After struggling to initially find a firm that would take on my case as my injuries didn’t appear to be “severe”, and the car was fixable, Wright accepted my case with some realistic expectations. Later Sabin Maxwell would take over once we were ready to proceed, and was entirely kind and informative throughout. All staff at the office are nice and helpful people. I was very thrilled with the outcome, and the speed at which things occurred once I reached my “medical end point”. Would recommend to anyone.

I had the opportunity to work with the firm for a time sensitive case. They were more than willing to help me out on a very short notice. They stayed in constant communication and made sure I didn’t stress about anything. I ended up winning my case without any problems. I would without a doubt recommend using the firm if you are looking for professionalism and kindness.

After telling Laurie about my neurological disability she tried to financially take advantage of me by putting a different price in the contract than what we discussed thinking I would not notice. When I confronted her about it, she refused to respond to me. In my first conversation with Laurie she was using vulgarities and then complained to me about how another client is trying to get their money back. Extremely unprofessional. Laurie later decided to withdraw from me case when I had asked her to hire a PI to get necessary paperwork for my case as I was unable to get it myself. Laurie refused. I tried to fight Laurie withdrawing from my case and we had a hearing. At the hearing Laurie LIED to the judge twice stating that I gave her less of a retainer than I really did and then told the judge that I signed a contract that I in fact did not sign. Then Laurie attempted to tell the judge about our conversations in email that are part of the attorney client privilege. Laurie has about the same integrity as Saul Goodman. She is a CRIMINAL Lawyer and should be disbarred. Because of my terrible experience with her I made a website to warn others about her where I explain in more detail about the atrocities that Laurie has committed. Please come view my webpage at https://laurielacoste.com

I began working with Attorney LaCoste before she went into practice for herself and I recently retained her again. Her knowledge of family law, including complicated financial components such as QDRO as it pertains to retirement plans and pensions is stellar. She is compassionate but direct and clear, laying out the process that lies ahead and really customizing responses for what is best in your unique situation. She is the solid and reliable resource you need when you are in the most chaotic time of your life.

My family and I would like to thank Attorney Laurie Lacoste of Lacoste Law for the excellent work she did helping us with our case. Laurie worked diligently through issues that came up along the way and took the time to explain laws relevant to our case and present us with options. Laurie is a very competent attorney and knows her stuff! Laurie provided excellent counseling and achieved the best possible outcome for our situation. I absolutely recommend Lacoste Law!

One needs a lawyer to believe in them first and foremost. Attn. Lee did! He believed in me and why I had to seek out a Legal Separation/Divorce lawyer to begin with. Attn Lee is Knowledgeable, Confident and Self Assured--attributes one needs in a lawyer. He never once shied away from any challenge, he met them head on. A difficult case but my lawyer prevailed. I will be forever grateful. I highly recommend Attn Lee and this law Firm, Small and Lee. 5 Stars.

I am an in-house bank attorney and had a very positive experience with Upton Hatfield in a complex real estate matter. Their expertise in real estate law was evident from the start, and they provided clear, strategic advice throughout the process. The team was thorough in their analysis and proactive in addressing potential challenges. Communication was consistent and straightforward. The attorneys and support staff were always accessible and responsive.

John eats a lot of beans and hotdogs during his zoom meetings. I heard he only wears suits on the top half of his body and has underwear on the bottom half during zoom calls. However, he won a case for me when I robbed the local bank of my town. He’s a good man, the Amy is cool she doesn’t eat as many hotdogs as John, she is healthier and smarter. She helped my 3rd wife get custody of her step children. It was a bit expensive though.

Mr. Wolkowski has an immense amount of knowledge in legal matters. He handled my case with both patience and a professionalism that can only be attained through experience. When seeking his assistance in a case, the one thing I learned is to listen and allow him to handle the legalities; in short, let him do what he does best. Some cases may take a long time, but don’t fret; he has your best interest in mind. I am forever grateful he agreed to represent me in my extremely convoluted case. Thank you so much, Mr. Wolkowski

Contacted attorney Megan Douglas in June, 2024 and was told we have a whistleblower case for wrongful termination. She stated she needed 1 month and she would get to work for us. At the time, we sent her all the information she requested. After endless text messages and voice mails, she set an appointment for October 25, 2024, about 4 months after the original contact. At the meeting she said our case could take up to two years and lots of money. If she told us this 4 months earlier, we would have gone elsewhere. We collected our file. She is the reason lawyers have such a bad reputation.

mike is top notch and he wasn't like other lawyers i had met with, or just looking for money... He actually cared about me and my well being ..I was facing a dui , accident and jail time and mike got me a minimum license loss with no jail time... I will never ever go through this again , but mike was so amazing to work with and having him by my side telling me everything would be okay is what i needed.... if you need someone to look out for you and that knows what they are doing , Hire Mike Anzalone he is the best of the best...Can i add that he called me even after he was done with my case to answer some questions , No lawyer does that .... so just goes to show how great he is and is an attorney that actually cares!! thank you Michael:)

Unprofessional. Shady. Sketchy. When I first called he acted like he was so happy to work with me. He got his down payment and said I had until my next court date which was in 2 months to pay the remainder. He called 2 weeks later demanding the money so at the end of that week I tried to call back to pay him. I called every day with no answer. Not to mention during the whole time I was dealing with him he was hard to contact and never returned any calls. I then got a letter in the mail with a check for my down payment saying there was a communication error and that he didn't want to continue working with me. No. The communication error is that I have called and called to try to pay him and he refused to work with me. He is the most unhelpful and unprofessional "business man" I have ever dealt with. I would not recommend to anybody.

