legal options.