I was rear ended. I contacted a couple lawyers but none wanted my case. One said my injuries weren't severe enough, the other just never got back to me after our first talk. I was going to give up, but I called Mike Anzalone. He talked to me about my injuries and how the accident happened and really made me feel like he gave a damn about my case. Well I am so thankful he did. I ended up with a five figure settlement. I cannot express how happy I am with Mr. Anzalone and his staff. Especially his secretary, I think her name was Kathleen. She was very helpful. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Anzalone Law Firm to anyone with an injury. Even if another lawyer blows you off, or just makes you feel like they don't care about your case. Call Mike Anzalone, he will take care of you. He definitely helped me, more than I could've expected. Thanks Mike!

This guy is a scam artist! Be aware, Keith Mathews deletes negative comments off of Google. Keith charged me 3k to sabotage my case. Keith lied numerous times by stating that he wasn't speaking with my former attorney. Not only was he speaking with my former attorney, but also the Defendant attorney, I have emails from Keith's office where the 3 of these attorneys are conspiring against me and withholding my periodic payment. Then Keith lied several times by saying he wasn't receiving documents from the court. Keith refused to give me documents to my case! Keith submitted filings without my knowledge. On more than one occasion, Keith didn't keep me informed of hearings, nor rescheduled hearings. Of course Keith blamed his Paralegal! Keith also told me that the Defendant contacted him, I'm sure Keith cut some deal with the dirtbag! These attorneys are sleaze bags!

Represented me for multiple cases; took my money and dropped the ball in court. Doesn’t return phone calls, even when scheduled a week or two in advance. Was supposed to file an appeal, never bothered to follow up or file. Also worth noting he is rude to clients in consultations and in the process, and cuts you off constantly. Very unprofessional and a con man. TLDR - Don’t hire this “lawyer”. Spend your money elsewhere on real representation.

My experience with Mr Murphy was not a good one. I engaged Mr Murphy in August 2022 it took until the end of November to produce a half page “demand letter “ that that had no reply date and no return receipt. I found out in January 2023 that the other party denied receiving any contact. When questioned about this, Mr Murphy resigned. He sent me an email stating he could not represent me due to “communication issues.” An honorable man would have returned all fees for non-performance.

Having spent several years working at the largest law firm North of Boston, I feel fortunate to have Ken Murphy as my attorney for both business and family law. Ken is a gifted, brilliant attorney who is responsive, knowledgeable, respected and overall - an exemplary attorney. Ken has assisted me with a myriad of legal issues - from business related issues to most recently - a tragic family accident. When Ken learned of my family members tragic accident - he reached out to me and offered guidance while I was out of state. His recommendations and support at a time of personal crisis - something I will never forget. The advice he provided - impactful and more than I could have asked for. Again, during this time of crisis, I feel fortunate to have Ken on my team! As a businesswoman and owner of small agency - and Seacoast resident for 23 years - I am constantly communicating and interacting with people all day long. If a professional colleague or peer should bring up a legal challenge or crisis - Ken is always my referral and go to guy. Professionally, he has "come to the rescue" of many friends who might not have sought legal help or have received the legal service or advice they deserved. He is compassionate and always available. It is clear that Ken loves what he does. He has gone above and beyond what is expected of an attorney - he delivers winning results and always puts the best interest of his clients first. Again, I feel blessed to have Ken Murphy as my attorney.

What a Personal Injury Lawyer Can Do for You

A personal injury lawyer specializes in helping individuals who have been physically or emotionally injured due to the negligence or wrongful actions of another party. Whether you've been hurt in a car accident, suffered a slip and fall, or experienced medical malpractice, a personal injury attorney works to ensure you receive fair compensation for your injuries. They can help you recover damages for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other related expenses.

Personal injury lawyers act as your advocate, navigating the legal system on your behalf and dealing with insurance companies to ensure you get the compensation you deserve. They understand how to handle complex legal matters and help you avoid common pitfalls.

When Should I Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer?

Hiring a personal injury lawyer can be beneficial in many situations where you've been harmed due to another's negligence. Some key scenarios include:

  • Severe injuries: If you've suffered significant or permanent injuries that result in substantial medical bills, a lawyer can help ensure you are fairly compensated.
  • Long-term or permanent disability: Injuries that affect your ability to work or require ongoing medical treatment are complex, and a lawyer can help estimate long-term damages.
  • Disputed liability: If the responsible party or their insurance company denies liability for your injury, a lawyer can gather evidence and advocate on your behalf.
  • Insurance company lowball offers: Insurers often try to settle personal injury claims for as little as possible. A lawyer can negotiate to get you a fair settlement.
  • Medical malpractice claims: Injuries caused by a doctor, nurse, or healthcare provider due to negligence require a personal injury lawyer experienced in medical malpractice law.
  • Exposure to hazardous substances: If you've been injured due to exposure to toxins, chemicals, or dangerous substances, a lawyer can help pursue legal action.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is crucial, especially if you're unsure of the full extent of your injuries or damages.

What Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Do?

A personal injury lawyer provides a wide range of services to guide you through the legal process and maximize your compensation. They can:

  • Evaluate your case: A lawyer will assess the strength of your claim and determine whether you have a viable case.
  • Investigate the incident: Gathering evidence such as police reports, witness statements, medical records, and expert opinions is key to building a strong case.
  • Negotiate with insurance companies: Lawyers handle communications with insurance companies to ensure you receive a fair settlement and aren't taken advantage of.
  • File a lawsuit if necessary: If a fair settlement can't be reached, the lawyer can file a personal injury lawsuit on your behalf and represent you in court.
  • Help calculate damages: This includes medical expenses, lost wages, future medical needs, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.
  • Prepare and file legal documents: Lawyers handle all the paperwork and deadlines associated with your case, including filing motions and discovery requests.
  • Represent you at trial: If your case goes to trial, the lawyer will argue your case before a judge and jury to obtain the compensation you deserve.

How Are Personal Injury Lawyers Paid?

Most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win your case, either through settlement or a court judgment. Here’s how it works:

  • Contingency fee percentage: The lawyer will take a percentage of the settlement or award, typically between 25% and 40%, depending on the complexity of the case and the stage at which it's resolved.
  • Costs and expenses: In addition to the contingency fee, the lawyer may deduct other costs associated with the case, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, and court costs. These expenses are often advanced by the lawyer and repaid out of the settlement.
  • No upfront payment: Since the lawyer’s fee is contingent on winning, you usually don’t pay anything upfront.

Always discuss the lawyer’s fee structure during your consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a personal injury lawyer depends on the specifics of your case and the lawyer’s fee structure. However, since most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, the amount you pay will depend on the outcome of your case. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Contingency fees: Typically range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award. The percentage may increase if the case goes to trial or requires an appeal.
  • Other costs: In addition to the lawyer's fee, you may be responsible for case-related expenses such as expert witness fees, medical record retrieval fees, and court costs. These are often deducted from your settlement, so you won't have to pay out of pocket.

While the cost may seem high, hiring an experienced lawyer can significantly increase the amount you recover, making it a worthwhile investment.

Top Questions to Ask a Personal Injury Lawyer

Before hiring a personal injury lawyer, it's essential to ask questions to ensure you’re choosing the right representation. Here are some important questions to ask:

  1. What is your experience with personal injury cases like mine?
Make sure the lawyer has handled cases involving similar injuries or accidents.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a contingency fee and what percentage they will take from any settlement or award.
  3. How long will my case take?
While it's hard to predict, a lawyer can give you an estimate based on similar cases they’ve handled.
  4. How often do you take cases to trial?
Some lawyers prefer to settle quickly, while others are more comfortable going to court if necessary.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
In larger firms, junior lawyers or paralegals may handle some aspects of your case, so it's important to know who will be managing your claim.
  6. Do you have references from past clients?
Speaking with past clients can provide valuable insight into the lawyer’s effectiveness and professionalism.

How to Check the Credibility of a Personal Injury Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a credible personal injury lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with your state’s bar association. Look for any history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, and Google reviews can provide insight into the lawyer's reputation and client satisfaction.
  • Look at their track record: Review their experience with personal injury cases, particularly how many cases they’ve successfully resolved or taken to trial.
  • Ask for references: Credible lawyers should be willing to provide references from past clients who can vouch for their work.
  • Check professional memberships: Lawyers who are members of respected organizations, like the American Association for Justice (AAJ), often have a solid reputation in the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a personal injury lawyer, prepare the following:

  • Detailed account of the accident: Write down everything you remember about the incident, including dates, times, and locations. Include any witnesses or police reports if available.
  • Medical records and bills: Bring any documentation of your injuries, treatments, and associated medical costs.
  • Insurance information: Provide your insurance details and any communication you’ve had with the other party’s insurance company.
  • Employment and income records: If your injury has impacted your ability to work, bring proof of lost wages or reduced earning capacity.
  • Photos or videos: If you have photos of the accident scene, your injuries, or property damage, bring them to your consultation.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Prepare a list of questions to ask, including how the lawyer will handle your case and what you can expect in terms of timeline and outcome.

By preparing thoroughly for your first consultation, you’ll help the lawyer understand your case more quickly and get a better sense of your legal options.
